14 Stellar Spots to Sip Wine in Vancouver and Clark County, Washington | Eater Portland

"Moulton Falls Winery & Cider House has a little something for everyone. The large indoor space, constructed by owner Joe Millea and his brothers, houses a wine bar as well as a beer and cider bar. Moulton Falls sources grapes from Red Mountain, Yakima Valley, and Columbia Valley in Eastern Washington, for French blends like a 2016 syrah, mourvedre, and petite sirah that goes well with the wood-fired pizza made in the large outdoor space. Drink and dine with gorgeous views of the Cascade foothills." - Rachel Pinsky

Google
I'll start off by saying that this place is gorgeous! Great view of the mountains, and love overall atmosphere of the place. Also, the ciders were delicious. Did a flight and every single flavor was great. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star is the price. To charge 9 dollars a pint and 29 dollars for a growler fill is just too much for me. While my wife and I enjoyed this place, I don't see us coming back unless its a special occasion.

Google
Absolutely lovely place. The service was amazing, the oven fired pizza was delicious, and I very much enjoyed the wine tasting. We sat outside and enjoyed the scenery and fresh air. I would definitely go back!

Google
Very cool place to stop and enjoy some cider and pizza. They also had live entertainment, which was a bonus.

Google
Thin crust wood fired pizza was excellent! Cider was also tasty. Good ambiance with games to play while you sit by the fire

Google
Great cider with lots of unique options, good wine and food, and live music. We have enjoyed everything that we have tried here so far food wise. Love the out of the way setting as well, and can't wait to spend some time on their patio this summer! Follow them on Facebook because they're always posting about events. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the service can be hit or miss depending on which server you get and their mood that night.

Google
A wonderful tasting room with a great selection of wines and ciders! The owners, Joe and Susan are genuine and warm-hearted and truly care about providing an outstanding experience! Yummy pizza and a great selection of local musicians make Moulton Falls a must visit destination!

My wife and I shared a Cider flight and their Chicken Pesto pizza, I was excellent. Delicious choice of ciders and the wood fired pizza came out fast and was great. Just right for a light dinner.

Yelp
Hidden gem in a beautiful rural setting. Worth the drive! Live music was fantastic. Plenty of seating. Beautiful venue inside and out. We had the cider flight. It was some of the best cider we have ever had. They also have fantastic snack plates and wood fired pizza. The service was warm and friendly. Rustic beautiful ambiance. We will definitely be going again. This is a special place!

Yelp
On my third visit to Moulton Falls Winery and it was a pretty bad one. Two of the three employees or owners were super cranky and it wasnt busy. The woman cooking the pizzas was vaping while she worked which was a pretty crazy sight to see. Same person told us to get our own plates inside, did not bring them out for the shared pizzas. But she sure was nice when closing our tab though at the register. On the good side, a third older woman was working there who cleared our plates, asked how everything was and was very nice and friendly. The pizza is good and the venue itself is beautiful. Sadly it may be some time before I return there after this experience. It was a one star experience but giving it two because the other times were totally fine. But the employee vaping was too much.

Yelp
Moulton Falls Winery has some of the best cider in the state. Yep, you read that right. Cider flights AND wine flights! The only thing I regret is not ordering one of their wood-fired pizzas. Those looked outstanding! But the best part about MFW wasn't the food or drink, though both were superb. It was the charm and customer service from the staff! Both friendly and hospitable, they made us feel like family. After hiking around the neighboring hills, be sure to stop at Moulton Falls to refuel and relax. The ambiance is so cozy, you'll want to come back on a cold and snowy day.

Yelp
Such a cool venue! Checked it out after visiting Lucia Falls and Moulton Falls. We explored a couple cider flights and a wine flight and really enjoyed the artichoke dip and a meat lovers pizza. Can't say enough great things about the place and the super friendly staff. There were musicians setting up and I'm sad we didn't have time to stick around for the live music. Absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We came to see the Moulton Fall! And after we wanted to try some winery around the area. There isn't much option but this is one of the spot. We came around the time they just open. Friendly staff came to greet us and sat we sat at the bar. We ordered the cider flight and one their wine flight, and a pizza to share. The cider all tasted fairly semi sweet and flavorful. I'm a sweet kind of person so all of them tasted great to me! For the wine, I don't much knowledge but it was good, my friend liked. The pizza was wood oven make. It tasted great with the pairing of our drinks. Definitely grab a bottle or two when you head out!

Yelp
Came here after an afternoon ride on the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. Tried the cider flight: honey lavender, blackberry, pine-razz (sweetest), and black cherry (driest); also the Moulton Pizza Combo.

Yelp
We needed to get the hell out of the house. I looked on the map around Yacolt figuring its open country and not a Covid hotbed. It's a nice drive and only 30 min from Hwy 99 and NE 117th St. We took the dogs for a drive and found this place. It's in a beautiful setting and they have a nice outdoor patio. We had their Amber beer which was very good, a Humas plate that was delicious, and took home a bottle of Syrah that we will open during the holidays. Glad we found this gem. We will be back.

Yelp
A bit of a drive but well worth it. I skipped their wines in this trip, but their ciders were out of this world! Their cherry cider tastes like a cherry pie! You can't go wrong with a sampler and a growler to go.

Amy P.

Yelp
I hosted my husband's birthday party here yesterday and it turned out fabulously. We really liked their laidback informal feel to the place and that they had a nice place inside and outside where people can gather. The fire roasted pizzas were amazing. Their cider, wine and beer flights were popular. Service was good too. And clean. We are from Portland but it was worth the drive.

Yelp
Great place owners are very helpful. Wine and food are great they also make cider and have some beer on tap. So there is something for everyone. Live music on Friday Saturday nights they also have special events. Wood fired pizza is the bomb you can sit on the patio and watch them cook your pizza. Wines and ciders are great. Never a dull moment at the tasting room. Make sure you say hello to Jake (winery's giant lab).

Taylor A.

Yelp
I love this place. We came for the first time and they had a musician playing who was amazing. We stayed for 3 hours listening. They have a super cute dog and the views are beautiful. Also have delicious cider flights.
google avatar

Aleju S.

Yelp
We are so going back! The wood-fired oven pizza was crisp, light and tasty. And the beer....mmmm...I had an Arson Amber on tap - it was fresh and delicious!! Jake, the ambassador, was hilarious! Came over when the pizza arrived, and so we shared. LOL

J R.

Yelp
We went to Moulton Falls and wanted some lunch after. We researched this place and went right after. The service was great! They had 8 different ciders, all delicious. We shared interest in the sangria and they made us a fresh batch right there. The pizzas were some of the best woodfired pizza ever. Great patio to sit outside. Will be going back again!
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
Great Washington winery! I live in Washougal and am happy to find a closer winery than Dundee. Wish I were hungry enough for the pizza, but I'll be back. Excellent ciders too.

Yelp
They supposedly had a festival last Saturday, so my husband and I drove up there. ...$15 at the door? Well, we had cash in hand, but there was no one there to collect it and give us whatever mug and drink tokens. I'm sort of glad there was no cover, because the vendors promised were LuLaRoe, Lions Club, a Quilt Raffle, a Tie Dye booth and something else similarly uninspired, the music was not yet going, though it was later than the time advertised to begin and the food I guess was cooking, but there was no obvious menu to order off of. We wandered into the bar when we first got there and weren't even acknowledged, as the bartender was speaking to three young ladies. Not a "one second, folks," or even an eye contact acknowledgement we were there. After wandering around the "festival" for the entire 2-3 minutes that took, we went back in and waited to order ciders to not have wasted all that time in the car for nothing. This is the ONLY thing that earned these folks a star above the minimum. We had a raspberry one and a cherry raspberry one. Both were VERY tasty. I'm not sure I'd bother driving all the way up there again though, considering how half-assed everything else felt though. I'd be glad to buy it in a bottle or get it on tap at Heathen, etc, locally though.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Always very attentive and friendly service. The patio is beautiful and dog friendly! This is some of the best wood fired pizza I have had too. There are lots of options for everyone - cider, beer, and wine. We love Moulton Falls Winery!

Scott M.

Yelp
Great location if hiking Mouton Falls. Cider and pizza was really good! They showed concern with covid by using masks and wiping stuff down.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Beautiful setting. Pizza is wood fired, crispy and delicious. They let us have our little doggie on a leash outside and it was me and the kiddos loving life. Will definitely return for setting and the pizza!!

Yelp
Amazing place and attraction to the city! After taking the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad on Mothers Day we decided to stop by the winery for some cider and and pizza. This place totally was the icing on the cake to a lovely day. The cherry cider is my favorite and the pizza was incredible. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other delicious wines and ciders. For a small town there is tons of stuff to do I was pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
A friend of ours was playing one evening (group is called Maple Rose) so my husband, myself and a friend decided to give Moulton Falls Winery a try. We were not disappointed in the least!!! Husband and I did a wine tasting right off the bat, you belly up to a gorgeous wooden bar and the owner takes time to describe the wine (as they should). We were even given a sample of coconut wine, which my husband bought the rest of the only bottle, it was that delicious. I tried their English cider and it was amazing!!!! The pizza is pretty good. Pets seem to be okay here, as long as they are well-behaved. The winery is WAAAAYYYY out off of Lucia Falls road from Lewisville Highway, go past Pomeroy Farm for a good distance. They did have those eye-catching vertical flags to help mark the driveway. The building is large with high ceilings, there is plenty of seating: bar stools, tables for 4 and some couches with a (gas?) heater. The inside of the building has a log cabin sort of feel. Plenty of parking and bathrooms just outside the building. All in all, we had a fabulous night at Moulton Falls Winery and will definitely come back! Even contemplating celebrating my birthday here!

Yelp
Wonderful venue! We went to watch one of our favorite local musicians and we had a fantastic time at Moulton Falls Winery. We look forward to our next trip!

Yelp
I usually love this place, the food, the wine and the music have always been top notch. However, tonight I took four people with me to do the September wine train dinner; the food was awful..sausage dogs on a bun and two different pasta dishes along with tasting vouches for $50.00. These are not items that anyone at our table could eat, and since they didn't advertise the menu in advance I had no idea they would be serving sausage dogs. The appetizers were good, the train ride fun, the music great, but all of us walked away hungry as this isn't something any of us could eat. The wine train event has always been great, (this is my third year) last year it was fabulous; but this years September event leaves me not wanting to go back again.

Jenn M.

Yelp
My friends took me here (sept 26th) for a small pre-wedding bachelorette lunch. Covid style! They were amazing and the food and wine were beyond incredible!
google avatar

Rod S.

Yelp
Nice place and they occasionally co-ordinate with the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad for a pickup and "wine" train ride :) I enjoyed the tasting session and the tasting room itself. Like many Clark County wineries they bring their grapes in from Washington States premium grape region East of the Cascades and then make the wine locally from those grapes. I very much enjoyed the day here. They do have a restaurant and outdoor patio with stage for live music.
google avatar

Annette K.

Yelp
Great place to hang out. Great live music. Lots of wines and ciders. Worth the drive.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We had an exceptional experience at the October Wine Train event, it more than made up for the issues at the September Wine Train Event. Good food, exceptional service, Raspberry Cider to die for, and great music...what more could you want?
google avatar

Cheryl M.

Yelp
The wines are way overpriced for the quality but the ciders are OK. HOWEVER, the service is beyond deplorable. it's a cute place, but be prepared to be completely ignored and pay more than you should for the (dis)pleasure of the experience. We will no longer come here unless the current owners sell the place to someone who knows how to run a business and value their customers. The first time I went, the owner was behind the bar talking to a small group of men. I stood there for a few minutes and only once did he glance at me and go right back to having fun. That should have been my first clue.
google avatar

Jeanie S.

Yelp
Very fun and beautiful environment for a nice variety of wines, live music, wonderful wood-fired pizza as well as dessert! The new outside stage with surrounding tables is the perfect place for a evening concert and meal. I have a hard time selecting my favorite wine, but the availability of tastings let's you sample many before choosing.

Andrew C.

Yelp
this is a great place. it's not far from my house so it's very convenient for me. it's a nice small and cozy place to come out for some great wood fired pizza and great wine. beer, or ciders

Parisa B.

Yelp
As long as you don't order food you are okay, order food and good luck getting it! Their ciders however are good.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Special event train ride, appetizers were great. Wine tasting fabulous. Enjoyed the train ride next to the Lewis river. Dinner was a big disappointment. We were not told that we needed to reserve a table by writing our names on it so when we returned from train ride only one table left and it was next to the bar where everyone was bumping into us as we were trying to eat. Very disappointed

Heidi N.

Yelp
We love this place great for a date or pizza with the family . It's a must see winery you must see to believe how great it is .

Rita A.

Yelp
This is an awesome place. Their wines and cider are wonderful. We celebrated our 40th anniversary with some chilled Gertztrameiner from Moulton Falls. It was tremendous. Whenever we get up to Washington State, we always make sure to stop by. Joe and Sue, the owners, are very friendly. Also, their food is very tasty! We highly recommend this winery.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
Musicians on Friday & Saturday nights. Wood fired pizzas on Fridays and catered dinners on Saturdays. Relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Delightful owners.
google avatar

Jon Z.

Yelp
Great wine, great cider, great food, great company. Highly recommend stopping here. The owner is very friendly, and knows how to make great wine.

Bob M.

Yelp
I've visited this winery a few times. There's one thing that is a common theme here, poor service. Tonight we met some friends there, and there was only one person waiting tables. Early on it was fine, but as the establishment filled, they were quickly overwhelmed and severely understaffed. We were on the outside patio and finally had to go inside and stand in line to get served. The 1 wait staff had become a bar tender and was only serving the people who were waiting in a line. It's such a shame, because this place has a lot of appeal to it. The locals may be willing to put up with the poor service, but they'll never get any repeat business from outside of the immediate community.

Mike C.

Yelp
The trails and scenery alone are worth the visit to the area. But the real bonus was finding this winery with wood fired pizza and ciders! Great food and the wines and ciders were some of the best we have had in Washington.
google avatar

Courtney G.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite winery to go and sit and enjoy my time at. The wine and ciders are amazing, the food is to die for, and the winery dog "Jake" is always a great treat! This is our favorite winery in the entire area! My husband and I bring our 3 year old to sit by the fire and spend some time. She enjoys going and hanging out as much as we do!
google avatar

Martin D.

Yelp
Very tasty wines. Their new dry cider is also very good. Staff was very nice. Plenty of parking.

Holly H.

Yelp
Good wine and good food, but great view and land. Dogs are allowed and that's awesome! Highly recommend place!

Steve B.

Yelp
Some of the best wine in Clark County! Fantastic ambiance in the Tasting room and the owners, Joe and Susan are fantastic and generous people. Jake, the unusually large and lovable lab is worth the trip alone!

Samantha S.

Yelp
Beautiful barn and property. The staff was friendly and the wine was good. The one bad thing is that this winery is really out in the middle of nowhere. If you are in the area definitely stop by and taste the wine.

S M.

Yelp
Very good wines served in a rural setting. Owners are very pleasant and offer great information if you'd like to do some exploring in the local area. Wines are reasonably priced. They also offer live music and catered food on some nights.

Martha B.

Yelp
Beautiful tasting room. Great selections of wines (I highly recommend the Riesling). We went there for pizza and wine with friends on a Saturday. Highly enjoyed the entertainment, the food, the company and Big Jake. Worth the drive.

Terri J.

Yelp
Very nice tasting room and patio. Owners were friendly, good variety of wine and my husband enjoyed the cider as well. Had a veggie pizza which was also good. Did not rate higher for a couple reasons. I felt the wines were over priced to comparable wineries. The biggest negative to me was they did NOT waive the tasting fee when you buy a bottle. This is standard practice in every other winery I have been to. Left a bad taste in an otherwise nice experience
