888 Korean BBQ is on my top 3 Korean BBQ places!!
My general concern after a few not so great experiences is that at times the flavors and meat quality doesn't always ended up being the best and no one wants to end up with subpar flavors. This could be user mistake or based on the great experiences I've had I do think it has to go a lot with the quality of ingredients and meats! 888 Korean BBQ surpassed all of our expectations!
It was on our must go to list after a glowing review from my sister's coworker. We got on the waitlist and waited about an 1.5 hrs before our table got called. There's a lot to see around there so you can walk to other shops while you wait and they'll text you when your table is ready.
We got seated and our waiter explained the process. You pick from three different menu options. If you're going with others, just make sure you're all in agreement about the menu choice (A (Angus): $27, B(Prime):$33, C(Kobe):$44)). If one person picks menu B, everybody in that group has to go with option B because food is served family style. Individually everyone pays the $33 for their food course. This has to do with the quality of the meats as well as the different food items available in each menu. Our waiter also informed us that you have 90 minutes to finish everything you ordered. There is a surcharge for anything that isn't consumed within that time.
We ordered the following:
Mini Handrolls - Snow Krab, Salmon**, Spicy Tuna**, Shrimp
Appetizer: Chicken Karage**, Fried Dumplings Salmon Poke*** , Crème cheese wonton
BBQ:
LA Kalbi** , Fillet Mignon**, Beef Bulgogi**, Beef brisket**, Garlic shrimp**, Korean chicken**
Not in picture : Side of Salt* , Siracha
Kimchi**, bean sprouts, greens with ginger dressing,
Sushi Ginger**, White Rice, Sesame seed* oil, Chili paste*, Spicy Miso Ramen**.
Everything with an asterisk is a must have! My favorites were the Salmon Poke I had two bowls! The Beef Bulgogi, fillet Mignon, everyone loved the Miso ramen, and Spicy Tuna! When you're ordering you order by the piece so if we wanted one serving of an item for each person we had to say 6, when a person wanted something individually you ask for one serving. Also although the rice is good I'd say skip the rice and fill up on more proteins!! After going over what we got I realized that there is still a ton we didn't get to try! I'd also suggest asking for a side of salt so you can season the meat to your liking as well as having the additional sauces for dipping. It's also a must to have some sushi ginger!
We completed off our meal with some S'mores and finished everything!!!
Our waiter was great and the place is clean and you can see how fast they are working to make sure everyone has what they need! Can't wait to go back to LV to taste the things we missed!
