I used to deal with them and they usually very nice I'm disabled so I call to find out the price. Someone who says that a manager is very disrespectful and yelled at me over the phone when I asked a few questions I'll never shop there again

This wine store is about a 10 minute walk from my home but well worth it! They have a great selection of wine from different regions of the world. What's also great is that they're open 7 days a week. North End Liquor store is much closer to me, but they're closed on Sundays.

What I consider one of the best places to visit, especially when looking for unusual or hard to find wines and spirits. The staff members are pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable about their wares. Prices will beat most other competitors, but I doubt you'll receive the level of service my wife and I have always gotten here. Another thing, they carry some absolutely unique bottles, you have to see for yourselves, perfect for gifting or any other occasions. Check it out. 👍👍👍👍

I went to this liquor store for the first time last week, Love it great service n friendly atmosphere.

They have a very good selection of wines. Be ready to pay, selection comes at a high price but i supposed it is expected being that this wine shop could be considered a specialty italian wine shop. I bought 4 bottles and the bill was $127.34 Bought a bargain Amarone 09, and 3 other wines. Will keep you posted of the results. Overall the sales person was not pushy, guy at the counter was not very attentive. If my wines turn out to be good, i may just come back..

I have to say great awesome, fabulous, customer service I did my ordering on line but I got to speak to Randy because I had a problem he was so helpful very polite and understanding what an awesome guy. I recommended Mount Carmel Wine & Spirits to anyone they have so many great choices that I couldn't find any where else. Husbnad loves this place. They have a great selection of Italian wines which he is not able to find elsewhere. The owner is knowledgeable and you can count on him for good recommendations. We never leave enpty handed!

The only shop to carry: Scacciadiavoli Sagrantino di Montefalco Passito DOCG Gifted this to in laws last year, after searching for it over the ctiy (and google). Will be another Christmas purchase this year.

This is the best Wine and Liquor store in the neighborhood. It is owned by a father and son family, and they know how to treat their customers well. They have a wide selection of alcohol and wine. Anything you need or you're looking for if you can find it right here. And their store hours are great and dependable as well. "Anytime I am in need, Mount Carmel is where I proceed!!!"

Have never been to the store, but placed many an online order over the last few years. The free delivery for orders over $150 to Manhattan is really nice. BUT, I placed my last order last week and just got a phone call 5 days later to tell me one bottle was out of stock. I said that was fine, we'd still like the order, and I was then requoted a higher price than my original... When I queried as to why, I was told that it was because my new subtotal is now less than the $150 limit, so I was being charged a delivery fee. Now, given that this was an error on their end (database not updating the website and/or not packaging my order until after the wine had sold out), you would think they would deliver the order as is or at least suggest another option. I had to say to just replace the bottle with another bottle of the same price to keep the total the same. Was a little put-off with that lack of customer service...

An actual wine store in the Bronx. I love it. Huge selection of Italian wines and a good enough selection of the rest. Prices seem appropriate and the staff was really nice. Check out the cool shaped bottles in the window display...I want a model ship full of booze!

Large variety of wines and liquors, very friendly sales help and very knowledgeable. They know their stock. I found a 1.75 liter of Hendrick's Gin that most places don't carry at a very good price. They also just got in a gin named BullDog that I also bought because of the way the cashier described it as Bold, vivacious, and an explosion of flavor.

Go here if you want a wine perfectly paired with your meal. The owner Raymond was very helpful and we ended up chatting with him for quite a while after purchasing a few bottles of wine to go with our Sri Lankan dinner. This shop does not have an extensive selection of wines and spirits but you'll be able to find something great. I think they specialize in Italian wines which is understandable since they're in the Little Italy neighborhood of the Bronx.

A wonderful little wine store with a friendly, knowledgeable staff, specializing in Italian wines. The prices are pretty competitive, and the wines are organized helpfully by region, i.e. Veneto, Sardegna, Piemonte... When it happens that I'm in the area, I'm happy to stop by and pick up a few bottles that I have trouble finding elsewhere.

Very great customer service. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from a an older gentleman. He was very helpful and along with his colleague found what I was looking for. It wasn't the same kind I was looking for. In fact, I never seen this kind of my requested brand. Randy sold me the bottle and gave his expertise and he was on point. The store looks great and although I don't drink much, it looked like they had a large selection of different kinds of spirits. I'm from Brooklyn. It I'll come here just because.

This is such a refreshing liquor store. Most liquor stores in the bronx have bullet proof glass and bum hanging out in it. This place looks classy. You'd be surprised at how difficult it is to find a decent bottle of wine in the Bronx. Mount Carmel has a nice selection and the staff seems to be pretty knowledgeable about the wines.

My daughter lives near this liquor store and I went in there last summer to buy her a couple of bottles of wine before I returned home to California. I thought the place was great with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The prices are great as well. Today, I wanted to send my daughter a "wine care package" so I called to see if they would do my the favor of delivering the bottles to her place (across the street) and Randy said it would be no problem. I placed the order online and she had the wine within 20 minutes of my hitting the "send" button. Thank-you so much Randy for doing this favor for me! You guys are the best!!!!!!

A traditional italian wine store, with knowledgeable employees and a great selection of wines from various regions in Italy. Additionally, they have some uniquely shaped bottles of whiskey/rum in the shapes of a gun, dildo, painted cherub dolls, and more. Definitely a unique place.

bought a case of barolo for over 1200$ from these guys. after i opened the first two bottles and each was clearly corked, I called Raymond Polanco, the owner, to see if he could reach out to the distributor and possibly get a store credit. basically he told me to fuck off. after 15 years of patronizing this store and telling friends who like italian wine about them I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Corked wine happens but when you buy from reputable stores like Italian Wine Merchants or Zachy's they will work with a good customer to try and find a solution..not this POS.

Ordered a discontinued bottle of good Scotch at an excellent price. The store went out of its way to make sure that both the collectible box and bottle were packed carefully. Delivery was very prompt and the contents arrived in excellent condition. I recommend this store to any out of state shoppers looking for low prices and excellent service.

Mount Carmel has really benefited from their move across 187th St. Their new location is much bigger and more open, with a very spacious feel. It really is a nice upscale shop now, and they are definitely doing their best to appeal to weekenders with their Saturday afternoon wine and cheese tastings. I stopped in one weekend and they had tasty olive bread from Madonia and some nice little cheese cubes. The sommelier was dressed to the nines, but I was more impressed by his friendly demeanor and impressive wine knowledge. He insisted we try a red, a white and a rose wine, though I suspect he knew we weren't planning on purchasing anything at the moment. When I have come in to buy wine, I have found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful, and together we have always been able to strike a good balance between affordability and quality. I suspect the wine shop on the corner of Arthur and 185th might be cheaper, but Mt. Carmel is a much nicer and more welcoming establishment. If you are planning a food shopping trip to Arthur Avenue, I suggest you round out your day by purchasing a bottle of wine here.

It was quite a trek from Brooklyn to the Bronx, but it was well worth it -- I found this store after hunting around for some limoncello cream -- I first went to Eataly because it was closer, and I was told that they just carried plain limoncello, and that no one in the United States carried limoncello cream! I subsequently looked it up online, and found that this store had some available. I bought some of that, and some other items -- the staff didn't offer to help, but they let you take your time and look around, so I can't complain. Will definitely go back.

Went to Pennsylvania to visit with family and attend our niece's wedding. Had a chance to reconnect with some great friends and to share some fantastic wine and stories. When we returned to Arizona we were unable to find the new brand of wine our friends shared with us. We went online and found Mount Carmel Wines and Spirits. They carried the Verranzano Chianti Classic Reserve we were seeking and at a decent price. It arrived yesterday, fully intact and ready to share with our local friends. I travel from westchester to this wine store routinely. Found it b/c my daughter went to Fordham and lived nearby. Large selection and very well priced. Pick up some great Italian foods from mom and pops on Arthur ave and 187 to complete your meal.
