The Best Restaurants In Harlem - New York - The Infatuation

"Mo’s Burgers started as a street cart selling burgers and hotdogs in front of the eponymous Mo’s barber shop in the ‘90s. Since then, Mo has upgraded to an orange food truck that serves everyone in the neighborhood looking for an affordable lunch. The burgers, which cost $2.50, are thin and otherwise unremarkable, but there’s a generous condiment bar—and everything tastes better when you’re getting this much of a deal anyway. These days, Mo might not always be open when you get there, but if he is at his usual spot at Lenox Avenue between 117th and 118th Streets, stop by for freshly grilled meat and fantastic lemonade." - Neha Talreja, Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim, The Curious Uptowner

Good simple cheap burgers. But the place is more than the burgers. Mo is a nice guy. It’s good to see that he is starting to give the flag to a younger generation. There was no line when I was there. The service was immediate. Mo came later to check. Don’t expect anything fancy. Good prices: 2$ for a burger, 4.50$ for a large cheeseburger.

Google
I mean for the price I think it’s okay to get a precooked DRY burger. It was tough like leather. The lemonade was water down. The cup was greasy. The gentleman was ok; not much interaction. The atmosphere was great!!! The neighborhood men in the vicinity kept heckling Mr. Moe asking for seats and air conditioning. Lol.

Google
Mo is a great guy and his burgers are fantastic especially for the great price

Google
Mo was super friendly and chatty with everyone in front of us in the line. He barely spoke a word to us, got the vibe he was annoyed we were there and wanted us out of there as soon as possible. We were the only tourists in the queue, not saying that's his reason or if it was something else, but I can't think what.. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't suggest it to others. The publicity is not deserved tbh. Burger was worth the $2 it cost but no more

Google
Mos burgers is an average $2 hood burger spot at best nothing more nothing less. Last time I went Mo was mad disrespectful and started cracking jokes to the next customer because I had a large order. Very unprofessional would avoid at all costs very disrespectful and rude. Mos money is only good if you are from the block.

I'm Thai people and never visit to new york but i see mo's burger and his barber on youtube he such a good man i love his barber so much!

Google
Burgers are pretty good, hotdogs are even better. Like many others I visited this placed after seeing his stand on YouTube. The burgers were a bit burnt but for the price you can't really complain. Prices are very reasonable. The drinks are too sugary for my taste but that varys from person to person.

Yelp
Taste t here! For $3 it's a great deal ! Better the McDonald's or Burger king ! For a small cheeseburger and a small lemonade it was $4.50 , you have onions / relish or sauerkraut as your toppings , theres is no seating here so your have to find a spot on the avenue or take it to a park ! The service can be slow for like 15 minutes or so depending on the time of day! But you're get you're money worth here .

Yelp
Awesome, great priced truck-served hamburger! Great to have friendly Mo's in the neighborhood so I can grab a nice burger when needed. Large cheeseburger better than a fast food chain for only $5!

Yelp
The burgers and hot dogs are extremely overcooked. You cannot eat them. Mo, the owner is very, very rude. Nobody needs to be abused by him. Spend a couple bucks more anywhere else.

Yelp
Fast and delicious and you can't beat the price! My favorite between the two was the hot dog but honestly both are great and worth trying

Yelp
The burgers are decent for the price you pay, think cheap, thin, and dry. While the service feels like you're at some rude family member's backyard for a BBQ. I've been here several times and this place is a neighborhood staple but the owner can be quite rude. I waited on a long line and when it was time to order I asked for a small cheeseburger which I've ordered numerous times and it's listed on the menu. The response , "we don't have no small cheeseburgers just large ones!!" and looking at me like I made up the fact that you list small cheeseburger on your menu. I'm a fan of street food and most vendors are friendly and appreciate their customers. Mo clearly has a following and regular customers which I'm happy about so he clearly doesn't need my business. No cheap burger is worth a long line and rude attitude.

Yelp
Came from florida to New York on vacation with my girlfriend. I've been to Mo's plenty of times and previously I always loved it. The most recent time I went I was so dissatisfied and so disappointed that I knew forsure that was my last time. I came 1,000 + miles away only to have Mo belittle me and try to make a joke of me in front of everyone because he couldn't keep up with my order. I told my girlfriend so many great things only to be treated like a piece of trash. I stood in line for almost 30 minutes told him about 6-7 items on his menu he paused me repeated it back incorrectly and then when I told him what I wanted he said that I didn't say that. Not only leaving it at that he continued to make jokes to customers behind me and all around. How are you going to tell me what I said ? And then he tried to make a joke to my girlfriend saying I didn't say that. She just looked at him like he was slow. Awful place and even worse service. Strictly for the hood I have NO IDEA how he ended up on vice so many better burger spots in the area. Try willies burgers :)! PS: that is not how you treat a customer I was nothing but excited to eat and respectful when I placed my order. Really a shame because I was a regular and recommend to others often but no more

Yelp
Happy to support Black Business like MOs food truck! MOs has been feeding the community on the go since the 90s. He makes the best burgers, hot dogs and fruit punch/ lemonade, reasonably cheap!! $2 for small burgers 3+cheeseburgers & $1.50 for hot dogs. He keeps his rates affordable so kids, and everyone on budget can enjoy; he is humble, hardworking and local Hero in Harlem! As well as a navy Vet. If that wasn't enough you can get a shape up at his low key barber shop while you wait specializing Afros, quick cuts, fades, line ups, shaves! Happy to put folks on to one of the local veterans of Harlem! Located at 153 Malcolm X at the corner of 117th. Support the locals who are authentically Harlem!

Yelp
Definitely overhyped. Not even on a top 10 best burgers. All made to order so definitely had a fresh, hot flavor, but nothing else. Bun was also pretty squished. Overall meh.

Yelp
Been eating his burgers for years,he never disappoints . With that being said it's about time he gets help. He's a people person so he takes time and talk to customers while the line build up(so have patience) I do love the new truck . If you want a great burger go see mo in harlem!

Yelp
literally i had such the worst experience in my life my first ever going being a new yorker and from harlem .first off especially from pandemic leaving condiments outside for self serve for everyone to use with no gloves or hand sanitizer befor using them .my son gets his hair done right down the block and always wanted to try it so this day i was able . worst experience EVER WITH MY CHILD all i ordered was a burger cheese fries and a drink the burger took as long as the microwave did ,they had no fries ready after 11:00 so why say you sell that .than the drink i got a large to wait to get back to the establishment for my son to say everything was horrible especially the water down drink that crystal light was stronger than so i takes the drink back for the man to tell me because i asked for a different flavor trying to give him benefit of the doubt maybe it was just that flavor he tells me he won't be serving me a drink ever again and what do i need my money back when i tell you the only reason he wasn't wearing the drink was because i was with my son i have never been so appalled that i stop to show love where i'm from showing my son and i got treated like peasant .mind you him and the wife look like they spend they money they earn every night on 125 lexington or the nearest meth clinic either way please if you care about respect or you're taste buds DONT NOT GO THERE u wanted to be treated with respect and food that's cooked properly go somewhere else PLEASE also menu out of date every price on the menu was not the price add a dollar more to everything or 1.50

Yelp
I work in the neighborhood outdoors and one day I smelled a delicious aroma. Someone was definitely cooking up a meal. I look over and I see Mo's Burger stand. He just opened up again since the pandemic started. Many ppl who walked by where I work commented "MO is back!!!!". Then I see them rush over to the stand. I counted at least 10 ppl who said that in the past 2 days. That definitely says something about this place. It seems he is definitely a staple in this community. The line seems to always be long starting at around 11am. The food is very affordable and definitely tasty for the price. Don't come here and give a 3 stars and under just because the burger doesn't taste gourmet.... It's $2-3 for a burger. Of course it is not going to taste gourmet. But it sure as hell tastes good for the price you pay! You really can't beat $2-$3 burgers. He offers fruit punch and lemonade as well!

Yelp
All these people here voting low is cause they expecting a Wendy's or Shake Shack burgers. C'mon ppl the burgers are $2 for a reason the man is helping his community. Made it affordable for the less fortunate. Y'all think Vice did an episode on the burger taste, c'mon now.

Kathy P.

Yelp
Nasty a** attitude and I asked if he had more sauerkraut for the hot dogs because there was a hair in the one he had sitting out. His response was, "oh well, that's all I have." Instead of having the toppings in the back where he should have them with nasty, disgusting people out during times where Covid still exists, he's allowing everyone to touch the same utensils to self-serve toppings. Thus, having hair and people talking all over it. Lord knows what else was in it besides the hair. If I wasn't pregnant and ordering for my child as well I wouldn't care so much but I'm definitely reporting to the health department. :)

Yelp
This food truck, no matter what time of day I come by, is always kept very clean. Mr. Mo is always so nice ...and funny!!! He makes it worth the visit!! If you are from Harlem, you know about the "Mo Burger." It is the most delicious burger in Harlem and I wouldn't go anywhere else. He has an array of other items to choose from, as well. Extremely affordable prices!! His vibrant, yellow truck is easy to spot on LENOX AVENUE, BETWEEN 117th & 118th STREET. Come and check it out for yourself. You'll be glad you did!!

Jay B.

Yelp
Caught Mo up and running at 10:30 this morning while walking to the train. He's a good guy, and his cart (currently a table) is one of the best markers of nice weather in the neighborhood. If you're traveling 100 blocks because you think he's competing with the city's high-end burgers, you're a nut. But, $5 will get you a large burger and a drink, and for that money, the burger is legitimately great. Just like what you'd get if you fired up the backyard grill. The hot sausage is no joke, either. Get a drink to go with it.

Yelp
Amazing food right in the heart of Harlem baby!

Yelp
This place is a bit overhyped it's a good joint for a $2 burger but that's it. To me it doesn't seem like anyone here that posted a picture haven't been here before because all the photos were of the video vice did on mo's a year ago. It's alright.

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Burgers and prices are the best in Harlem!!!!!! Every time it gets warm I think to myself "I wonder if Mo's is open now?!"

Brandon C.

Yelp
Saw a video about Mo's on YouTube and thought I'll try it out. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Everything was homemade and affordable. The cheeseburger had a lot of flavor and was made fresh off the grill. I got the half and half for my drink (the lemonade and fruit punch combo). I can taste both in my drink. Definitely want to return.

Yelp
Worst fries I have ever had at WindCreek Bethlehem. Dark brown to black. When I complained and that they aren't changing their cooking oil, I was told threats how they are. Do not recommend this place and they won't make things right.

Yelp
community service not just a business, the man is an asset to Harlem and has a heart for the neighborhood

This place isn't even there. Went two different days well before closing time and they are not there.
