I can’t say enough to express my absolute love for Mori by Aji in Renton. The staff is incredible and the sashimi top grade, melt in your mouth amazing. The icing on the top: I left my prescription glasses here two months ago, and they were safely kept, unscratched and waiting for me. I highly recommend Mori for your local Sashimi experience!!!

Google
Great experience at Mori Sushi & Grill by Aji! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and I really liked the interior design. The place smelled fresh, with no strong food or unpleasant odors. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Great ambience with modern decor. The entrees are generously big servings. We got salmon steak, bibimbap and chicken katsu which included miso soup and salad. My kids got 4 sushi rolls and they said Mori has the best sushi in Renton. I highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food was good, service was great, they were very polite and accommodating. Frequently brought things before asking. Cool atmosphere and would go again. Warm damp towel, miso and water brought as soon as sitting down. Ordered: Salmon bento Good and more than enough food.

Lunch was good. Affordable and diverse lunch specials. Had a special roll (Snow Flower I believe) that was very good and fresh. Service was quick and attentive. Would return if in the area.

I’ve been here many times before, food is always amazing. Sake is delicious. Price is also reasonable. Great atmosphere for a date night or girls night out. However, the recent time I went, I was extremely disappointed with the host service. I walked in with my 3 girlfriends and was told there was a wait, which was understandable. The host took my name and phone number down on a post it, which I thought was odd, but whatever. We walked right next door to get a drink to pass the 25 min wait as we were told. At close to an hour, I called to see how much longer the wait would be. The host told me the table is ready NOW and the whole party has to be there in the next few minutes or the table would go to someone else. Weird that the host didn’t call me to tell me the table is ready but okay…I told the host we will be there in a minute as we were waiting right next door. Then the host tells me that the table actually isn’t ready since they are cleaning it up so to be there in the next 10 minutes. We walk over and immediately the host acts as if he hates his job. Does not greet anyone in, was not apologetic and had the biggest attitude. I told him my name and that I had just called for the table for 4 and he doesn’t say a word, walks away to check on the table that was being cleaned. Then he returns and says to follow him. When asked why he didn’t call, he said he must have dialed the number wrong. It’s not that hard to dial a 10 digit number but I guess mistakes happen. Our server was amazing, the food is delicious as always. However, this most recent experience left me disappointed and made me not want to return.

Google
I accidentally walked in the wrong door but they let me in the locked one I was trying to get into. So the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s a fairly typical modern sushi house. Low lighting, clean and simple. I was overwhelmed with my choices as to what to order. So I had some help. I saw an appetizer called Monkey Brain and naturally I had to try it. But it’s a dish that should be shared with multiple people. It’s big and just a lot for one person. As for the rolls each had great flavor and tasted fresh. I got a roll with cilantro and personally I do not jive with the garnish. But everything else was fantastic. If you are looking for sushi I recommend.

Google
Got sushi lunch and tempura udon. Food was great but rice was a bit too small for the size. Sushi got to our table 5 mins after Udon.

Yelp
Excellent large menu with interesting offerings, attractive presentation and delicious execution. Servings were generous, we enthusiastically ordered too much and were happy with leftovers to take home. Our server was fun, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The three of us were all celebrating our birthdays and he made it special. The space was clean, appealing in style and not too noisy. Give this eatery a try, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
MORI SUSHI & GRILL BY AJI @ RENTON Parking is available in multiple lots at The Landing. I'd recommend parking by Red Robin, it's about a couple minutes of an easy walk, mostly no traffic. Free however can be hard to find during weekends. Wow this place blew my mind. I've been to a couple of Aji Sushi places that are owned, but this spot was a new one on my list. Located in the heart of The Landing in Renton, my friend and I stepped in with an easy spot to sit. We got some menus; which needs to be recreated, both of ours were pretty beat up and hard to read on the left side. However, the other rolls were easy to read. We got greeted by hot towels for our hands and on house miso soup - incredible right? We decided to get three rolls, all of them which were incredible. We got this seared salmon that came out with the flames - it was amazing, tasted fresh, and was hard to top the others. I really enjoyed the sushi and it was about $18-$25 for rolls, a great price for high quality, and beautiful presentation. I'm back here in no time - anything owned by Aji is always delicious, with great high quality service and food

Yelp
I love Mori Sushi. It's been 19 months since I last reviewed Mori, and I have to say 19 months later Mori is still fantastic! The restaurant has aged well. It still looks beautiful architecturally! A few menus could be changed out with their pages faded from repeated handling but otherwise everything is still sharp from the furniture to the flatware. It is a lovely place to have fantastic sushi. Speaking of sushi I do not know why but their salmon is consistently the very best. Buttery, deliciousness I simply will order each time. Everything I have eaten here is fabulously delicious. I'll admit, I haven't eaten any of their cooked items (beyond rice that is) but my friends who have enjoyed their meals. Service here is also fantastic. Jay is a consistent presence behind the sushi counter. He is a marvelous sushi chef - tireless, welcoming, and a delight. I always enjoy sitting at his very underutilized sushi counter for a great meal. In my humble opinion it is the best seat in the house but so few people sit there. Lunch times are typically quieter than dinner. It can get quite busy at dinner. They have a lunch break every day, but never kick us out despite being well within their right. It is understood to pay before the lunch break and not bother the employees while they are having their break and in turn they will give grace to finish a long running meal. They truly are a fantastic sushi restaurant.

Yelp
so yum!! second time here, had the tempura mix, i'm on fire roll and the nigiri sushi! they do not disappoint here, the nigiri pieces are pretty big! i'm on fire roll is a must try!! miso soup is free but doesn't really taste like miso, maybe watered down? service was a bit slow throughout our dinner but i assume they were short staffed

Yelp
Some of the best sushi rolls and creative themes I have seen on the Eastside! Fun place good delicious food. The Japanese Ceviche was amazing. Super tasty spider crab roll. Heart attack seemed the spiciest to me but great sauces. The toro was fantastic and so was the Ikrua. Everything was so good!! Service was amazing and the ambiance was nice good vibes and love the island kind of themes. This place is my new sushi love!!!

Yelp
Located in the Renton Landing shopping center, the restaurant is situated near the movie theater. There is a parking structure close by and makes it easy to get to. The restaurant was packed on a Friday evening but we got a table in 15 minutes. There is a large selection of cooked items and sushi. Prices are the middle of the road. The food was good and in very large portions. The waitress was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Finally tried this place out with my husband! Great sushi, just only downside is they fall apart easily. Whether that be due to poor wrapping (the sushi is definitely overstuffed) or the rice isnt sticky enough, unsure but they still taste phenomenal. We had the Aji sushi, "Im on Fire", and Salmon mania. My favorite was the "Im on Fire" while my husband's was the Aji Sushi. Salmon Mania was our least only because it wasnt too special than the others. Its basically just all sushi all around in the whole presentation and within the dish itself. Service was great. Took a while for our sushi to get to us and it was worth the wait. It was packed on a Friday night and we had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table. We were not rushed and we were provided warm hand towels to freshen up after our meal. Overall, we will definitely come back!

Yelp
I love being simple and soothing and unique ambience of this restaurant. It would be perfect for a first date or in my case, a date with my husband of 20 years I love that they chose unique decorations that made this sushi restaurant feel completely different than every other sushi restaurant You don't even actually feel like you're at a sushi restaurant The menu is immense With so many different options. I love that there's also a ton of great options for people like me that don't actually enjoy fish The prices online with most sushi restaurants but the difference is the portions are almost twice that of other places so you will end up with leftovers. Even my husband who often times will order two dinners when we eat out could not finish his meal. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and my husband ordered the beef Bulgogi. It came with delicious miso soup which was the perfect temperature. Not so hot you would burn your mouth but not cool enough that you wish it was warmer. And they both came with very generous salads. Chicken teriyaki I had was some of the most delicious I've ever had and the chicken quality was very high. I very easily get grossed out by meat and there was not one single bite that grossed me out My husband felt like the beef Bulgogi could use a little bit more flavor Besides the dinner which I explained above, I came here for lunch with my son a week before and they had some great lunch specials like a bento box. I recently had a medical condition healed and so now can eat gluten and dairy, so I ordered my first bento box in my life and every Food within it was blowing my mind. It was so good. My son confirmed that this was one of the best bento boxes that he's ever had. The temporal was cooked perfectly and it was not greasy at all. The same with the gyoza. And the price was super reasonable. I was surprised the bento box came with soup in addition to the salad, tempura, main dish that you wanted, rice, and gyoza. Again examples of being very generous with portions We've only been there two times but it will most certainly become a go-to for us when we are in Renton and we will be sure to recommend it to others

Yelp
Food was good and I was soooo full afterwards. Service was good and decor was nice! I enjoyed each roll we ordered as it was different and had its own unique taste. The money brain was a fun one!

Yelp
Pro: staff is friendly, parking is easy, menu is big with many different kinds of Japanese and Korean dishes to choose from Cons: food only tastes so so to me

Yelp
MORI SUSHI AND GRILL More Please!! I had the opportunity to finally try out Renton's latest offering of Japanese cuisine. Situated in the Landing near Regal Cinema, Mori Sushi is new to the community of Renton. It has a well built-out dark decor and plenty of seating that you can easily guess will be filled on a busy weekend. The staff is professional, friendly and incredibly helpful. When the host isn't there at the counter, there is an immediate greeting from the sushi counter, just to say hello and welcome. It's the small touch that makes you feel welcome and at a hometown place. I arrived at lunch time, so I had the opportunity to try their lunch bento with teriyaki chicken. And since I was at the lunch counter, I am happily obliged to order from their broad selections of sushi creations. I chose the Alaska roll, a salmon and spicy tuna creation with a tasty signature sesame like glaze. Tasty. I will save a few pennies and be back. As always, bring a friend or two with you to enjoy the ambiance... and the food! #morisushiandgrillrenton

Yelp
I came by on a Saturday night and waited 15-20 minutes before our group of 4 was seated. The interior is pretty and we received complimentary miso soup and hot towels. We ordered several rolls for to share. The I'm on fire roll was my favorite! Love seared salmon. The other rolls were fine but I would swap them out for something else next time.

Yelp
We have been to the Aji Sushi in Newcastle and I didn't ask but seems like the same owners. This place was decorated very well and modern. We were seated right away on a Saturday around the lunch hour. The food was very consistent with the Aji Newcastle location so no complaints. Salmon was fresh both as poke in the bowl and the grilled salmon. Vegetable roll was nice but a little sweet because of the sauce. I would recommend it if you are in the area and craving sushi.
google avatar

Laurie C.

Yelp
Beautiful new sushi restaurant at The Landing. Presentation is awesome for quality sashimi and sushi! They have another location that is much smaller in Newcastle. The menu is large with lots of cooked items as well! Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

Yelp
While in the southend, we decided we wanted Japanese food for lunch. My MIL hadn't had much Japanese food, so Mori Sushi seemed like a good spot to try and sample a variety of items. We opted for the bento boxes, which have a nice sampling of protein, tempura and gyoza. My daughter was in charge of ordering the sushi rolls: Spider Man, Spicy Alaska and the Mori roll. My bento came with a generous amount of spicy pork. The bentos were tasty and plentiful and sushi rolls were good. Renton Landing has a nice variety of food options to choose from and Mori Sushi is a solid lunch spot. I look forward to coming back to try other spots.

Yelp
I had a great experience here this past Sunday! Mori is located at the landing so there is plenty of parking and super convenient! The interior of the restaurant is super modern and nice. Was seated right away, we did come in at 4:30pm. There were a few other groups already inside. As soon as we sat down, they gave us hot towels and miso soup! Miso soup was bit salty, but it is hard to find places that serve it complimentary so I appreciated it! We ordered 3 rolls (spicy tuna, "im on fire", and three lady). The rolls were all super good. I really liked the "im on fire" roll. The presentation of the roll was super nice and I loved the taste of the seared salmon. The sauce did not overpower the taste of the roll, which I loved! The spicy tuna roll is a classic and it did have a good kick to it! My friend enjoyed her "three lady" roll as well. Would come back again to try their other rolls! This was a really good experience.

Yelp
Mori has been a popular spot for group lunches at work but after my recent visit, I won't be giving them any further business. During the most recent visit, I was overcharged on tax (12% vs 10.3%) and the business initially denied any wrongdoing until I showed them my receipt and then promptly backtracked and said they just updated their computer software but the issue has been resolved. They have still not provided any options to my refund or confirmed how much I was overcharged. Note: There's an 18% mandatory gratuity that is added for parties 4 and higher. This shows up as a service charge that is taxed per WA state law (voluntary tips are not taxed). So if you are a part of 4 or more, you are paying a mandatory 20% tip regardless of service received.

Yelp
Customer service was great; very welcoming already at the door and always checking in to make sure we were okay and that all our orders were present and tasting good. This was my first time in the restaurant and it definitely feels like a nice place to go for a birthday or date night. It has the right balance of natural lighting as well as dim lighting inside. The food was good and the sushi tasted on the fresher side. The balance of fish to ingredients and toppings was good. All the rolls were things I would normally order at a sushi restaurant and definitely met my expectations. I can't recall which roll it was but there was one with unagi inside it and I was personally not fan of the texture and I think it being a topping type of fish is more ideal. It would be nice if you could do reservations here. Even though there wasn't a wait when I arrived, I still had to wait for the rest of my party and a lot of people were walking in which had me nervous. Having a reservation service would be a great peace of mind aspect to dining. There's also plenty of parking in the garage behind it as well as street parking outdoors. Definitely a good spot with lots of food traffic. Would love to come back to try the other dishes.

Yelp
We wanted to try this a couple weeks ago but arrived just in the hour they are closed (3-4pm), so we tried again today. We enjoyed the warm towels and miso soup, and ordered a kona roll, exit 18 roll and chicken yakisoba. We finished up with some mochi ice cream. The prices were reasonable, and the food was great. The vibe was pleasant and the decor attractive. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We missed the old sushi place that is now Cloves, but this is a more than worthy successor. We'll be back!

Yelp
(Review #987) Highly recommend. Great quality and super attentive staff. Honestly way outperformed my expectations. The overall presentation of even appetizers like the Yellowtail sushi was super. Very fresh ingredients. I was really impressed. Sushi in general is pretty expensive in the greater Seattle area...compared to Los Angeles. But it's totally worth it here.

Yelp
Renton, WA / Dec 2023: Mori Sushi & Grill by Aji is a gorgeous restaurant with a beautiful & mouthwatering assortment of delicious dishes! A few family members and I enjoyed dining here while I was home for the holidays! Love at First Bite & Sight: Four family members & I dined and ordered a variety of dishes! Every single one was delicious, as we sampled from each other's plates! Each plate was colorful & displayed in a beautiful way! One dish even arrived to the table ablaze... It was quite a show, loved every moment of it! Friendly customer service as well! Discovered: My brother told me about this restaurant, as they were new to The Landing; a shopping area that has lots of stores and restaurants all around, including a movie theater! Overall: Excited to return and try more dishes, as there are plentiful! Even better, knowing that that each dish will be displayed in such a beautiful way, score!

Yelp
Delicious! First time here at Mori in Renton! This place looks like it's made for Bellevue but local in Downtown Renton at the landing! Great location next to the theater. There is a parking lot so parking is easy to find. Fresh meats and new flavors. A must try!

Yelp
I really like the ambiance of this restaurant. So chic, elegant and clean. The service is great. Me and my friend have been looking forward to try this place. We ordered: Monkey brain Shitake mushroom roll Jalapeno bomb Spicy scallops rolls Amazing sushi and rolls. Love it! Definitely will come back. So many choices we haven't try. Parking plenty, also have parking garage. This restaurant located in renton landing next to Regal theater.

Yelp
First time visit to the only sushi restaurant in The Landing. Food: Very good! I ordered the Bento box for lunch. It had Saba (mackerel), perfectly fried tempura veggies and shrimp, green salad, 2 gyozas, and rice. That was $20. Competitive pricing with Sushi Roll Roll. Service: They were very busy at lunch on a weekday! I did feel bad for the hardworking waitresses. There were only two of them to handle all those tables. And one table had 14 people!! The waitresses were very polite and efficient. Ambiance: The decor here is very hipster. Beautiful logo sign that hangs on the wall. Wish I had taken a pic of it. We will definitely return!! (Btw. Two gender neutral bathrooms available)

Yelp
Visited this new restaurant for lunch. Great service, fresh fish, and upscale ambiance! We ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered the chirashi bowl and date ordered the bento box. Filling portions! We can eat a lot and it filled us up! I asked for half sushi rice and regular rice. ! Prices are bit higher but worth it. Worth another visit! Update: visited her for dinner this time with girlfriends. It did not disappoint. Portions are bigger; thought price were reasonable for seafood! Ingredients were fresh. Service was friendly. I found out They do not take reservations . Miso soup comes with meal. Warm wash clothes give before ordering.

Yelp
I came for lunch with a couple of others so this is for what they had during lunch hours. We arrived around 12:30 and there were about 3 other tables of people, not crowded or busy. Food: It was ok. The ramen has a good broth. The sushi pieces we ordered and the roll had a good amount of fish. The rice with the sushi and rolls were hard though, it was either old or overly cooked. We had water and tea but the water tasted funny, like they poured it straight from the tap and into the pitchers, unfiltered. Ambiance: The menus need to be replaced since it was difficult to read since it was worn out. It felt like it had a wax coating so the edges of the pages were very worn, greasy feeling, and illegible. The table we got had some food pieces left on it. The bathroom was not clean. The floors by the tables (ours and the two tables on both sides of our) were sticky. Service: The server was friendly, attentive, and refilled the water. Overall I was disappointed since I've been here before twice and the place at those times were a lot more taken care of and tidy, despite being evening hours that were busy. I would have thought that a mostly empty restaurant wouldn't have issues.

Yelp
Came here for lunch a few weeks ago and omg it's so cute! I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. They were not busy at all so we were seated right away. They have a lot of different sushi options and I wanted to branch out and not get my usual spicy tuna roll lol so I ordered the "I need a bottle water" because I love spicy and MAN but that was so spicy! But so good!! My mom ordered the fresh crab California roll and she loved that as well! For dessert we had the mango mochi and it was so so. I do wish they had more dessert options at the time but I think they are working at adding more. I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!

Yelp
This was the third time visiting this restaurant and every time, it is the best. We were celebrating a birthday and the team was so accommodating. The food was great and the Tropical Roll is a staple choice for me. Highly recommend!

10/10 10 best sushi place! I visit every time I'm in the Seattle area! Great ambiance and aesthetic as well.

Yelp
Service was good. I love spicy tuna so I got the Hot Dream roll and it was superb. Portions were big, pricing was fair. Miso soup was plain, no flavor. Would definitely go back tho.

Yelp
Service was good, the interior design is classy and earthy with all the fake plants they have covering the walls and wood elements but the food itself was just ok. Ordered tempura mix, hamachi kama, agedashi tofu, tofu maki roll, exit 18 roll, tempura veggie roll, and unagi nigiri; nothing stood out as being really good, or even memorable.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent sushi rolls, so glad they opened a location in Renton and it is as good as the Aji in newcastle. Feels modern and a nice atmosphere inside though we got takeout this time. We tried fried gyoza and sushi rolls "hot dream" & "three times lady" & "lion king". Each roll was well made, lot of fillings and just enough rice to go with it. Sushi was fresh and tender, sauces and toppings were great though the spicy sauce is not very spicy. Spicy tuna and seared salmon on the rolls were very good. Signature sushi rolls are mostly $16-18, so it's more expensive than Trappers, but higher quality and a nicer venue. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
We love Aji Sushi in Newcastle and were delighted when we heard Mori Sushi by Aji was opening at the Landing! The menu has a great overlap (but also new and different items) with Aji, plus great service (and much better parking than the Newcastle, shout out to the Landing parking garage). We loved the modern vibe of the restaurant, and even my daughter (4) felt at home with her kid-friendly chopsticks. Highly recommend the Aji roll and the fried gyoza, and also the poke bowl can easily be split amongst two people!

Yelp
First time my family and I went to Mori sushi for an early dinner on a Thursday evening just before 5pm. The service was pretty friendly and kind and somewhat attentive there were plenty of servers to check on you. refill your waters , and remove dirty plates from the table. I liked the interior of the restaurant it was nice and clean and not too noisy even when busy. The miso soup was salty for my taste , the seared salmon was delicious and the eel was mediocre , the Exit 18 roll was good and I'd get it again because it was very flavorful especially with the toppings gave it that perfect crunch. We also ordered Chicken udon with poached egg and that was delicious, the broth was light and tasted great, the chicken was grilled but a little tough to chew. I appreciated the portion size of the udon that also came with extra bowls and spoons to share among the 3 of us. The mochi dessert was also a nice way to end the meal with something sweet. I would come back to Mori but it wouldn't be my first choice for sushi.

Yelp
Was very pleased with the experience. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly. The ambiance was delightful, the fish was of high quality, and the pricing was reasonable. The quiet upscale atmosphere makes for a great date night spot. The server mentioned that the restaurant opened last September, so it's still relatively new. I'm happy to have such a nice place in the area and hope they do well. As constructive feedback, I noticed the front door sticks, making me initially think the restaurant was closed. It would be beneficial to repair this. Additionally, upgrading the plastic soup spoons for the miso to porcelain would better align with the upscale aesthetic.

Yelp
First time coming here for lunch; the service was wonderful & they really tend to their customers! The ambiance was modern & welcoming. Although some say their lunch menu seemed expensive - the portions, quality of food, & presentation, I believe it makes the pricing valid. Hope to be back again soon!

Yelp
A very cute, modern restaurant. The server was very helpful with it being our first time there. I ordered the Kalbi short ribs and sushi. The server suggested this "need a water bottle" sushi, because I said I like it spicy. It was really good and beautifully made-not that spicy to me. You can choose the level of spice. The short ribs were also cooked nicely-not over done/seasoned. I will definitely be back here again.. super cute spot and food was delicious.

Yelp
I'd recommend coming on a weekday because it gets busy otherwise. The dining experience was great itself. I like the darkish atmosphere of it. Tricks me into thinking I'm in fine dining haha. The Sx on the Beach roll is my personal recommendation. It's pretty pricey but the good quality of everything explains why.

The otoro and unagi was good. Everything else was OK. Omakase isn't served by piece. It serves all at once on a plate. Squid legs were delicious, great ambience

Yelp
Lunch bento boxes are affordable at 22$. They serve you miso soup and also heated towels to wash. Very nice location and ambiance. Boeing workers on strike so business at this location during day time was pretty slow and food served within 10-12min.

Yelp
This is my go to sushi spot in Renton. The restaurant is modern and has an upscale feel. I love the hot towels the server provides to clean your hands. The menu has an assortment of delicious items. I can't wait to try the entire menu. The presentation of each dish is a treat. "I'm on fire" is my favorite roll.

Yelp
Been here twice now and enjoyed it both times. Super cute vibes inside. Good place for a date night. The food comes out quickly and staff is friendly. There is a whole page of vegetarian rolls which is appreciated and they are yummy! Will be back again!

Yelp
Amazing sushi and everything else! Love their specialty rolls but the regular ones are great too. Anything you order is going to be fresh. My favorite touch is they bring you a basket of warm wet white towels to wipe your hands with along with miso soup!

Yelp
Amazing gem in the Landing! The ambiance was so serene. The inside had warm lighting and cozy seating. We ordered sashimi, heart attack, and I'm on fire rolls, ALL WERE 10/10 amazing. Our server was kind, quick, and very receptive. Easy will be one of our favorites sushi spots in the Renton.
