"A few bites in and it’s patently obvious that Galton Blackiston is a chef with a deep knowledge and appreciation of the great produce found in Norfolk. Whether picked from the kitchen garden, foraged from nearby beaches or delivered by local fishermen, the ingredients are superb, and are treated well in dishes with classical flavour combinations. The conservatory looking out over the garden is the place to sit in the summer months, while those staying the night can choose from contemporary country house bedrooms or more luxurious garden rooms." - Michelin Inspector

Our stay at Morston Hall was excellent in every respect. The room was large, beautifully furnished with great views over the garden. Tea and coffee was available as were some very welcome home made cookies. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails and were served the most delicious canapés. The tasting menu was sublime where the potato veloute, the langoustine and the monkfish dishes were outstanding. The wine flight was beautifully judged and complemented the dishes perfectly. The two course breakfast was also excellent with....the black pudding was the best I've tasted. All the staff we met couldn't have been more friendly, efficient and polite. The staff serving in the dining room were outstanding too and the sommelier had such great knowledge and an infectious enthusiasm for wine. We absolutely loved everything about our stay and would love to return one day.

We had an absolutely excellent experience dining here. We chose the tasting menu, and every course was outstanding – you could tell so much thought and care had gone into every detail of each dish. Not only did everything taste incredible, but the presentation was beautiful as well. The service was second to none. A special mention has to go to Ellie, who went above and beyond to make our evening truly memorable. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality really elevated the whole experience. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly – a perfect blend of amazing food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Celebrated my husband’s birthday with dinner at the restaurant. Food was faultless, the service well-paced and the cocktails superb! A local taxi firm said allow 4 hours for dinner but we were comfortably finished within 3. Can highly recommend to all you foodies out there!

We were out here to celebrate my birthday and hands-down one of the best 1-star Michelin restaurants out there . While the service was exceptional- the food was extraordinary. The experience , the quality of the produce , the temperature of the dishes and the effort of the Chefs was obvious in every dish. It is a must visit if in Norfolk . We are definitely coming back !!!

We went for the 7 course taster meal and it started off so well with lovely canopies in the beautiful garden with its stunning fig trees. Although the food was all locally sourced some of the dishes could have been a bit better we feel as the canopies had so much lovely flavour that some of the other dishes lacked that and were too simple, but that’s our opinion. Staff were amazing with great knowledge of the produce and the wine. I would like to go back to try the proper menu.

I had high hopes for afternoon tea here, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel welcomed. The waitress was not attentive, barely smiled, and came across as quite unfriendly — surprising, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty. Despite how quiet it was, we were left for long periods without any drinks, and the waitress was nowhere to be seen for most of our visit. It felt like we were completely forgotten. The food itself was OK, nothing special. I've honestly had tastier food at a local garden centre Afternoon tea should feel like a relaxing treat, but this felt more like an inconvenience — for both us and, apparently, the staff. Would not recommend based on this experience.

I have visited Morston hall twice now this year. The first time was Sunday lunch, today for afternoon tea. We were looked after by the waitresses and the food was wonderful. Lovely flavours especially enjoyed the vanilla mousse and apricot cube dessert to finish.

3 of us had the Monday night menu. Everything was delicious, the service excellent and loved the personal touch from the chef himself. Highlights included the canapés, so much flavour packed into one mouthful! Crab and lobster raviolo amazing, the beef main course was tender and delicious. We’ll be back for the full tasting menu next time we’re in Norfolk
