Moshiko™ | Falafel & Shawarma

The bywater has been lacking in quick, fresh options for a while and this is absolutely the solution. Everything looks like it was prepared minutes before I walked in the door (you can see all the ingredients on the assembly line from behind a glass case). Falafel is the best I’ve ever had. Only falafel I’ve ever had that isn’t dry…like at all. The store itself is beyond sparkling. I truly don’t know how they keep it so clean in there. And lastly, the family that runs the place are very sweet and welcoming every time.

My oh my, what have we got here? My new favorite shawarma joint? You bet your spicy tots. Got the beef shawarma bowl with rice, pickled veg, red cabbage, curry cabbage, corn, hummus, chili sauce, and garlic sauce. Beef and rice? Seasoned to perfection. Toppings and sauces? So fresh I wouldn’t be surprised if they were made on the spot. Veg? Perfect and crispy. Chili sauce? Perfect and spicy. Garlic sauce? Orgasmic. Y’ALL… THIS IS 2.5lbs OF FOOD… 2.44lbs to be exact… Grab a couple sides of pita and you can comfortably feed a family of four with the single entree… that’s $4.50/meal for healthy, fresh, delicious shawarma… whoa… Service was perfect. Very friendly staff. Place is so clean I’d eat on the floor. I love you, Moshiko.

The food was absolutely delicious and so authentic. The salads were tempting and very diverse. The staff was very friendly, my husband and I even drove an hour just to eat it … it was totally worth it. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing. The salads, dips and sauces are all homemade and perfectly seasoned and spiced. The meats are flavorful and moist. Everything tastes super fresh and many of the sides are very unique. A bowl of food is about $20 and lasts me 2-3 meals - the portions are huge! So happy to have this in the neighborhood.

I had not eaten shawarma in such a long time and their chicken shawarma just hit the right spot. Talk of flavourss, perfect balance of spice and seasoning. If you haven’t tried them i honestly dont know what youre waiting for. My order came out so fast and to add on that their customer service is 10/10. Would definitely recommend. Before i forget, the portions are generous too. Ill be back for the lamb and beef shawarma. Day made☺️☺️

Came to New Orleans from Chicago to visit family and was looking for the most authentic yet tasty shawarma spot and let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! Everything was so fresh and yummy, the staff was so nice and nothing overpriced. 6 stars if I could! :))

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The food was absolutely incredible. So fresh, juicy, and well seasoned. I got a chicken shawarma bowl and 6 falafel‘s. The bowl and all the toppings were delicious (you get to pick 5 toppings from a fresh bar). The owner was making the falafels fresh and when he gave us our order he included two extra in little cups for our drive home. So sweet and genuinely the best falafel I’ve ever had. Light and crispy, well seasoned and not dry at all. Such an incredible restaurant run by a lovely family. Very excited to have them in the Bywater

Legit the BEST beef shawarma in New Orleans…I’m not a big red meat person but this place makes it so delicious. The meat is so juicy and tender and then all the topping are just phenomenal!!! I will shamelessly admit I think about this sandwich all the time 🤤

I came across this spot by chance. The food is set up on a line and looks fresh. I tried the wrap, which was tasty, and the fries were cooked to order, hot and crispy.

There's not enough hype on this place. It's delicious! Only 3 things on the menu but you can make unlimited combos. Ordered the shawarma saj wrap traditional style and spicy. Fresh ingredients and made to order in front of you on delicious laffa flatbread. Trying to be healthy and I should've said no fries, but they were hot and fresh so I'll jog extra tomorrow. Place is super clean and staff is nice too. It's mumtez, يلا!

It was nice to see a Shawarma and falafel restaurant open I'm a big fan of this Mediterranean type food. They have a very fresh selection. Kind of like make it yourself bowl. I got the Shawarma but next time I'll try to falafel. You can choose different sauces and he recommended the pomegranate sauce and it was a good choice for my Shawarma. It has an essence of suite, but it went well with the meat and vegetables. The portions were really nice, I was able to have some leftovers. And they tasted good the next day as well. The service was good and they were very helpful. They also have sandwiches as you'll see in the menu picture.

I tried Moshiko for the first time. I got the beef shawarma sandwich/wrap which came with an order of fries. I added a side of falafel to that. I absolutely loved it. The shawarma was excellent and the falafel excellent too. Crisp to the bite fluffy seasoned and green(as it should be) on the inside. The hummus was very good as well! The service was efficient, dining in was a clean and comfortable area. Portion (shawarma size) very good. I would strongly suggest you have the mango (Amba) sauce in the shawarma! Definitely an authentic cuisine here. Next visit will have to be one of the shawarma bowls and more falafel.

I usually go to another spot up the street for all my middle eastern food needs but I wanted to give this spot a go since they're a bit closer to me! This place is super cute and simple. The cleanliness and intentional presentation of this space and food service area immediately had me pumped to give it a go. As I suspected the food was amazing and left me feeling great about my decision. I'll definitely be back.

So clean and organized. Very kind people. Fresh food that is not over processed. Enormous portions so you'll have leftovers or can share.

100/10!! This was my first time trying this place and I will definitely be back. It is SO clean inside. The service was amazing! They gave us the falafel for free! Y'all have to come here! (We couldn't wait to dig in, so the pictures are a few bites in)

Just noticed this spot last night while out for a drive- so glad I stopped. Got a beef shawarma bowl to go. Excellent, I highly recommend. For about $20 (before tip), I got a very generous bowl that could have easily been 2 meals, had I not been famished. All the sides and pickled veggies were beautiful- very fresh and colorful, crisp, and flavorful. Felt very healthy, very satisfying.

Excellent Mediterranean food! The beef and falafel were my favorite but everything I tried was a 10/10. Huge portions and friendly staff!

I'd recommend this to anyone who listens. I've been to my share of shawarma places in the US and abroad. The food here is legit and perfect for quick takeout lunch. It's set up a la Chipotle. It's very clean in there and the spread is beautiful. Will absolutely go again.

Clean, good, fast. Polished marble floors and attentive service make this a good option for lunch or dinner.

The best falafel in the city!! The collection of delicious salads and side dishes are amazing! The people who run it are the nicest folks.

Great food and so excited for a vegetarian-friendly option on St. Claude--BUT. My second time in, it was a busy weeknight and I was waiting to order when 2 men came in and insisted their order take precedence, shouldering me aside. When I complained, and then asked the counter guys what was going on, they didn't respond but went on making the 2 guys dinners. 20 minutes later, the 2 guys were happily eating and I was still waiting. It's capital-B Bro-town in there. Too bad.

Delicious new mediterranean spot. Menu doesn't have a lot to choose from right now-- falafel, chicken and beef shawarma, either in a wrap or bowl-- but all of the sides and sauces are home made and legit.

Amazing!! I got the Falafel Bowl - this was tons of food! The falafel was fresh and the green spicy sauce was so good (on top the hummus). Highly recommend, good little spot in the bywater.

I ate at Moshiko last night - I had the falafel bowl with hummus, baba ganoush, spicy purple cabbage, marinated turnip (so delicious and new to me!), something wonderful with carrots and a heavenly white sauce and a spicy green sauce. I'm old and like most Americans I've eaten a TON of falafel and all the sides from forever and I have NEVER had this meal this good. We got there about 8pm so it had been open for a while, yet everything was as if they'd made it 15 minutes ago. Just one detail: the crust on the falafel was paper thin and cracked with a pleasing crunch and them melted in your mouth!! The pickled turnips though - holy chao - crunchy and firm with a bright red spicy vinegar sauce. Not too spicy - JUST RIGHT! I can't wait to go back and try the chicken shwarma. What A Pleasure!

I am so happy this restaurant exists. Easily the best shawarma I've had, the quality of the beef is unbelievable. Both the bowl and the saj were incredible, very generous portions and fresh, delicious sides. Everyone working inside was very sweet and welcoming and the cardamom coffee at the counter was such a lovely gesture of hospitality. Please pay them a visit, even in the summer heat (the dining room is cool and immaculate) it's absolutely worth the trip.

First the good: the servers are lovely, the restaurant is sparkling clean, the hummus is amazing, the vegetables are fresh! We were disappointed with the shawarma, the flavor was bland and the meat was dry. We did arrive late, at about 7:30, so perhaps that was part of the problem in that the meat trumpets were toward their end. Would also like to see some feta, yogurt and other tangier toppings added as options. We live within walking distance and we are so thrilled to have a Mediterranean place close by. We will try the falafel next time.
