Pit stop in Louisville on the way to the beach. First time here and loved the place, and the food. Shared a cinnamon roll before breakfast and had the banana bread French toast. Really good and no need for syrup. The bacon was also incredibly good. Service was great and engaging. Great experience.

Visiting Louisville, Ky for the weekend, wanted something good for breakfast. Thought we’d try out Morning Fork. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the friendliest greeting. The owner/chef was so welcoming and so was our server. We tried a few different items on the menu and loved it all. This is a must try… Thank you John for everything.

Tough review as I am conflicted. Hostess was extremely good as was the waitress. Manager was okay, and GM was great. Food was nothing to remember. Cornmeal pancakes were bland and wouldn’t be enjoyable without syrup. Burger was good. Everything though had a sense of being under-seasoned and over priced. I’m not cheap, but 17 breakfast burrito that’s mostly rice and you gotta pay another 5 just for a scoop of chicken sausage to be added? 4 kids chocolate milk? Everything just seems 10-25% overpriced. Had to send some food back as it just wasn’t enjoyable for the price. The location and staff is great. The hostess and waitress were engaging and kind and if they could just cook the food right I would imagine this place could be GREAT. But I’m probably not gonna come back.

First of all, you should definitely make a reservation. We came around noon on a Sunday and it was about 40 minute wait for us to get a table. When we did get one it was outside while it was raining and cold. The drinks and the food were good but the bathroom was very unclean. (Jacob’s Super Special Tips: You should ask the customer before they are seated if they’d like to sit inside or outside [I would’ve gladly waited longer if I had known they were going to sit me outside in the rain] The menu needs to be updated if there are changes made [I ordered the scramble which had chicken sausage on the menu, but when I got it there was no chicken and the server told me it doesn’t come with chicken] A clean bathroom makes your restaurant look clean and a dirty bathroom makes me question the cleanliness of the whole restaurant)

Google
The salad was dry. Came without dressing. The entire salad felt to be above room temperature. The eggs were inedible due to being dry, warm and old. The chicken tasted like it came out of a bag of Tyson strips. Dry and no flavor. For a simple chef salad it was $16 and awful. Service was great. Location is amazing. I did request dressing and it was eventually brought out.

Google
Everything was yummy! I recommend getting a reservation especially around derby! The short rib benedict was great and the cinnamon roll was delicious and filling! We came on our anniversary and they had a card for us! We’ll be back!

Google
Don’t get confused, Folk & Barrel and Morning Folk are the same spot. We went there on a Saturday for brunch. Great atmosphere, and the food was tasty. We loved especially their cinnamon roll. If you like bacon in general, you will like their bacon! Too bad that the waffle we had tasted stale that day, but they made it up to us after we told them about it.

Google
I ordered the Savory Crepe and Liege Waffles, and both were great! The savory crepe was perfectly done—thin, soft, and packed with delicious fillings. It had a great balance of flavors, rich but not heavy. The vibe at Morning Fork was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff was friendly.

Yelp
We came for their themed brunch (Star Wars week!) and had an awesome experience. The menu was creative and fun without feeling gimmicky--the food was actually delicious and super well-executed. Service was great across the board, and the staff was friendly and on top of everything. The owner, Geoffrey Heyde, even came by to check in on us, which was a nice personal touch. You can tell he cares about the experience. They do these special themed menus for one week each month, and now we want to come back just to see what they come up with next. If you're in Louisville and love brunch, Morning Fork is a must.

Yelp
We had a great breakfast here! I first got a taste of Morning Fork at the Gravy Cup and I couldn't wait to try out their full menu! It was a grey day but still nice enough to eat outside and be seated right away. I never go for a sweet breakfast option, but the server's emphatic recommendation of the French toast swayed me. This was an amazing decision, especially with my husband ordering the corned beef hash. We really got the best of both worlds. We just sat on their patio, but I've heard they have cool rotating themes inside. We'll have to be back to check them out. Great brunch, would highly recommend!

Yelp
I don't like leaving poor reviews but Morning Fork really needs to improve on customer experience, hospitality, and value for money. We had a reservation for brunch for a group of 6 and were really excited for a nice meal together. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, the manager came over and asked us to leave because they needed our table for the next reservation that was starting. The manager was not apologetic about it and the whole encounter was unprofessional for a business to treat their customers. We were rushed out the door as soon as we got checks, and it ended our brunch on a very sour note. They need to do a better job of planning their reservations here. The food is also overpriced, underwhelming, and the atmosphere does not match the price point. By comparison, Bar Vetti and Le Moo offer similar pricing for their brunch yet provide a significantly nicer atmosphere and dining experience than Morning Fork, as well as better food quality. Unless they make improvements, I don't foresee this establishment lasting long. I added an extra star because the server was awesome and very friendly.

Yelp
This place has the best cinnamon rolls. the Jumbo House Made Cinnamon Roll, and the Country Breakfast (eggs, breakfast meat and toast your way) is the choice if you are in the area for a great breakfast option. My wife opted for the MF'n Breakfast Sandwich consisting of Over Hard Fried Eggs, Crispy Candied Bacon, Avocado, Blackberry Jam and White Cheddar Cheese on Toasted Hawaiian Bread with a side of Fresh Fruit. It is one of the best breakfast options there is in Louisville, It's the ultimate sweet and savory breakfast favorite. If you would like the Bloody Mary for breakfast the House made version with Bacon salt and Wheatley Vodka is a true work of art. This place also has a full menu that is served from 7 am to 3 pm Wednesday thru Sunday. We also to tried the house made chili, totally unique and delicious. Start your day off right, this is the place to go you will be better for it. The staff is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. A great place, will return and highly recommend.

Yelp
Cute brunch spot. I had the MF'n breakfast sandwich. It was really good. It comes with fresh fruit and I added a side of the roasted garlic & white cheddar grits. The grits tasted kind of bland to me. I also tried the Spicy watermelon margarita. It was so good!! I was surprised that I was able to easily find parking, especially since it was a Saturday morning. I also love that they have patio seating.

Yelp
This was the cutest breakfast spot! Staff was so friendly and attentive. Drinks were great, food was delicious and served on really cute plates. Food and drinks were served quickly. This was right off the highway and easy to get to as well.

Yelp
The menu looked great, and we were excited to try the food. Unfortunately, after being seated, we waited for about 10 minutes and no one ever came to our table, so we decided to leave. If you plan to visit, it might be a good idea to make a reservation--hopefully, that helps avoid a wait.

Yelp
Big portions of breakfast desert options like the cinnamon roll and pancakes. The MF'n breakfast sandwich was delicious. Fruit was good and the bourbon coffee creamer was a nice touch. Looks to be breakfast by day, bourbon bar by night. Parking lot or street parking. Would definitely come and try more food. Get the chicken sausage patties - there huge!

Yelp
Came in we had reservations. We were seated promptly. I like the ambiance I love the photos that they have on their walls makes me want to put some of my art in restaurants. I ordered the Kentucky Russian, it is old forester 86, Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream, Khalúa, Coffee Ice Ball; this beverage was surprisingly good. I'll def try to make this at home, would be great for brunch at home. For my meal, I ordered the cornmeal pancakes with almonds. Ok so the food came out in a nice time, I'm not gonna lie, the pancakes are different, not bad but different and if you're not used to the taste of cornmeal I'd definitely not recommend. Would I order again? Yea but not the meal maybe one on the side they are Huge! The bacon and the potatoes were really good, I liked the spice on the potatoes. Overall I'd say the restaurant and the food was good but will try different options whenever we come back.

Yelp
This place was great for our large group! They offered breakfast and lunch items that appealed to everyone in our party which was nice. Our server was AMAZING! I wish I remembered his name. He was so personable and chatted with us about items on the menu and things to do in the area. We ordered everything from burgers to salads to soups to sandwiches to bloody marys to soda to juice to iced tea. The burgers were really enjoyed by the kids. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was also tasty. The hit was the chicken salad. We ordered it on the wheatberry bread while one of four guests ordered it on gluten free bread. All was going well and dandy. When the food came out, someone helped our server bring out the food and we asked her if the food placed in front of the gluten free guest was gluten free bread and she said Yes! However, while eating, I noticed that the bread on my gluten sandwich was identical to the bread on the gluten free sandwich. When we asked our server, he said Oh no that the gluten free person was given and had now eaten some of the gluten bread. We did ask before he ate it! A note to the staff--PLEASE train all staff on why knowing what is and is not gluten free is important and do not let someone help who is unsure or at least tell them to ASK! I appreciate the server taking it off the bill and be apologetic. I was surprised the Manager did not come over too.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim since we were in the area, and to our surprise they had a Harry Potter themed brunch going on which was super fun! He got the breakfast platter with eggs, toast, and bacon. I got the Nutella crepes. Both were good, but we also agreed both were overpriced considering the serving size and overall quality. My crepes were good but $14 for just the crepes with no side. My boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast, although not the biggest fan of the bacon, but such a simple breakfast for $18 also just seemed shocking. The place itself is beautiful and fun, and everyone working was super kind and accommodating, I'm just not sure if we'd come again due to the contrast in price and quality. Our food was definitely good, but not great.

Yelp
Well if I was just reviewing the food I would want to give them 10 stars. I was with 3 other people and everything from the biscuit and gravy to the corn beef was fabulous . We even had a cinnamon bun roll as an appetizer and it was amazing... But we all know food is what draws us to a place but service makes the experience complete. As my party waited 15 min beyond our reservation time, which is no big deal, as we waited another 15 for a server to approach our table I was already thinking about my yelp review. I was not happy with the service starting out and I could not understand the delays since most of the tables in my area were empty. So I started looking around and paying attention to what was happening around me. I soon found out that the servers, even though they did not smile or make eye contact with the patrons were not at fault. It was easy to see that the manager/ greeter was causing the issues. There were no communications between the front of the house and the servers. The person who seemed to be in charge was more interested in talking to people about alternative societies and mushroom churches. Now I have no idea what those two things are nor do I care. What I did care about was how the patrons and the waitstaff were being treated. I do not know if this was a one off thing or happens a lot. I know if the food had not been so good they would be getting 2 stars or worse. I am giving 3 stars only because the food was so good. I will be back. The food is that good . Make sure you have a reservation and pack your patience. I will update my review after another visit.

Yelp
Awesome little place for breakfast and brunch! My husband and I stopped in here with my parents around 9:30 on a Sunday and I was surprised to find that it wasn't packed. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to be seated right away. Our waitress, Ellie, was fantastic. She was so engaging and warm and she made me smile which I greatly appreciated. I wasn't all that hungry so I chose to have a piece of banana bread and a cup of fruit. Seems simple but that banana bread was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend. My husband had the skillet, my mom had the scramble, and my dad had the breakfast sandwich. We all loved what we had. This is a tiny place with a time limit on tables so it's not a place you can enjoy a leisurely brunch. But honestly, that's OK! We will be back.

Yelp
Tried this place for breakfast. Quick, friendly service. Enjoyed our breakfast. We had the veggie omelet and the Corn beef sweet potato hash. The hash was out of this world delicious!
google avatar

Bruce S.

Yelp
Great breakfast. I had the scramble with my gluten free toast. Perfectly flavored and pure perfection. The wait staff was just awesome. Acceptable ambience for breakfast.

John D.

Yelp
Disappointed this time. They do have NA mimosas (which came out after the food, and took 3 asks to get them all). Server, unfortunately seemed like it may have been early in her career, wasn't great. Food was sparse for the price, I think they're smaller than last time. We were wondering why it had been so long since we were here, now we remember why.
google avatar

Yelp
What a shining star in the Louisville restaurant scene! Short ribs Benedict were a hit as their huge cinnamon loaf, not really a muffin. Personable service.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Pricey but worth it. Great food. Great atmosphere. Everything was delicious. Service was great. We'll be back.

Yelp
Group of 7 went for a late brunch on a Saturday before noon and only had a wait of 10 minutes until being seated since we did not have a reservation. Orders were taken and service was fast and efficient. Bustling activity to get patrons in and out based off of high demand so this is not a venue to sit and linger for leisurely dining, which is expected for a pleasant weather weekend in late spring. I ordered the fried Brussel sprout salad, which also includes mustard-sherry-bacon vinaigrette, strawberries, red onion, Marcona almonds, Capriole Farms goat cheese (yippie! via Judy Schad and her Indiana farm!), and an over medium fried egg. Delicious! Nutritious! I also ordered a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice and it was spectacular, but I failed to note the menu price and had a bit of sticker shock when the bill arrived. Oops. It was good, but not planning to repeat. Would love to return to this restaurant to try so many other enticing menu items and am hopeful it will be on a weekday to slow my roll. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but worth the effort.

Yelp
THE BEST breakfast EVERRR!! If you have not tried the egg sandwich here YOU are missing OUT!! it's the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had!! That jam on it is AMAZING!! I think about this breakfast often and wanna make the 45min drive from Etown JUST for this sandwich!!!!

Yelp
Met a friend for brunch here at noon on a Saturday. Love that they take reservations through OpenTable! Parking lot was full so street parking was necessary. The restaurant was cute inside. It was very busy so we were happy for the reservation. The pricing for a brunch menu is $$$. I'd say equal to if not greater than Le Moo - with more expensive beverages. For that reason alone, I wouldn't return. The food was good enough, the service was friendly enough, but the experience was not worth a $20+ price tag per person for brunch imo.

Yelp
Morning fork was an amazing stop for brunch to celebrate our bestie bride-to-be. The fun part was that their Saturday brunches are themed and we came prepared by wearing some cute leis. We sat outside on the patio. It was a tight squeeze for our party. We did have a reservation so my hope would have been we'd all fit comfortably. Our servers were kind but we didn't see them too often for them to check in on us. We had to reach out to someone to ask about a friend's food and our checks. It's a busy Saturday so it's totally understandable. I got the avocado toast which came with fruit and poached eggs which were super yummy. Not pictured we're the yummy mimosas that complimented the meal.

Yelp
I went to morning fork about a year ago with some friends and loved it, so when we wanted to a girls brunch again we knew we wanted to come back. The reason we originally decided to go to this place, over the plethora of brunch options in Louisville, was because it allows you to make a reservation(uncommon for brunch)!! We booked via open table. Food was amazing, staff was beyond lovely, one of the best avocado toasts I have ever had. There is a small parking lot for about ten cars and street parking if no room in the lot.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
I had the short rib eggs Benedict, and it was very tasty and filling. My Wife enjoyed the chickens and waffle. I even convinced her to give me a bite. lol Service and the venue were perfect. We will definitely be returning soon!
google avatar

Cathy F.

Yelp
Went for the 90s brunch and everything was perfect! We had a large party, and they had our table all set up when we arrived. Our server was super nice, funny, and prompt. They had a lot of drink and food choices. I recommend the double mimosa to start out with! I got the avocado toast that comes with poached eggs and fruit. If you get the pancakes, they are huge! My brother loved them. My son enjoyed the classic eggs Benedict. Everything was so good! Definitely a fun place to go for brunch.
google avatar

Mallory B.

Yelp
This was such a lovely brunch. The brick walls and big windows make the space very inviting. The food was absolutely delicious. We loved everything we got. I love biscuits and gravy and these are some of the best if not the best I've had in the city! And the side portion was huge! Coffee was good, on the bitter side so some may not like that. The Passionate for Prosecco drink had edible glitter and was beautiful and delicious and very strong. Make a reservation to be sure you get in, I was able to make one for the same day. Our waitress Andrea was great and had great recommendations and was quick to get us everything we needed. The food looked beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. See the pics for everything we got.
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Sat outside on a nice day, it was quite busy inside and seemed like a decent place for larger groups. As busy as this place was, it really wasn't too memorable. The menu was okay, food was just okay for what it was. Thought $5 for coffee was pretty steep for a regular drip coffee at a brunch place.
google avatar

Adam F.

Yelp
Service was great! Even with a long line we were seated quickly. The drinks, food, and lively atmosphere made a great brunch!

Katie G.

Yelp
(Review written by my 13 year old) What's up sigmas! This morning we went to Morning Fork, and it was so cutesy.. so demure. I would first like to note that the portions were gigantic and not even my big back could finish it! That's impressive, but anyways! I would like to specially shout out the skibidii slay BANANA French toast! Ate. That. UP queen!! Like - it was actually so good and the texture was indescribably soft and dense. The service was somewhat fast, and it overall this place was very demure (very cutesy!). So, with much thought and consideration, I would like to officially award the Morning Fork with the Stamp of Slay! Period sigma rizzlers!

Yelp
I had a chance to have a Saturday brunch at Morning Fork while I was in town. I did have a mimosa which was really good which is not pictured. For food I ordered the savory crepe. It was really delicious. Very flavorful. Everyone really enjoyed their food and I heard this is a go to brunch spot in Louisville. The service was excellent and the prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Very good food Our server was great Modified skillet and oatmeal was the choices for today. Super good The atmosphere is great also

Yelp
Morning Fork was a nice local option for delicious food. I got the Short Rib Benedict and a refreshing Mimosa. The staff was warm and welcoming

Yelp
Glad to have finally visited this place! It's the former space of North End Cafe. They've modernized the room a bit. We had made a reservation for 10:15 on Saturday morning since we didn't know how busy it would be. There were a lot of people but it wasn't slammed. Didn't seem like there was a wait for a table. We got seated right away. My friends ordered mimosas while I opted for a juice called kale yeah. I can't remember the price of the mimosas but they were cheap! And you get a good amount of it too. I liked my juice. Not all that sweet and not tart at all. I'd recommend it! It had kale, cucumbers, apples, and lime. From the menu, we tried the banana bread to share. They warmed it up, adding butter to the top. Delicious! And a nice crunch around the edges. It was recommended by our waiter and truly is something to come back for. For the entrees, my friends both got the MF'n breakfast sandwich which had eggs, candied bacon, some kind of jelly, and cheese. I got the scramble (eggs, avocado, pico, chorizo, cheese) which came with 2 hash browns. The food was delicious! Very filling and lots of protein. The only drawback is that it was too simplistic for the price... Our waiter was great though! Friendly and told us what she liked from the menu. She gave us really good suggestions. The vibe is pretty chill. Music was playing in the background and there are TV screens showing sports at the bar. They do have their own parking lot, but I seem to perpetually forget it exists. You can find parallel parking easily.

Yelp
Did eat something...will come back for that...great location...good menu..fairly priced..clean..very friendly staff...will be back!! They are also pet friendly!

Yelp
Delicious brunch dishes and excellent service in a quaint location. The cinnamon roll is a must!
google avatar

Yelp
Took the family to Morning Fork for Sunday brunch. We started with the cinnamon roll, mimosa and bloody Mary's. We then had skillet meal, savory crepes, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs with a side of sausage. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was very good. The homemade sausage was great.
google avatar

Yelp
Sometimes you just need a good solid breakfast. That's when morning Fork hits the spot. i've been there now a few times with friends. And it's not disappointed. There was one weekend where it was New Year's brunch. There was another weekend where it was 90s themed. Lastly it was just a weekend to have brunch. Each time was special in its own way. I love their themed breakfast is because they do cocktails and dishes to fit the theme. But even the days that aren't themed have stellar food. I've really appreciated the slice of French toast and grits. There's also a grits bowl which has been really lovely and savory on those days that you want something more satisfying. I really appreciate Morning Fork and it's not too far from my neck of the woods. It's a good experience every time.
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
Omg. Get the biscuits and gravy! These were perfect. Service was polite and personable, and made sure to get our order put in before a very large party's so that we didn't have to wait very long. The only issue is... it's very hard to hear anything because sound carries like crazy and the ladies with lots of mimosas get very very loud. Also, reasonably priced and large portions!
google avatar

Marietta M.

Yelp
We were in Louisville for the PGA Championship and found this place, and WOW, the food and service are both so good! I highly recommend!!

Ian M.

Yelp
Food was very expensive, food was okay but service was awful. Felt rushed and unwanted. After we left, i went back to use the restroom and I overheard them talking crap about our group about how we were poor.
google avatar

Erika B.

Yelp
Loved the food, service, and atmosphere! The MF'n breakfast sandwich was sooo good. Their cinnamon rolls and fresh orange juice are amazing too! Our waitress so sweet and attentive. We will be back!

Nikki M.

Yelp
Took the family for birthday brunch and they had a Harry Potter themed menu and cocktails. Service was great, food was fresh and delicious, and the brunch cocktails were perfect!
google avatar

Susan R.

Yelp
The atmosphere, service and vibe were perfect! On a roadtrip and needed a wonderful and delicious brunch spot! The Fork definitely delivered! Highly recommend. Says the bar, bartender was most excellent!

Samantha D.

Yelp
Overall, the "experience" is ok. You could say the host was nice and the food runner who dropped our food off literally "dropped" our food on the table. We ordered the skillet which looked delicious in the picture but really it's a hand-sized skillet and cooked ground beef with corn, veggies and some guacamole and eggs on top. I'd prefer regular potatoes over the sweet potatoes. We also ordered the sweet crepe which was disappointing because I've had amazing crepes and this one just brought the bar down so low. Lastly, the iced coffee drinks are nothing special. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee and it was not anything remotely close to a Vietnamese iced coffee - a fraud. So, for two SMALL skillets, crepe and iced coffees, it came to $75. Probably worth $30 at best. Overpriced, small portions and underwhelming. #overated

Yelp
We had a reservation since we had 6 people. We were able to get the reservation just a day beforehand which was nice. Once seated, the waitress was beyond attentive; continuously checking in on us and giving refills. The service was 10/10! The food ordered varied. The table ordered 2 giant cinnamon rolls, which was more than enough food for 6 of us! We also ordered French toast, sausage, eggs and a smash burger. The food came out quickly and was delicious! The restaurant itself had plenty of room for large and small parties. It was a good volume for people to have a quiet breakfast or a celebration! If you're in Louisville this is definitely a spot to check out!

Yelp
Can't believe this is my first time making it to morning fork - it's definitely a delight. Do not miss it! I had the savory crepe which absolutely blew my socks off. It's one of the most unique brunch dishes I've had in Louisville - a fluffy soft crepe with Brie, Granny Smith apples, and arugula nestled inside, and a drizzle of hot honey and balsamic on top. Several of my favorite things combined for a craveable flavor explosion that I'll quickly be coming back for more of. The cream cheese-smothered cinnamon roll is a rich shareable favorite, there's a drink choice for everyone, and the staff is welcoming and attentive. They offer morning and evening happy hours, so be sure to take advantage!
google avatar

Aswathi C.

Yelp
Bunch of average food unfortunately. We tried the avocado toast (not worth it).. yogurt parfait (just not tasty).. pancake (with cornflour) was ok. Mimosa was not tasty either, or the Irish coffee. The French toast with banana bread was good.. that's about it.

Yelp
Reservations required for Saturday/Sunday brunch--I don't think that's technically true, but if you plan on walking in, there's a good chance you won't get a table. You may be able to fill in at the bar (first come, first serve) but we went at 10:30 on a Saturday and it was packed with no available tables until 2:30. We waited about 35 min for bar seating to open up. They're open 7-3 so if you're an early riser, you could try first thing, but I would just plan ahead and make a reservation so you can move at your own pace. The food is great, fresh ingredients and good size portions, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
3.5 Solid breakfast/brunch place. Not my favorite but it is good and has a lot of options so i would want to go back again to try some other dishes. Not a fancy looking place but it does seem cute to go here when the weather is nice to sit outside. Service was fine. Food: Short rib benedict - good but lacking flavor, my boyfriend and i definitely thought it needed help with salt and pepper Biscuits and gravy - good and went well with the short rib to add some of that flavor we needed Mf breakfast sandwich - i liked that it was salty and sweet which i normally don't go for but it was tasty and done well Tomato basil soup - if this came out hot it would've been 10x better because this was actually our favorite dish with the grilled cheese but it was luke warm. This was rich in flavor and not overly heavy or watery
