Yelp
This place is great in so many ways - food, craft cocktails, amazing servers - and you should definitely go and enjoy it. Go for date night, with the kids, with a group for trivia night, or just relax at the bar alone - all good times. And we happily bring vegan friends and have lots of choices!
I always know a place will be good when it has a tight, focused menu, not all over the place, and has seasonal specials.
We love the falafel, which is so crispy and comes on a generous mound of feta dip. Nice change from the usual tahini.
Also the snap pea salad with grilled halloumi cheese. So tasty, and halloumi is a good complement. (The Caesar salad was slightly disappointing. The leaves were too chopped, and I was looking for longer, crispier romaine.)
The tagliatelle pasta was outstanding, with nice fresh pasta and tossed with delicious veggies.
The burger was delicious and the fried potato of the day are some of my favorites anywhere.
My friends also like the pretzel bites - nice and pillowy, with cheese dip, and the mac and cheese balls and the pork dumplings.
And the crab dip!!!! Piping hot, cheesy. Yummy and decadent.
Finally, the chicken tendies are grown up comfort food. They are huge! So crispy and really great dipped. And great as leftovers.
Also tried a few desserts that were yummy - the crème brûlée with peanut butter cookie was the perfect bday treat.
They also have great specials.
The only "constructive criticism" I have is about the decor, and the overuse of gluten free preparations.
I know they opened in a hurry after a long delay, so I was hoping the cafeteria-like furniture would be temporary. It does feel like a work cafe when you first walk in. Also, there's a low counter at the entrance that just seems unfinished ? It seems to suck up space and not add anything- I wonder if that could be a bar or communal table?
I also think some of the gluten-free preparations could also have a gluten-full counterpart. I'm biased, because I have a friend with celiac disease who can't eat gluten, and she laughs that people voluntarily "go gluten free", as it just isn't as tasty. I get it, and know gluten free is a popular "thing" and some people feel better not eating it, but I think the fried pickles, for example, would be so much better if there was an additional offering WITH traditional breading. Nothing like gluten + grease! And then sure, have gluten free stuff, but having it as the default detracts from the deliciousness.
I think the best thing about it is the amazing people who work there. They are so professional and friendly and caring. It really feels like a welcoming neighborhood place (admittedly, in the oddest, office-parky neighborhood around.)
Plus, it's easy to get to, right off the T or bike path and parking is not a hassle.
See you there! Just don't take my favorite seat :)
