We were looking for a place to watch football, and we certainly found one! Mother Hubbard's had enough TVs that every game was being shown on at least two TVs each. The crowd was all football fans, so the place was lively with everyone cheering and jeering the TVs and their games/teams of interest. We got a great spot at a table to watch our game plus keep tabs on some of the others. We were well attended to by 4 different servers and I had a new drink sitting in front of me before I had even finished the one I was drinking. The reason for the 3-star despite the great crowd vibe and service was because they chose one game to be heard in the entire bar, and the volume was SO LOUD! Especially when the broadcast went to commercial breaks - the commercials were deafening. At one point I asked about the volume and my server responded, "So you want me turn it up?" Which I thought was a cute response, but I also figured the only reason she had such a cute and witty response that quickly teed up was because I wasn't the first patron to ask about the volume. I suggested she "try turning it down and wait and see if someone asks you to turn it up." Although she told me it wasn't possible, I do think the volume went down the tiniest bit after that, or maybe I had just lost some hearing at that point. The other reason for the lower rating was the tots. Granted, it's the only food we ordered, so maybe other dishes are delicious, but the "cheese" on the tots was like salt-flavored cheese colored goo. The buffalo sauce however was so powerful that the lack of cheese-tasting cheese sauce was almost unnoticeable. All in all, it was raining and we were desperate to find a spot close to our hotel where we could have some drinks and comfortably watch an entire football game, and despite the decibels, Mother Hubbard's delivered.
