Its a bar. There was a grill going outside, not sure if it was affiliated. I didnt get anything, it was sold out when I left the bar. The bartender was nice although the drinks gave me a headache the next morning. However, the dj was great! We danced and had a fun time! Mario is my fave. I will go back when Im in NY.

Can be a great local vibe or a bad night. Depends on the crowd at Moe's. Would call to check in what theme ea h night is having to confirm if it's your crowd that night. Also, young guys try to get in and makes it a hassle because they cannot handle their alcohol and want to stir up trouble.

Google
As always, the food was incredible! I usually get the pastrami (amazing + definitely get the Moe’s sauce), but I got a brisket burger this time and it was insanely good. Love the Swiss cheese, wish I had gotten onion rings, but it arrived hot + was so good especially with jalapeños added!

Google
Absolutely love this place. Very chilled and laid back. Comedy Mondays are so funny and sometimes upcoming music artist show up. A+++

Google
This place was a one and done spot for me. I liked sitting outside better then being inside this spot. As it got later in the night I wondered how anyone living above this place could enjoy their apartment with the super loud music and voices from this bar. I guess you have to be a regular customer to enjoy.

Google
I gave the experience a 3 because I used to come here years ago and it was one of my favorite places. But I hope that me showing up at 3pm on a Saturday (when happy hour starts at 12pm….its posted on their wall) and being told to wait 2mins as the bartender did his thing inside, was just me catching them on a bad day. The bartender rudely said “I’ve been trying to explain the specials and I can’t get a word in you just kept talking.” He then told us that happy hour ends in an hour…which was odd because it’s usually from 12-3pm. He said those were COVID hours. Anywho the bartender sucked and I hope he was just called in because everyone called off. He had shoulder length hair and little tattoos….pale. He was sneezing behind the bar without any attempts to contain the germs flying. Ruined the experience.

This place is fantastic! Perfect cross between a neighborhood dive bar and chill lounge. Love their Comedy and Open Mic night and the live DJ always kicking out good vibes. Drinks wise this place has a surprisingly great liquor selection for a small neighborhood bar including some obscure, uncommon and outstanding spirits from around the world (try the African Gin!). IDK where they learned to make Rum Punch but that $#!+ Is bangin! That's no NY rum punch tastes more like the Caribbean... Lastly they have the pizzas that are the perfect late nite snack to go with a few drinks. We shared a margarita, pepperoni and a truffle, they really hit the spot. All in all a very solid, neighborhood spot where anyone would feel welcomed. Check them out!

Nice spot. Love the old grungy appeal. Couldn’t settle on a nice cocktail and didn’t try the food. My rating is based sole on a nice spot to chill

Yelp
IF YOU ARE A WOMAN OR MAN OF CLASS DO NOT COME TO MOES!!! I was extremely disappointed how me and my friends were treated last night. We only came to moes for the music but when you visit you'll know the vibes after reading this review. I've tried to support this establishment a couple of times as it is black owned but unfortunately it's truly a chaotic atmosphere. You may get weird stares from the "regulars" if you don't look like them. You can ignore it but they will make you feel uncomfortable. The bar attracts aggressive men who will try to have their way with you. My friend was assaulted and the bouncer did nothing to the guy who committed the act. She complained multiple times and her voice was not heard. She called the police and when we went outside to speak with them the owner lied and said he "kicked" us out because we were drunk. This is dangerous for many reasons. This is a false statement; this simply did not occur, Drinking doesn't excuse assault; if my friend was drinking so what! we are at a bar supporting your business, and lastly; This is very telling if other assaults took place and the same line was used. The bar contains a very hostile crowd. Nothing but WEED smoke and druggies. Don't come here!
google avatar

Mellisa A.

Yelp
This establishment is unacceptably DISGUSTING AND DANGEROUS. The crowd is unruly, and when my friends and I arrived, we received dirty stares. Men continuously harassed us inappropriately, and when I reported this to the bouncer, he did absolutely nothing. Moments later, a man spat in our faces simply because we didn't want to talk to him. I called the police, but the owner lied to them, claiming we were drunk. This was the most disgusting experience l've ever had. I will never return. It's disappointing to try to support Black-owned businesses only to be let down when the owners fail to stand up for their customer because they fear protecting their reputation with the police. I made multiple complaints to the bouncers about the harassment, but they did nothing. If you are Black and successful, avoid this place. It seems to cater to people with nothing to lose and fosters a toxic, unsafe environment.

Yelp
It's always a good time when you have friends that know all the spots to hang out. My friend and I went to MO's last night and it was comedy night. I had a frozen mango margarita and it was everything! This bar seems to be the local neighborhood go to bar and I'm not mad at that. It was Monday night, late at that so it wasn't crowded but I'm sure the weekend is a different story. The next time you're looking for a great spot for drinks, you gotta go to MO's!
google avatar

Marina B.

Yelp
Fun bar in my neighborhood. I've walked past many times and it always seems to be a good vibe / decently busy. It's got a fun vibe, and great drinks at reasonable prices. Will be back for sure!

Trtrtttyu E.

Yelp
DL bar for older men. The alcohol is cheap and the service is unacceptable. The staff doesn't have any social skills and the manger is not the sharpest knife in the draw, just ignorant. The owner is never there, and he is on the spectrum.

Yelp
I had a chance to visit Mo's during my last visit to Brooklyn in February . I absolutely enjoyed Mo's. On that particular night, it was " Date Night" for my guy and I. The ambiance and atmosphere was chill, grown, and the drinks were strong . The people in the bar were friendly as I am a transplant . It was simple to find a two seats because of the friendly atmosphere . The music was late 90's to mid 2000 and it was a vibe . I can't rate the food this review because unfortunately, we had dinner plans . But on my return, I will add a review about the food .

Yelp
It's been awhile since I came here. Wrnt on a Wednesday night when they had an open mic night and it was a good time. Still great pri especially on drinks and the crowd was also great. Enjoyed my time here and looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
Out of the 4 years I've been living in Brooklyn I went here for the first time a couple months ago and honestly it was okay it wasn't what I expected.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Dave the wave is my bartender today, he is making my walk by stop in so fun. He's funny and inviting and my mood elevated by 100% after coming in here.

Yelp
Stopped by for a night out and to hear some hip hop. This bar seemed like a relaxed everyone where everyone was really friendly. I ordered one drink then went to play a few table games. I enjoyed that everyone in the bar danced salsa in-between hip hop songs. Really good vibes and I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
I wish I liked this place but I do NOT! I liked the lights outside lol Drinks suck!!!!! & WAYYYY overpriced.. so I asked for a drink & like it came out nothing the way I asked but I didn't say anything bc I didn't think it would be so much... only 2 drinks and 41.50... what!!!! Where am I ? This is a drive bar lmao I can't.. horrible I legit didn't finish the drink or my cousin from the pic you see... literally asked for no ice btw lmao Music is ok.

Yelp
Came here as a 2nd stop on my friends bday Labor Day Weeknd, it wasn't really packed when we came in it was a group of 9 of us and we had shots of whiskey which it the spot and we ordered all the wings on the menu lol .. the DJ was jamming playing old and new school music, form pop , reggae and R&B . I must say I'm pretty pleased with the DJ choices /. The chicken was good everyone busted it downnnnn!! This is a great spot to come to for drinks and wings on a Sunday you can't do go wrong with coming to Mo's cause it's hell of a vibe from the the outside rainbow lights to the album covered wall it's a VIBE here for sure so next time your downtown Brooklyn stop by MO's for some drinks and wings ..

Yelp
Once upon a time, many many moons ago Mo's used to be the shxt! I can remember complete duhty wine or nine here. Haven't been for years and I'm not sure if it's still one of "De Spots" but even with covid the upbeat vibe hasn't changed. Like most restaurants in summer 2020 and the foreseeable future, they've got their outdoor dinning area at the front and lucky for them they've also got space at the side. On my visit there were probably about two staff members on duty. We only saw one our bartender / waiter who was super friendly and competent. Music is still pretty much diverse and I'm loving it. My friend and I only stopped by for drinks forgetting we now have to purchase food in order to use their seating area. I'm cool with supporting our businesses especially during this difficult period and we ordered tacos. My friend was happy with her chicken and I with my steak. Tasty and filling. Thanks for the memories Mo! Supporting our local especially Black owned businesses. Yaaaaaay! The End.

Yelp
Every time my best friend is in town, this is our go too for drinks and good vibes. It's perfect for a casual night out and pretty much drama free. The bartenders are friendly and some nights they have a DJ. When the DJ's not there you can always rely on a great playlist (mixture of R&B, Rap, and Reggae). There's plenty of seating and an area where you can dance. The food is not bad either.
google avatar

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Those spit is such a vibe. Come on a Friday after 9 pm. The music was popping, good amount of ppl dancing, and the food was great. Will definitely come back again.
google avatar

Marsha S.

Yelp
I wenr to meet you with my friend. First time at this location. Music was good, not much seating, place is not big. I was annoyed by some flies on the window side towards the dj area. Then there were no flies. The bartenders were nice. We did order some shrimp tacos and some garlic fries, they were good. The drinks were better the second and third round. I'm not sure that I would return but I think is worth a shot.

Yelp
My neighborhood bar and grill. Beware WEEKENDS ARE PACKED!!! Don't say I didn't warn you. Even on the busiest night Its always a great time. Its always a feel good time , from the bartenders to the chefs in the back. The food is always made fresh and this the best bar food you can ask for. Drinks strong and most importantly the prices are not bad. If your downtown brooklyn, stop by mos and come in and enjoy yourself.
google avatar

Yelp
Happy to have stopped in while in the area after listening to jazz in the Fort Greene Park the staff and service was great . Awesome drinks , will definitely stop by again when in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Shoe string fries? Ewwww!!! What adult eats shoestring fries. They were decent tho.
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
It's legit hard to find a place with good and patient customer service. We had a big group and they legit made sure we were as comfortable as possible (thank you Joseph) and took care to ensure we all had the drinks we ordered (thank you Tay). All with a smile and reasonable prices. A gem in BK!
google avatar

Zory S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a nightcap after an event recently. I understand establishments need to make a profit to function, but $30 for a double tequila x Sprite is outrageous. It wasn't even Casamigos or Patron. It also wasn't a cocktail that required mixing. 750mL of Espolon is under $30 at any liquor store in Brooklyn. Paying that amount for a double is highway robbery.
google avatar

Hope M.

Yelp
Mo's was definitely a great bar many moons ago. There was a great mixture of every culture. The drinks were good. The bartenders knew you. There was always a familiar feeling of friends and family, that was then but now this establishment has taken on a different atmosphere. I do believe there were some investors in MO's and the changes are obvious. I have NEVER seen a white bartender in MO's who can't make drinks and almost snatched the money out of my hand or white DJ, who knows nothing about music. The only good thing is that the bathroom in the back has been illuminated and now you can actually see the toilet please understand some change can be good, however I don't believe this is it. Like every part of Brooklyn gentrification reaches everywhere even at your favorite bar.
google avatar

Kinna L.

Yelp
I went to this establishment last night and my friend and i were not just asked for Id's ....but then phone numbers, then addresses, then panty sizes by the bouncer and one of their staff at the door. They thought it was funny and cute to be disrespectful to 2 black women attempting to patronize their business. I'm not sure why two OLDER black men thought it was ok to attempt to "joke" that way, while at work. Especially after looking around the neighborhood and no longer feeling like we were in the black, respectful neighborhood Ft. Greene use to be. I seriously doubt they would have spoken to a new gentrified patron that way, so the next time you want to disrespect black women with words of misogyny test out your corny comedy routine on your mother before coming out here. We did not stay and will not be going back because It's not the same anyway.

Yelp
Accidentally came across this bar via a date... neither of us did the research so we were both a bit surprised. Friendly service but the Moscow mule was wayyy too sweet and the wine selection is very much on the lower end. It's definitely an old time neighborhood bar with some weird rules about men under 25 not being able to come in after certain hours. One bathroom. I think this place gets turnt up around 9pm with a dj. Not my vibe, but seemed cool!
google avatar

Loren S.

Yelp
Last night was my first time ever there. The environment was definitely cool on same calm vibes. The DJ was playing the tunes too, easily able to jam to every song with enough room to dance near the DJ. It was spacious as well on some two sublets type of floor plan. The drink was good, I don't prefer the cash only bar though..especially being a millennial I usually don't have cash on me luckily that wasn't the case last night. Overall definitely a place worth starting the night (having a few drinks & getting into party mood) and/or ending the night (chill night cap vibes). Con: One thing I didn't like was two staff member hugged up..when one was supposedly was the waitress as said by shawty herself. Other than that small hick up, it was all good and i enjoyed myself.

Noah T.

Yelp
I was having fun until the DJ got on the speaker and started yelling at people not to get their vaccines..... When it's legally required to enter the bar. That's going to be a no for me.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
My first time there I was not pleased with the staff. No smiles no positive vibes!! And my drink sucked!!!!! Maybe I will try on a Friday night early??

Dee D.

Yelp
AHHHHMAZING! GREAT energy, GREAT music, GREAT drinks, and an overall GREAT vibe! I really enjoyed my Saturday night...looking forward to visiting again! Dee

Yelp
Mo's is a great spot for week day happy hour and vibes! I can't believe I was so late on coming here. They have a great happy hour from 3-8 p.m with 2 for 1 well drinks, drafts and margaritas. The DJ spins good tracks (mostly 90s R&B/hip hop/ African etc) , and they have very attentive servers. Since there is no kitchen I highly recommend walking over to Fulton after and grabbing a burrito or pizza... or eat before you come. Don't expect to sit down and eat, come for nothing less than good drinks and jams.

Yaya H.

Yelp
They have roaches and told is it was no set price for shots then charged us $16 per shot.
google avatar

Shiori N.

Yelp
DJ plays good music based on HIPHOP , R&B . You can bring your food if you like because they don't serve food . nice environment ! ok cash only

Gia A.

Yelp
If I could give lower than a one star I would. There was a roach on my leg and the owner of the store only offered to give us free drinks in replacement of the traumatic situation. Terrible business, I won't be coming back.
google avatar

Rachel N.

Yelp
Been here twice now and it's been great! They had a block party the other week with music and dancing, with a set menu of ur typical bbq joints - I tried the ribs, corn, pastrami, baked beans, and the pulled pork. The pastrami is literally so tender omg!! Staff is really friendly and someone once told my bf while here that he has the nicest calves they've ever seen, so self esteem boosting too!
google avatar

Adeshola A.

Yelp
Went here to watch the NFL conference finals.. the drinks are good and the bartenders super nice and attentive. Jeff and Lexi are AMAZING!!!! They have food now and it's GOOD! Food stops at 1130 but happy hour is until 8 pm weeksays and 12-4 on weekends. They have a live DJ and the energy is great here!

Yelp
Having not been to Fort Greene in sometime, I decided to walk around the old neighborhood to see what changes have taken place. I walked up Fulton Street and during my walk saw some old timers who lived around the Ft. Greene Place area. They gave me the 411 on how things have changed diversely. Decided to cross over to S. Portland and ran across several restaurant bars and chose to walk into Mo's as I couldn't resist the lively energy. It was a great choice, as the Nets were in the playoffs, and being shown on the few flat-screens along the back of the bar. On a normal day, I could see that the bar is fairly spacious with high-tops along the opposite side of the bar, with enough space for food orders. But on this particular day, it was a tight squeeze just to get to the middle bar area. Everyone I encountered were pretty friendly, someone actually put in my drink order for me. The atmosphere was pumping with the game and the DJ playing hip hop in the background. During commercials they'd turn the music up and people would start grooving and the game would come back, then they'd concentrate on the game. Sports, plus a dance party? My kinda atmosphere. The DJ has an actual DJ booth set-up and is located in an upper room towards the back of the restaurant. The walls are lined with album covers and there are comfy chairs and bench seating all around. I ultimately ended up staying back in this room, having my drinks and listening to the music. I didn't eat so I can't describe the food, but for my time here I enjoyed myself.

Yelp
So we (Me and my good friend) went to Mo's twice in one weekend. We went Friday night around 11:45pm and stayed till closing. It was busy. We went again the following night around the same time and it was more crowded then on Friday. Atmosphere: small space, cool low key type of place. Wooden seats on one side of the table and bar stools on the other. A few couches around too. Bar is long enough and had additional seating. There were Two TVs. Service: real good. We were waited on two petite ladies. They were cool. No problem with the bouncer or dj Drinks : A two drink minimum to sit at the tables. Our drinks (mango Margaritas in a small glass) were $8. Strong Drinks. FOOD: There isn't any. Eat before you come. Music: perfect mixed of old school hip-hop and new stuff. I think the dj likes kendric lamar lol. Loved the music. CROWD: EVERYBODY Comes here. The young, old, black , white, latino, classy and a some ratchetness. Lol We made some new friends I am coming back here

Yelp
Currently my favorite place in Brooklyn but I am starting to see the changes. Going to give yall five stars because I used to love you. Going to point on the changes I see in hopes that you will abort mission. BLACK PEOPLE. BLACK MUSIC. YES. BROOKLYN. You get the vibe: if Biggie was an MTA worker he would go here after work. Its like the best afterwork chill spot there is. No food but you can bring in whatever you want! The DJ's play music as if you are in a club and you often find yourself losing control and asking yourself why am i grinding at 7:30pm? Here are the changes being implement that are just completely wack: MEASURED DRINKS! - that makes no sense. This is a black dive bar. So what is your Gin & Tonic is a little extra strong? I don't get it. Horrible New Bar Staff - seem VERY square. I like the black girls who never learned to bartend in their life and overpour. Bring them all back now. One Drink Minimum to enter the dance floor!! HAHAHAHAHAH I'm just gonna laugh at that one. Dancefloor!? Its two steps higher than the main bar!! One Drink!? ONE!? No comment. I love mos but its changing. Its one of the few bars that feel like Brooklyn slightly, still. Go quick before its fully gentrified.
google avatar

Tina M.

Yelp
Came here after a shyte time at Milk River and i loved the change of vibe. The decor was dope and the crowd aas even doper. People drinking, dancing and having fun always makes for a good ass time! The bay window in the back instantly became my favorite spot in the whole place and I cant wait for the weather to get nice so that I can really enjoy it and take it all in.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
Mo's is a cool little neighborhood bar/lounge in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn located not too far from Atlantic Terminal/Barclay's Arena. Been here a few times. Best night to go is Saturday where it gets turnt up. Up-to-date variety of music, nice full bar selection and cool urban decor. Decent to go to for a nice bar date, happy hour or if you wanna come with a group of friends on a weekend night to let loose.
google avatar

Candace H.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in Brooklyn is located across the street from Mo's so I usually go there to meet up with friends. However, I have been to Mo's a handful of times but my most recent visit the experience was simply phenomenal. Now when I say phenomenal I mean this place has the most laid back vibe during happy hour. It's a great place to meet up with a friend for some drinks and listen to some good tunes. I was very impressed with the variety of hip hop and r&b that was played while we were here. The bartender was friendly and attentive. There was only 1 television in the front bar area which can be problematic if there are multiple games of interest on at one time. Nonetheless we had a great time hanging at the bar, listening to music, and of course people watching. I have also been to Mo's a handful of times on weekend nights. This place gets incredibly crowded. Like literal sardines in a can but it's a fun place and lots of dancing goes on here on weekend nights if that's your thing. I wound definitely recommend this place for drinks after work. I know I will definitely be back very soon!

Felice A.

Yelp
Mo's has the most friendly staff and strongest drinks. It was one of my favorite hangouts. Tuesday karaoke nights were so much fun.

Yelp
Had a great time here ....in the Heart of downtown Brooklyn...working here for years & went w/ some friends here drinks & service was awesome.....we danced, drank then danced & drank some more ....music & the vibe & ambiance & the whole place I felt so completely comfortable there great night always
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
Drinks are decent price. Neighborhood bar and dance place that I would go to if my night was cut short or if I'm just bored. Place is full of people who just stand around. The speakers at the place really kill the music. But it's a whatever place with no expectations.
google avatar

Jermaine R.

Yelp
After seeing food reviews on all these posts, I met a friend for happy hour and went hungry. The waitress said no food is served, just drinks. So not sure if reviews are out dated or if food is only served on certain nights. However, if you like to drink this spot is for you. A steady crowd came in and out and they have an elevated dance/lounge area towards the back. Good place for convo after work. Note: TVs has issues on the evening I went, which could have impacted the experience of someone trying to view the games, while tipsy. lol.
google avatar

Kristine G.

Yelp
I honestly haven't been here in a while (pre-covid) but this will always have a special space in my heart. It's a place where people from the community come together for a good time. The drinks are reasonably priced and the people there are awesome too! 10/10 recommend this.
google avatar

Jewel M.

Yelp
Breezed through for a couple drinks on a Friday night.. DJ spinned a lil old school hiphop and some R&B. The crowd was mixed...some laid back, some a bit on the "rough" side. Some older, some younger...The dance floor was packed and everyone seemed to be extremely inebriated and having a blast when we got there. Full bar of course, but they had NO Chardonnay. :( ...So, I substituted with a glass of Pinot followed by 2 shots of Patron! Yikes! =) o_O The bartender was friendly, attentive and quick. Most of the patrons were a bit on the rough side..not really my type of scene. But it's a cool spot overall...nothing hellish or horrendous took place...!
google avatar

Kwame S.

Yelp
"I want to go back!!!" I came here with a couple of people after having margaritas at another place. I will say that I had a blast. Although this bar seems to be frequented by Blacks and Latinos, there was a nice variety of folks and the place is pretty laid back and chill. One has to admit with the changing racial make up in Brooklyn, I have noticed that many bars pretty much segregated - not like Jim Crow segregation. I did not really experience that here. Plus, the people, no matter the background, seem cool and easy to talk to. The bartender, whose name that I forget, working on sunday (Nov 8th) was really sweet and cool. I would order drinks from her any day. I cannot say too much about the place because I had only 2-3 drinks, which is about 45-60 minutes when I am already drunk. I did like what I saw and I definitely want to return.

Yelp
I've been to Mo's a few times over the years, most recently last night. (When did they drop the "e" in Moe's?) I've always found it to be a pretty good time. Nothing particularly standout about it, but unlike some other people's experience here, it's always been consistent for me: nice bartenders, a nice, chill vibe, and good music (90s hip hop and r&b the last few times I've been here). Haven't been here on one of the "sports" nights, so I can't really comment on it there. There are some nice cozy chairs to sit in near the front, which makes it more welcoming. There's always an eclectic mix of people here, and diversity in the crowd is always a huge plus for me. Last night, my phone was dying by the time I got here, and even though it was SUPER busy, I took a chance and asked the bartender if by some chance he had a place where I could charge my phone. Before I could even finish my sentence, he took the phone behind the bar and took care of it--he was so sweet about it. It's the little things!

Yelp
Recently went to Moe's. Me and my friends sat on one of the benches in the back with a small table and apparently there is a "two drink minimum" to sit in these seats. This is what our sever told us. Though I planned to order a drink when I was READY, the server came to us twice asking us for our order BEFORE she told us about this "policy". It made me not feel thrilled to order anything at all. I don't completely blame her because it seems like this was instilled by management. Absolutely a thumbs down in service. We did order drinks but even after this, the check was brought to us immediately. We didn't even have time to think of a second round (not that we really wanted one regardless). I give two stars due to the good music. If that's ALL your looking for, then come here.
