"The lodge’s signature dining room focuses on high-quality, locally sourced proteins—free-range elk, bison, and caribou—presented in a refined, lodge-style setting that complements the property’s rustic-chic aesthetic and lakeside location." - Zoe Baillargeon

We celebrated our 38th anniversary at Mount Burgess Dining Room, and it was unforgettable! The setting is pure magic—breathtaking mountain views and the most stunning emerald-blue lake right outside the windows. The food was every bit as amazing as the scenery: perfectly cooked steaks full of flavor and decadent, delicious desserts to finish. The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and they made us feel truly celebrated. For a milestone dinner surrounded by incredible natural beauty, amazing food, and top-notch service, Mount Burgess Dining Room is simply perfect!

Stopped here as part of our Rocky Mountaineer Rail tour. We had a group of 25 people, and we had a reservation for a fixed menu luncheon. We got seated in a small separate dining room that had a nice view of Emerald Lake. We got our water and drinks right away. Then we waited. It took quite a while to get our first course, salad. Then we waited again for the entree, then we waited some more. Took about 1.5 hours for the entire meal. We were all on the same charter bus, so that was not a huge issue. The servers were all cheerful, and doing their best to get us the food when it was ready. Filled and refilled all of our waters and other drinks. Brought us rolls and butter to keep everyone happy. The food was pretty good, especially considering that they were feeding a large group. The salad was fresh, and well presented. The chicken was hot, tender, and had a flavorful sauce. The chocolate brownie dessert was a bit disappointing. Not sure how the service would defer as a single table?

By the time I got to Emerald Lake, between the anxiety for parking, the long walk up to the lake in the heat, and the intensity of crowds at the lake, it made for quite an overwhelming experience. The first cafe you encounter is just as intense and the line for canoe and boat rental is insane with the crowd. So I walked up to the cafe and it was a bit of respite from all the craziness. And I recommend you check it out for that. Get away from the crowd, enjoy a meal and rejuvenate. The dining room offer adult beverages and also a cooked menu that’s pretty reasonably priced. The lodge is historic and old. And also worth a look see.

Amazing food with an amazing view. I definitely recommend a reservation. The window seats are saved exclusively for them. We had the breakfast buffet, twice, because it was so amazing. For only $25 there were so many choices there was no chance of leaving hungry. A cereal and yogurt section, lots of delicious hot foods, bison sausage! Dinner was very good, albeit a bit pricy. I had the elk steak and it was pared perfectly with it's sides. The bison steak was bland and the potatoes were burnt on the bottom. We also had the pork belly. Delicious. The butterscotch pudding was a perfectly light end to a full meal. The only thing that could improve the experience would have been some music. We had to listen to the clank of utensils the whole time.

We ordered the roast Salmon for lunch and it was extremely delicious First, the salmon was beautifully cooked with a crispy crust and a juicy interior. The salmon soup came with huge chunks of flavorful salmon. The chickpea frites weren’t my favorite but everything tasted extremely fresh for a good price ~$20.

We are here for the second time, before it was at Cilantro restaurant. Everything tasted good, service was good as well. I would have leave 4 star, as the food wasn’t the best for the high end restaurant as it should be. But there is one very important thing to mention - you can’t order from the bar. 3 of us (party of 7) wanted a burger and it’s only available when seated at the bar. And it’s literally right there, they have the same kitchen. The supervisor came over and said that we can’t order that burger. Too bad as we have 3 rooms booked and the management could make an exception. Otherwise we enjoyed the place, it’s freshly renovated, a little cold though, but it’s because of too many windows and -17C outside. This place has a beautiful view, so obviously a place to go when you’re staying at the hotel. But if you want a burger you go to the bar while the rest of your family will dine in other place, weird right.

Amazing food and an amazing view. I definitely recommend a reservation in advance. We had dinner and celebrated my BD there☺️ Dinner was very good, a bit pricy though.

Very nice restaurant with a good menu selection. Enjoyed numerous Canadian wines from BC. Vegetable doneness was a bit variable.

Yelp
WOW!! The food here was INCREDIBLE!! My husband and I were Lucky to stay at the emerald Lake lodge resort this weekend. This restaurant is in the main lodge and the food and service were FABULOUS! We had dinner here both nights and I HIGHLY recommend the mushroom risotto, salmon, buffalo, and chicken. Michelle our waitress was very kind. I would recommend anybody to dine here even if you are not staying at the lodge! But you must make reservations!

Yelp
Wonderful food in terms of quality, taste, and artistry. Check out the halibut with prosciutto potato pave, and a ham hock broth. The fish is perfectly cooked with great pork flavors mixed in. Recommend reservations. They use Open Table, which is also embedded in their webpage for the restaurant at https://crmr.com/resorts/emerald-lake/dining/mount-burgess/ Wine list is solid. Amazing views of the lake. One downside is very slow service. They seem to have staffing shortages like many businesses do these days.

Yelp
The dining room is not very large, so for parties greater than 4 people, it's hard to get a table without a reservation. For our party of 6, we didn't have a reservation since we were driving from very far away and couldn't pin down our timing, so initially we were told to go to the other side of the lodge's check-in desk for first-come-first-serve seating at the Kicking Horse Lounge for guests without reservations. After waiting 30 min and still no seats opened up at the Kicking Horse Lounge, it was getting late, past 7:30pm, and there happened to be one table of 6 that was still empty at Mount Burgess, so the server seated us even without a reservation. We ordered the foie gras & duck confit brulee appetizer (which tasted like a dessert!), grilled lamb chops, Brome Lake duck breast, Atlantic salmon, and Alberta beef tenderloin as our mains; and the molten cake and the raspberry curd tart as desserts. The beef tenderloin and lamb chops were absolutely amazing, very flavorful and tender. The Brome Lake duck breast was very interesting, complex, and delicious. The salmon was nice and tender. The raspberry curd tart was very good and not too sweet. The molten chocolate cake unfortunately was no longer "molten" (more like a solid) by the time it was served to us. We waited an extremely long time between our appetizer and mains, and between our mains and dessert. We were already tired from all-day driving to get to Emerald Lake Lodge, so waiting a long time for a table, and then waiting a long time in between courses added to our exhaustion. Overall the food was great, the ambience was great, but just be prepared to wait.

Yelp
Amazing food and friendly service in the beautiful lake-side emerald lake lodge. Duck breakfast so tender and juicy, highly recommended.
