Spanish-North African tapas with small plates & sherry

"At Morito the North African and Spanish-inspired menu changes, but it’s hard to go wrong. Roast quail, seafood rice, any croquette, and cheese fritters are favourites. The Exmouth Market spot is still the best, with tables out on one of London’s nicest pedestrianised roads." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"Morito, Moro’s sibling, is a Spanish-North African restaurant that takes in London’s bustle and asks, ‘is that all you’ve got?’. In fact, you’ll be hard pushed to find somewhere more non-stop or serving tastier little plates than this cramped hallway. Just know that you can get down and dirty with some crispy rabbit in a rosemary sauce, wolf down some hot and saucy patatas bravas, plus a cumin-y lamb chop for luck, and get a bill that’s bigger than you expected it to be. And although you can wander in sometimes, Morito is generally a restaurant you need to be tactical with. Basically, you need to book." - sinead cranna, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley
"It’s extremely easy to prop yourself up at Morito’s luminous orange bar, get down and dirty with some deep-fried squid, scoff some saucy patatas bravas, and imagine you live in a country where taking a nap in the middle of the day is mandatory. The corridor-sized tapas spot on Exmouth Market was one of London’s first bustling counter situations, and it’s still one of the best around." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"There’s something quite elegant about Morito’s lamb chop. All there, alone, sprinkled with paprika, on a tasteful terracotta plate. Can a lamb chop be chic? Can a lamb chop look like it belongs at the Met Gala? Does anyone want, or need, the answer to these questions? Yes. Yes to everything. And yes to one more Chic Chop © from Morito. Sometimes with cumin, sometimes with anchovy butter, sometimes with other stuff, it’s always good." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"You and your closest friends are desperate to be back in a restaurant but with a chorus of ‘our anxiety levels are off the charts, baby!’. Morito can help with that. This spot on Exmouth Market that specialises in north African and Spanish-inspired small plates, is always energetic but in a cool, laid-back way. Kind of like a hyperactive Beagle just before a nice, long nap. This strip of Clerkenwell is always busy but never claustrophobic and thankfully it’s away from the traffic so you can really enjoy your deep and meaningfuls. Oh, and you know that person you’ve been chatting to throughout lockdown 3.0? Yeah, Morito will work perfectly for that date night too." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
