The 21 Best Restaurants On Martha’s Vineyard - Martha's Vineyard - The Infatuation

"Are you familiar with the 1981 Police song “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”? Well, it captures how we feel about Mo’s Lunch, a self-proclaimed “sandwich shop of sorts” inside the Portuguese-American Club. They have ginormous sandwiches, like the Italian with ample mortadella, unhinged desserts like cookies that defy the cookie-to-mouth-size ratio, and a rotating selection of weekly specials—we’re still thinking about the grilled swordfish steak sandwiches. The Leo Burger is by far the best bang for your buck, though. It's a smashed and griddled four-ounce patty loaded with cheese, shreddy lettuce, pickles, and a housemade special sauce, all for $10. The Portuguese-American club's space is also reminiscent of a friendly 90’s basement (complete with an N64 and mismatched furniture). Order takeout on your way to the beach, or chow down at one of the many outdoor picnic tables." - morgen schroeder, tanya edwards

Google
Maybe the best Italian sandwich of my life. Not super fast… but super good. We ate it so quick only got a picture once I nearly finished. Roast beef was 4.5 star.

Google
This place has earned its near 5 star rating. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The regular menu is amazing, but if there is a special that sounds even remotely good to you, it will be better than you ever imagined. It doesn't matter what the type of food is - Italian, Mediterranean, Asian and whatever else catches their interest, it's all absolutely delicious. One of the few places that has no quality dip in summer and I know I won't be disappointed. Portion sizes are massive - I always get 2, sometimes 3 meals out of an order. I the cookies amazing too and tremendous! The homemade soups are always delicious too and the quart price is a absolute steal for how much stuff they pack into it. Employees are super nice and chill, and work like a smooth oiled machine behind the counter. The vibe is friendly and welcoming. Did I mention the food is out of this world? Make sure you get some homemade ranch or garlic aoili to dip your fries or onion rings in - and bring a small army to share.

I had read about Mo's, located inside the Portuguese American Club, Oak Bluffs, being a hidden gem. It was our first stop and first dining experience on Martha’s Vineyard. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside was warm and welcoming. Our lunch consisted of a cauliflower melt and roast pork sandwich. Outstanding! Note... they do offer free water, I didn't notice until after I had bought a water. Make sure you grab a cookie, the size of your head, before you head out! My pick lemon sugar!! Thank you for a delicious lunch Mo's, we are looking forward to seeing you the next time we are on Martha’s Vineyard!

Great sandwiches! We got the pork bahn mi, roasted beef and cheeseburger. All were excellent. The waffle fries also hit the spot. Big sandwiches and easily shared. I highly recommend and look forward to going back.

Google
It really should remain less well known, alas, greatness deserves recognition. An absolute Oasis of gigantic incredibly well executed sandwiches, super nice people, and enormous made daily cookies. It would be nice if some tech billionaire could invest in putting at least a thousand more of these places on the planet to help humanity

Staying in MV for the week, and saw this was across from the house I’m in. It’s AMAZING! It was hard choosing between the sandwiches, and I really want to go back for salads and tinned fish. Got to sit on the couch in the back by the N64, also an added bonus. Plus the staff were super friendly and helped us decide what to order. Pictured are the filet-o-fish, hot beef sandwich, waffle fries, and the oatmeal chocolate cookie.

I've had probably ten meals at Mo's already since they opened and I just love it so much. The people, the vibes, the service, the food, the love, the creativity! The sandwiches are saucy and delicious, the desserts are like a hug to your heart, the onion rings are outrageous, and you can sit outdoors and enjoy the weather even on cool fall days! Seriously support them - they are incredible community members and the food is LEGIT!

Google
Some of the best food on the island and at a great price too. The regular menu has great vegetarian options (Vegan banh mi, cauliflower melt) and there are often specials or soups that are veg friendly. Grab a glass of water because it's all pretty salty. Don't skip the dessert and don't pretend like you're going to share a cookie, you'll want the whole thing. Just double check your order before you leave, they get busy and I've left without my cookie a few times!

Yelp
The BEST FKG sandwich on the entire island!!!! I kid you not!! Fabulous and full! Thank you, Maureen! (Mo), you rock! Denyse B..

Yelp
We had Mo's cater our brother's celebration of life event at the Portuguese American club. When I tell you the sandwiches were top notch...no lie. The Italian is my favorite, seeded roll, perfect selection of meats and cheese with hots evenly distributed! I had been looking for a sandwich like this for months and go figure...of all places and events. Listen to me....the vegetarian is perfectly assembled with tofu, spicy aoli etc...try this out! There was so much food I can't even imagine trying to explain. I come from a catering background and owned my own business for years. I do not review restaurants unless they meet or exceed my expectations and this place...yeah! They have Picnic tables and it's right in Oak bluffs close to Vineyard Haven. Lastly, the people who run this place are exceptional Humans. Love and Blessings ya'll. Greg

Yelp
LOVE Mo's, simply the best value on-island, as it couples incentive and welll-executed cuisine with super-sized portions at affordable prices. Good spot, away from the crowds - it's where locals go.

Yelp
Holy Cow!!! So glad my son and I stumbled upon Mo's this weekend. My wife was on the MS ride and we were touring around and after a quick yelp search we rode on in to Mo's. I ordered the Banh Mi with pork, and my indecisive son followed suit! Shortly after our arrival, the place filled up with locals after their kids' sports. I knew we were in the right place! But, little did I know, we could have ordered only one sandwich...these things were huge and full of meat, cilantro, carrots, pickles onions, sliced jalapeño...and the sauce!!!! We decided to share one and save the other for mom after her ride. She was very pleased! We'll be back the next time we get to the island. One tip would be to get their early or order ahead. They were pretty slammed on Saturday although everyone left with a smile.

Yelp
OK, Yelp, you don't need me to tell you about Mo's. But I can't help it. I have been hearing about Mo's Lunch for years from visitors and islanders alike. No one say's Mo's Lunch, actually. Either just Mo's or if they worry you don't know what's what, it's "Mo's at the Polish American Club". Which is true. But what they also say is that the sandwiches are extra good. And that is TRUE AF. I had the daily special - suppressetta, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella on a baguette. This sandwich made me happy when I ordered it. Then when I ate it and now when I'm remembering it. Like a hat trick of happy. The service, the vibe, the prices - all great, too. Just go. Go Mo's. You'll be 3x as happy as if you went anywhere else I'm certain of it.

Yelp
MO's is a little deli/restaurant located inside the Portuguese Club (PA) in Oaks Bluffs. Upon entering the establishment, you will need to go up to the counter (on the left as you enter) and place your order. The menu is straight forward and easy to see and read. Some of Mo's dishes are pretty standard, but they do have some original creations that sound very good--I can't wait to try cauliflower melt. The dining lobby is very large with plenty of seating options. Against the wall on your left--as you face the counter--there are condiments, napkins, plates and plastic utensils. After placing your order, you can take a seat and wait for your order to finish. Once done your name will be called. Guests of Mo's have access to the Portuguese Club's lounge. It's accessible from a side door just to the right of Mo's counter. I recommend taking the opportunity to visit the PA lounge because it not open to the public. The PA Club is a membership-driving organization that caters to members only, with the exception of Mo's patrons. The drink prices are very good. You can get mixed drinks for $8 and buy 16 ounce beer for $3.50 to 5.00, depending on brand and type. Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer is the low-end beer, while local (New England microbrews) are the high end beers that sell for $5. It's probably the best prices on the island. Mo's is not fancy or high brow, but it's a place locals frequent. The prices are good, as are the portions. I definitely recommend dining here when on Martha's Vineyard.

Yelp
Ok I finally went to MO's for lunch the other day with my son. Only hearing good things. We ordered the turkey sandwich and the special bbq pulled pork sandwich. The sandwiches were on point. The turkey was shredded with lettuce tomatoes and pickles. Sooo good!! The special was good, but my son did not share so I only did get a small bite. Anyway we will be returning to MO's. Great spot!!

Yelp
This is where the islanders eat. Exceptional food. Great quality, amazing prices. And the absolute best desserts on the island. It's not fancy. But wholesome and delicious, and and the best old-school bar on the island!

Yelp
They once again hit it out of the ball park last night! The fish and chips were out of this world! Perfectly cooked, large portions of everything. Fish was crispy and flaky inside. The fries were delicious and freshly made. The Cole slaw was beyond with a vinegar dressing. Wish this was offered at least once a week! Best fish and chips on island!!! Seriously!!!!!

Yelp
Unbelievable Food!!! Staff is amazing, portions are impressive! A cool little spot off the beaten path but very worth giving them a try! They do donuts on Saturdays.. they are HUGE! Different kinds all the time! The tuna melt is my favorite, but I've heard the cauliflower melt is insanely good as well!! Go check 'em out!!

Yelp
polenta fries more like "porridge fries" I don't think they know first you cook the polenta, cool it, shape it etc. cut it into fries, have it all ready from the cooler to bread or whatever and then drop in the hot oil for a minute. this was soupy polenta in a deep frier for 10 min or more, still remained the consistency of porridge, and super salty, not pleasant
