"It’s hard to think of Moulin as simply a bakery. The restaurant footprint includes the snappy Bouillon, inspired by French blue collar brasseries from the late 1800s, and five Parisian-inspired cafes scattered from Costa Mesa to Dana Point. Though the crepes and croque madames are big draws, owner Laurent Vrignaud and his culinary team serve some of the best baguettes and Parisian-style pastries in Orange County. The delicately layered millefeuille and arguably the OC’s best rum baba are served at all locations, along with a simply delectable pear and almond sable tart." - Jenn Tanaka

"Owner Laurent Vrignaud brought his version of Paris to Orange County in 2014, with chairs and tables sourced from a cafe near the Eiffel Tower. Orange County’s favorite classic French bistro serves traditional croque-madames; crepes filled with Nutella, strawberry, or apricot jam; a variety of delicate pastries; and, of course, fresh-squeezed orange juice." - Jenn Tanaka

I came here once before and had been dying to make the drive back—and it was absolutely worth it! Amazing French food is hard to come by, but this place does not disappoint. From perfectly crafted sandwiches to classic French dishes and (my personal favorite) indulgent pastries, everything is top-notch. On top of that, they have an incredible selection of imported goods that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a little corner of France. The quality, authenticity, and attention to detail in every bite and product they offer make this spot a must-visit for any French cuisine lover!

Google
Love it here! Come early because it does get busy. French food and pastries are fresh and delicious. It's authentic. I hear both customers and the staff speaking French. Great outdoor seating to share a fresh baguette 🥖 with butter and jam with a coffee. I recommend le croque madame and the French onion soup.

Google
Can’t think of a better spot in Irvine for a pastry, Parisian sandwich, light meal and coffee. Great European flare and helpful staff. Nice patio despite the SNA flight traffic…but not their fault. I look forward to returning and checking out the rest of the menu.

Google
MOULIN French Café and Bakery offers delicious food with a wide variety of authentic products from France. The veggie sandwich is a must-try, and the selection of pastries is impressive. However, if you don’t eat pork or drink alcohol, it’s a good idea to ask which cakes and pastries are free from these ingredients. While the food is excellent, the cleanliness could be improved for a better overall experience. Still, it’s a lovely spot for a taste of France!

Edit: Second time here today. Reduced service to 4 stars. The girl at the pastry counter was rude and in a rush. I don’t need an attitude. Also, 30 min before close and she says “There isn’t much left” as I am looking and deciding she is actually pulling stuff out of the case and putting it away! The rest still stands…amazing food and pastries. Wow what a cool place! I got there just at close they let me in and I went in a French pastry binge! Great selection, next time I am in town I am going here for lunch!

Google
Nothing has changed, which is a huge compliment! Every visit is exactly as before with impressive quality and through high effort by an excellent and friendly team. The food never fails, it always tastes incredible and the ambiance is wonderful. The only change is expanding options, locations, and new menu items!

Google
I would not recommend if you are not taking it out. 1. There is no microwave to heat the food up. 2. By the time I ordered my food and went to sit down, the food was cold. I couldn't eat the food. The pasta was cold, the potatoes were cold, the brisket was cold... vegetables was cold. Sitting area outside was so cold and windy... everything kept flying away( like the tissues) It's was just chaotic. I walked up to the register , I explained my ordeal and requested to heat up my food but they said they do not. A representative (maybe the manager) came to me and offered me food on the house, this made me feel better , because I already trashed my food. One thing I did like from here tho is the orange juice and latte. It is Fresh & Nice

Google
Mon Dieu!! This is some find. Google maps must be wrong mistaken because France is in fact right next to the Santa Anna airport. I couldn’t believe I didn’t need a passport to get in here - it’s that French. French radio playing on the speakers. French staff helping me understand what all the incredible pastries are. And - the food…! Ah, the food. I couldn’t decide and ended up with a Tarte Tatin and a croissanwich with ham and cheese along with a double espresso. The croissant was buttery and flaky, and the egg was freshly prepared and had a decent amount of ham and cheese mixed into the egg which was folded in the shape of the croissant. They even had little packets of Cholula if you wanted to kick things up a bit. Too bad they didn’t have French hot sauce, but not even sure if that exists. The croissant even came with a small side salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. very nice touch and unexpected, but I guess I should’ve read the menu. Tarte tatin was incredibly caramelly with soft apples and a nice dense base sort of graham crackery like a cheesecake. Not sure what the little cream puff was on top, but it was not at all sweet and actually went very nicely with the sweetness of the tart. My only regret was that the croissant and salad were served in paper boxes, even though I said I was eating here. They give you one of those little numbers that you put on your table, and brought me out a paper bag with the boxes inside. Would’ve been much nicer to have everything on plates. The espresso was tasty, but not among the better ones I’ve had. Nice nuttiness and great viscosity and almost tasted like peanut butter very low bitterness as well. Including a few pictures of the myriad pastries they have to offer. I only worked out for an hour this morning, so I (unfortunately) had to limit my intake to one. They have a very nice selection of tables outside with a ton of umbrellas. Chairs are somewhat rickety and uncomfortable, but even that felt very French. Sitting outside by a lovely fountain and enjoying my incredible pastries and espresso felt like I was right off the Champs-Élysées. Everything was so good that as I was wrapping up my breakfast i decided to get myself some lunch to take on the plane as well. The selection of baguettes and Panini‘s was fantastic. The bread is incredibly soft yet dense. There was a plethora of smoked salmon and delicious avocado, the tartness of the cornichons with the unctuousness of the Saucisson was to die for. Certainly better than anything I would’ve gotten on the plane, and about the same price. That does bring up a good point, however, this place is not cheap. Sandwiches for $14+. My croissant breakfast sandwich $13. The pastries from three to $10 as well. All in all - This is definitely a must visit spot if you are in the Irvine area - thank me later…!

Yelp
The original bakery had both amazing pastries as well as sandwiches made to order. There're plenty of outdoor tables and great ambiance. I had the French flan (who knew!) and it was excellent! Very smooth and just the right sweetness. I also had almond croissant which was very tasty and flaky. The service was quick and friendly. I'll be back to try more stuff!

Yelp
This café was a complete disappointment. The food was average at best--2 stars--but the service was a mess. Despite having a number for our order, we had to pick up our own drinks and sandwiches. The staff seemed completely clueless, and the barista, in particular, was in her own little world, leaving drinks on the counter without even notifying us. To top it off, they have a bizarre rule about not warming up baguettes. Seriously? Isn't that a basic expectation for a French café? The lack of flexibility and effort was shocking. Combine that with the disorganized staff and the general lack of care, and you've got an experience that's frustrating and forgettable. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're okay with doing all the work yourself for an underwhelming meal. What a letdown.

Melody C.

Yelp
This bakery has good pastries and desserts. Usually busy but we went at a time where the line was super short. It is a bit loud inside but not too bad. Workers are helpful but sometimes it was a bit hard to understand what they were saying. Make sure you go early because they sell out of pastries you may want to try. They are a bit on the pricey side but most of them are worth it!

Nghi T.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for a while now and it definitely met expectations! It's a nice pick up and go or order and dine type of place. There's plenty of seating outside as well! You order from the counter and then they give you a number to set on a table for the food to be brought out. The person at the cashier was so nice and patient on explaining the process as well! I ordered the Le croque madame (which comes with a side of salad) and it was so so good and fresh! I did take a look at the pastries which looked good as well but didn't order any :) will definitely be back to try some more food on the menu and maybe one of their baked goods next time.

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Ok after coming back to Moulin with friends over the years, this are my quick tips! * croissants from the bakery are a must * the baguette sandwiches (especially the paté) slaps and I will forever enjoy it every time * avoid popular meal times as the parking lot gets chaotic real quick. There have been times where there is absolutely no parking

Kelsey N.

Yelp
When you walk in you immediately get to see the beautiful desserts displayed. Service was super friendly and we grabbed four desserts to go and ate at the tables outside. They also have a great market with cheeses and wine and sandwiches and other lunch items. My favorite was the tarte tatin I could have easily eaten three of them. We went at lunch time and it was very busy. Would definitely come back!

Terrence Y.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this Moulin yet. I probably thought I did so never bothered to check. First of all, this place is awesome! I visit here as often as I can and always if I'm in the area. If I miss them for breakfast or lunch, I visit their sister restaurant next door, Bouillon, for dinner. While it's almost always busy, the staff is always so cheerful and helpful. I usually know what I want so I can go through quickly, but it's always good to see if they have something special in the salad or hot entrée areas. The café is laid out perfectly with several order counters depending on what you want to eat or drink. It's brightly lit with a lot of French flare and merchandise all around. I usually grab a baguette sandwich, a beet salad, iced tea and a chocolate almond croissant. The perfect lunch! I always visit the little bakery area too and buy myself treats to take home.

Yelp
I came here with a friend on a Monday just before the busy lunch crowd - and it was still packed inside the shop. Warning/Heads-Up --- There are multiple ways to purchase items & order food. I'm still not exactly sure what the process is. However, I observed what other did & jumped into a line with folks holding menus. I ordered the chicken pesto baguette. It was longer than expected and the pesto was perfect (not oily or too overwhelming). My friend opted for the ham, egg & cheese croissant from the breakfast menu. It was beautiful & came with a side of greens (which I thought was a bit heavy on dressing because I ate it). We shared a bowl of fries which were fresh & hot. (But no ketchup or offer of ketchup). Great place for nice lunch.

Yelp
It is a commonly acknowledged fact that Orange County does not have the same diverse and quality dining options as L.A. (yes even the Asian restaurants). What it does have may be fewer and farther in between, but worth the extra long drive in the suburbian OC roads. We drove from Tustin to Newport for a 10:30am brunch and the place was already abuzzing; luckily we scored a lone table outside. We ordered rotisserie chicken, an almond croissant, celery root salad (a surprise hit!), some stuffed French bread, and an assortment of desserts. Everything was delightful, although the croissant could be softer and more airy and I did not taste much almond in it. (Go to "Artelice Pastisserie" in L.A. for the best almond croissant and eclairs.) An interesting Parisian cafe experience in the OC. I can totally see why it's a popular local hotspot.

Yelp
We love love love MOULIN, one day you will change your mind Laurent and open a location in GLENDALE Americana on Brand . Excellent quality of food and service, everything perfect and great locations, love the outdoor seating & beautiful space and ambiance but you need to come to Glendale please

Yelp
This is a Parisian restaraunt centrally located just off the freeway in Newport Beach. Very busy spot. There are 3 other Moulin restaurants in Orange County. 1 in Laguna, Dana Point & San Clemente. The food was an A+ for us. The process of ordering inside was a bit unclear as to which counter to order at. Beautiful pastries & goodies behind the glass counters inside. Wines & several gift items for sale inside. Will return to San Clemente to taste more options. Ample parking lot available. Lovely outside patio with a fountain & many red umbrellas . Very tasty egg /ham croissant sandwich, crepe & a veggie quiche. Salad on the side good but a bit overdressed. Table service was attentive at cleaning our plates...

Suzette S.

Yelp
We celebrated our wedding anniversary in Paris this May! This felt like we were back in Paris! A most authentic Parisian experience!! We enjoyed breakfast! The quiche was so flavorful! You had to place your order at the register. No refills on coffee. With my cafe Au lait had the most delicious dark chocolate treat! You can purchase many French products! Parking on site. Dog friendly.

Claudette L.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful spot to spend a few hours - the well-shaded, heavily planted patio is perfect for people-watching. A trillion years ago, I had the most perfect sandwich off a cart at Musée Matisse - til my lunch at Moulin, I'd never seen that particular combination again! Best pastries I've had outside an actual arrondissement - the café éclair was divine and the croissant (eaten at 4:30pm that day) was still crisp and crackled the way it ought. Appears that the staff all have some degree of familiarity with French - this was the first place I could give my proper name on an order without anyone doing a double-take or asking me to spell it. Loved it. Would have been five stars for me if they'd had any palmiers, but alas.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Amazing French cafe with lots of options, from breakfast, to salads, to sandwiches, to full entrees. We ordered the half roasted chicken, les parisiens sandwich, beet salad, and an almond croissant. The sandwich and salad were pre-made and served immediately after we ordered while the chicken was made-to-order. Everything was a good portion size and the food was enough to share amongst three people. The fries with the chicken were amazing and one of my favorite parts of the meal. I was expecting the sandwich to be prosciutto ham but it was more of a cold cut ham. Service was great and they were prompt. You order first and then they bring out the made-to-order food by a table number. Drinks and coffee are picked up at the drinks counter. Shared parking lot with neighboring businesses.

Christopher T.

Yelp
This place is a go place for me to get French pastries and breads and sometime champagne and coffees. It just delish and not too sweet at all. Been here for years and will continue til I move to another State or France.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Originally was going to stop by the location further south but glad we stopped by this one instead! It's so big inside with so many different pastries, cheeses and things to shop for inside. I did not expect to see a giant croissant as well. We got a couple of pastries which were so good. The crème puff was soft with a nice filling. We got the French onion soup with the sandwich as well. Everything was super flavorful and filling and will definitely be coming back. It was pretty hot outside and our seat didn't have an umbrella. The waiter was kind enough to ask us if we wanted one and attempted to grab one for us but another customer refused. We appreciated the offer though as we did not ask. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 (there was a giant spider on the bush next to our seat I was terrified of the whole time. Ambience inside was great though.)

Irena T.

Yelp
Cool concept and organization of the restaurant. Also plenty of outdoor seating. I'd heard so much about their croissants and wanted to try for myself. Roughly $5 and decent size, but really, it was average. Not that flaky or buttery and wouldn't buy it again.

Zinnia V.

Yelp
We love this place for their French onion soup!! It comes out piping hot and deliciously cheesy top with the bread bits still crispy inside and the onion soup is so savory and flavorful! Also got some meat dish, not sure what it's called but it was very soft and juicy with a bunch of bone marrow. The savory mushroom pastry was dry and not very special, you can skip it! Overall very nice experience, it gets very busy/packed however so maybe have someone find a seat while someone else orders in line!

Aaron G.

Yelp
Food 5/5 Service 5/5 with even French speaking staff Coffee 2/5 ( I'm use to sweet so Ambiance is nice and it's nice to drive to of your from the south at area and not a local Kid / family friendly Definitely French vibes , but with no smoke and good service lol The inside with desert is jaw dropping Only negative i have, to the staff, if there is a table by the bush please do not keep trying to squeeze by its rude. Down the corridor there is a store associated, the owner is also French and really pleasant and funny Will be back for lunch !!!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Fantastic! Delicious and special. Grab whatever dessert you like. The menu changes and you can always try something new. If you love fruit, chocolate, caramel or French classics you'll find something to love. I only grabbed dessert and nothing else, but I easily fell in love with this place. By the way, the flan is nothing like Latin flan. It has a crust and is more dense. But the yuzu lycee, and caramel apricot are heavenly.

Melody M.

Yelp
Was traveling to LA to visit relatives and this was one of the recommendations from my aunt. Quite a big cafe with an outdoor patio with an attached bakery. I didn't have a chance to try the cafe, but I did get a variety of pastries to try. All of the them were little works of art and visually mouth watering. Price point is on the higher side, but I can see the time it takes to make them. The bakery also sold gifts and retail things from, what looks like, France. There is parking in the lot, but this can get crowded. Will definitely want to come back to try the cafe.

Allison T.

Yelp
Moulin has long been my favorite places to enjoy French food and ambiance in Orange County. This location has a little bit of everything- a deli, cheeses, baguette sandwiches to go, prepared food, wine, coffee, and a little market for French groceries and souvenirs. It's delightful. I love to get an omelette, some orange juice, and sparkling wine to make my own mimosa. I love this place for brunch, but be sure to bring your patience as it's very popular. Ordering is easily done in a cafeteria -style line, but finding a table may be tricky. Worth a little bit of a wait, though. Enjoy!

Terry K.

Yelp
#allthingsfrench, #frenchpattiserrie, #beachlife, #goodfood, #champagne Coffee and a pastry? check French Onion Soup? check Retail items from France? check French champagne? check If you want to visit and taste France by the beach, stop in a Moulin in Newport Beach. Cute little (ok not so little) French bistro serving prepared foods (which menu changes almost daily) but their steady dish to get? FRENCH ONION SOUP!! Take your soup, grab a baguette, grab a split of Champagne, and grab a seat in their patio and enjoy your meal. Wait! you want more? Ok, then go and grab some cheese and French deli cold cuts to add to your meal. If you are looking for gifts then grab some of the cute items they have on display for sale.

Yelp
ALMOND CROISSANT: -- medium-large size -- nice tan brown toasted color exterior -- ample toasted sliced almonds on top -- dense weight to it -- light dusting of powdered sugar on top -- pretty flaky -- almond paste tasty but the interior absorbed it all into the bread so it felt like there could have been more -- light sweetness -- firm exterior -- somewhat buttery -- soft interior w/some firmness -- it appears they are a little inconsistent as it is fairly different every time RATING = B+ APPLE FILLED CLAM SHELL TYPE PASTRY: -- light and sweet -- medium-large sized -- moderate plus amount of tasty apple filling -- firm exterior -- 330F for 5 minutes in the air fryer resurrected it nicely -- adding light whipped cream would make it even better -- pretty tasty -- not that buttery RATING = A-

Noel C.

Yelp
Customer was so nice and helpful. Beautiful display cases in both the pasty and cafe side. Sadly almost everything I wanted was sold out by 1130 on a Monday morning. Chocolate butter, kouign amann and chocolate almond croissants all gone. I did still get some delicious butter, pate and breads. Along with some pastry.

Xiao S.

Yelp
The Mont Blanc was good. The Latte could be better. There were quite a few indoor and outdoor seatings, I had no.problem getting one on a busy morning.

Angel D.

Yelp
Our group of six ladies all enjoyed our various lunch selections: niccoise salad, smoked salmon sandwich, pesto chicken salad, pesto chicken omelette, tuna salad sandwich, almond croissants, drip coffee, and a pear-almond tart. Even though they're well-staffed, the sheer volume of patrons made it hard for the crew to bus tables quickly while prepping and delivering food. However, we found a table outside and got our food in a timely manner. The line seemed to move quickly which makes me think they're used to the weekend lunch rush. Love that you can order an already prepped salad and sandwich to make quick exit which reminded me of grab and go bakeries in NYC and Western European cities. The pastries are prominently displayed making for a feast for the eyes. And amazingly, all of the ones we ordered tasted as good as they looked! The almond croissant was flaky, buttery, with an ample portion of almond paste and slivered almonds. There was no sogginess to be had only crispy edges and deliciousness! The smoked salmon sandwich was fresh and had a wonderful stack of salmon pieces on fresh bread. Everything was so good, I had to glance at the menu again and my friend asked if I was already thinking about what I'd order next time!

Karla T.

Yelp
So obsessed with Moulin, all locations! Love the Costa Mesa, New Port, Dana Point and San Clemente. At all of them the service, quality of the food and cleanliness is always perfection. Some go to favorites are the chicken pesto sandwich, the raspberry and pistachio bread and the beet salad. If you are in any of these areas stop in and you will not be disappointed.

Stephen B.

Yelp
The food in this restaurant called Bouillon owned by Moulin is largely good but the way we had $21 tacked on to our menu for a dab of caviar is dishonest. My wife ordered the bream which was stated to cost $29, and the waiter asker my wife "Do you want the caviar that comes with it?" She said yes and when we got the bill there was $21 tacked on for this. Nowhere on the menu was this given and the price was hidden until we got the bill. Frankly this is simple unvarnished cheating. This underhanded deceit spoiled our evening.

Michael B.

Yelp
BAD ! What an over rated shit hole ! Worst lattes & cappuccinos on the planet. Untrained baristas and rubbish roasted coffee beans ! And the food is cheap quality pretend French crap ! NOTE - Of course with 20 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2023 I can tell you what is great !

Katrina V.

Yelp
I did a search of patisseries in the area and came across Moulin. I was staying right by the airport, which made Moulin a quick 5-minute drive away from my hotel. I was pleased to find that Moulin was a full blown boulangerie, marché, and patisserie. I had a stint in Paris, so this place gave me the nostalgic feels of my time there AND I even got to practice my French since the employees were French speaking. I arrived at Moulin around 8:15am on a Wednesday morning. Place wasn't too busy, but it was lively and they were getting a steady stream of customers. I ended up checking the boulangerie section first and got a chicken and mushroom pot pastry. I also ordered a latte from this area. While waiting for my latte, I checked out the patisserie and admired the selection of petits gateaux. I saw a couple of my favorites, including Paris Brest and Mont Blanc. I got a Mont Blanc for good measure since I never see this in patisseries in the U.S. After I got all my orders, I found a cozy and quiet spot outside. The savory puff pastry was fine. Would've been nice if it was slightly warmed up. Not sure if I could request for it to be heated, but I'll inquire for next time. Best Mont Blanc I've had in America, which says a lot because I haven't had a solid Mont Blanc since I was living in Paris.

Banafsheh G.

Yelp
Love , love the deserts and the sandwiches, and about the breakfast absolutely great and great quality of food. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great just like in paris. Cant wait to be back 10 times more.

Britney M.

Yelp
Picked up a TROPEZIENNE cake on Christmas Eve! We got super lucky that there was one left! There was also one flan cake left. We did not want the flan cake though. We were lucky that there was anything left as this was a last minute, the day of, grab and go! The cake was fluffy and filled with cream. Basically a cream puff cake lol We brought it to Christmas Eve with my family and everyone seemed to like it. I want to come back to try the berry tart dessert! It looks so delicious!

Vivian H.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try Moulin for awhile now since a friend recommended...but I'm not a morning person so it's hard for me to get out of bed early! Went on a weekend peak brunch time and it was super packed. Parking wasn't too hard to find, but you may need to walk a little. The seating is all outside, which the day I went would've been perfect weather to be outside with the warm sun. Their system is you order and pay for food first, they give you a number to put on your table, then bring the food directly to you. I ordered to-go and they just had me wait near the counter with a number in hand. I was a bit confused on where to order the hot foods but you can order it at either the bakery side or cold sandwich side. Both areas have the menu for you to look at upon checkout. I ended up getting the croque madam, omelet paysanne and some desserts. It was nice that both entrees come with a side of salad too. Croque madam was very nice and cooked well. Bread was soft and ham was flavorful. Omelet paysanne had ham and mushroom inside which actually tasted not how I'd expect actually. But overall it was still good; nothing too memorable for me. I may explore other omelet options next time I go! Desserts we got was this lemon tart and Millie feuille. Millie feuille was recommended by the cashier and it looked very pretty so I gave it a try. Both were pretty yummy and would work so well with coffee/tea! Lemon tart was strong in the zest and you really taste the strong lemon flavor. Millie feuille was good too, haven't had the dessert before so I'm glad I got to try it - would recommend! Overall even for a to-go experience I enjoyed it. Everything was well packaged and transported well. I didn't have to wait super long for my food either which was nice. This is a cute breakfast/brunch date area to go since the vibes are pretty chill too. Highly recommend to come early though because I heard things do run out in the afternoon!!

Grace N.

Yelp
I like this location because it is big, with so many selections for delis and goodies from France, plus breakfast and everything else in between. And you can speak French or practice your French here if you're not shy! There are always plenty of tables outside. Staffs are very nice here. Very different from the Moulin at South Coast plaza... Their bakeries are so yummies and breakfast items are always so delicious here. Highly recommend! Still one of my favorite places for Breakfast!

Dan E.

Yelp
Great cafe' need to go back and try other items available. Service was great. Especially the guys who went around and checked on everyone at their tables. I'll be back soon.

Ashley P.

Yelp
My favorite bakery ever, this is the best cookie I've ever had!!! Perfect texture, perfect amount of flaky salt, soft on the inside and harder on the outside, and pretty big. Also tried the coffee eclair, which was very good but a little sweet for me. I need to come back and try more.

Elena C.

Yelp
1. French onion soup - 10 2. Poulet frites - 8.5 One of my all time favorite bakery/cafes! Their French onion soup is cheesy and flavorful, one of my favorite soups ever. The skin and dark meat of the chicken from the poulet frites is very good, however the breast is dry. They have really good baguettes (10/10) and desserts as well (I always grab one when I'm there). It's like visiting Paris in OC.

Kevin K.

Yelp
I've been craving French brunch and pastries, and this place has everything. Variety of selection when it comes to food items. I think their exterior design also makes them stand out from being in a strip mall. Highly recommend.

Grace C.

Yelp
This Moulin location in Newport Beach is much larger than others. It has a bistro to eat at, an all day restaurant, a bakery and there is a home store in the same plaza. Our kid enjoyed the Pumpkin Pie macaron and we ordered a very buttery, rich, chocolate hazelnut dessert which was enough for all of us to share. I wanted to try some of the desserts and croissants. Another time! Interestingly it seemed that all the staff we encountered could speak French or has a French accent. More SoCal tips: @grace.loves.adventures

Jacqui C.

Yelp
Pls wipe down the tables after clearing them, thank you. Your food is only as good as your bad service.

Alexis K.

Yelp
Moulin is simply an excellent patisserie and cafe. Its ambiance is makes a great effort at the French vibe. Service depends. But the food is so delicious, and you can just tell it's made of high quality ingredients. This is a wonderful place to take your family!

Yelp
Coffee and food ordered via DoorDash. It is near my work. Unfortunately, figuring out where to pick up was confusing. I had to wait for the coffees to be made but that wasn't the problem. Both coffees tasted like warm water and both were supposed to have an extra shot. Didn't taste like it. Didn't taste like much of anything... this is my second time ordering here. The tartes are the only good thing here.

Yelp
Came with the family the Saturday after Thanksgiving around 11:30am and the place was popping!! It cleared up a bit after the morning rush and we were able to easily get a table outside. It's a seat yourself place. First time here and we are obsessed with this place -- + Le Croque Madame (5/5) + Almond Croissants - so flakey so delicious (5/5) + Le Croissandwich with Bacon - so good but if you only have one choice, get the Le Croque Madame! My brother disagrees and would prioritize the Croissandwich (5/5) Every sandwich came with a salad so it was pretty filling. Between the 4 of us, we shared 2 sandwiches and many croissants. I also love that they have a bunch of French trinkets, snacks, teas, etc for sale here. It gets pretty hectic inside at the peak hours - there's a long line wrapping around the sandwich area and folks trying to get to the pastry section. An extra door or pathway would really help. Overall a great experience. Will definitely be adding this to our repertoire/rotation when we're in the area!

Yelp
Amazing & cute pastry and bakery shop!! This place is right next to the restaurant bouillon moulin-- but it is more of a cafe and bakery. You order inside the shop and you sit at any table outside with your number. The staff here are very busy but kind. The desserts here were amazing!! Loved every bite of it. I want to try their breads and sandwiches next time. One of the finest French biz in the area :) 10/10 would recommend this place and the restaurant next door!

Yelp
Horrible horrible pastries. I've never had to pick out ham from a ham and cheese croissant because it tasted so bad I was afraid the meat was old and I'd get sick. Another pastry tasted like cat food inside and my cappuccino came out cold, but the barista remade it hot for me at least.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for any French place. This has some of the freshest ingredients and it has all the best things I used to get from my French grandmother growing up. I really enjoyed sitting outside next to the fountain on the patio. There is ample seating and umbrellas outside but there is probably going to be a wait as this is a busy spot. I recommend the pastries and the croque mossier

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Newport Beach I make it a point to stop here. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere unique, and it takes me back to Paris every time.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday, it was pretty packed. Luckily I found parking right away but usually the parking lot is insanely packed. I ordered Le Croque Madame, Le Poulet Frites/ Pommes Rustique w/ Salade, and Beet Salade (not pictured because I devoured it). I think I liked the Beet salad the most. The other two plates were okay...nothing spectacular. However, pastries here are .
