Mother Cluckers Chicken

My first time here. I ordered a 3 piece whole wings with honey biscuit and a side of broccoli salad to go. The grease smelled a little funny to me at first, but the taste was good. Later i saw a review say it was beef tallow??? Kinda pricey, but worth a try. Chicken was well seasoned and so juicy and tender inside, fried perfectly. Biscuit was good, but I like Popeyes better. Broccoli salad was delicious and cut in nice bite size pieces. It is definitely a good to go again place, but I probably won't because its too far away. Miguel my order taker was great. I was surprised they served drinks. I asked another customer what they thought about the chicken and he said it was good and he was a regular. You can bank on the quality of the food you get there. I'd give them a 4.5, but I don't see where I can add a 1/2.

My husband and I drove 45 mins because we heard of this place and I can honestly say we'll be back. It is absolutely delicious and well worth the time and money spent. This picture just shows what I got. My husband had the catfish, dirty rice, chicken, and breaded mushrooms.

Miguel was my server! Very welcoming. He made me a drink while I waited. Chicken was fresh! Would def be back and I own Sunset Chicken so that’s says a lot!

I pass by Mother Cluckers all the time and finally decided to stop in after a coworker mentioned it and I saw a few videos on Instagram. I ordered the 3 tender meal with dirty rice, and wow, it did not disappoint! Angel at the counter was super friendly and helpful. He let us know everything is made to order, so it might take a few extra minutes, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The chicken tenders were huge, juicy, and full of flavor with the perfect crispy breading. The dirty rice was delicious, and that biscuit with honey butter was unreal! I could have eaten ten more. Overall, this place is a total gem. There’s so much more on the menu I need to try so I will definitely be back!

My order was ready pretty much when I expected it— I only had to wait about 10 extra minutes, but I totally understood since it was a super busy Sunday because of the Super Bowl and everyone wanted their chicken ready. The best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I wish we lived closer….it was my husband and I’s third time here and we are coming from Milwaukee area. It’s so juicy, flavorful and fresh!!! The biscuits are amazing as well as the breaded mushrooms. Everything we have tried is delicious! They are very friendly as well. Always making sure we are satisfied and have we need. The best!!!

The absolute best chicken tenders I've ever had. I wanted fried chicken, but they helpfully explained that it takes longer and we had a tired toddler. I appreciated the honesty. If you go, get the corn fritters! So good and work honey and a little Crystal *chef's kiss*

I heard about Mother Cluckers from a friend; drove 40 mins and it was definitely worth it. Their spicy fried chicken cooked in beef tallow was juicy. Their garlic mashed potatoes were creamy, and their mushrooms was big with lots of flavor. Bought extra to bring back for my family. Definitely a must try; will be returning soon

My friend and I went to Mother Cluckers today to try it since we were heading to the mall and didn't want the usual mall food. It was one of the best choices I've made this month! I got: 2 pc chicken: 10/10 nice and fresh! We waited about 20 minutes since they make it fresh to order. It was nice and juicy and really crispy. The biscuit is life changing! It was perfectly sweet and crisp! Cole slaw: really good! Not overly sweet and great texture. Onion rings: great portion and really yummy!! We got our order for dine in. There were a few slot machines around and a small bar. The people working there are very nice and checked up on us periodically to make sure the food was good. I would for sure recommend trying them out!

Stopped in for a bite while on the road. Not an impressive location, in a mini-mall attached to a gas station, but clean and pleasant inside, a few tables so you don't have to eat in your car. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delish. Crispy fried chicken, savory honey biscuits, decent sides. Took a few minutes, but everything came out fresh and hot, so no complaints from me. Seems a little out of the way, if you're not already on hwy. 41, but worth stopping by!

Chicken fingers rocked! The same as I remembered at the old Buffalo Grove Golf Course who were known for their 'world famous' chicken fingers!

Updating based on an interaction I just had with the business: Received a call at 11:58pm regarding the review I posted 6 hours ago, claiming I "just posted it," accusing me of lying (as you can see by his response that I attempted to "take advantage" of his business.) even in the email I received with his "response" it states it is for the review I posted 6 hours ago. I answered the phone at midnight because my husband works nights and I thought he may have been in an accident. When the owner introduced himself, my shocked answer was to ask why he was calling at MIDNIGHT. My review was written at 6pm. The owner asked me what the problem was with the food and why I didn't go to them directly. Well, I paid Grubhub, so I contacted Grubhub because there was a problem with the food. That's how it works. I explained in detail to a Grubhub customer care associate the issues, and they issued what they deemed fair. It was not a chargeback on the entire order, as can be shown by the receipts. The bottom line is the food was inedible. I got a partial refund through the third party service I ordered with and paid, which the owner said he disputed, and he called me a liar, and dropped an F bomb on me (which I will admit I reciprocated after he swore at me first.) The whole interaction was completely inappropriate and horrendous. I said "you're calling me at midnight? I've been in bed for hours." His response? "You don't sound like you've been in bed for hours." I am a fair yelper with a long history of providing honest reviews. This establishment will never be receiving my business again. Original review: Sadly, Mother Cluckers was a miss for us. I ordered for delivery through Grubhub, and it was delivered on time, and the food was hot. Unfortunately that's where the food ends. We ordered spicy chicken, but the only "spice" notable was salt, and a lot of it. The biscuits were dense and seemed undercooked, the livers were also undercooked (really sad as I've been looking for a place to replace browns,) the corn on the cob was inedible, the breading on the mushrooms was doughy, and the corn fritters were like eating sand. Bummer this one missed the mark.

Service was great! Good interactions with staff. We ordered an order of dark, wings, catfish and mushrooms. Unfortunately the chicken was extremely salty. We tried to cut the salt with honey, but that didn't help. I think it was the batter was over salted. The thigh was extremely fatty as if the chicken had not been cleaned; thick layer of fat under skin. Catfish had a bad taste, extremely fishy with a taste that's really hard to describe. Could've been close to going bad (unfortunately). We were so sad for this experience. I hope it's better for others. FYI, you can only turn right when exiting gas stations parking lot and you have to drive down to Wadsworth to make a u-turn.

I think it was ok. Nothing spectacular. My chicken was way overcooked, charred a bit.

Good chicken, good biscuits, and the mash potatoes are homemade. We waited about 15 mins because it was made to order. It was definitely worth it. My only wish is they had different hot sauce other than Cholula or Valentina. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Great everything! We had spicy and regular chicken tenders, a spicy chicken sandwich, biscuits (the best!), fritters, fries, mashed potatoes and onion rings. Everything was delicious and hot! Highly recommend

Everyone was very nice. The chicken sandwich was excellent! Moist, excellent flavor, fresh bun... Would definitely order again. The onion rings were good. Would I order again? Not sure. The woman working at the counter brought us some of the battered mushrooms to try. Very good, definitely would order again.

First off, we have been looking for good fried chicken for a while, we moved to the area a little over a year ago. By chance went on valentines day at 430 . Not crowded. The service was very good, helped us decide what to get. Was attentive through out. We got a 3 piece, a 2 piece dark and fries and rings. Chicken may be the benchmark we were looking for. Apparently fried in beef tallow, super crunchy and juicy. Added bonus, they have had mixed cocktails. We had repasado margarittas that were "real" no mix and as good as anywhere. It's kind of a weird location in a shell station strip mall. We drove past it the first time. It's only a week later and I'm dreaming of going back. Excellent food and drinks.

Clean facility. Friendly staff. Excellent food. First time, visiting restaurant. Saw it on Tik Tok. Nice clean bar. My husband wants to return just for the drink! I will definitely visit again. The dirty rice is a must have. Along with the honey biscuit. Nice crispy chicken. And OH MY GOD..... that BBQ sauce. I didn't get a picture. We ate it too fast!!!

The chicken was clucking good. The sides were good too. Grab some napkins! The corn on the cob is nice and buttery. We had the fried chicken and the chicken strips.

Great fried chicken made to order! Which I love. It makes a giant difference. Takes about 20 minutes but you can just order ahead. However their side dishes are kind of pricey so I only get the chicken. But they have great chicken. Yes it's a pain in the neck to only be able to turn right out of the parking lot. But don't let that discourage you really nice guy that works behind the counter. Really really good chicken

food was amazing. The chicken sandwich I had was good and if you had some homemade ranch and some barbecue sauce on there, it really smacked with the spicy mayo on there also my mom had their fried traditional wings and she said those were great. My dad had the gizzards and he said the gizzards were pretty good. The corn fritters were pretty good too. The service was good. They us nicely and the place low-key. They had a casino in ambience of the place was pretty nice. I definitely recommend other people go there.

Love this chicken. Soooo crispy and flavorful. Corn fritters are to die for. Onion rings are with real onions. Can say enough good things.

Saw this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. Food was excellent! Had the catfish filet which is hard to do well in my experience, and they nailed it. I even had extra and it was great in the air fryer the next day. Onion rings were really good too. Tried some of my buddies chicken strips and they were excellent. Their biscuits though, holy next level. Literally might be my favorite ever. Definitely stop in if you can! I would say if this place had a down side it would be it's a very small dining room. You really couldn't get a large group in here, so dine out if you need that space. Hopefully they blow up enough to get some more room.

So this is the first time we've been to Mother Clucker's Chicken after having passed it for a while now. Let me say that I wish I had stoppped in a LOT earlier! They make this food fresh for you - straight up. You have to give them a little time, but what you get in return for that wait is some of the best fried chicken and sides you can ask for. The chicken? Crispy exterior houses an incredibly juicy interior that is just a party in your mouth. The biscuits? Fluffy, sweet, savory - a flavor bomb that is just amazing. We also had a side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw and let me say that the potatoes tasted like something you'd get at home (assuming someone is making amazing potatoes) and the coleslaw was creamy, dreamy and crunchy. Just delicious. My son had the spicy chicken sandwich and he said it was amazing, too! I'm serious - if you want some really, REALLY good fried chicken and sides, you need to run (NOT WALK) to Mother Clucker's, because DAMN - this is some bomb food and you will NOT regret it.

If you want fast fried chicken then drive by Mother Cluckers Chicken and drive on down to KFC, Browns or Popeyes. But if you want the best fried chicken you will ever find anywhere then pull into Mother Cluckers Chicken. Located in the small strip mall attached to the Shell gas station on US Rt 41 at Sterns School Rd. Each order in fried for you so expect to wait about 15 minutes, but the wait is so worth it. The chicken is crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The flavor beyond wonderful. I have purchased chicken and then taken to a local park for a picnic and it is still crispy, not soggy like chicken from other shops. And don't forget their sides. The fries are crisp and tender and the dirty rice has just the right amount of zip. Oh one more thing. Be sure to ask for some of their in-house made barbecue sauce. Sweet with a kick you will love. The service is very friendly and personal. They treat you like a valued customer not just another ororder to be filled and out the door.

The chicken was salty. The dirty rice was good. Service was great tho. Gas station restaurant so it looks like it looks. I wouldn't go out of my way.

We stopped by to get some gas and grab a bite. The chicken was made fresh and really blew us away. The corn fritters were also fantastic and the lady working at the counter and kitchen was very nice.

Amazing chicken! Order ahead since they make it when you order and the Chicken is freshly made. The dirty rice side dish has a nice little kick to it. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu.

We saw an ad for them on social media and decided to give them a try. Inside is bright and welcoming. We did not try any drinks at the bar but seems like a quiet spot to stop in for one. We ordered ahead about 15 minutes and it was ready when we arrived. The chicken was juicy with a lot of flavor and the breading was great because it was not caked on super thick but was still crunchy. My son said it's his favorite fried chicken in the area. We will be back again soon.
