This place is great and the food even better. It's got a cool aesthetic, hip for all ages. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and the pizza was 🔥. My niece demolished a whole slice of pizza and a bread stick at only 1 year old. Someone who had previously munched here, engraved my name on the wall. What an honor. The place was clean and so were our plates. Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My husband and I really loved the toasted cheese ravioli with pizza dipping sauce as an appetizer. It was filling enough for me, so I settled for a 6" cheese pizza. Very flavorful! My husband enjoyed and sausage and grilled chicken pizza. Service is very kind and prompt. Everything was great!

Easily the best pizza in Bloomington. Always perfectly cooked and so so good. If you like Detroit style pizza you’ll love it. The service has always been incredible too, very willing to be flexible with customizations.

Very interesting. The walls, tables, benches are all covered with graffiti. You get to take a marker and write all over everything. We have the Divine Swine Pizza. It was wonderful.

Just had sandwich, fries and wings. Sandwich was great. Wings were tough. I will be taking them home to cook some more. Nice atmosphere. I would love to come back and try their pizza. Shouldn’t have to mention this but it is be on more uncommon in the restaurant industry…. There restrooms were clean as well.

As good as my memories of this place from 40 years ago. The deep dish (sauce is on top) is so flavorful and delicious! This style of pizza is what is now catching on as "Detroit style," but really, it is deep dish Sicilian. The crust has a nice crispy edge with a fluffy, airy center. It is not doughy like so many other "Detroit " pizzas are now. The sauce is tangy and spicy but not too over the top. I got the ground sausage and pepperoni. Just enough meat to make it very filling with 2 pieces of the 10" size. We went at an off time (3:30 on a Monday) so it wasn't loud or crowded. Pricing was amazing! For our 2 topping 10" deep dish, we paid less than $15. We also had 1 a Ceasar salad and 1 drink. With tip, it was under $30, with leftovers for 2 more meals. If you are craving deep dish pizza, make the extra drive to come to Mother Bears!

Mother Bears is one of our favorite local restaurants. Food is always excellent. Service is always great. Restaurant is always clean and welcoming. This location is always busy but worth any wait you have.

We really enjoyed our time at Mother Bear’s Pizza! Our server was great and the pizzas all tasted amazing! We ordered 3 different kinds and shared between the 3 of us. It was delicious and my favorite was the Buffalo chicken. We enjoyed some cheesy bread, too. It’s such a fun place where you can bring a sharpie and sign your table or seat or wall! How fun!

Yuuup! I'm back. Great food and excellent service. Stromboli - homemade blue cheese dressing was the bomb. Sandwich was the BEST ‼ Salad "croutons" are goldfish crackers. The dining room is really cool. There are wooden benches and seats and tables and you can use a selfie sharpie to sign your name or put a message. They are just literally thousands all over the place. The service was excellent and I will return.

The curbside process was broken today. Meh... There is a first for everything. : ( Food is always solid. The convenience factor (today) negates the yummy food this go around.

We order from Mother Bears a LOT - and I realized I've never written a review. This is my preferred pizza in Bloomington. They have really good speciality pizzas if you're looking for something different - and you just can't go wrong with a pan pizza. We personally love the specials they run, because they're great for a date night order in. I've eaten in at this restaurant a few times, but most often I order pick up. The staff is always friendly and my food is always ready on time or early! You can't beat the prices for the quality.

I'm sad we were in a rush when we went here so I couldn't enjoy it fully but I LOVED this pizza spot! There's a lot of seating and we didn't have to wait too long even though it's popular place. We had the mozzarella sticks and a pizza which were both so cheesy and delicious! Would definitely go again if I'm in the area!

This is our go to pizza place any time we stop into Bloomington to see family. We always get take out, but I would love to eat in sometime. It has a very cute ambiance, the staff is super friendly, and the breadsticks are top notch. The pizza is good if you like thicker pieces of pizza. I'd highly recommend trying it out if you are ever in Bloomington.

Mother Bear's is awesome pizza. The west side location is a little more open and spacious than campus. Same great flavor. DID YOU KNOW, that on your bday, Mother Bear's will give you a percentage discount equivalent to your age? I recently learned this before my son's bday, so we only got about $.86 off, but my husband and I plan on hitting them up on our big days from here on out for more sizable savings.

The food was great, the server fantastic, however they expect you to read the entire menu and look for the line that says 2 hr maximum. At 2 hrs and 10 minutes, when we were already gathering our things to leave, the shift manager felt it was necessary to tell us to leave, ruining a perfectly good evening. We were a large table and did not order pizza's, so our meal took a little longer than normal to get to us, but we did not complain as we knew that is often the way large tables are handled. Our food arrived hot and was delicious. I contacted the shift manager the next morning, and it was as if she could not understand my point that the entire conversation was absolutely unnecessary, insulting and rude. Much like the shift manager, she kept repeating, somewhat parrot like, "it's on the menu" that you need to leave. No one reads the entire menu, especially if you have been to that restaurant many, many times in the past, nor can we read the menu after the menus have left the table. It's a real bummer, but I don't see us ever stepping foot in this establishment again. I don't think Mother Bear's cares about customer satisfaction, as there have been other times, again due to no fault of our own that we have spent more than 2 hrs in a booth and NOT been asked to leave. I realize that out family will not make or break their business, but I see no reason to ever return and I really did try to resolve this without leaving this review.

If you're cruising through Bloomington Indiana and are craving really good pizza then you should definitely stop here. Pizza is great, breadsticks are delicious. I'm sure they get busy but we were there in the middle of the afternoon and got right in, but it was full. Next time I'll remember to bring my sharpie so I can write on the walls.

My husband went to school at IU, so he loves to stop by mother bears whenever we are passing through Bloomington. This location is an expansion on the original, and we really like it. It is spacious, has much more parking than the original building, and the food is just as good. My husband had the lunch special which consists of a slice of pizza and four breadsticks, and he enjoyed it a lot. The pizza style is not thin crust, it is hearty. The breadsticks are very well seasoned and salty. I had the ham and cheese sandwich, and it was very good. Sandwiches at pizza joints hinge on the bread, and this bread was crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and generally perfect. They don't have hellmans mayo, but the brand that they did have did the job. The cups with drinks are weirdly large, and I like that. This is a great option for local pizza in Bloomington, we will definitely be back many times.

Stopped by Mother Bears Pizza while heading home from Bloomington. We had their version of a Caesar salad and a regular crust pizza. The Caesar salad did not appear to have anchovy flavor, just oil and lemon flavors, which was still good. We had pepperoni, banana pepper, red onions, and green peppers on the pizza, This has to be one of the best pizzas I have had. Wish we had one near us. The thick pan pizza also looked good.

Always my go to when I'm in Bloomington!! Great relaxed atmosphere. Excellent pizza. The sauce has a little kick to it but is so incredibly tasty. We got a large pepperoni and sausage pizza, breadsticks (really great too with tons of flavor and great dipping sauce). And sodas to drink. We were there between 4 and 6 so we got a deal for all of the above. Service was great! Server was friendly and even though he was busy took great care of us and was always there when needed. Highly recommend!

In town visiting my son at IU for the weekend's football game. I had heard about Mother Bear's from others but I had never been there. Being plant based it's also interesting trying new places without some research. But they had a veggie storm sandwich and the server switched the mozzarella for vegan. It was really great. The rest of my crew had wings and pizza, also very good reviews from them. Nice, friendly place with great flavors and staff.

The pizza is always good here, and while I seriously appreciate the ability to eat outside on their nice patio, the corner we picked had a wasps nest and yellowjackets were going in and out between the boards of the booth seat backs. I'm confident this has been addressed by now. We were told by our waitress that she only made something over $2 an hour and she sure wasn't going to do anything about the wasps for that! I wasn't asking her to, but I thought it was a good idea to inform her, so she could let her manager know, and I got snapped at-not a nice experience for a birthday celebration. In their defense, it was an unexpectedly busy night because of a power outage, and we were getting a birthday discount for our meal, which is a really nice thing they do.

Good food and servers. Management sucks. Eight of us go there at least once a month. Was kicked out last night because we were there exactly two hours. Took them 55 minutes to get our food. As we walked out could see empty tables and maybe eight people waiting to be seated. Will never be back.

Have I not written a review for Mother Bear's? Shame on me!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mother Bear's! Why do I love them so? Is it the quick delivery? YES! It is the delicious pizza? YES! Is it the fact that they have amazing Chicago chunk sausage? YES! Is it how generous they are with their toppings? YES! Is it their amazing thin crust? YES! Is it that Big Bad Wolf sandwich? YES! We split our pizza orders between Mother Bear's and Pizza X. Each is wonderful in its own way. The Mother Bear's special we often get includes bread sticks and brownies. My favorite pizza currently is the white sauce with chicago chunk sausage. Their tomato sauce has a bit of kick to it, and so do some of their toppings. We live close by and deliveries are almost always much earlier than we're told. The food is always good. The variety is great. I have not tried their boneless wings, but I might have to. So far this place can do no wrong, and I'm here for it! This west side location has been nothing short of amazing!

Great pick up service. Pizza was hot, fresh and delicious! We hadn't been here in years, but we won't wait so long again

MB's does not disappoint! We got the early bird special-10 inch pizza, drinks and bread. We of course ordered our Cobb salad-it's a must when coming here! Tons of leftovers heading into the weekend. Don't forget your sharpie to sign the walls. Benches, anywhere you can find a spot.

I had researched the classic IU dining destinations for our road trip to Bloomington and Mother Bear's was high on every list. Campus was hopping during our homecoming weekend visit, so we ruled out the original campus location, but when we realized that this location was so close to our hotel, it was an easy decision. We pulled up and saw that the parking lot was packed, so we were concerned it was going to be a long wait. We were pleasantly surprised when they told us it would only be 10 minutes and they sat us even quicker than that. Our server, Braden was very friendly and accommodating and super responsive, even though the place was packed. The menu had a lot of great choices, but we landed on the toasted ravioli, a Caesar salad and the Monet pizza...we loved it all! I totally understand why this place is the icon that it is!

This is an excellent pizza establishment that we visited while we were in the area. My family went in here on a Saturday evening and did not have a long wait at all. I though the place looked really cool with the cabin look that it has. IT felt like i was walking into outdoor man or something. It was awesome. We got a couple pizzas for our family and we really enjoyed. I really like the pepperoni pizza that my wife and I had. My daughters got the cheese and they both approved as well. Excellent place overall that I highly recommend. Food- 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Price 4/5 Service 4/5

SOOOO GOOD!! The place was packed and we were seated promptly. The salads didn't look so hot (just basic not bad) so we opted for just the pizza and some teriyaki wings. The pizza was delicious as were the wings. We will be back!! Great service as well!!! Definitely lives up to all of the 5 star reviews. I will note I saw a thin crust pizza delivered to a table near by and it looked good too I might try that one next time.

Terribly overpriced for subpar pizza. I think people like this place because it's a "local staple" for college kids. The service is always slow because they're packed every day.

Since the campus location was closed during the winter break we ordered take out from the west location about a 15 minute drive to campus. Order app was super easy to use to order or modify the pie. We got the early bird special which was a deep dish, sticks, and a 2 L. Perfect order process, and the app gave the timing super accurately as to when we needed to arrive. Lots of parking spots for pick up orders and the delivery person came right out with the food. All was hot fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the deep dish and the early bird special!!!

My fiancée and I were looking forward to a relaxing day by the pool, ending with pizza from Mama Bears. However, the pizza we received was a disappointment. It was so badly damaged that half was inedible. Given their great reviews, we expected much better. Sadly, our experience didn't match the hype.

This was my first time at Mother Bear's and it had a lot of hype to live up to. The restaurant has an inviting log cabin vibe with a bar in the middle and 10-12ish beers on tap. You're reminded that you're in a college town by the sharpie signatures and doodles covering the walls. But other than that, the restsurant seemed clean. The breadsticks were different from any breadstick I've had. The consistency was similar to a hotdog bun. Odd but they were okay.  As for the pizza, I LOVE a good red sauce -- the more the better. I ordered the Veggie Delight and it didn't disappoint. They loaded it with toppings and cheese, the crust was crispy and the sauce had a great flavor -- I could have used a bit more, so next time I'll ask for extra. We also ordered the Spinoccoli, which has a garlic sauce base - also delicious.  Overall, Mother Bear's lived up to the hype and I'd definitely come back next time I'm around.

They were awesome that they had a lot on their menu from pizza to pasta salad. My server was really nice they brought out my drink on time. Plus my favorite part is that everything was clean they have alcohol on menu, but I did not try. They had a lot of people there because it was little 500 which wax a good time

We ordered the pepperoni pizza and the Dixie Two Step. The pepperoni lacked as described PEPPERONI. 1out of 5 The two step is a great option and is a 5 out of 5 The drinks here are massive so if your thirst is great your in a good place.

I really wanted to like this place more, but just couldn't. It seemed like a fun family friendly restaurant, which it kind of was . The restaurant has tons of parking available and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is huge with tons of indoor seating available. They also have outdoor patio seating. The menu is packed with various food selections, but they are best known for their pizza. And wait there's more. They serve alcohol, beer and wine. I guess their thing is allowing people to write on the walls and furniture. I however, am not a fan. It is kind of dirty looking to me and not something I want to see while I am eating. The bathroom also needed some attention. It was pretty dirty and one soap dispenser was empty and the other one had come off the wall. It was very sad. I ordered the spaghetti for the littles and a Longhorn pizza. The spaghetti was not drained well at all. I got about a half a bowl of water out between the two bowls of spaghetti. There is a pic of the water I drained in my photos. We also got some of the cheesy bread sticks as an appetizer. They were the star of the meal. They were delicious. They never had a chance. I would definitely recommend getting them. The pizza was good. I have had better and I have had worse. In other words, I would eat it again if I had to, but probably would not make a special trip. For me, this place is ok. I did not see what the hype was all about at all.

I honestly don't know what I like best here. Service is 11/10. Every time. Friendly, fun, happy people work here. Deeeeeep dish. But also. Spinoccoli ? Yes and yes. But here's the sneak attack- the wings. Big, juicy wings. (drool)I love the sauce options at Buffalouies...but the actual wings here may be superior. And I'm still shocked. Also. Beer selection is stellar. Great for date night or families. It's a place where everyone gets along over carbs.

No parking near the campus so we drove to Mother's West. Service top shelf. Yummy breadsticks--kind of a garlicky flavor. Great pizza! Fun graffiti.

Consistently good pizza! A Bloomington institution. Consider the IU game schedule (especially football, basketball, and state HS tournaments) if you're thinking of an outing, especially with a large group.

Awesome breadsticks and sauce. The Chicken Parmesan was fantastic! The pasta was cooked to perfection. Also had the Malibu Modern pizza. Definitely will order it again! Alyssa our server was fantastic!

When in Bloomington...you stop for Mother Bear's for lunch. Unfortunately, we couldn't stop at the OG location closer to campus, but this location is right off of the highway. It is a little hard to get to, as you have to drive through various strip mall parking lots. But, I'm told parking can be hard at the original location, so maybe opt for this West location if you're in a hurry! The pizza is phenomenal. I loved the Monte Cristo - great crust and toppings. Simply amazing and absolutely worth the hype. This location is very spacious, and we had no wait on a busy weekday lunch hour. Our waitress was friendly and understood we had a business meeting to get to later in the afternoon. She didn't rush us but paced the meal well. It doesn't have the same charm as the original location, but they try with the decor elements.

Still my favorite spot for Pizza in bloomimgton. The cozmo is out of this world and my son loves the gluten free pizza

Was seated right away ! Our waiter Cole was very pleasant and enjoyed my husband's dry humor! Our pizza was delicious and we will definitely be back on our next trip to Bloomington! Loved all the stained glass hanging ! Great family restaurant and wonderful location !

This is hands down my favorite pizza in the state. And quite frankly, outside of Chicago, my favorite pizza this side of the Mississippi. We had wanted to try the Margherita pizza but they were out of the fresh mozzarella. So we said shredded was fine, then they came back and said they were out of fresh basil. In addition, our server knew the beer companies on draught but had no idea what type of beer each tap held (lager, IPA, stout, etc) That is when my original 5 star rating dropped to 4. But please know that the pizza was fabulous! We did the early bird special which you get free breadsticks and soft drinks with any 10" or 14" pizza between the hours of 4-6 pm. Great deal for families!

We love Mother Bear's Pizza. The west location is a convenient stop off I-69. The salads are generously sized and delicious. Something about the goldfish crackers on top make a tasty bite. The pizza is always delicious, and I like that you can get a 6" individual pizza. My only complaint? It's always cold in the restaurant and they don't sell long-sleeve t-shirts or sweatshirts, which I would definitely buy.

While on a weekend visit to Bloomington, we asked a local resident where the best place to get pizza was. Without hesitation she recommended Mother Bears Pizza. She provided us a little background and decided we would hit up the West location. It was around 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was fairly full. There wasn't a wait upon our arrival but the place was packed by the time we left. The pizza and service were both top notch! We were impressed at how attentive the wait staff was to their tables while being so busy. We ordered the cheese bread, the Deluxe , and a Malibu Modern pizzas. Both were delicious. The crust was perfect. Chewy, yet a little crispy. We left very satisfied! However, the pizza isn't what compelled me to leave a review. The next day on our trek back to Iowa, I realized I left my Fanny pack behind at the restaurant. Needless to say panic suck in. It was a Sunday and I called the restaurant as soon as they opened. The woman who answered was very sweet and verified they did have it. I let her know that I wouldn't be able to come pick it up and wanted to see if I could pay them to ship it to Iowa. She recommended I call back Monday morning and speak to her General Manager. My husband called Monday morning and spoke with Steve and made him aware of what had happened and asked if we sent him a shipping label if he would mind sending it back our way. Without hesitation, he said it wasn't a problem and he would get it out later that afternoon. He also declined our offer to pay the shipping fee. My Fanny pack and all of the belongings within arrived on my door step this afternoon. I want to give a great big shout out to Steve at Mother Bears West. Thank you for going above and beyond!

We stopped on our way home from Riley children's hospital. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. We started off with an order of breadsticks ( with garlic butter and spicy cheese sauce) they were really good. We each got a different pizza. My daughter got a 6 inch margarita pizza, my husband got the 6 inch the monet and I got the 6 inch lunch special with just cheese. Everything was very good and our waiter was very good and made sure we had refills at all times.

My daughter and I had a great dinner. Kimber was our server, she was great! We got the mothers special, a 10" (upgraded to a large for$5) one topping, 2 salads or breadsticks, and 2 drinks for $19. I added a house salad with DELICIOUS house made ranch. We also ordered a meatball sub and upgraded to fries for $2. The fries were crispy and delicious. The sub was meh... the meatballs were not very flavorful and the sauce was just ok. The pepperoni are spicy, just a FYI. We would eat here again!

Known for a good pizza and classic crusts Mother's Bears Pizza delivers the goods. Easy take out counter experience. 15 minutes and she was ready. Masks a must when entering of course. Whenever I am in Bloomington I stop by mother bears west (or the college town location). Delicious classic pizzas with gourmet options as well. It's a btown staple. Love the goldfish in the salad. Btw, I'm not into bears, but if I was, momma b is smoking ;)
