The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Walnut Creek | Eater SF

"If you’re looking for a solid deli sandwich, Morucci’s is the local favorite with good reason. The sandwiches are generously stacked, there are solid breakfast items available, and there’s a smattering of salad options available if you’re looking to eat something healthier. The Popeye & Olive Oil is a nice vegetarian option that features a layer of the “secret” pesto spread, with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and spinach, but most go with the classic Italian sub with salami, coppa, mortadella, and provolone along with veggies and Italian dressing." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
Got the tri tip sandwich. The bread is great. Around $10 a sandwich which the portion size isn't bad at all. I would definitely go back and try something different. My husband ordered the turkey Reuben and I would like to try that one next. Waited for ten minutes and it was super busy at lunch. Not bad.

This was like someone took out a professional hit on a sammich. The top left of the menu does say what each sandwich comes with, and is then followed up by parenthesis stating that sprouts are an OPTIONAL addition. Which means one must ask for them. I very much DID NOT ask for cold soggy sweaty-gym-sock-smelling sprouts on a HOT REUBEN sammich. I promise I am not taking this personally because it’s my name. That combo is just FEH. I totally get someone could’ve just made an honest mistake one time, but this was my first impression/first time ordering after everyone in my neighborhood was chatting-up how great the sammies are. Maybe I’ll try again another time but right now I’m just irate. Prolly a bit hangry too.

Maybe the best sandwich I've ever had. So good! The bread was perfect. Went there on a busy day and still got my order in a timely manner. Definitely going back!

My office is in downtown Walnut Creek and I decided to take a break from the overpriced, underwhelming, $20 lunches that come with a side of poor service and go for a little five minute drive, where I found Morucci’s. They offer a large menu of sandwiches and salads, and because it was difficult to narrow it down. I decided to start at the top and go with the #1 one Italian sub. It was really incredible! Rather than add on the suggested mustard or pesto, I asked for an unconventional ingredient to be added to an Italian sandwich (Mayo) and I was grateful that they didn’t (outwardly) judge me for my choice, because combined with the Italian dressing it was the perfect creamy, tangy combo. There’s a lovely outdoor shaded eating area where I was able to enjoy my sandwich. I will absolutely be back very soon. I’m hoping to work my way down the menu, but that Italian sub is going to be tough to beat. More Morucci’s, please!

Google
A wonderful delicatessen providing a fresh assortment of meats, cheeses, breads & various side dishes; marinated olives, pasta salads, etc. My go-to is the #6-3/4: cibatta roll, pesto, roasted red peppers, sliced mozzarella, tomato&basil w/ Italian herbs & a balsamic vinegar drizzle. It is hard too miss with this combo. However, everything I have had thus far, has not disappointed.

Google
Small business shop. Friendly. Food looked very fresh and clean. The person taking my order was new and nobody was helping him. Waited in a long line. . The poor guy needed better training. They were out of most of the bread and left very little options. Sandwich was no different than subway, other than the bacon was good quality. Toppings are just basic lettuce and tomato. Thats it. Prices are fair. Staff was friendly.

Google
Super busy in the afternoon, but the wait was short and the staff made sure to keep us folks waiting for our food updated about how long the wait was. Ordered the California Club and they told me the ranch was house made. Can't go wrong with that! Will be back.

Google
I am from Berkeley. Never been here before. Had gone to a meeting with a friend and stopped here for lunch. I got the #8 pastrami sandwich (pastrami is often the #8 on many menus) and was pleased at the generous portion of the sandwich. All too often you pay lots of money and the portion size is very small, but not here! They were very busy. The line was long but moved pretty quick so it is clear that they have a good system for making their sandwiches and making them right! If I come back to Walnut Creek I will for SuRE be coming back here!

Yelp
We found Morucci's through a TikTok video and saw that this was a really popular sandwich deli. There was a wait of about 15 people when we walked in so we expected to wait a while for our sandwiches, but to our surprise, we were out of there by ~10 minutes. I ordered the pesto and chicken sandwich while my boyfriend ordered the tri-tip. Both on a dutch crunch roll. The tri-tip was a bit bland for me personally. These were the perfect sized sandwiches. The price of the sandwiches were also REALLY fair compared to other places in the area. I will definitely be back for more sandwiches. There is also an outdoor seating area since there is not much space indoors. It's really nice on a warm day, and can be dog friendly too!

Yelp
I can't understand what is up with this place. I love independent delis but they've got some serious quality control problems. I just brought home a sandwich on a sourdough roll that was so hard, I couldn't eat it. Without exaggeration, I stopped attempting to bite into it for fear of chipping a tooth. What kind of human being making a sandwich like this would think that's okay? It must have taken a sawzall to cut that bread. I had to take it apart and put the filling on my own bread at home. The worst part is they don't answer the phone and you can't leave a message. The outgoing message says "email us at Moruccis.com." There is no such email address. I want my money and my time back.

Yelp
It's 1pm on a Wednesday. Why is there a line? It must be good. There's a walk-up window where you can scan the QR code and see the menu. I thought I would order online but I ended up ordering inside since the line was moving fast. The people inside scattered around were people waiting for their sandwiches. The pressure of what to order before it was my turn was causing so much anxiety. I ended up ordering the most popular one: #00 - Oven roasted turkey on only bread I want (Dutch crunch) and all the fixings. I wish I wasn't so anxious I would've asked them to toast it because Dutch crunch is the best when its got "crunch." My son ordered the #16 - TriTip which he said was really good! Darn. It looked and smelled good too! I should've taken my time. The walls are lined with boxes upon boxes of chips. A wall of bags of potatoes! So many chips. The were a couple of tables inside, mostly taken over by your grandpa-types. You can tell they've been going here for years as they knew what to order and sat next together enjoying each others company - huddled within the wall of potato chips. I almost wanted to join in. There were a few tables outside. Lots of chairs. You have to be quick to snag one, or hopefully maybe a single diner is willing to share the table. Sandwiches came out as quickly as they can make it. I think I waited 15 min from the time I placed my sandwich order. Shop around for your chips and drink, then pay while you're waiting to kill time. The staff was friendly. They were patient. Overall, great place. I'd come back.

Yelp
We wanted some good sandwiches and stopped here to pick up for the family. Don't know why we haven't eaten here much but it's consistently good. There was a good crowd eating on the front patio. Went inside and met with a friendly counter person. He told us to take our time with the large menu. We opted for two #1 Italian subs, a #2 Caesar salad sandwich, and a chicken Caesar salad. Our order was ready quickly. Sandwiches were made on large square ciabatta bread. The salad was a good size but pretty standard. I'd like to try a tri tip sandwich next time. Well be back!

Yelp
We came here at 2 PM, and had a great experience overall! The service was quick, and the servers were all very kind. I got a #12, and they only had wheat roll left. But for less than $10, the price was so cheap! Though the sandwich was a little small, I loved the tenderness of the chicken and the freshness of the salsa. The wheat roll was actually so soft and delicious, but I would love to try the other sandwiches as well. We sat outside and gathered tables together to enjoy our meal, and not even 5 minutes later, they closed for running out of bread! Definitely get here closer to opening for more options. Regardless, I would come back whenever I'm in the area for cheap eats.

Yelp
Solid sandwich, easy ordering and quick fast paced environment. They have a nice variety of sandwiches and other deli food items. Reasonable price with indoor and outdoor seating with shade. Check it out!

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by Morucci's on a Saturday afternoon before a tire appointment at America's Tire nearby. Around noon, we drove past the shop and saw a huge crowd outside waiting for their orders. It's street parking only for Morucci's so you may need to circle the block a few times to find parking. Since it was our first time, the ordering process wasn't immediately obvious. You place your order with the person behind the deli counter in the back -- no need for pencil or paper to customize your order, then head over to the cashier on the left to pay. At the cashier, you simply provide your name, so they can match it with your order. We waited about 20 minutes for our sandwiches, and it was absolutely worth it. My wife ordered the #1, the Italian, and I went with the #16, the tri-tip. It was a tough choice since so many of the sandwich options sounded delicious, like a BLT on Dutch crunch. These days, finding a filling sandwich for around $10 feels almost impossible. The Italian was packed with a great variety of cold cuts, a nice tang from the pickled peppers, and a satisfying crunch from the shredded lettuce. I especially enjoyed the pesto sauce smeared across the top bun of the sandwich. The tri-tip sandwich had a bold horseradish flavor I really enjoyed, though it was a bit messy--big slices of steak made it tricky to get even bites, and I ended up pulling out chunks of meat with each bite. The bread was fantastic. From a few plastic trays I saw in the dining area, the bread seems like it's sourced from Semifreddi's. My sandwich came on a garlic ciabatta that was super fresh. I'll definitely stop by Morucci's next time I'm craving a sandwich in Walnut Creek.

Yelp
Great sandwiches! The service was all smiles, great selection of meats and breads. I had the mesquite chicken and the wife had the rueban. The also have this amazing all natural drink option that includes pulp in them, tasty side to the sandwich. On our way to see Metallica live at Levi stadium, phenomenal find!

Yelp
Wow... I was looking for a sandwich, and a lot of people on Reddit wouldn't stop talking about Morucci's as an option. Today, I came by to check them out. As the employee took my order, I told her that this was my first time here, so I asked what she recommended. She said she'd go for the #00, which was the oven roasted turkey, the #1, Italian sub, or #17, BBQ beef. I ended up taking the Italian sub without tomatoes, along with a pesto salad. Since I couldn't choose between the penne salad with feta and cherry tomato and pesto, the employee let me sample both to see which one I preferred. I was surprised that by the time I gave her my name, the other employees already had my sandwich ready to go. That sandwich was delicious, and the toasted ciabatta with the pesto sauce, cold cuts, lettuce, and melted mozzarella was just an unbelievable combination. I also am really happy with my choice of pesto salad, because it really was delicious. The place seems so hectic and chaotic, but it's controlled. Also, when I got home, I noticed the bag with my receipt had the name Kaitlin on it, so I'm going to assume that was the name of the employee who took care of me. Kaitlin was awesome and friendly and super helpful for a first timer. One thing to be aware of if you check this place out is be aware the place is street parking only. I didn't realize it when I first got there, so I had to take a detour to come back.

Yelp
Morucci's of Walnut Creek is a very popular sandwich deli. Met up with my Yelp bud Harvey K. for lunch. Made sure we got there at 11 am because after 11:30 the line is no less then 15 ppl deep. They make each sando to order. The sandwiches are individual made so even with an army of sandwich makers it defies take a while. I ordered the #1 Italian with pesto no mustard on Dutch crunch roll excellent. Harvey got the Tri-Tip. The portions are just right not oversized. Prices range from $11-$15. Seating is limited inside due to stacked supplies but it was a beautiful day and outside seating was fine. The location is off the beaten path but plenty of street parking.

Yelp
Morucci's is a great sandwich spot that my friends and I have been going back to often. They run a tight ship there and I understand why it is always packed around lunch time. I got a Tuna sandwich the way I wanted it with a bag of chips for about $16 with tax. My friends tend to get 6 3/4 which is also super yum.

Yelp
I've been coming to Morucci's for years, and let me tell you this is the best sandwich spot in Walnut Creek. Maybe even the whole area in my opinion. I've lost count of how many times I've checked in, but let's just say... a lot. And since my photos keep making their front page, I guess that makes me their #1 customer (or at least an honorary employee at this point lol). My go-to? The One and a Half. Always. And do yourself a favor get extra salami. It's a total game changer. You'll thank me later! Prices? Super fair. You're not spending more than $15 unless you're doing the absolute most (which, let's be real, I usually do). The chip selection? Easily the best I've ever seen guaranteed to find something you like. Drinks? Always solid, with specials like lemonades and Arnold Palmers (fuhgedaboudit) They also have pasta salads, and other sides, but honestly, I get too distracted by the sandwiches to remember all the names lol Bottom line...if you haven't been to Morucci's, you're missing out. This place is a must!

Yelp
+Called in our order ahead of time and the food was ready upon arrival. Their deli has parking in the back and has a couple tables to eat inside. +They offer a big selection of chips and drinks to enjoy your sandwich with. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are made well. We ordered two #3 (The Smokey Bird) and one #5(The Californja Club). - The only downside is the #3 had too much honey mustard and it overtook the flavor of the turkey. Also one of the #3 was requested heated and it was not but they remade it quickly and correctly. I will definitely be back. Overall a solid 4.5 stars

Yelp
Morucci is pretty good, they've been around for many years so what's not to like? As a first timer, I believe the system could have been a little easier. I was lined up at the register, not knowing I should have ordered my sandwich first. As it got busier, the register area got even more crowded which added to my confusion. I also wish I was given a choice of bread. Don't get me wrong, this probably works for those who know the system but it didn't work for me. I'll give it another try when I'm in the area and I'm sure my experience will be better knowing what to expect.

Yelp
Today's adventure in sandwichs at Morocco's was #16, thinly sliced tri tip, garlic ciabatta, romaine with Caesar like dressing , tomatoes. Delicious. I would recommend this one be eaten in house as the roll gets steamed in the foil on togo orders. Busy place & we normally phone the order in. Walnut Creek staple for numerous years.

Yelp
Lunch at a classic Morucci's In Walnut creek. The Lines were long but worth the wait! Not pictured the 6 3/4- turkey, mozzarella, tomato, lettuce, pesto in cibatta. The 1 1/2 turkey, salami, olive spread lettuce, peppers, fontina and Asiago. The ham bacon and Brie on baguette was very rich. The star was the 13- grilled chicken breast with pepper jack lettuce mustard ranch pickles onions and peppers served hot!! Yum!

Yelp
Still a yummy and popular place, but even the most delicious (and well priced) sandwiches aren't quite as good if customer service doesn't match. To beat the lunch rush, I made a phone order in the morning for pickup at 12p. It was an Italian sub for my friend on Dutch Crunch (which she said was delightful) and a BLT on the same bread for me (almost a whole pack of thick cut bacon was in there which was impressive! But it was missing the sprouts I'd requested). The sandwiches themselves were large and well-packed, but sadly the bread wasn't the crunch we expected. I know that maybe having to-go orders timed right can be tricky but I do wish the bread was a bit less soggy when we ate. On to customer service - Morucci's is a busy place and there was indeed a line and busy parking by the time I arrived for my pickup. My sandwiches were ready when I went to the counter, but when I went to the counter and sought to pay with my gift card, the employee brusquely just said they don't accept them anymore. I was a little taken aback, and had to ask a few more questions to understand that Morucci's just switched to a new register system earlier this week - but also when I asked the employee if my gift card would work then when the system was fully integrated she gave a nonchalant "maybe". I think overall the attitude and information provided to customers could be way better than this, and I'd really hope that prior gift cards continue to be honored through this transition too.

Yelp
If you like sandwiches, this is your spot. The sandwiches are inexpensive (about $11) and they also have hefty breakfast burritos that run you a little less. They have a whole salad menu, and some run of the mill deli sides like potato salad. They have a ton of chips to choose from, small and large bags, but not quite sure how much those will cost you. A line can easily build up as they make each sandwich to order. They won't take your order until they're ready to make it, so the inside space can get a bit cramped. For a breakfast burrito and a tri tip sandwich, it took about 15 min after ordering. I love that they pre-cut all items, so it makes it easier to eat plus you get the beautiful cross section view. The tri tip sandwich was dripping with garlic butter on the outside, so didn't love that. It typically comes with horseradish but I opted to remove since I'm not a fan. The tri tip was sliced thin and tender but the inside seemed kinda dry and flavorless. The cheese was nicely melted but just didn't love that the flavor was so bland. My BD loved it though, so to each their own. We also got a steak breakfast burrito, and added potato for an upcharge. The burrito was pretty bland too, even though its supposed to have salsa. There's no spice to it and they don't have any hot sauce on the condiment bar. They do have ketchup though, but I like a little heat on my burritos. The eggs aren't salted and the steak was the same sliced tri tip on the sandwich, so tender but flavorless. The burrito was beautifully assembled though so I think this would just be better with sausage or bacon, something a little more salty. Still would love to see some hot sauce on the condiment bar though.. just a suggestion! Inside seating is super tiny but they do have a good amount of outdoor seating. It's not covered though so during the winter months, it'll be wet or cold. Service is fine, street parking only, and they open pretty early which is great when it's early but you just aren't feeling typical breakfast foods.

Yelp
Wide variety of delicious sandwiches, waiting time is tolerable but arrange your time fair about 15/20 minutes to your eating time.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for a good deli sandwich and heard a recommendation for Morucci's. It's not every day I'm in Walnut Creek but when I am, I love to explore what's hot in the town. A mom friend gave me a tip that you can call ahead for your to-go order with your pick up time because they get super busy (open at 8a, fyi). There is a separate window from the actual deli where you pick up. With a stroller, it was super convenient to grab and go. Worth the effort with the pro-tips, another one is the actual order itself - Chicken Pesto all the way. I typically am a turkey on dutch crunch with all the fixings, but I felt adventurous and with all the reviews for Chicken Pesto, thought worth a shot. Nothing like a deli's dutch crunch roll and Morucci's delivered. Fresh and not fall apart flaky in your lap/on your clothes. Between the bread: chicken, pesto sauce, spinach, mayo, cheese, avo, lettuce, tomato. A quality sandwich made with love that I could feel, but didn't weigh me down. Super yum! There's a bunch of outdoor seating if you have the time for the full Morucci's experience, which I would love to have when not on the go! I have my eye on the Fresh Mozzarella sandwich, Caesar Salad sandwich, and BBQ Beef for future orders. Yes, I did that much research! Thank you Morucci's for being my afternoon delight and helping to make things seamless for a new mama!
google avatar

Amelia D.

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches I've had. The bread was so fresh and made the whole sandwich. I loved the outdoor seating. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Bougie D.

Yelp
I love this place and everyone I know does too, the staff is kind and friendly and this place is well-known in walnut creek, but it's a little hard to find, the sandwiches hit the spot on a nice sunny day, and when you walk in your greeted with traditional music and decoration. 5 star's..

Greg B.

Yelp
Best sandwiches in the area. Period. Usually a line out the door and everyone waits. Great prices too... considering the cost of everything these days.
google avatar

Cin-Yee S.

Yelp
My foodie neighbor Skip introduced me to this great classic deli sandwich spot this morning, and helpfully advised we get there right before 11 to beat the lunch rush. By the time we placed our order, a line had begun snaking out the door. I loved my #15 Avocado, Sprouts, and Cheese (add turkey for me) on warm Dutch crunch roll ($10). With sprouts, cucumber, and other fresh produce, this perfectly packed sandwich will have me returning to repeat this great experience whenever I'm in the area. Skip is a fan of the #6 3/4, so I'll check that one out next time.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
The best sandwich spot in the area! Been coming here since I was a teenager and I've tried everything on the menu, no complaints. The people behind the counter are always nice, even when it's packed. It's got a great deli selection and their macaroni salad is one of my favorites. The 6 & 1/2 is my all time favorite sandwich
google avatar

Lily V.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, excellent bread! Try the Dutch crunch or focaccia. We keep coming back!! And their spinach salad is the bomb big thick cut bacon excellent poppyseed dressing.

Yelp
I don't know how I have not been here before! I found this place on yelp. We went on a Saturday the line was out the door. We parked half a block away on the store. There was some seating inside and outside. Once you make it inside while you're standing in line the menu is very big hung up on the wall. They have about 18 different options of sandwiches. My favorite part is they had a great selection of chips. There's different people taking orders so the line goes quick. I ordered two sandwiches with a large bag of chips for $25. I thought it was very reasonable. The ingredients are so fresh and they don't skimp out of the meat. The actual sandwich was delicious. This place is 5 stars across the board.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Actually want to give 3.5 Stars though. Got here around 12:45pm on a Wednesday afternoon and waited out the door. Lines loves fairly fast though and the sandwiches come out fast as well. Orders one specialty sandwich and one custom sandwich. Noticed they didn't really use the sticker to notate the customizations and it didn't come out accurate... Didn't have focaccia so got the Dutch crunch with smoked turkey added the sprouts and avocado. Liked the sandwiches overall bc like all the pictures show, they give healthy portions and for the price can't be beat. My only gripes were the condiments available. The mayo and mustard that they add to the sandwich and offer in the packets are cheap and really took away from the sandwich otherwise I really would have overlooked ever and might have even given five stars. Seems such a shame to make such a good sandwich and dampen the quality with cheap condiments. Also got hot coffee on the side and after trying it, it was cold and let them know thinking they might make a fresh batch. But they just offered to warm it up in the microwave... Will come back again though if in the area to try other specialty sandwiches and hopefully I'll bring my own condiments. Really wanted spicy component to my sandwich too.

Yelp
I've been to Morucci's about half a dozen times over the years and tried a variety of their sandwiches. On my most recent visits, I ordered the oven-roasted turkey breast and the tri-tip. Morucci's is your classic deli shop--order at the counter, pick your toppings, and wait about 10 minutes for a freshly made sandwich. The bread is always fresh, and they have an almost overwhelming selection of chips to choose from (seriously, it's a lot). I usually stick with the Dutch crunch bread--it's my go-to. I also like to add some spicy peppers for extra flavor, along with my choice of cheese from their standard topping options. As for the sandwiches, the oven-roasted turkey and the tri-tip were pretty similar in quality to me. They're solid sandwiches--good, but not outstanding. I wouldn't go out of my way to grab one, but if I find myself at Morucci's for lunch, I'm not disappointed. Overall, I'd rate both sandwiches around a 6.8. Morucci's is decent, but in my opinion, none of the Italian-style delis in the CCC area really stand out. I'll go back, but it's not the kind of spot I'd make a special trip for.

Yelp
The pastrami sandwich on ciabatta is so good! It's a really big, filling sandwich! Lunch time is busy. There are some outdoor seatings and is perfect to get a quick bite here. Some parkings at the back of the sandwich shop. Shoutout to Jose for his friendly service!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my goodness one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. At Saint Mary's bball camp for the weekend and I ordered a cali club which was turkey bacon lettuce tomato onion mayo I believe and it was fantastic. ciabatta bread sometimes does not hold Up over a period of time but even after about 45 minutes this sandwich was phenomenal. Crispy bacon, moist turkey fresh veggies everything about it was great. Definitely one of those sandwiches that you think about for a couple days after 5/5

Yelp
I was visiting Walnut Creek ,and was hungry ,and looking for a good Italian deli sandwich .I found moruccis ,an Italian deli through yelp of course , and I'm glad I came ! The place is semi residential with no other places around it ,and it is is a small Deli with a big bite ! I ordered the Italian sub ,and every bite was delicious ,and flavorful . I've never tasted a sub like this before .Every bite was tasty and delicious !The people were not that friendly so that's why I'm giving it 4 stars . The place was not even busy so people could have at least had a smile on .

September G.

Yelp
Used to be one of my favorite places to get a sandwich. Not sure if it's under new ownership but the quality has gone down. Sandwich is smaller than previous. The Dutch crunch is stale and hard. Hopefully they make changes for the better.
google avatar

Yunhi K.

Yelp
The sandwiches are pretty good! The reason why I give them 4 stars is that they don't wear gloves to make sandwiches. The workers pick the meats with their bare hands. And flies all over the deli meats and premade salads. It's kind of hard to eat inside due to lots of flies and not enough seated area.

Janelle B.

Yelp
Solid sandwich. Long lines but worth it. Perfect for a hot day or to take on a picnic. Always hits the spot. Ciabatta bread is a must.

Yelp
We love Morucci's!!!! My family has been coming here for years. Some sandwich faves: tuna on wheat roll, 6 3/4, Rueben or pastrami. They also have a huge selection of chips! The pasta salad is great as well and we've also enjoyed their soups. I recommend going earlier in the day on weekends because sometimes they run out of certain types of bread after the lunch hour!

Yelp
4.5 stars Yum! Lots of parking in the back (but I heard from some locals that this place gets really packed and the line will wrap around the store corner. - We ordered: #5 so good. Swapped out their sauce for Mayo on Dutch Crunch bread Basic but so good. I do wish I asked for peppers, it would've 100% completed it. #13 more veggie vibe but still very delicious The wait also wasn't that long which was good! There's seating inside and outside so you can grab your lunch here and grub really quickly here as well. Minus points: - bread on both was extremely hard to chew. It made the bread not enjoyable bc the bread was clawing into my gums.

Yelp
Amazing service. Great food. I like sitting outside on their patio and taking it to go.. Be sure and get their own oven roasted turkey sandwich, the smoked turkey is not the same.

Yelp
Husband loved his sandwich ... however my experience was less 'excellent'. I ordered my sandwich on sourdough. My sourdough was so tough I could not bite through it without a lot of effort and literally yanking it to get through the bottom piece of bread... this activity caused the contents of the sandwich to spill and fly out from between the bread. My jaw was so sore after finally finishing this sandwich. I'm unsure if you can request the bread to be toasted ... but I highly recommend asking for that option on this or on any sandwich that doesn't already come that way. The contents of my sandwich were interesting (walnuts, cream cheese, sprouts, pesto- or supposedly)... and overall flavor was also interesting. However it was also slightly lacking. It was supposed to come with a pesto and it did not; if it did I could not locate it or taste it. It was an ok Vegetarian sandwich ... unique in Flavor combination. I'd be willing to try their other vegetarian options on the menu ... with a different bread option or at least insist on toasted sourdough bread. Husband would drive thirty minutes out of the way for a sandwich from here... I'd only come back if I'm with someone who insisted on driving 30 minutes out of the way for a sandwich from here. In other words ... a hair slightly better than ... meh.

Yelp
Lines are always long even on weekdays so we always call in to order and pick up. Best sandwiches ever, always consistent and great quality.

Yelp
Blown away by how good the sandwiches were. I got the California club and it was great. My girlfriend got the #1 Italian sub. She couldn't finish hers and I ate a few bites of it and omg I think I'm gonna have dreams about that Sandwich. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture but both were great. When I go back I'm definitely getting the #1

Yelp
The sandwiches are always amazing and the wait is always long because of it! Servers do the best they can. Ive never gone when it was not crowded for better or worse. Maybe its best planning the nexr visit on a weekday. Cant wait to eat here again!

Yelp
I came here after my workout class to share a sandwich with my husband. Lines were long but you can tell all the customers frequent here as they didn't have to look at the menu and knew what they wanted as they stepped up to the counter. When you first arrive, order your sandwich at the deli counter. Then pay at the cashier counter and wait outside. There is a window for you to grab your order. I got the #1 Italian sub with everything, light mustard, light pesto. The bread was super crispy even when I had to drive 25 minutes home before having a bite. The deli meats were perfectly sliced. I wish they had a sweeter sauce for the sandwich like a sweet onion to contrast the savoriness of the rest sandwich. My reasoning for 4 stars is due to the long wait times. I waited around 20 minutes to order my sandwich. Just be prepared to wait :)

Yelp
I got the #7 which is a Reuben. Probably one of the best I ever had. I got my girl the #1 1/2. Both sandwiches were delicious. Look small but are very filling. Few tables inside but plenty outside. Line can get pretty long so be prepared to wait awhile. Luckily I beat the rush. Food is fairly priced as well.

Yelp
My hubby and I ordered their California Club with sprouts and avocado on Dutch crunch. This was the definition of a 'fresh sandwhich'. The kind of sandwich you bite into and the veggies crunchy freshness just meld perfectly with the meat and spreads. The bacon was so tasty. This really hit the spot and was at a great price, I wish we lived closer, we got this on the way home from the Temple and it's all I ever wanted in a fresh sandwhich. So good. PS there was a very long line but we were starving and relied on the reviews and it was so worth it. Wait the line, in fact the longer you wait and hungrier you get the more it will hit. There's some seating inside but it's a little warm in there from the cooking and line, so seats outside are the way to go, but get taken a bit fast when it's busy hour. We ate in our car but it really didn't matter because the sandwhich was just prestige.
