Morosos is a family favorite. We love their Neapolitan pizzas!! My husband always gets a meatball appetizer and bread. I had a raspberry martini and it was delicious. Their fettuccine is excellent and my son just tried their shrimp scampi linguine and he said it was a new favorite.

I’ve eaten at Moroso many times over the years, and I’ve always had a great experience. Last night I ordered whipped ricotta and the Bolognese lasagna and let me tell you… quite possibly the best lasagna I’ve ever eaten! They also have fantastic, cocktails, and chef specials, along with a menu that changes from time to time. Always friendly staff, and great service!

Google
The contadino pizza was delicious. The bucatini with meatballs was good, but it could use more sauce. The blue corn pancakes were good as well. They seem like a naturally dryer pancake, but with the whipped cream and honey, it was nice. I personally would add a side of syrup or honey if they have it.

This place is really amazing! The service was top tier! They have gluten free options, I was able to get an Appetizer, Meal, and Dessert. The Whipped Ricotta with Gluten-free chips was very good, the Americano Pizza with Gluten-free crust was even better, and Oh my goodness the Gluten-free Torte was to die for. Highly recommend!

Google
2nd time here and everything was great! I wanted something more traditional and had the Bucatini with Meat Balls in Marinara. Very good! Everyone at the table enjoyed their dishes and the Gluten-free free pasta was excellent! For desert we all had the Flour less Chocolate Torte with Vanilla Ice Cream. Delicious! The Expresso was spot on!

16 of our group enjoyed, salads, appetizers and pizza. Great taste, amazing service, all though they were busy food arrived quickly and just as requested. They recently opened a coffee spot across in same complex,my daughter enjoyed her coffee from the place. We all enjoyed our Sunday brunch and we will be back.

As my wife says, everything we get at Moroso’s, every time, is always good! Tonight we had the special — Texas King Prawns with pistachio risotto. It was a good as anything we’ve gotten in Italy or Croatia. It is worthy of what we would have eaten at a Michelin star restaurant! Chef Dan has created a masterpiece!

Google
Loved this place & my kids loved it even more! I went last night with my two kids, the server was so kind and patient. My son is so impatient and talkative yet, the server brung them both pizza dough to play with, they loved it! Distracted them while our dinner was freshly made! This is the first time I feel like we have received a fine dining experience over pizza. We will definitely be back, everyone was so nice and attentive, the owner even stopped to make sure that the kids and I were doing well thank you so much for this great spot,& thank you John (server), you drew my kids in and they’re so excited to come back!

Yelp
Came here for dinner while in Waco visiting. Family owned restaurant with a friendly staff. Nice ambiance and a busy restaurant for a summer Wednesday evening. We got their special bread with Marinara sauce and that was a meal in itself. See the picture. We shared a nice ceaser salad and the eggplant parmigiana which 1/2 was grilled eggplant. The food was great. The owner sat at our table and we gabbed for 1/2 hour. Overall great evening!

Yelp
Moroso's Italian Restaurant: A Solid "Meh" with a Side of Style We were excited to try Moroso's in Waco, heard good things, and walking in, the place looked the part. Clean, cozy, good lighting... but oddly quiet. No music. Just the sound of forks, conversation, and my expectations slowly lowering. Now to the good stuff: The staff? Super kind and attentive no complaints there. And presentation-wise, the food came out looking like it was ready for a photoshoot. A+ for plating. I started with the Mista Salad and honestly, it was the high point. Fresh, crisp, tangy--full of flavor. It made me believe the pizza was going to blow me away. My husband and son had the Caesar Salad--my son jazzed his up with banana peppers (which they accommodated, props for that), but my husband felt the dressing was underwhelming. More of a "meh-sar" than a Caesar. Then came the pizza... I had the Margherita. Visually? Gorgeous. But then it hit my taste buds: cold, under-sauced, and lacking any real flavor punch. And the crust? I was hoping for crispy magic... instead, it was kind of just there. My husband had the Supremo--flavor was decent, but again, it was served cold and missing that satisfying crunch. My son had the Americano, and sadly, it followed the same cold, crust-lacking theme. Honestly, for the price, I expected more. I've had hotter, better-seasoned pizza at my local hometown spot--and for way less than what we spent here. Final verdict: 3 out of 5. Come for the ambiance (minus the music), stay for the salad, and lower your expectations for the pizza. Or at least bring a mini space heater for your slice.

Yelp
We called to see if they had room for a large party last minute on a Friday since we had a little less than 2 hours between horse show events across the street. They took us immediately and Sofia provided amazing service for the 8 of us. Drinks were delicious, bruschetta and brussel sprouts were quick and so yummy. We had both ravioli dishes, two different salads and three pizzas. Everything was great and we got out in time to make our event. Even the owner/manager stopped by to say hello. This was my first time in Waco but this restaurant will definitely be on repeat the next time we are here.

Yelp
We found this place by way of searching for a middle meeting point for my wife to meet the kids for Mother's Day. I am glad we did, the food was pretty good, I do wish there was more pasta options, but it was Mother's Day brunch, and I still had the pizza. The pizza was pretty good and I'd get that again. Service was great even on a busy Mothers Day. The outside does not give the inside justice, and we were surprised how nice inside was setup for the size of the lot it was on. We would be back if we are back in the area again.

Yelp
One of our most favorite Italian places in Waco! Mr. Dan is the most genuine and hospitable person who always stops by our table to say hello and check on our family! The food is fresh and featured items change with the seasons. The ambiance is one of friendship, connection, and enjoyment. The artisan bread is one of our favorite appetizers!

Cindy H.

Yelp
Excellent lavender elderflower martinis, bread, delicious brussel sprouts, bruschetta and pizza. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
So far this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Waco. The food is delicious and pizza is a stand out. I have been twice and both times I will say the food comes out slow because they are busy. So I wouldn't recommend this place on a casual dining, more of a date night vibe. First time I sat at the bar looking at the pizza oven which was amazing. The stand out dish is the pesto pizza, I rarely see a pesto pizza and the one here is border line perfect. My only criticism would be I wish it was crispier. The crust is slightly charred which I love. Overall, one of the best atmospheres and pizza in Waco for a date night or long dinner vibe.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch was amazing. Service was very good. Breakfast pizza and blue corn pancakes were delicious but needed more fruit with pancakes. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Love this place! We used to come in occasionally but since moving into town it's on the regular rotation. Warm atmosphere, not pretentious. Service is always good, friendly and courteous. The food is what makes it a must visit. Always flavorful and I can't think of a better word than yummy!

Yelp
Very nice waitress who was incredibly attentive without being annoying. We were meeting an old friend after years and spent 3 hours having dinner. We didn't feel pressure to hurry along at all. We had a Negroni and Italian Margarita. Both well balanced cocktails that were perfect. My only comment would be for them to let guests know the Margarita comes standard with a salt rim and to confirm they want it. I'm so used to restaurants advising if/when a drink has a rim on it... that I did not assume it would come that way because there was no mention of it. My bad on the assumption, I understand, but still would be good customer service to mention the salt rim and/or confirm if they want a sugar rim or no rim instead. Appetizer of meatballs, we started with. The meatballs are excellent. One of the best I've had. 4 to the plate. The sauce a tad salty, but hardly noticeable. For dinner we shared the Classico pizza. I haven't a complaint about it. Excellent flavors melded together. Their dough is phenomenal. If I lived locally I'd be here once a month for a pizza.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. So good. We'll be back. Real and authentic. Great proportions for the prices! Service was good and the atmosphere is very quaint. Great for a date night or dinner with guest/friends!

Yelp
Moroso was amazing ! I loved making the reservation ahead of time and I was so happy that my family and I got seated right away ! The food is fresh and served and platted well. I got the eggplant Parmesan and a Cesar salad my family got the oven wood fired pizza and tomato soup. I loved how friendly our waitress was and I was so happy with the taste of the meal. I would definitely come back !

Yelp
Always great food! Service is just right, no being ignored or being bothered every few minutes. Great environment and the place to take that special person.

Yelp
What an amazing find in Waco. My wife came across this restaurant on TripAdvisor. We dined on Sunday and enjoyed their brunch menu. Service was excellent and the food was great. They seem to be know for their pizza so I had the breakfast pizza. Deserts were wonderful too.

Nicole M.

Yelp
This was an excellent find when we needed a quick dinner. Thankfully they were able to seat us (def recommend a reservation)! Quaint setting. Sunday brunch and coffee also highly recommended!

Yelp
Small quaint space with lots of dim romantic lighting. I attempted to order pick up but was transferred by the hostess three times to no one picking up. So I decided to dine in, told the hostess who seemed unbothered by it. Tried the lobster ravioli - sauce was great but nothing about the dish was memorable. The honey bear pizza - overall taste was great but the middle of the pizza was falling apart due to the thin watery sauce. Lastly tried the bada bing shrimp which was really flavorful and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. Worth another try but different dishes next time.

Yelp
What a beautiful space and location! This was the perfect setting for a yummy meal after a long busy day. The food was quite good -- I had the fettuccini and was very pleased! The pasta was fresh and the garlic cream sauce was exquisite. Servers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Portions were adequate, but were smaller than I expected. However, that meant that I left the restaurant satisfied and not stuffed.

Yelp
We love Moroso's!! We enjoyed another fantastic meal at Moroso's. We started with the Bruschetta which was an explosion of flavors. My husband had the shrimp scampi, which is the best we've ever had! I had the pesto pizza, which was also delicious. Our waiter, Austin, was excellent. Of course Dan, the owner, is always so friendly and cares deeply that all customers are happy. We love this place! We give it a 10 out of 10 stars!

Yelp
Reserving ahead is a must- but don't let that deter you! The limited seating creates an ideal date atmosphere. Our waitress, Pam, offered fantastic tips, and we'll look for her in the future. The food was delicious. With summer heat topping routinely topping 100, our appetites were small, but the bit of food we ordered delivered big on flavor. We enjoyed a very lightly battered shrimp in a chili aioli sauce as an appetizer. Not spicy. Yum. Next, we split my dream salad....ughh... I cannot recall the name, but it was the one that starts with an "f". Greens, fennel, candied walnuts, and Gorgonzola amongst other ingredients. While eating, we noticed something coming out of the oven to other tables that looked roughly like a calzone. Marinara alongside for dipping. Pam told us that it was an olive oil and herb infused bread appetizer. We ordered that to enhance our salad. Hubby enjoyed the drink special. It was cold, pink, and delicious. Sadly, our tummies were too satisfied to order a main after these delights. Pam suggested splitting a dessert and recommended the seasonal peach sorbet. Sold! Now my honey keeps saying at end of every meal at home, "If only we had a bit of homemade peach sorbet..." After leaving Pam a well-earned 20%, the bill only came to about $72. That seemed just right for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. Our kids come into town in a couple of weeks. We have already reserved their spot, and we plan to send them out on a date night together on us. This is definitely a new favorite spot. Try it yourself, but don't forget to make that reservation!

Yelp
From out of town so picked this spot with promising menu and reviews, it did not disappoint. We ordered crispy Brussels sprouts and it's easily the best ones we've had, and we almost always order it if the restaurant offers it. It's crispy but not burnt. It has the perfect balance between salty and sweet. It tastes like it also has some chili oil flavor which was a nice twist. We also ordered the arugula salad with grilled chicken, pizza, and sweet potato gnocchi. All are really good, I really appreciate salad done right, it was not soggy nor oily. Sweet potato gnocchi was addictive, perfect texture and flavor that highlights the beauty of sweet potato, very creative. Our server was very sweet and nice. The ambiance was modern too, love open kitchen concept.

Yelp
Food was ok, horrible experience with the hostess & manager. We made reservations for an early birthday dinner. They sat a family with three children under 5 with all three kids screaming and acting up. We were inches away from each other and there was a similar 4 top on the other side of the dining room. Seeing this I went to the hostess and asked if we could move. The very young and dismissive hostess said no, that table had a reservation. I answered that so did we and the table next us was as a bit much with all three kids acting and screaming. They didn't try to accommodate and were so rude and dismissive in their manner. By the time we had our check that empty table was finally being seated. How you treat your customers is as important as the quality of food. My chicken fettuccine was ok, not nearly as good as the description so this is not a place I would return to and frankly I doubt they care. There are better pizza and pasta options so save yourself the trip to this one,

Yelp
My fav pizza place in dfw is Pizzeria Testa , but I had pizza from Moroso and I have to say I was floored ! Everything was magnificent!! I do think they got their ingredients from the same vendor in Italy, because it's very similar! But Moroso won!!! And I'm a pizza snob

Yelp
We are from San Diego, daughter at Baylor and big foodies. We've only been to Waco 4 times this far and have eaten here two times. That also says a lot as we love to try new places. We met the owners both times, super great couple. The food, all of it has been very good. The Bruschetta is my daughter's favorite. The kid who hates vegetables and especially tomatoes, asks to go mostly for the bruschetta. But seriously this place is top notch.

Yelp
Amazing food & service! Our waiter John was very kind & accommodating! The bread appetizer was phenomenal as well as our entrees!

Yelp
Drove all the way from Nebraska to Texas and needed a good meal and a cold drink. Pizza was outstanding. Drinks were amazing as well. I got the Vesuvio pizza and an Italian margarita. We visited for my birthday, so we got a small birthday scoop of salted caramel gelato. The most scrumptious ending to our meal. The owner even came around to the tables to get to know his customers and tell us about his business. Would love to come again someday!

Yelp
Excellent Italian restaurant in Waco. Great service, great atmosphere, high-quality food, great drinks and a creative menu. As a native of Italy, this place was excellent. Authentic menu selections. We came here after 5PM on a week night and we were one of three occupied tables. We ordered the Tri-color salad, rice balls, and of course Pizza.

Yelp
A higher scale option in Waco for Italian. Great food, good ambience and great service!

Yelp
The most amazing wood fire pizza ever! People were outstanding and it's a must go to in Waco!

Yelp
Moroso Italian Ristorante, what an amazing find in Waco, TX! Thanks to the great Google reviews (that were spot on) and the fortunate proximity of looking for a new dining experience near by. We pulled in just as they opened and were seated and greeted quickly with friendly, engaged and professional service. Within 30 minutes of being seated, the restaurant was full. They were fully staffed with the team executing their duties with expertise, and efficiently. Our beverages, appetizers, to main course came out fast, with just the right spacing between servings. The craft cocktails were particularly good from my wife's perspective, which is rare to find in Waco. The owner took time to greet our table, with genuine engagement, sharing their story and perspective on their incredible menu that is truly remarkable. The ingredients are sourced locally, to Italy that bring their menu to life. The meat balls were some of the best we've found anywhere in Texas. Our mains consisted of fresh salmon and duroc pork chops accompanied with generous sides of brussel sprouts, mushroom couscous, sweet potatoes and arugula. Perfectly paired sides, with incredible flavor profiles that will make any foodie want seconds! We look forward to working through their menu over the next couple of months! Bravo, Moroso Italian Ristorante, well done!!

Yelp
Great ambiance! Cute decor. The service was very quick and our waitress was very attentive. The flavor of the pizzas were great, although the crust was more like store bought gluten free crust and nothing like the Neapolitan style pizzas they offer to people without allergies. Penne was delicious and cooked great. Overall, would visit again. Just don't expect Neapolitan style if you have allergies.
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
Apparently you need a reservation to eat here. If you don't have one, which is not posted anywhere on their site, then you'll be greeted with a rude Hostess with no personality. Us peasants will go somewhere else now.

Yelp
We arrived fairly early on a Friday night but without a reservation had to sit outside. The drinks from the bar were great but the food was average. We had a charcuterie board and then shared a pizza as our entree.

Yelp
Arancini is on point. Great service & their pizza options definitely keep us coming back. Nice wine selection as well!

Yelp
Second time visiting this local pizza place. It's in a small business center near a fitness place so parking could be tricky. Stopped by on Tuesday before 6pm and this place was busy. They had reservations for tables out one hour but there was ample seating at the pizza station (not sure what that's called) and the "community table". Oddly enough though there were plenty of empty tables and lots of staff so not sure what the dealio was with seating me at a table. The inside is really nice and you can see the pizza oven right when you walk in the door. It had warm lighting, brick walls, hardwood floors and reminded me of a pizza joint I once visited in Seattle and a place in Austin on north Lamar that closed several years ago. At any rate, the service was prompt, attentive, and the pizza was delicious. The crust was spot on and the sauce had good flavor. They did have vegetarian options such as salads, pizzas, and entrees. They had one IPA on draft. I had the chocolate torte to go and finished it too quickly to take a photo. It had a dense fudgy texture but was not overly sweet. It was delicious. Yummy! Pricing was in there and I think for pizza, two draft beers, and dessert I was $30-$35 before tip. So affordable to moderate pricing. I definitely think this place is worth a visit.

Yelp
Best Italian food around Texas and possibly the entire Midwest! Love this place and will be back

Yelp
My family and I stopped by on our way home from Austin. We each ordered pizza and appetizers, brussel sprouts and cesar salad. My son had gluten free pizza and the rest of us got the supremo. Everything was delicious. Service was on point and atmosphere was cozy. Definitely will make it a point to stop whenever we go down to Austin

Yelp
After researching which pizza place locals in the area love, we found Moroso's. We walked in on a super busy evening for take out. It was so busy that as soon as we walked into their cramped crowded location they asked us, "hi, do you have a reservation?", we told them we wanted to place a take out order. Me and my husband waited outside for our pizza and salad, took it home, and thought it was pretty great. Despite being slighly burnt and lacking a great amount of sauce, it was tasty. I'm sure we can always order extra sauce next time, and it might've been made that way due to the high volume of customers. They had to have been flying through orders best they could. We were looking for something fresh, and not floating in grease - this place delivered on that. We were a bit confused why the to go container to mix the salad and dressing in was messy for us, but we made it work. (Some places have better to go salad and dressing containers for customers to mix it in themselves at home, in a car, etc). Otherwise, we look forward to coming back another time.

Yelp
This restaurant had a more casual side of classy feel upon entrance. I tried the Wild Hog Pizza and it was pretty good. I'm not sure if it's the owner or manager, but a gentleman walked around asking everybody if their experience was okay. Definitely going to return to try other menu options

Yelp
Came from Chicago and Went here for dinner while visiting our son who's at Baylor. First off, was this an old motel that they turned into a restaurant and shops?!? If so, that's a genius idea! Anyways, inside, the ambiance is beautiful. We had early reservations and were seated immediately. I love that they have a kids menu: with food my 6 year old actually loves to eat. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered the bruschetta and artisan bread for appetizers. The bread was so unique! The bruschetta was good: could use some sea salt on it but it was very tasty! My youngest ordered a kids pepperoni pizza, husband got the Capri pizza and my oldest son got the Supremo pizza. I got the Caesar salad and planned to eat pieces of their pizza The salad was great: dressing had a lemony zing about it. The kids pizza was perfect size. My husbands was delicious! The supreme tasted delicous but it was very soggy in the middle from all the toppings so the second he picked it up, it all fell off. He folded it and took a bite and there are giant slices of salami on it: so when he pulled away, all the toppings got pulled off again. Again, it was delicious, just very difficult to eat. We ordered cannolis for dessert. The filling had a cinnamon-y flavor to it that I was surprised to taste. As an Italian American family from Chicago, we're pretty picky about cannolis and this was pretty good. The shells were perfect! My oldest had the lemon gelato and said it was amazing. All in all, it was a good place for dinner! We'll be back with the bigger family when here for graduation.

Yelp
We came to Waco from California and had dinner here. It was such an amazing experience. It felt very family like here. The food and drinks were very tasty. The owner visited our table and was very pleasant to chat too. A fantastic experience!

Yelp
Came in on Ladies Night. Half priced wine and free appetizers. Which included pasta salad, deviled eggs and sliders. Wait staff was great, friendly and attentive. Main meals included pizza, pollo de piccata and lasagna. Food was decently portioned and very delicious. One of our favorite spots in Waco so far. Appetizers: Burrata and meatballs Dinner: Americano & Vesuvio Pizza, Lasgna, Pollo de Piccata

Yelp
Disappointed. We've been there a few times and loved it so I wanted to go there for my birthday dinner. The food was bland and the service was awful. It took forever to order and we didn't get everything we ordered and the server never came to our table after he took our order, ever! He walked past us tons of times and never acknowledged us. He was way to slammed and he never should have had that many tables. Three different people had to help us and close us out. He's lucky we left him 15% tip. This part is the 20 year food servicer in me but I saw a server pour a bottle of wine to the table next to us and she did it all wrong. People just aren't trained the right way anymore. This place wants to be high end, they need to act like it and step it up.
google avatar

Cornelius B.

Yelp
The pizza I got was a wild hog pizza which is their version of a bbq chicken. It was pretty good tho I wasn't a big fan of the Cole slaw on top that didn't really add much flavor to the dish but added a nice crunch. If I order this pizza again I would ask for the pizza without but everything I else was on par. The service was good and the ambience is really calm and inviting. Really good place for a date night.

Yelp
Came in last night , and once again everything we had was amazing . Truly the only place in Waco we have ever had great service and great food every time we come in .

Yelp
Legit good Neapolitan style pizza. I've had the original artisanal pizzas in Napoli, IT and this comes close. Crust is what shines here with the perfect balance of crisp and doughy. Fresh, juicy, not too acidic tomato sauce is also hard to get right, but they nail it!
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
Stopped by as we were driving through and my wife and I were blown away by this restaurant! We enjoyed great wine, appetizers (caprese salad and brussel sprouts) and each had our own pizza. Everything was great, including the service. We will be back!

Yelp
Italy is right in the middle of Waco, TX! Dan Moroso did not start out casually to make a pizza. His grandparents immigrated from the old country and he fell in love. He went to a lot of extra study and effort to source ingredients directly from Italy (the home of pizza). The flour is 00 grind from a mill in Naples and is both organic and gluten-free. The tomatoes are from Mt. Vesuvius region with the ash soil in that area providing the exact taste of Italy we all deserve. This was our 1st trip here and it was just spectacular! The wood-fired pizza is the spotlight, although his bread and other dishes shine like diamonds. We had the Figaro pizza along with the Contadino. Both were equally right on and special We also had the prosciutto wrapped prawns and the Arancini (fried risotto balls), and it's one of the best shrimp dishes I've had. What guy doesn't love bacon, especially ultra thin sliced from Italy? The risotto balls were also yummy. Then, the desert menu came out. We did take 1/2 of each pizza home, lol. The Tiramisu was a new item Dan studied and had many requests for. It's not the lady finger soaked cookies the American Italian restaurants offer, it's the real thing in a tall martini glass with layers and a homemade truffle on top. The Affogato was Texas Pecan homemade gelato with an expresso shot poured over it. Holy Cow! This was the BOMB!! My goodness, it took my breath away! It's a must try! If Dan added an option for a bit of Kailua, it would kick it up one more notch. If you are in the mood for pizza or Italian food, and can plan a reservation, this is the place to go! With COVID, reservations keep folks from packing around the doors. They used to have 2 hour lines out front, no kidding! Please try this if you've lived in Waco all your life or visiting. You won't be disappointed, trust me! Ciao!

Yelp
We ended up here after traveling all day and had no reservation. Luckily they had what they call the "community table" so we opted to sit here instead of waiting 2+ hours on a table. I am so glad we did, we were in & out within a little over an hour and we enjoyed our experience here. We ordered two pizzas - the supremo & the americano as well as two orders of the Alfredo. We did the artisan bread & the bada bing shrimp as our appetizers. The Alfredo was average but we really enjoyed the rest of our meal and the service was great.

Yelp
I've been to Waco many times for work travel but this was actually my first time here. I am mad that I didn't come sooner lol! This place is AWESOME! The ambiance is very nice! We started off with the meatballs and burrata. The meatballs were super tender and the sauce had so much flavor! The burrata was also delicious and so fresh. The balsamic really complimented the mozzarella. For our entrees we had an artisan, wood-fired, Neapolitan style pizza and picked the Contadino! The contadino has tomato, italian sausage, crispy pancetta, sopressata, pepperoni, and fresh mozzarella. Best pizza I've had in a while! You can tell this place is authentic and that they use fresh ingredients because the pizza was so delicious! The pizza is split into 4 slices and I only ate 2, so you could easily share one pizza with another person. The restaurant also offers other Italian dishes based on family recipes but we did not get a chance to try them during this visit. Overall, delicious authentic Italian food, fair prices (nothing expensive like in the Dallas area), great ambiance, attentive and friendly staff! This will be one of my regular visits during my next work trip.
