We went for their gluten free night, which is awesome to be able to order anything on the menu! We tried the mac & cheese bites, the arancini bites, steak frites, pork chop, and chocolate crème brûlée. Both types of bites were plated the same way and looked identical, so it was difficult to know which was which, but both were very tasty. The steak and pork chop weren’t my favorite flavor wise. The crème brûlée was really good though. Staff were very friendly.

Update: visited again for dinner. The $29 steak was disappointing. Hard to chew, and undercooked. I can conclude now based on both of my visits that whoever is cooking the meats is not doing a good job. Happy to have this restaurant next door! I enjoyed the atmosphere. I like the concept! Food: Falafel bites are a must try 8/10! Unfortunately, the roast chicken was not good at all 3/10. The lava cake is delicious! I would come back here anytime for it! So good. Service: staff are courteous and service was overall OK. I do wish the host had looked at my seating preference when she pulled up my reservation. I avoid high chairs because of leg issues, so it would’ve been nice to have been offered a regular table at the dining area. Overall, I recommend and will return and try another main!

Google
Ok food, good service. The bad part: added a 5% "kitchen appreciation fee", rather than simply raising their menu prices to appropriately cover costs - this feels less-than-honest.

Chef Nookie delivers! Every ingredient, every cooking method, every pairing... It just works. Falafel was hot and crunchy; hash brown was delicate and crispy.

Food was fine, if overpriced. On top of being overpriced, they added a “kitchen appreciation fee” instead of just paying their staff from the cost of the meal, which means I can’t give them more than two stars.

Google
Mothership is a must-visit! Their gluten-free options are amazing—full of flavor and thoughtfully prepared. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. If you’re looking for delicious food and great service, this is the place to go!

We had a great time! The mac and cheese was great and we looovved the taquitos.

Google
Everything about this place is great, I felt so comfortable here and they were very accommodating to our toddler. Location, atmosphere, service gets an A+. The food came out really hot and fresh. It was really good however I have to say they were a bit too generous with the salt. It was overwhelming on most of what we ordered (chicken tenders, fries, crab dip). The fried ravioli was good, not overly salty but we felt like the serving size was too small for the price. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
What they save you in gluten they make up for with salt. My kids asked me why their lips were burny on the way home.... $200 for 100% meh

Yelp
Super over priced restaurant with subpar food options. The vegetarian pasta costs $29! Got ok burger and chicken was just mediocre. Calamari was... probably microwaved. The service was super slow and the waiter seemed like his mind was on somewhere else. (Questionable 5% kitchen appreciation tip was also added to bill) Their drinks are fine and desserts are okay, but I'd never come back here for meals.

Yelp
Finding actual GF spots in Boston is hard ... People always mention the same 3 places and other restaurant options aren't very ideal or good. Mothership is a spot for you to check out loaded with options located right next to Alewife station. I would recommend just going the route of sharing plates here as it is a bit pricey but is kinda to be expected. Everything was pretty good and the chicken tendies definitely filled me up. My server was such a sweetheart and very helpful letting me know what kind of teas they had. The restaurant has a very laid back feel with some nostalgic music playing in the background. There was a shuffleboard-like table where some kids were playing, laughing and having some fun. We finished the night with a salted caramel creme brulee which was so delicious along with a big cup of tea. Yelp
The mothership has landed! My friends and I have been waiting for this place to open and it finally did! The restaurant is super cute with modern decor and plenty of seating. They have beers on tap and specialty delicious cocktails! They have a variety of appetizers, sides and entrees to choose from. We ordered their burgers, ravioli and chicken tenders. Everything looked amazing! The chicken tenders were nice and juicy on the inside and super crunchy on the outside, just how I like them. The mac and cheese balls were loaded with tons of cheese which was very creamy and rich. I was surprised by the dumplings because when I bit into one there were lots of juices flowing. I thought they were filled with a solid filling. My friends enjoyed their burgers and the ravioli also looked very good. We also really enjoyed the playlist which made us stick around for more drinks. We had a great time hanging out for a few hours. Finally! We have a nice spot to hangout after work hours!

Yelp
Great ambience and service. The cappuccino was very satisfying- rich and creamy. The calamari was good too. Shame that the tenders were a little dry. Would come again to try different dishes.

Yelp
Located next to Revival with the same ownership, Mothership is a casual upbeat neighborhood restaurant and bar serving dinner, drinks, draft beer (10 taps), and cocktails. The place offers ample table seating, high tops along the window, and seating up at the long bar. I stopped by the Mothership for a late dinner after shopping. It took a while for me to find an open parking spot on the street in front of Mothership. The staff said the parking garage across the street is free for patrons in addition to apartment residents.  The hostess gave me food & drink menus and I headed to the bar and took a seat. The bar has 2 TVs, but no sound. There was 1980s music blasting over the speakers. The food offerings Indicate that this is a scratch kitchen, everything prepared to order. They offer a selection of shareables,  salads, main entrees (chicken, steak, salmon, pasta, vegetarian), and desserts. The pricing is moderate here, entrees $19-$27 range. For a starter, the Fried Pork Dumplings ($13 plus tax) were served very hot, 5 deep fried pork dumplings served with a soy chili dipping sauce. The dumplings wrap was thick and oily and very similar to an empanada fried shell and a good amount of ground pork balls in each.  For an entree, the Pappardelle ($24 plus tax) was a vegetarian style pasta dish with wide Pappardelle noodles tossed with shaved brussel sprouts, butternut squash, crunchy garlic, roasted mushrooms, parmesan and oil. This dish had an interesting mix of ingredients, a nice change from my usual bolognese sauce and short rib, which is what I get with Pappardelle.  I did request a box for most of the pasta since I filled up on the fried dumplings and had a huge dessert a couple hours before in Boston. The check was $41.57 with tax & 5% hospitality fee and before server tip.  Overall, this was a very good find for freshly prepared food close to the Alewife T station. The service was very attentive with the bartender keeping my water glass full and kitchen staff delivering my starter and entree. I would definitely stop in again for dinner, especially after a long day.

Yelp
Limited menu but great food. Modern, spacious atmosphere. Parking was difficult on the street but there was a free parking structure not too far Mothership. Staff was nice, knowledgeable and attentive. I really didn't appreciate the automatically added 5% kitchen staff fee however. Seems like a very slimy way to run a business

Yelp
I live next door and finally saw that Mothership was open after more than 3 years. I stopped by for dinner with friends and had a nice time. The ambiance is nice and quiet, so it was great so socializing without yelling over other guests. The service was a little slow, but not unbearable. The food on the other-hand was alright. My friends enjoyed the pasta and burger, but my salad was very sad. I got chicken for some protein, but it was under-seasoned. It was a little dry and so bland I couldn't finish it. I took it home with the remaining salad to re-season it for another meal. For the taste and quantity, the food was on the more expensive side. We didn't try anything from the small bites menu, but I do remember seeing some expensive chicken tenders (2 tenders for like $10!). Since I'm next door, I'll give it another try after a few months!

Yelp
This place is great in so many ways - food, craft cocktails, amazing servers - and you should definitely go and enjoy it. Go for date night, with the kids, with a group for trivia night, or just relax at the bar alone - all good times. And we happily bring vegan friends and have lots of choices! I always know a place will be good when it has a tight, focused menu, not all over the place, and has seasonal specials. We love the falafel, which is so crispy and comes on a generous mound of feta dip. Nice change from the usual tahini. Also the snap pea salad with grilled halloumi cheese. So tasty, and halloumi is a good complement. (The Caesar salad was slightly disappointing. The leaves were too chopped, and I was looking for longer, crispier romaine.) The tagliatelle pasta was outstanding, with nice fresh pasta and tossed with delicious veggies. The burger was delicious and the fried potato of the day are some of my favorites anywhere. My friends also like the pretzel bites - nice and pillowy, with cheese dip, and the mac and cheese balls and the pork dumplings. And the crab dip!!!! Piping hot, cheesy. Yummy and decadent. Finally, the chicken tendies are grown up comfort food. They are huge! So crispy and really great dipped. And great as leftovers. Also tried a few desserts that were yummy - the crème brûlée with peanut butter cookie was the perfect bday treat. They also have great specials. The only "constructive criticism" I have is about the decor, and the overuse of gluten free preparations. I know they opened in a hurry after a long delay, so I was hoping the cafeteria-like furniture would be temporary. It does feel like a work cafe when you first walk in. Also, there's a low counter at the entrance that just seems unfinished ? It seems to suck up space and not add anything- I wonder if that could be a bar or communal table? I also think some of the gluten-free preparations could also have a gluten-full counterpart. I'm biased, because I have a friend with celiac disease who can't eat gluten, and she laughs that people voluntarily "go gluten free", as it just isn't as tasty. I get it, and know gluten free is a popular "thing" and some people feel better not eating it, but I think the fried pickles, for example, would be so much better if there was an additional offering WITH traditional breading. Nothing like gluten + grease! And then sure, have gluten free stuff, but having it as the default detracts from the deliciousness. I think the best thing about it is the amazing people who work there. They are so professional and friendly and caring. It really feels like a welcoming neighborhood place (admittedly, in the oddest, office-parky neighborhood around.) Plus, it's easy to get to, right off the T or bike path and parking is not a hassle. See you there! Just don't take my favorite seat :)

Yelp
My party was seated outside, so I didn't get to see the interior, but the service was wonderful and the food was also very yummy! I enjoyed the pickle chips and burger, would definitely come again.

Yelp
I have made it to Mothership twice now. The first time, Wilderd (or Will) the bartender at Mothership was so warm and welcoming. Will made us feel comfortable via great conversation. We had appetizers. I ordered the special cucumber margarita and it was delicious, stiff, and well needed on a Friday night. Also had the pork Taquitos delicious! And the Shaved Brussels Sprouts salad very good. The Chicken Tendies were super moist! The second time I came, I requested the same drink I had the first time but it wasn't on the specials. Will remembered me from the first time and made the same drink! Super nice. They're working on their outdoor seating and someone said we could even see a fireplace. I would definitely check it out if you're near the area!

Yelp
Delicious and varied choices, fun appetizers and entrees. Loved the espresso cocktail.

Yelp
We sat on the outside patio with our dogs and it was awesome. The food was delicious and the service was really friendly. I got a chicken sandwich and my husband got a smashed burger both came with curly fries. I can't remember the name of my drink, but they have really unique cocktails which I love. Highly recommend!

Christie C.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance were great! Parking was easy and the food was delicious. Ordered the pumpkin fettuccine and wow! Delish! My husband had the roasted chicken and enjoyed that as well. Just visiting but would definitely come back if we're in the area again.

Judy R.

Yelp
Great ambiance - very relaxed but feels nice & clean. Definitely a cool place to take friends or coworkers. food was fresh and yummy! Service was great! No complaints- found a new regular.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant because they market themselves as allergen friendly. I came with a friend who has a gluten and peanut allergy. She was very excited about the great looking GF friend chicken and other fried foods, come to find out they fry everything in peanut oil. Just seemed a little odd that an allergen friendly place would use a top allergen for frying. When we got the check there was also a "hospitality fee," which seemed odd and was not mentioned on their website or menu. Overall the food we ate was very good! Just some notes for people with allergies.
