The story you are about to read is true. This is the town, Lake Mary, Florida. My name is Skacey. I carry a beer.
4:50 pm. Saturday. My partner and I are continuing our chili investigation at Morris Market. Today's event is all the chili you can eat for half a saw buck and beers for a buck and a half. We sit down to a few bowls and a couple of brews while we check out the local shops.
Now the market itself is part of the new culture of grow it here, buy it here. You will find locally grown and produced vegetables, meats, honey and cheeses. Also a selection of environmentally friendly packaged food. The food looks good and is well presented. The community feel is very strong (reminds me of living in Seattle :-)
The only limitation is that if this is a cause you wish to support, it only makes sense if you live in the neighborhood. Traveling 30 minutes to reduce your carbon footprint is ironic in the traditional sense. Also, we did not find much that was truly unique, which may be more a reflection of the time of year (January) and what is currently available. Perhaps the addition of locally canned products would help?
Overall, very nice community market, if I lived here, I would probably shop here.
