Why This Beloved Summer Destination in the Canadian Rockies Is Worth Visiting All Year Round | Vogue

"A family-owned lodge in Kananaskis, this retreat recently debuted six safari-style platform tents with gas stoves—and intentionally no TVs or WiFi—to truly unplug. Guests are greeted with a cheese and charcuterie board and can help themselves to an herbal tea bar stocked with Banff Tea Co. teas. Rates include hearty multi-course breakfast and dinner, paired with cocktails, beer, and wine if you wish, and on-site there are opportunities to snowshoe and stargaze. The tents’ toiletries come from local bath-and-body favorite Rocky Mountain Soap Company, described as the Canadian version of Lush." - Kristine Hansen

We chose this lodge for the location and it was amazing. We were on our last week of a 4 week trip and loved every minute. The food was good, room comfy, staff friendly. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at mealtimes & hearing everyone's stories. The staff helped us with what hikes would be suitable, we are from the UK so not used to altitude! We loved Kananaskis and, if we make it back to Canada, Mount Engadine is one of the places we would come back to.

I’m not sure what’s happened to this place, but it has really gone downhill. It used to be quite peaceful and the food portions used to be plentiful. Now they’ve added a bunch Yurts and it’s clear that the common areas are way too busy all the time. The charcuterie plate is still amazing. But the food has really gone downhill, including the portions. I’ve been there twice in the last two years and each time when they’ve served beef the portions are incredibly small. Like I took pictures to send to people to laugh about how small the portions were. They have recently had more in the way of German cooks, and maybe that’s why. Also, some of the staff are unfriendly. During Christmas time, the staff almost pushed us out of the cabin and fire area, just so they could have a party. I don’t know, man they should really have better control over everything, including food, consistency, and staff. I wonder if the staff realize that people are paying basically $1400 a night if they have a family with them. I did not tip them.

We enjoy coming to Engadine, for special occasions or just a few days away. Love that it includes meals and that drinks are available on property. Don't love that the hot chocolate used to be included in afternoon tea but has been removed and don't love that whereas previously we could ask for more of a certain item from the afternoon tea board we received looks and excuses why that wasn't allowed. Overall the staff is approachable but at times during our last visit we were made to feel like we were bothering them and because of that didn't ask for our steak to be cooked more thoroughly and therefore didn't eat it. I still recommend it as it is a beautiful getaway at a decent price. I suppose as most places, services are being cut back due to financial reasons, but there were a few things during our last visit that made me reconsider the frequency with which I will be visiting the lodge in the future.

We just had our wedding here last week. Our wedding couldn't be more perfect, the lodge is in a quiet secluded location where we were able to host 30 guests, the staffs are amazing, the food is amazing, the view is amazing. We want to thank Melanie especially, she is our wedding coordinator, from the day we viewed the venue to the day of the wedding, she is very helpful and quick to response. Our wedding wouldn't be as perfect if it wasn't for her. Highly recommend this location!

Mount Engadine is a little slice of heaven. We wanted to stay somewhere in the mountains, away from all the crazy busy crowds in Banff, and were so happy this place was recommended to us. We loved how quiet and private our experience was out there. The food was top notch and our room was so cozy. Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The location is amazing, staff was super friendly and helpful, and we saw some great wildlife. We stayed in the lodge in the Owl room. The room was simple with a great view of the meadow. It was located above the common area, which you could hear other guests in throughout the day. If you are sensitive to background chatter, I would recommend a different room. Overall, we felt like we got lucky with some outdoor and wildlife experiences that made our trip. Without those, we found the stay to be overpriced, especially for the price of the room we chose. Food was good/average. If we ever return, we would not stay in the same room. Perhaps one of the glamping tents or cabins that overlook the meadow.

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and loved it! Thew views, staff, and food were great! The perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of life! Definitely recommend the charcuterie/tea and hiking Chester Lake (easy), Smutwood Peak (hard), and Tent Ridge (hard) which are ~5min drive from the lodge

Stayed here for 1 night for a friend's wedding. We were given the Moose room, which was inside the lodge. Had amazing views throughout the entire room and had good sound proofing. There are also some binoculars for you use to spot wildlife in the common areas. Staff was very attentive and food was surprisingly really high quality.
