Lynne Olver Built the Food Timeline. Now It Needs a New Owner. | Eater

"A regional hospital whose ICU cared for the site’s creator during the early months of her illness; the experience is recalled in anecdotes about the hospital food (a chicken cutlet with an unappealing sauce) that were even tweeted from the project’s account, and the center figures into the sequence of care that later included transfer to specialists elsewhere." - Dayna Evans

The most compassionate staff members I’ve ever come across. I was induced and the staff tried their best to ensure it was a vaginal delivery. The team of nurses, residents and my OBGYN, Dr. Green were phenomenal. Dr. Green is kind and very good at explaining what they’re doing, I was instantly calm when I found out she was going to deliver our child. I was also impressed with Dr. Sun who gave me my epidural, I didn’t feel much because he numbed the area and was so kind and considerate which helped me feel relaxed. Nurse Jazmin has a great hand when it comes to administering IVs, Nurse Angela and Nurse Samantha were great supports during push time and gave me great tips to help push the baby out fast and safely. My husband treated the entire L&D and Postpartum staff to food as a way of thanking them for looking after his baby and wife. Some general observations: the hospital has restaurant quality food, the delivery rooms are huge and recovery rooms are very comfortable. They also offer complimentary massages. Highly recommend Morristown Medical Centre.

I had a Lumbar Spine Surgery, done by "The Amazing Dr. Giordano", on 6/30/25 And I am now admitted, for observation & recovery. My medical team especially my nurse(s) are Awesome. They Truly care about their Patients Healing, Health, & Comfortably. I so appreciate them. I had a nurse w/ beautiful Gemini constellation's on her inner arm😍, I had Trish, Gillian, Antoneta, Lawrence. And an awesome P.T team. 💪🏽And the Kitchen/ Dietary are just as awesome too. Thank You to the above mentioned, & to those that I might have been "a little groggy 🥴" to remember your name💯. I definitely remember "This Beautiful Healing Experience"💯👏🏽 "☺️ I know that there is a long recovery process ahead, but this was/is a great first step.🙌🏽💯 Feeling Optimistic & Motivated ❣️💯

I was in the ER and they refused to let me eat for over 8 hours, then when I was told I could eat they wouldn’t get me anything I wasn’t allergic to. I waited all day to see a doctor to go over test results and nobody ever came. It was 2 or 3am that I finally got an answer about my tests. They kept me up all night. It was torture. Please do not come here unless you want to be verbally abused and neglected by staff. Halfway through my stay they tried to move me to a hallway even though I’d been in a room. Both rooms they put me in had dirty toilets that hadn’t been cleaned, and I was there for a kidney infection that required IV antibiotics. One nurse watched me have an anaphylactic reaction and instead of doing anything he argued with me and told me it was anxiety. These nurses need to be better trained and taught how to speak to people who are sick and suffering. The way I was treated by multiple nurses was incredibly cruel. Also, they never asked me about what medications I was on or my medical history when I initially got there. So they continuously acted surprised when I brought up the multiple chronic conditions I have. I’m appalled at how awful of an experience I had here considering their supposed good reputation. As other patients have mentioned, some of the rooms are incredibly cold in the ER and they cannot adjust the temp. I was so cold that it was making me nauseous. At one point I had 7 blankets on and was still shaking and nobody seemed to care. In another room I was forced to sleep in a bed that continuously moved and adjusted for you and could not be turned off. It hurt my back. I guess that’s better than the first night I spent in a broken bed.

I was impressed by the caring, empathetic, attentive, professional service that was given to my husband in the Emergency Department. They worked nonstop, and always warmly introduced themselves to him before treating him. They are top-notch, and I'm grateful.

Google
One of the absolute worst hospitals I've ever had the displeasure of staying at. Some of the staff may be quite kind and caring, but a vast majority seemingly hate their career and could not care less about the wellbeing of their patients. Staff treated myself and my family horribly and as if they didn't have the time of day for any of us, even after being brought in by an ambulance for possible brain damage. Will NEVER be staying here again if I can help it and will make sure to steer everyone I care about away from this joke of a medical center.

I was a patient at Morristown medical center. For a few days.a few days ago I just wanted to give a outstanding recognition. To nurse Bob Russo what a great nurse . Bob made sure I was comfortable he went the extra mile. As far as getting my pain under control.. Morristown medical center in my opinion . Is the best hospital around with nurses like Bob make the hospital outstanding by far. Bob Russo God bless you and your family. Thank you for making my stay at the hospital. Pleasant you are definitely a miracle. God bless you my friend.

Google
This hospital is a mixed bag in many respects. The nurses are terrific, getting information consistently is poor, you need to really ask on status, too many stakeholders (social workers, charge nurse, tech, rn, the usual fleet of doctors that roll through once a day) without one clear patient point of contact for information. Care is generally good but very nurse dependent as to whether you are being pushed through a process like a piece of meat or given care.

Google
My mother was sent to the emergency room Amber - July 14th with her cell phone in hand. While she was there, her cell phone was stolen by a NURSE. She saw it happen, and other nurses saw it happen and told her about it. The nurses saw this female nurse place my mom’s cell phone into her purse. As a top hospital - I think this breaks the trust of everything. If the nurse is willing to steal a patients belongings - how can I trust that she will save my mother’s life? Although I know I will not get that cell phone back - I really think there should be repercussions to the lack of empathy and taking advantage of a patient in distress.

Yelp
I had surgery at Morristown Medical Center on January 16th, 2025. I was there for 3 and a half days recovering from that surgery. I had a wonderful team of doctors and nurses who took care of me every minute and made sure I was completely comfortable and safe. I healed from the surgery perfectly, and now I'm in the recovery period. Everything has gone 100% perfectly. Shout out to Dr. Kennedy Gabre, my surgeon, and his team. It was a difficult surgery, and it was done masterfully. I was given a suite at the hospital, so my husband was able to stay with me and keep me company. I stayed at Dukovick, 0423. Nurses Toni and Rebecca are outstanding and supporting. They were both very knowledgeable, professional and sweet. I felt very comfortable with them. Natalie, their assistant, was also very nice. Every time I called, they came to see me as soon as possible, so they could answer my requests and questions. I really appreciate all the care I was given. It is because of them, their work and professionalism that I'm doing well today. Blessings to all of them! P.S. During the pandemic, we all clapped and celebrated our health care workers. Now, everyone seems to have forgotten all the sacrifices they made to heal us and keep us safe. They do this every day with every patient. Be kind and remember that they're human beings. Respect and appreciate them and what they do to help us.

Yelp
Thank you for your services! Entire ER staff is excellent! Very well organized hospital!

Yelp
Had open heart surgery bypass with Dr. Brown. Days after surgery I was given transfusions and there seemed to be something wrong but was never told what. i was released 8 days later. Fortunately, my ride was late, suddenly my chest started to expand and I called nurse. I had to stay for emergency surgery. I was told I was given too much or the wrong blood thinner. The problem was repaired. I called 6 months later and was told Dr. Brown knicked my heart and that's why I had the surgery. Other issues. The container that has toxic material was never changed and spilling out on floor, I thought I had an anxiety attack one evening and the nurse said that she gave me the wrong medicine and that's why I had reaction, I got an infection in my arm that was serious, pain management was good...no pain, Numerous times and to this day I have wires come out of skin along incision, most important I did survive and after 3 years I'm adjusting and ok Which I give them credit for.

Yelp
I'm a big baby when it comes to needles, n I apparently needed a lot of 'em this last week when I was treated for a badly infected tooth and gums that threatened my jaw bone. Everyone at the center treated me with respect and kindness even though I am not the most appreciative patient at first. Like any large organization, there are gaps n lapses, mostly due to other health emergencies when I believe that I'm the only patient. Overall, everything n everyone was great. I thank God for the treatment that I received and for each and every one of the nurses. Nurses rule! From check-in to release, I was treated well, much better than I deserved. Deskovick 2, everyone was great. I can't thank you all enough. God bless you all! Thank you! :)

Yelp
Reception, Admitting, Pre-op, Surgical team, Recovery Staff professional and caring. Next steps in care, deplorable, disappointing and inept...lack of patient care and service not evidence in night and weekend nursing staff, Patient Care Assistants/Tech (aside from a few individuals), Nurse supervisor not present. Nurse call button for attention is ignored. For immobile, fall risk patients to be left ignored after repeated requests for assistance to use bathroom or get of bed to move is unconscionable. Had two surgeries in 2 1/2 months here, with 3rd to be scheduled within the next 3 mos. Will stay with surgeon, use different hospital. Upper Management needs to open eyes and address care issues immediately.

Yelp
Very professional doctor & nurses. My wife got food poisoning. They saw her right away. Very nice ED with lots of seating and vending machines.

Yelp
I really don't suggest working there. The communication at the hospital was really bad.

Yelp
My partner walked into the ER and was told he would be kept for 2 to 3 days run tests. He was walking, talking etc. Four days later he was almost not conscious. The reason? He was confined to a bed with an IV and his food was placed too far away for him to reach to eat. And he contracted a virus. The staff including nurses did not wear masks around him and no gloves. He has a compromised immune system. A sign was placed on the door to that effect clearly requiring masks, when I asked why no one was wearing a mask in the room, the response was, "we are confused as a result of COVID and policies changing, no one knows what to do." An infectious disease nurse made that statement. It has been known for 2400 years that infection is passed from person to person. Yet this is news at Morristown Hospital. I am shocked and horrified by the treatment. Nurses not knowing drug classes. Delays in 2 weeks in getting essential tests done. Assistant nurses pinching and pushing my partner once he was too weak to resist. Doctors walking in, not introducing themselves, and asking a semi comatose person questions and acting like it was a visit. The nurses I saw chatting outside the room, one wiped her hand back and forth over her nose like a toddler would. She did not clean her hands. Her co-workers said nothing. My partner almost died. He walked in to the ER. This hospital should be investigated and shut down if they can't keep patients safe. Of course not everyone is a bad person at Morristown Hospital. A big shout out to the cleaners who came into the room effectively and cleaned the room efficiently. Occasionally a doctor or nurse or assistant would be effective. Some staff do take their jobs very seriously but it seems no one is prepared to point out the obvious. The place is broken and no one is in control of even basic procedures. Without the cleaners this place would be a trash heap.

Yelp
I have had two experiences in the last 2 months with this hospital and they were both pretty bad. I'm going to detail the ED first as that is beyond belief horrific. I went with my friend at 12 am for a heart condition. It took almost 3 hours to get a bed. Once in the room she had ok care but the halls were littered with human beings in various state of suffering. Little did we know that soon she would become one of the hall people. Her heart alarm started going off and the staff totally ignored it so she hit the call button 16 times. Suddenly a man came in and she thought he was there to help. No he was there to remove her from the room at that exact second. She said can I use the bathroom first? No get out we have someone sicker than you. She then asked for her shoes as she had bare feet and they were not giving them to her and she said I'm not walking on this disgusting floor in bare feet give me my effing shoes and the nurse then tossed her shoes at her. Now we are hallway people. You will sit in the hallway and get "treated" there. They will even deliver food to you that you are supposed to eat with wires hanging out of you and just a bed to sit in. They also pulled a curtain / divider over her for "privacy" when they were exposing her boob to hook up monitors. It literally felt like a third world nation and to be honest when I got home I felt shell shocked. The stress of the situation didn't help my friend with the heart condition so she called her cardiologist and said I cannot stay here and her cardiologist managed to get her moved from this disgraceful department over to cardio where she had to wait until the next day for her heart to be shocked back into a normal rhythm. The cardio team was excellent. During the time she was in her room in the ED we heard a hall person repeatedly asking for assistance to go to the bathroom. She must have asked 10 times before she was left to urinate all over herself in the hall. The day of the procedure the hospital was affected by the Microsoft outage and procedures were delayed and the patients could not get their medication and the staff had to manually wait in line at the pharmacy to get drugs. My daughter does not work at this location but is in fact am employee of AH. She tells me how awful the company is and although I believed her, seeing first hand is eye opening. Avoid the emergency department as if your life depends on it because in the end it does and you will not get the level of care one would expect in an American Hospital.

Yelp
Honestly i would rather die then come to this hospital. You are treated like criminal the whole time you are there. No privacy at all. O was there for 7 hrs and saw 1 doctor who didn't even examine me and then sent me home. I received no tests, no exam and no IV fluids. I didn't even receive a cup of water. They did however stick a needle in my arm immediately upon entering and kept it there for 7 hours for no reason. Posting a picture of how they removed the needle. It was medical abuse. The amount of police officers walking around with guns and bullet proof vests is also very unsettling. Who are these other people in the ER that need so many police with them??!?

Suzie S.

Yelp
My brother in law was at Gagnon 3 at Morristown Medical Center. He is at the end of a long and arduous fight with cancer. He was treated with such care and thought by every one. The room was large and comfortable and my sister was able to stay "comfortably" for a week with him. Can't say enough. Compassion abounds!

Yelp
I had to check myself into the emergency room at Morristown Memorial. My "better half " (MBH) drove me right to the door. It was around 7 pm on a very stormy / dark Sunday evening, 18th August. I was going into shock with breathing issues (swollen throat) after being attacked by about a dozen angry wasps at home. This is not my first adverse reaction to wasp/bee stings, but it was a bad one. MBH had also been attacked, but her reaction wasn't nearly as bad as mine, nevertheless the staff treated her also. I told reception briefly what had happened and within what seemed like only a minute, there was a wheelchair and plenty of assistance to get me to the "red zone"...ominous sounding, but quite apropos. Within another short minute I had an IV / Epipen shot and the monitors were humming away, showing my alarming blood pressure. I only managed to get one name...Erica, an RN...super efficient and pleasant. Erica had just started her 12 hour nightshift ! I was kept in for observation for a couple of hours, during which time (from my curtained-off room) I could hear some pretty serious moaning and screaming....It was a busy evening. These medical professionals have a very difficult job these days and this patient will be forever grateful for the excellent care during my (thankfully) brief stay !

Ronna W.

Yelp
shout out to Ripple breast center's Renée, Michele, Chrissy, and Dr. Chung. they were all very attentive, caring and took care of my questions and concerns promptly. Renee was especially kind and gave me some aromatherapy, which was lovely. thank you all

Alan K.

Yelp
My wife was recently admitted with extreme hip pain and inability to ambulate. She was kept in the ED hallway for 3 days with hardly any medical care or physical therapy. Communication was poor and she couldn't wait to leave even though she had negligible improvement. She received none of her promised discharge medications. If the hospital is that overcrowded that they can't provide anything but minimal care, then they should divert to another hospital. As a retired Family Physician, I found her care really substandard.

Lynn B.

Yelp
Dr Fatima Dema at the ER should be avoided at all possible costs. She is arrogant , lazy and uninformed about kidney donor patients with Covid. She refused to prescribe Paxlovid in spite of having access to 10 years of my medical information thru EPIC. Had she bothered to check she'd have seen it was prescribed prior by my PC. She is ignorant of Pfizer's warnings regarding renal insufficiency noted as under 60% function. Mine is 90%. Had she bothered to look at my medical records she would have known this. She has prolonged my illness by weeks due to her laziness and ignorance, I am still suffering with long-term Covid side effects. This doctor should hand in her medical papers and do some other type of work. Medicine has no room for third rate doctoring.

Yelp
Over 6 a half hour wait for ER . IM CONCERNED. I heard great things this is my first time Here I have lots of time on my hands to update my review as I continue to wait. On 3 hours and I wait next to the bathroom in a chair. This ER SMELLS LIKE A DISPENSARY...IM VERY CONCERNED going on 4 hrs and Noone has even taken my medical history or examined me properly just offered tylenol and had blood and an xray and shifted again back to the main foyer. Update 6 hours in the ER and no History or even exam. I got registered at 1230am Nurse removed my IV WITHOUT GLOVES This place is a medical nightmare & dump. Unorganized and dangerous healthcare. Spoke to supervisors Mark & Michael totally useless. Walked out for my own safety. Seeking better Healthcare elsewhere.

Yelp
My mom was actually in the hospital here due to heart health issues. Her heart success doctor is also located here. I just have to say she was treated so caring by the staff her entire stay. The nurses and doctors truly show care towards their patients. They are always ready to be of any assistance with the patient and and willing to explain in detail so the patient is aware and understands what procedure they are having and what purpose it serves. I have nothing but positive things to say even with the follow up aftercare once a patient is discharged.

Yelp
Top Notch Hospital. One of the best in state of New Jersey, Good doctors, nurses and staff . Beautiful facility.

Yelp
Went to the ER with blurred vision and tearing eyes. They told me it was just "allergies" & sent me home. Next day I went to an urgent care and they found out I had pink eye. The ER team really couldn't figure out that I had pink eye??

Yelp
I had heart burn. Albeit pretty bad. I went I. The hospital around 2:39. It now 8:18 and still haven't been seen. Don't go here

Martin H.

Yelp
Medical competency is reported to be good, but patient treatment is abysmal. My wife was brought to the hospital's emergency department by ambulance. Following a series of tests she was "admitted" to the hospital. But admission does not come with a room. It's now been close to a full day -- 24 hours -- since my wife entered the emergency department and she has yet to be assigned a room. Indeed, upon my inquiry I was informed that it may take days before a room can be assigned. Moreover, the emergency department is severely overcrowded and understaffed, with full beds littering the hallways, resulting in delayed treatment. I will say that the staff in emergency tries, but they are overwhelmed and the treatment expected of a hospital ward is not present.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Like any other hospital it really is hit or miss. Some of the staff is great. Others not so much. Also like most other hospitals they want you discharged as quickly as possible. Cafeteria is decent. Elevators are slow. Parking is ok but not great. The guards and front desk staff are nice and helpful.

Lora Ann N.

Yelp
Never seen an emergency room so bad waited over an hour to get in and then the dopey guy wheel us in kept banging into the walls because he's not paying attention he ran away because he was looking for a bed and left us waiting in the hallway and then they squeezed a bed in between the hundreds of people that were in the hallway already so we walked out and him came running out the door and told us that we'd have to wait in the hallway for a while, but I'm not gonna have my dad sit there for hours on hours next time we go to Saint Clair I'll never go to that emergency room again

Yelp
They charged $50,000 just for the OR room rental and a one-night stay in a recovery room after surgery! And this was WITH insurance and no special procedures performed after the surgery, only monitoring. For comparison, a 30-night stay in the PICU with daily procedures at St. Peter's University Hospital costs less! And worst over, they billed half of that as a separate charge under "Room and Board." Why does that matter? Since they didn't bill the recovery room as part of "inpatient services" that made it so I had to pay a huge coinsurance with my insurance provider. And the recovery room costed more than the actual surgery!! I was at another hospital before with the same circumstance and did not get charged like this. Their billing department is no help, they will only say that their prices are standard for the rich neighborhood they are in and that you should have asked for an estimate before you signed off on admission. In regards to that, there is an online estimator, but NOT on Morristown Medical Center's website. You have to magically know that their billing is actually through a different company called "Atlantic Health." Then if you try the calculator, it doesn't even have all the medical services listed. The doctors are nice, but not worth the cost. There are many other hospitals with better doctors and cheaper prices. I'd stay far away from this place if you don't want to end up paying $50,000 just for room rentals and a night of recovery. Their bill coding practices are questionable and pricing is astronomical and unconscionable. I can't believe that pricing is legal. This is a hospital priced for billionaires. PS: You have to pay for parking and there is no free street parking available.

Yelp
Took my mom here for bad shoulder pain. Got her into a private room immediately. X-rays. Read them quickly. Discharged all within two hours. Best medical facility in the area. Five stars well earned.

Yelp
i was a recent surgery patient with other disabilities and was shocked at the lack of attention on discharge. a social worker should have seen me and set up either home care or in-house pt. instead i was just cut loose by both the surgeon and more importantly the hospitial. my disabilities have created problems with my recovery that i should have been told about. very disappointed.

Yelp
I am here at Morristown memorial for the second time for my 85 yo mother due to sepsis and endocarditis. The infectious disease doctor who saw my mom confirmed that her infection has come from her mouth. She has 3 infected teeth which her dentist (Dr Nourbahksh and her Oral surgeon Dr Galante) both confirmed had to be removed. She is on blood thinners so the removal is risky but needed. Her dentist and oral surgeon both recommended it be done in a hospital environment. Unfortunately the dental clinic in Morristown memorial only wants to take low risk cases and for the third time is sending her away saying she doesn't need the teeth removed. It looks like to me the hospital only wants to treat the symptoms and not the root cause. If my mother leaves here and gets sepsis and endocarditis again, it would completely be their fault but they would wash their hands off it. On top of that there was a lady (short hair with glasses) who was like the dental admin there who was one of the meanest healthcare workers I've dealt with. She basically told me "if someone has asked your mom to remove her teeth, take your mom back to them and ask them to do it". With complete lack of concern care of compassion. She should NOT BE WORKING IN HEALTHCARE!!!!! Just spoke to 2 other dentists who don't work at Morristown memorial and they both confirmed these teeth need to be removed. Maybe the dental clinic only wants to take cases where insurance gives them money???either way ... Morristown memorial sucks!!!!!! I will edit this review if they help us out. Adding photos of the teeth so all dentists there can see what Morristown memorial is capable of doing. Anyone from Morristown Memorial listening???? PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!!!

Alex M.

Yelp
Please do not come here. We have been here for about 15 hours. My wife is in labor and had to stop midway to wait for a c-section putting our baby at risk as now there's no surgeon available for her. Not only this is horrendous but also dangerous and we are scared at what could happen

Yelp
I can't say enough about Morristown Medical Center, I had to have a pacemaker put in. All of the staff that I encountered were extremely friendly patient and kind. I was in the cardiac ward for 3 days, I had a beautiful private room. No one made me feel like I was bothering them! The doctors made sure that I understood everything that was happening, they truly took their time to make me feel comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone that ever asks! Even the food was good which we all know is a bonus Big shout out to the staff & my amazing nurses Michelle & Kirstin on Gagnon, you all made one of the scariest moments of my life a little easier

Yelp
Hospitals and emergencies rooms are just not pleasant when you really think about but if you HAD to choose one, I think found the one you'd want - Morristown Memorial Hospital. Even on yelp the ER wait time says average approximate is 11 minutes and sure enough my latest visit here was right about that before we were escorted in. Lets take a second to think about this. 11 minutes!? The best i've see is about 25 min. At St. B's, which I though was pretty fast, but this shatters that. The initial i take was a bit stiff as was the ER transport lady, but everyone esle - nurse, physician , assistant everyone was very nice and patient with my client which I appreciate and think says a lot about quality of care. There is a banner in the hallway proudly displaying the hospitals award for the best ER in the area. I can see why. Great service best I can tell here.

Yelp
I had a breast biopsy n it was pain free n would recommend anyone that needs that done . It is the only place to go .!!!!

Yelp
I went to the emergency room at Morristown medical with a laceration. My spouse insisted I go. I would've been better off if I had put a paper towel on it and wrapped it with electrical tape. The visit didn't require stitches, yet has cost me thousands. The way the hospital bills patients is nefarious at best, almost seems like a scam. I'd rather die than give them my business again. They are just as terrible as St Claire's. Both absolutely abysmal, run by thieves.

Yelp
I came to the e.r for a scan at 3pm. I got my results at 4.45...great! It's now 1 am and I've been waiting to be discharged since. The staff is apathetic, there are no answers for the delays and there has been no movement for hours. But they sure made it clear that if I leave wo paperwork, my insurance wouldn't cover the bill. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Yelp
This is an update for my 2017 review. I included one update, but the result of this hospital emergency visit turned out to be even more serious than I originally posted. I had called my doctor about the redness and swelling, and she told me to immediately go to an urgent care facility. After the first round of IV antibiotics, the urgent care place I went to sent me home and told me to keep a close eye on it. It did NOT respond well to the first round, and I had to go back yet again for another round of HIGH DOSE intravenous antibiotics which in turn made me so sick that I missed a few days of work. I spoke to my doctor, and she was in complete agreement with the courses of antibiotics from the urgent care place. I was on antibiotics again after that for about 2 weeks - the infection was so bad. I was doing infection care on the wound for more than 2 months. Finally, almost three months after Morristown Hospital treated me, I was able to get back to normal. The scar, after the serious infection, is much, MUCH worse than it should have been. Do NOT go to Morristown Medical Center. Seriously. Just don't. I will go out of my way to another Hospital ER if I ever need to go.

I am the voice for my poor mother who was neglected and constant mistakes were made that led to her barbaric death, stay far away from away from this hospital and pls read. Upon admission admitting Dr. labeled her a DNR B, which they can't produce any documentation and it also states "Does patient qualify for critical care" they put NO, HOW DO YOU DENY CRITICAL CARE TO SOMEONE IN A HOSPITAL? I slept 24/7 with her for 27 days being in the healthcare field I'm far from stupid and ask a million questions but all the answers were lies which still has be in disbelief. Please read the reviews if you appropriate humane care. What started out as a simple UTI for my 71-year-old young Mom that was cleared up within 3 days from a simple antibiotic, to her then being misdiagnosed time & time again and put on an NG Tube for no reason that led to her not eating for a month which led to malnutrition even though they had her on TPN. The list goes on and on but sadly they led to her demise but instead they tried to blame it on her pre-existing condition, which was well managed. Giving her medicine that we specifically told them we didn't want, because she looked drugged and was definitely having an allergic reaction, the Nurses didn't even listen to the Dr's orders. Took them over 17 days to figure out that her true diagnosis was constipation ONLY but by this time she was in critical condition which they didn't address or get her the appropriate care of specialists to help. Her X-rays showed worsening of congestion in her lungs, not even sharing this information because I would of called in a Pulmonologist for her, they just let it get worse, kidneys were failing never called a nephrologist. This all happened why because they put her on the lowest level of care, with residents in charge that treated her like a guinea pig. These incompetent so called Dr's let her albumin level, which is a huge prognostic indicator and at 1.5 treatment of live albumin should be given so blood vessels don't start leaking and nutrients are carried appropriately through the body, they waited to treat when it was 0.9 3 weeks later to start giving it to her, which led her blood vessels to leak fluid and her fill up with fluid so bad she couldn't even lift her arms, I was told it was from being in bed but in the truth it was from lack of care and inexperience. When I asked why was she so swollen and begged please have a higher level of care, I was told that she didn't qualify and that she was going to rehab that weekend and soon as she gets out of bed she would be fine the fluid would come off, they even dragged her out of bed in this condition, the videos and pictures I have are disturbing what my poor mother went through and she fought so hard to live. Also, they destroyed and conveniently disposed of important documents on the night she couldn't breathe, two days before she died I asked & begged for a Doctor at 10:30 pm and was told by Eva her Nurse there was none, this Nurse didn't even come in all night to check her, why her daughter was there. I fought her down and said this is a hospital how can there not be, she just shrugged her shoulders, even after I told her my concerns that her breathing was bad, she also didn't even come in to check my mom after I notified her. No specialists EVER CALLED IN only the Cardiologist that was since I called him, they let residents take care of her like she was a guinea pig not listening to me when I knew my mother best I slept there 24/7 and all they did was lie to me and not communicate. They did a chest x-ray when her lungs were filled with fluid since she was deteriorating which they never told me, they never ever called in a pulmonologist. Had her on an NG tube for 23 days with no food except TPN she was starving, dragging her out of bed when in reality she was dying. The horror I witnessed was barbaric. I begged for care and was told she didn't qualify, I regret getting her out of there but I was never told she could die instead I was told she was going into rehab and would be fine. They only told me what they wanted to tell me and lied to cover up the constant errors that I found when I received her medical records, I was hoping I was wrong but it was worse than you can imagine they have taken down all their Facebook reviews, and anywhere on Facebook you may be able to get a review in on them. Even google they have control over it, I tried to post but it was taken down. PLEASE read every review you can and make the right decision and find a hospital that will care for your loved ones with competency who are highly educated. Even the Nurses should know better but they are short-staffed the only ones that truly care are the aids thank god for them. Kahn 4 is the most incompetent care you could ever receive I wouldn't trust this hospital as they are fueled by money not the welfare of their patients which is beyond comprehension, you go to a hospital to get better not die.

Yelp
Patients placed by the hundreds in hallways of the ER. Beds back to back like a third world country. I have never seen a more appalling emergency room. Shame on them! While visiting a family member I passed nurses giving treatments to patients with an open screen for privacy. I am a nurse, this is shameful. The "top rated" hospital is a disgrace to the medical community. Other areas are better like the surgical wards etc. I can't completely discount the excellent doctors who are affiliated with this hospital. They are great, but not the ER. Go here if you want to waste hour upon hour of your life. You could fly to Antarctica and back by the time radiology gives a report. Imagine in the state of nj an acclaimed hospital leaving patients in hallways. For YEARS now this is the norm. GET IT TOGETHER!

Yelp
Took 2 year old to ER with laceration abpve eye. Plastic surgeon on call refuses to come in and treat the large cut. He bullies the parents and tells them thatthat they would have to pay out of pocket. This is a scam , not true and negligent. The hospital is complicit! Stay away!

Yelp
thursday December 21st 2024 I was transported to the hospital after a car accident and totalling my car between 9 and 10 am. I was robbed out of 500$ out of wallet due to someone's inhumane actions. I hate this hospital and everyone who work in it! STOP STEALING FROM PEOPLE.

Yelp
After an entire day (actually 30+ hours) sitting in the ED awaiting a bed for my 90 year old mother I have nothing good to say about this hospital. She was released with an active pneumonia that they chose not to treat because "she's 90". Thankfully the rehab she went to listened to our concerns and treated her with antibiotics! She's back to living a vibrant life again and is totally off oxygen which the Hospitalist told us she'd be on "for the rest of her life". Nope doc -- you were wrong about that too just like you were wrong about whether it was pneumonia!

Yelp
I brought my mother in at 5:30 pm. on November 29th to the emergency room. It's been 8 hours and a half, and the doctor still hasn't read her results on the tests that were performed. Another patient told me they had been waiting for ten hours. How is this possible? There has to be a better way. You need more staff and a better system to get patients out.

Yelp
I went into Morristown Medical Center to give birth to my baby girl. I am always weary of hospitals, but from the moment we pulled up to the time we checked out- it was the best experience any mom to be could ask for. My daughter came into the world in the most positive way possible as the delivery team was such a delight. I felt safe and cared for every step of the way. I trusted every person in that room and there is nothing more important to me then that experience I will never forget. Thank you so much Labor and Delivery team at Morristown Hospital! Shout outs to Nicole H, Audrey L, my Midwife Donna R and Ali. What an amazing group! -Laura S.

Yelp
Arrived the ER at 7:30 pm, wife having chest discomforting, BP spiked, numbness in her jaw. It's now 11:11 and we're still sitting in the waiting room. They have 1 patient check in person and the line was 6 deep and an hour before you could talk to a person. The reputation of the hospital is far more impressive than the reality.

Yelp
Worst Hospital I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. The staff in the emergency room are awful.

Yelp
Morristown Medical allows their Residents to use the elderly as science projects. I watched every day how the staff dehumanized the elderly. They give unnecessary medicine and won't feed a patient for days if they're on a feeding tube. Morristown Medical have the most unprofessional staff that I have seen in all of my 60 years on earth. After 8 pm the Residents have full control of the decision making of the care of the patient. The average Residents that are making life and death decisions are only 3 years out of medical school. I am highly disappointed in this hospital. Too many of our Seniors are dying at this hospital.

Yelp
Worst hospital ever. Husband here for 3 days. So many miscommunications. Then Dr. Dukshtein starts blaming us. First and last time at this hospital. When my husband got upset he was told by the doctor that he was going to call security. When I asked to speak to a manager was told to call the hospital or look it up online. What about patient first.

Yelp
Communication is lacking or non existent. Most of the staff seem to care, but they have serious communication issues. No two same questions are answered the same. Same and consistent care between patients are non existent. Ironically the care manager doesn't care about your actual care in the hospital and only cares (possibly?) what she can do for you when you leave and go home. If you ask a question and she says she'll get back to you with the answer, don't believe it; she sends a so called floor supervisor to lie to your face and she is never to be seen or heard from again. There is no patient advocate in the hospital other than the families of the patient. If there is, they are not willing to share that, relying on department Managers to try to smooth the situation. Surgical Step down unit lists an RN and an assistant, and boasts about it, but that is only true on some days. Patients should be encouraged to get out of bed to sit in a chair or go to the bathroom with assistance, not stay in bed and try to pee in a plastic container lying down. This is humiliating for patients. A machine beeps and they ignore it until the call button is pressed several times. Lack of privacy is also a huge concern. If you're by the window and close to the bathroom in a two patient room, you must have really good insurance that pays the hospital a lot of money; if not you're the furthest away from the bathroom with the smallest amount of space and privacy. Clearly discrimination is alive and well in this hospital.

Yelp
Being in this emergency room was nothing short of a nightmare. The surgical team has an ego like you can't even imagine. The surgical resident was so eager to do surgery on me, he was all but standing near my bed with a scalpel. He said "I have a low threshold for surgery" meaning he will drag you in for exploratory surgery at the drop of a hat. I shutter to think how many surgeries he performs that aren't needed (I did not end up needing surgery, the other methods they tried worked.) They completely ignore your right to self determination, good luck refusing all their unnecessary procedures. They act as if you are a complete idiot and know nothing about your health. I told them as a transplant patient, I cannot be overloaded with fluid. They pushed 4 liters on me back to back (I drew the line at the 5th) and although I came in with a stomach issue, I left with fluids in my lungs like I said I would. They had not an ounce of sympathy for the pain and hardship you are going through. On top of all this they had none of my medications that I needed for my transplant. They said "it's fine if you miss your meds." Also there seems to be no rooms at all in this giant hospital so I was in the ER for two days (they gave me a private room though because I'm high risk.) The only positive was that most of the nurses were kind and compassionate and extremely responsive.

Yelp
My wait time was less than 10 minutes. I came in at 1PM on a Wednesday and checked in immediately and so soon got the treatment I needed, and each person was so kind and gentle with a sense of humor! The most difficult part was parking, wish there were more ER spots :) I got put in the kids' part of the hospital. So so nice to give me a bed even though it was something minor. I asked for an Xray even though it was something small and no one was surprised nor judged me. Every soul was incredibly kind. I love to see doctors who truly care and this was one of those times. I was in and out in an HOUR! Very grateful and glad!
