12 hidden restaurants in Singapore that even hipsters don’t know about - SilverKris

"Set inside lush Dempsey grounds, this unpretentious small-plates venue serves creative fusion dishes designed for sharing. Highlights include Hokkaido scallop ceviche, a Firecracker Duroc pulled pork shell pasta, and a sakura chicken plated with chicken liver mousse, pickled beet and beetroot vinaigrette—all served in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere." - SilverKris

Food as medicine: Get your next wellness boost at these eateries and bars - SilverKris

"Led by chef-owner Petrina Loh, this Singapore restaurant embraces a food-as-medicine philosophy informed by visits to Chinese medicine halls and consultations with TCM masters; dishes are crafted for both flavour and bodily benefit. Standout items include lamb ribs seasoned with more than a dozen herbs — notably dang gui (female ginseng root) — a Kurobuta pork collar paired with goji berry jam, and several gut-friendly fermented offerings such as kimchi and fermented watermelon salsa." - Claire Turrell

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An amazing meal at Morsels — every dish was a creative explosion of flavor and technique! The Toriyama steak was exceptional: beautifully marbled, perfectly seared, and melt-in-your-mouth tender with a deep, umami richness that lingered. The duck noodles were a comforting yet elevated delight, combining smoky duck, chewy noodles, and a broth so layered it felt like a warm hug in a bowl. The oysters were fresh and briny, dressed with just the right touch of acidity to lift their natural sweetness. The steamer crab puffs were little clouds of joy — light, crisp, and packed with the sweetness of fresh crab, an absolute must-try. And then, the showstopper — the Bak Chor Mee Carbonara. A genius creation that truly embodies what Morsels does best: bold, inventive fusion that still feels soulful and familiar. Creamy, umami-packed, and impossibly addictive — it’s the best of the best, a dish you’ll dream about long after the meal ends. To finish, the Milo Tiramisu and Horlicks Tiramisu were nostalgic bliss — both desserts cleverly reimagined with local childhood flavors and a touch of indulgence. The Milo version was rich and malty, while the Horlicks one had a comforting, creamy depth that rounded off the meal beautifully. With impeccable food, warm service, and inventive flair, Morsels continues to be one of the most exciting dining experiences in Singapore — every plate tells a story, and every bite leaves you wanting more.

I had walked past this restaurant many times but with no big signage I’d never thought to give it a try. Luckily by chance I found an excuse to visit and was surprised to find a hidden gem. A nice cosy interior supplements the interesting menu … something different than the regular fare you find at most mid-range restaurants in Singapore. Friendly and flexible service and an interesting drink menu made the experience complete.

Absolutely loved my experience at Morsels in Dempsey. The ambience is stunning — it feels like stepping into a European rustic cottage tucked away in the lush greenery of Dempsey Hill. Super cozy, intimate, and full of charm. The food was equally impressive. Each dish was thoughtfully curated, with a creative use of quality ingredients, fermentation techniques, and house-made sauces that really elevated the flavors. You can tell a lot of heart and craftsmanship goes into the menu here. A beautiful spot for anyone who enjoys unique, ingredient-driven cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting. Highly recommended! @cheechin.chew on Instagram

Beautiful place nestled at the back of Dempsey. First time here, ordered the “Feed Me 138” and it was a delightful experience tasting most of the signature and highlights on the menu. My personal favourite is the pull duck dumplings and milo tiramisu. Perfect fusion of Asian and Western, something that I had not experienced it being done better than here. Service was great too. Aircon could be turned on a little bit colder, not hot just that I’m just naturally accustomed to colder places. Still, I’d give 5 stars for everything!

Stumbled upon this place via “Hungry Go Where”, and really it didn’t disappoint us. We came here for a weekend dinner, and enjoyed both the food, services and ambiance of the restaurant. Highly recommended to get the Kispi Cabbage, Crab Tartar, Mee Pok Carbonara and off-the-menu Hokkien Mee. Will definitely come back here again to try other Asian Fusion cuisine.

We visited this restaurant with high expectations, The food itself was pleasant. However, our experience was ruined by something unacceptable: we found a worm inside the spoon provided for dining. (Picture 1) such hygiene oversight is shocking. While the staff may have good intentions and the food concept is creative, basic hygiene and food safety should always come first.

Amazing cozy venue with great and friendly service. Chef Petrina managed to create a customized food menu with our wine very well. The Endive Salad was a refreshing opener that paired well with a white wine. Pulled Duck Dumpling was delicate yet savory, with a fermented garlic paste to provide more umami flavour. Everything was well balanced, with the pork collar assam sauce. With just enough spice to be felt but not over powering for people who can't take spicy food. Would recommend this for anyone who wants to try interesting and creative food. It was also easy to organize a party and bring our own wine. Thank you to Moses and Petrina for the great dinner!
