Moroso's Italian Restaurant: A Solid "Meh" with a Side of Style
We were excited to try Moroso's in Waco, heard good things, and walking in, the place looked the part. Clean, cozy, good lighting... but oddly quiet. No music. Just the sound of forks, conversation, and my expectations slowly lowering.
Now to the good stuff:
The staff? Super kind and attentive no complaints there. And presentation-wise, the food came out looking like it was ready for a photoshoot. A+ for plating.
I started with the Mista Salad and honestly, it was the high point. Fresh, crisp, tangy--full of flavor. It made me believe the pizza was going to blow me away.
My husband and son had the Caesar Salad--my son jazzed his up with banana peppers (which they accommodated, props for that), but my husband felt the dressing was underwhelming. More of a "meh-sar" than a Caesar.
Then came the pizza...
I had the Margherita. Visually? Gorgeous. But then it hit my taste buds: cold, under-sauced, and lacking any real flavor punch. And the crust? I was hoping for crispy magic... instead, it was kind of just there.
My husband had the Supremo--flavor was decent, but again, it was served cold and missing that satisfying crunch. My son had the Americano, and sadly, it followed the same cold, crust-lacking theme.
Honestly, for the price, I expected more. I've had hotter, better-seasoned pizza at my local hometown spot--and for way less than what we spent here.
Final verdict: 3 out of 5.
Come for the ambiance (minus the music), stay for the salad, and lower your expectations for the pizza. Or at least bring a mini space heater for your slice.
