"Located less than a half-mile from the gondola, Mountain Lodge offers ski-in, ski-out access, gorgeous mountain views, and top-notch amenities like an outdoor heated pool that stays open year-round. Also on-site is the View Bar & Grill, which features a giant stone fireplace and 30-foot windows for taking in the scenery as well as comforting pub fare and a daily happy hour thatcoincides nicely with après-ski. Most accommodations are apartment-style, ranging from junior suites to luxurious four-bedroom cabins with full kitchens, fireplaces, and private balconies. Budget travelers might book a lodge room, which is smaller—there’s no sitting area or balcony—but still offers access to all the lodge’s services, like grocery shopping, equipment rentals, and shuttles to the gondola. A resort fee covers Internet but not parking, however, the $20 valet charge can be a bargain in peak season when publicspaces are hard to find."

Robert at The Mountain Lodge Telluride truly went above and beyond for us as wedding vendors! When we arrived in our large van, he was incredibly quick to assist with unloading and directing us to the reception area. We were initially concerned about parking our oversized vehicle and needing to move it, but Robert skillfully managed to secure us a fantastic spot directly across from the lobby – a huge relief and time-saver! He also made sure we got a room conveniently located near the reception space and was able to accommodate an early check-in, which was incredibly helpful for our setup schedule. Robert's proactive assistance and positive attitude made our arrival and setup so much smoother than anticipated. His exceptional service made our experience as vendors at The Mountain Lodge Telluride a truly positive one. We highly recommend him!

Beautiful location, but the service and experience at Mountain Lodge were far below expectations for the price. I stayed in a one-bedroom Deluxe suite unit where the bed collapsed in the middle of the first night—it had been propped up on flimsy plastic risers, and I had to fix it myself. It felt like the furniture had been hastily replaced with low-quality alternatives, which was surprising for a property of this caliber as other items including the oven and refrigerator where broken or damaged. Valet parking is required, and unfortunately, my car was scratched during the process. Basic requests were also an issue. I wasn’t able to get clean towels or even laundry detergent to wash the provided towels myself with the in unit washer/dryer. I ended up having to leave the property to buy detergent elsewhere. When I brought this up to the front desk, the woman working at the time chose to fix her hair and makeup while my concerns were being addressed. It felt like a bit disrespectful like my concerns were not valid. There’s no denying the views and location are great, but the lack of professionalism and attention to basic guest needs really ruined the experience.

Not a great experience. Last minute booking for us as we decided to stay in Telluride instead of Ouray. Booked directly through their website. Website clearly states no hidden fees, and the sign out front and website says $39 valet AVAILABLE but this is MANDATORY. Not a dealbreaker, but I mentioned to them their website did not explain this. |Website also states easy cancellation, but email after booking said absolutely no cancellations, but this may have been due to me booking same-day. ||I booked this location specially because it had an onsite restaurant and pool, which we learned were closed as soon as we arrived due to a wedding (again, not mentioned on website). ||Had to walk down the hill to our building with our luggage. Valet kid said “oh you have a great view of the mountains down there”. First floor view of mountain was nearly completely blocked by trees.||There is no AC! I don’t believe this was listed on their website either. No screen on balcony doors, so could not keep those open overnight.||The “tiny rooms” do not have king size beds so we were forced to book a king size suite, which we never would’ve done for one night. Rooms need upgrades (peeling paint). No body wash in room, just a tiny hand soap.||Got out the iron to press a pair of white/red pants to go to dinner. The last person who used it obviously burned something on it and it wasn’t cleaned, so it ruined my pants. ||Management seemingly reluctantly gave us a discount, but didn’t really bother to apologize for the inconvenience. Should’ve booked elsewhere or an AirBnb…the cost would’ve been the same.

We had a great spring break in Telluride - it never disappoints! This was our first time staying at Mountain Lodge Telluride. I wanted to shout out to a few people who made our stay extra pleasant. Brian made great coffee and treated us with a smile each morning! Levi was quick with the shuttle, golden nuggets of advice, and humor! I didn't get everyone's name, but the golf cart drivers saved the day by taking us to and from our room when the road was icy! Everyone was kind and helpful - thanks!

We had an incredible experience planning our wedding at the Mountain Lodge Telluride, and it's all thanks to the exceptional service from the entire team, especially Sam Barnes. I want to take a moment to highlight the amazing support Sam and his team provided throughout this journey. From our first interaction, Sam was the epitome of professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine dedication to our needs. Every communication was polite, efficient, and reassuring, demonstrating that customer satisfaction is his utmost priority. I truly appreciated his prompt responses to our questions and the seamless way he coordinated every detail. It's rare to find such consistently high standards of service, and we are genuinely inspired by it. Thank you for making the planning process not just seamless, but enjoyable. We will wholeheartedly recommend the Mountain Lodge Telluride—and Sam in particular—to others! Yeney & Harvey

Google
Perfect location for accessing mountain village and telluride. Good food at the view, private peaceful room overlooking a babbling brook to lull you to sleep at night. Rooms were clean cozy and rustic with the upscale timber lodge aesthetic.

For being as expensive as this place is, you would hope they would be transparent about events going on that impact your stay. There was a car show/rally that stayed here and took up all the parking and made for an extremely uncomfortable/stressful situation of being stuck because they decided to work on car maintenance in the only turn around area of a dead end. We were directed to park (for free at least) at the gondola station. Which we were not aware of at the time of booking that they were closed for routine maintenance. Which is partially on us for not doing research but also could have been made more clear on the website along with the fact that their restaurant is also closed during this time. We were told someone would pick us up from the gondala station and then ended up having to walk through the dark woods back to the lodge because they were only available until 730 to pick up apparently as their front desk ALSO closes for the off season 7pm-7am. Additionally there was a kids lacrosse event going on we were greeted at our door with kids playing lacrosse in the hall. Running up and down the hall all night/hitting walls. Very disappointed in this stay for how much it was. I’m literally writing this review as I’m hearing parents yell at their kids in the hall. * editing to add that it looks like the owner sees these reviews. Apologizes. But does nothing to compensate families for their terrible experiences here so must not be that sorry. I get that we can’t let everyone stay here for free but come on. If you truly wanted people to “give you another chance” maybe you would incentivize that to earn trust back.

For the price and location this felt very outdated and unprepared. We went for a wedding and it was the first day of their "open" season. The restaurant, parking, and staff all seemed confused. The valet system is terrible, the rooms outlets didnt work, they put everyone in separate buildings for the wedding, and we had no view. You also couldn't charge things to the room it all had to be paid when you ordered carry out. Everything closes at 9- including the bar. For the money I would not stay again, there was also construction going on that delayed moving of vehicles and driving in general.

Yelp
The views at Mountain Lodge are spectacular. This is the most beautiful place in Colorado. We came for a wedding, so we were able to enjoy the lodging, and the event side of the lodge. I love this property but it's overpriced for what you get and the rooms are definitely dated. They need to update the step in tubs and get rid of all of them and do walk-in showers. The room was so expensive and soooo tiny. The bed sagged and was not comfortable for two people. The worst part is the mandatory valet parking. You have no choice but to leave your car. That wouldn't normally be a problem, but since this property is built on the side of a mountain, all of the rooms are down the hill from check-in. They require you to use the Bellman, which I was grateful for, but it was a hassle when you just needed to grab one more thing out of your car, it took 20 minutes for them to bring your car back around. This was also a burden for my senior citizen mother who is having a really hard time walking up the hill, not only because of the steepness, but because of the high elevation. They really need to have golf carts to shuttle people up and down through the corridor of the property. It took forever to get our car anytime we needed it. I understand that parking is limited, but they should make special concessions when someone has a handicap, they should allow you to have your car parked at your building. For the positives, we enjoyed breakfast and a plated dinner for a wedding reception. The food was absolutely fantastic at both meals! For the wedding dinner, we had mashed potatoes and chicken, and the mashed potatoes tasted just like grandmas, perfectly seasoned, and so incredibly smooth. Hats off to the chef at the lodge! They also provide a complementary shuttle to the gondola which was much appreciated. I would stay here again, but I would definitely consider other properties until they renovate and update and get new beds!

Yelp
money was stolen by house keeping and after going to front desk numerous times and receiving no action my condo mates were very disappointed with no action.

Dinorah J.

Yelp
Front services staff is distasteful and incompetent. The hotel is rundown and dirty, definitely needs maintenance. The only positive aspect is the location. There is no management according to rude staff. Please reconsider wasting your money here.

sally f.

Yelp
This hotel has the WORST customer service. Unethical and irresponsible! Never ever stay here! They failed to respond to repeated calls and emails to get my items returned. Basically someone stole them out of my room or lost and found and no one took responsibility. The front desk is unfriendly. . There is no hotel lounge and they hold massive parties poolside without alerting the hotel guests. This place sucks!!!!

Yelp
This was a good place to stay in Mountain Village. Looking at it, it literally looks like the name....a true mountain lodge, how rustic and nice! The property is gorgeous.....dark and cozy lobby with an attached restaurant/dining area and pool and hot tub right out front (with breathtaking views of the mountains!!). There's a couple of buildings with rooms and we were down the hill for a few days, something I typically dont mind but woof, that little walk up the hill tested my lungs each time I walked up! Pros Location Free shuttle to Blue Mesa and the gondola Gorgeous views from the property, we even saw a couple of weddings when we were there! Lovely pool area with umbrellas aplenty Nice smelling lotion, shampoo, soaps and they even provide epsom bath salts! Friendly staff Windows you can open so you can let in that fresh mountain air! Cons Paper thin walls. We heard EVERYTHING from the room next to us, I swear there was a party going on every night Thermostat is ridiculously bright. If you're someone who is distracted by light when you sleep be sure to bring a mask Water never got really hot, lukewarm with a hint of hot at the beginning that quickly faded away All in all a good place to stay but just know these things before going.

Yelp
I booked a 4 night night stay at this mountain jewel to visit my husband who was working in Telluride this summer helping his brother who is a building contractor on the Sunnyside Housing Project. He has been gone since June and telling me what a slice of heaven Telluride is so I packed up our two pups and made the 10-ish hour drive up to check it out myself! The property is truly lovely and the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. What I loved right from the start is they really are pet friendly. I mean there were pets everywhere (but not in an obnoxious sort of way.) The parking is limited so they had us valet our vehicle (20 per day) and it is a bit chaotic on weekends when folks seem to be checking in/out but we were able to pull down and unload, etc. We were in room 4118 which was a second floor one bedroom at the bottom of the little hill. Our room was very nice, comfortable and had a rustic/mountain vibe with a full kitchen. What I loved the most was there is this meadow (I guess it is a ski slope in the winter) on the backside of our building where we took our two pups out several times a day to run, play and take care of their business and they loved it! Housekeeping checked in on us and made sure we had whatever we needed. There is a market up at the top of the hill within walking distance of the lodge where you can get groceries. There is also a little coffee/burrito/taco place that is open M-F limited hours that serves up really good food. You can take the FREE gondola (with your dogs!) down a short ride to the mountain village where there are more restaurants AND you can take it even farther by transferring to another gondola to take it all the way down into Telluride where there are shops and restaurants. I think some of the folks we ran into here live here? I am guessing you can buy into this place and it may be some sort of timeshare. Overall we were incredibly comfortable and really enjoyed our stay here and I would absolutely stay again.

Casey D.

Yelp
We stayed here a whole week beautiful location staff is friendly breakfast and lunch or amazing. Can't say enough manager is outstanding. Vu is spectacular. Now to the downside. Bed is beyond horrible. Dishes were dirty in the dishwasher. Housekeeping only does a percentage of cleanliness. And in my opinion, I think you should have a choice to valet or not to valet. But the number one thing is if they look at this I would honestly tell them to upgrade the beds because they are the worst beds I've ever stayed in other than that for stars. Also, when traveling to this hotel, you might experience altitude sickness. Differently make sure you bring oxygen drink plenty of water. This would've helped us a lot if we knew before we came.

Cory M.

Yelp
I would stay somewhere else if you are travelling to Telluride. I arrived for a one-night stay which for the most basic room was $422 per night. This lodge should not be more than $150. We were travelling and had numerous bags. Upon arrival we were required to valet our vehicle and parking is NOT available which the website claims it is. We had thousands of dollars in equipment in our vehicle. After carting all of our baggage to our room from the street we find that our blinds were inoperable which made it impossible to shut them allowing no privacy even after contacting the front desk. This place does NOT have AC which in summer is not acceptable. The TV was unable to connect to WIFI for access to programs. The next day as we were leaving we prepared our bags only to find that VALET had a 1 hour wait to get to us. After waiting over an hour and trying to call the desk 7 or so times we finally reached the front desk agent who told us our vehicle had been parked in front of the hotel in Valet and we could come get it if we wanted to but it would be an unknown amount time to tell us when a bellman could come get our bags. If you didn't know this town is in the mountains. My wife and I dragged all of our bags up a giant hill "mountain", and since we could not drive a vehicle near our hotel room because of gates we were required to carry all 8+ bags and coolers we had all the way up the hill to the front desk area to check out and load them in our vehicle. All of this could have been avoided by just having normal parking available but still recommending valet for the people who require it. Lastly Booking.com lists $23 in resort fees but the total for our fees were $53 because you are also required to pay for Valet which is the only way you can park. The details on this hotel say that parking is available but that is ONLY through VALET and is the ONLY option they allow. They do not even allow valet to park your vehicle near your room so you can access it throughout your stay. All in all, I could stomach a $422 a night stay if things went well but this was an embarrassment for this establishment.

Yelp
Just got back home from a road trip. Stayed at Mountain Lodge Telluride for 2 days. Stayed at different locations thru out Colorado and this location was the worst. Pros: Beautiful location. Accessible free Gondola. Market is next to the Gondola facility. Pool and jacuzzi. Cons: No AC!!! Only a fan was provided. Room was hot. Now every time I book a room, I am going to make sure it comes with an AC. Bed was stiff. Walls are thin. Every other place I stayed, 4 pillows was standard. This place only provides 2 and I requested for 2 more and was given 1 more only. For the price, I expected better.

Megan J.

Yelp
A wonderful three days at Mountain Lodge in Telluride. The condos are a steep price to rent, but the staff delivers excellent hospitality. They are knowledgeable with recommendations. Valet parking was easy and there was never much of a wait. The location is perfect with lots of amenities within the village and a quick ride to downtown. Condo was clean and the resort is very pet friendly. I would recommend Mountain Lodge to anyone staying in Telluride.

Rachel P.

Yelp
Wow. Where do I start without writing a novel? THEY DROPPED 8-10 WOODEN CHAIRS ON MY SISTERS HEAD AND GAVE HER A SERIOUS CONCUSSION. Didn't call the paramedics. She was given a dirty mop rag for ice. When we woke up the next morning the water was dirty. This was not the only guest hurt. Another guest eating in their restaurant had a chair collapse under them. They ended up with bruises all over their legs. The venue is falling apart. When we got there the cabin was filthy. It smelled of dust and had bodily fluid all over the walls in the bathroom. The staff was rude. One even hung up on my sister after they gave her a concussion when she asked for a bell hop to help with bags. The food was a mess as they have a new chef and wouldn't let us do a second tasting. My husband is a chef and the food was the most important thing. They served the wrong appetizers and the beef was without exaggeration the driest piece of meat I've ever had. I couldn't even swallow it. I have more to say, but the gist is they are not a venue I would recommend. They forgave the rest of our alcohol bill as a sign of good faith so I'll mention that but there is no way 68 people drank $7.5k worth of alcohol in 6 hours. That would be 11 drinks+ per person so we believe they padded the bill. It took them almost two weeks to send a bill or even address the issues. I was told my wedding would be a "training experience" for their team. My wedding was ruined and I have nothing positive to say about this establishment.

Yelp
We just got back from a week vacation at Mountain Lodge Telluride and we were absolutely blown away. The convenience of ski in ski out was incredible as well as the endless views of the San Juan mountains and close location to the Village and Village market. After skiing all day soaking in the hot tubs was absolutely perfect. I can't thank Michelle Noyes enough for helping us book this trip, SHE IS A GEM and was without question responsible for the greatest trip our Family has ever been on, we will be back next year for sure.

Joe A.

Yelp
It's all about the convenience here. True ski-in and ski-out just 50 yards from the boot and ski valet. We hit the hot tub every evening and took a shower in the lockers and went back to our wonderful 2 bedroom condo refreshed. The on-site View restaurant was very good. Shuttle service was excellent and drivers were friendly. They'll take you to the market and gondola where you have access to downtown Telluride and the ski village. It's all free besides gratuity to the drivers. So you don't really need a car unless you plan on going to sites in the surround long area. Rooms were tastefully decorated in modern mountain decor with all amenities. Only complaint is no in-suite washers and dryers. They have a communal mini-laundromat. Would stay here again!

Lee W.

Yelp
I stayed here recently and do not recommend because of the management. The rooms were clean and staff was mostly pleasant, but the management was horrible. They have this inane valet policy where you leave your car & keys at the front desk, then hike down the hill to your room, carrying children, groceries, etc. The valet then passes you in your car and parks it next to your building. I attended a wedding, and, while the setting was beautiful, the manager and the inane valet system were absolutely incompetent. The bride and groom, and all the guests, were left standing around because the management "lost" everyone's cars. The photographer was begging them to find her car, as she was losing the light and missing the opportunity to take once in a lifetime photos. The manager's response: he was belligerent and rude to the guests. When everyone discovered that the "lost" cars were parked at the free public parking lot next door and asked for their keys, the manager refused. He forced us to wait while he walked over and got one car at a time. He never apologized, and refused to even take off a single day of the exorbitant valet fee until we demanded it at checkout. I don't recommend this hotel.

Benay K.

Yelp
First and foremost-PET FRIENDLY! Stayed here for 3 days and thought the room was beautiful, and the area was very nice. My room was on a corner, downstairs and the back doors opened up to a lovely little stream. There were two chairs and a table to sit at and relax. Unfortunately-the cleaners do not clean up the patio area and there was trash that was thrown about by past guests (who does that??), that kinda ruined it a bit. Pros: Nice well stocked full kitchen with beautiful granite counter tops, a full sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove and oven. As soon as I arrived, everything did look clean-but because of the covid, I took all the dishes, pots, utensils glasses etc that I thought I would use and threw them into the dishwasher to 'extra' sanitize them. Beautiful cabin type room-well appointed with fireplace (double sided), couch, chairs, kitchen seating area Walking distance to nice grocery store with high-but not insanely high prices Free gondolas that takes you all over the town- and they are pet friendly-you can take your dog on them Nice walking areas to take your dog for hikes Mostly friendly staff (there were a couple not so much-but overall-most were nice) Cons Parking is insane- really hard-and their valet leaves a bit to be desired- Walls are paper thin-you can hear the entire conversation of the neighbors easily Bathtub and toilet both backed up on last night. Could not get anyone in to fix them-thankfully had a friend there as well, so I could use their bathroom. Tub was ok for showers-but did not look cleaned enough for me to ever think of using it for a soak

Caressa G.

Yelp
What a fabulous trip! We went off season, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The room was incredible, well stocked, (even bath salts for the deep bathtub), and comfortable beds! We were greeted by Colleen who helped us with everything that we needed and made our stay feel special! 100% will be back & recommend to friends!

Chase A.

Yelp
Worst customer service experience in my life. Was planning to have an amazing trip for my wife's 36th birthday, as well as a belated spring break vacation with our two boys. I booked the room about 3 weeks ago for a single night, as we booked an airbnb at the same location for the rest of our stay (couldn't get one room for the entire duration of our stay). We had an unexpected family emergency happen the weekend before our booking (which is this coming Wednesday April 3rd), as our son fractured his leg at school, and is now in a cast. Called the hotel the same day we got the news about our son (yesterday), thinking that every other hotel I have been to easily accommodates a cancellation that is provided more than 24 hours notice. Not here at Mountain Village apparently, I had the "pleasure" of speaking to Michelle at the Mountain Lodge. Never in my life, have I been so quickly dismissed at a family medical emergency, been shown ZERO empathy or care for the situation that is costing us a trip that we were so excited to take. I was told I could possibly move our visit back 4 days (as if my sons cast will be off by then smh). Michelle simply was the worst possible customer service representative I could have ever spoken to about this situation. If you want a lesson on how to mistreat customers, forfeit future business, and treat your customers with an expert level of arrogance and condescension, look no further than Mountain Lodge in Telluride, they are the spot to experience all of that!

Manfred S.

Yelp
Telluride is beautiful. The mountain lodge is nice. Unfortunately, we probably got the worst room on the property. Our room was next to the laundry which could be heard almost all night as no one seemed to observe operating hours. It was also across from the elevator. Other guests had loud discussions in front of the elevator. Avoid a ground level room!

Chris C.

Yelp
Not a bad place to stay overall in terms of location - located along Double Cabin run it's a few steps from the condo buildings to the slopes, where you can ski a short way down to lifts #1 or #10. To get to the gondola it's a 4 min walk on a footpath or you can take the hotel shuttle. The base village is a short gondola ride away, and if going to Telluride you transfer to the main gondola at base village - from there you'll ride all the way up the mountain and then down to the town. The accommodation however has flaws. We stayed here for a week in a small two bedroom condo with balcony (some units in same building are larger) on the 3rd floor in the San Sophia building with elevator and small lobby. Unit has high ceilings, as the second bedroom is a loft with no windows other than two wall cutouts above the living room - not much privacy or noise insulation. The master bedroom and bathroom are much nicer than the loft, as the latter has two narrow twin beds and very little space to move around, including the very tiny bathroom - hardly room to turn around without banging on the glass shower doors. Small kitchen space, crowded when more than one using it. In short, this is a unit ok for a family with 1-2 small children but tight for 4 unrelated adults. At least everything in the condo functioned ok - gas fireplace, aircon and good WiFi. Main Lodge has a restaurant on site which is convenient, although there isn't a lot of public space to hang out. There is a pool and hot tub but the "pool" with lukewarm water is no larger than the hot tub which is small and oddly shaped - a narrow triangle and can barely hold 8 comfortably - they should turn the pool into a hot tub too since no one ever uses it. This is probably the most unsatisfactory hot tub I'd ever seen. There is another tiny prefab tub but water is not as hot and jets much weaker. To get to the hot tub it's a hike up the hill in the cold (the bathrobes supplied in room are helpful), or make use of the gym (with all of 3 machines) changing room (locker key will require a $25 deposit). Ski storage - in room, on outdoor racks or in lockers located in each condo building. To get either outdoor rack key or locker key will require a deposit of $25. Indoor lockers seem to be harder to come by - either none are free or the keys are missing. Note also that on checking in the Lodge will preauthorize a hold on your credit card at $75/day.

Yelp
My family and I just stayed here. They were really nice. However, this place was very expensive for the quality of the rooms. The cleaning staff was also pretty MIA unless you let them wake you up super early. I prefer staying in town and not in mountain village, but overall would say this is a "good" place to stay.

Susan S.

Yelp
You can't tell me that when I was booking our stay in Telluride at The Mountain Lodge that they didn't know they'd be doing MAJOR ROOF REPLACEMENT while we were here! All we could hear was BANGING, CRASHING AND HAMMERING non stop for days! Oh but of course, they charged us the full rate! We were totally inconvenienced by the walkways being blocked and doors being propped open (nice security!) caution tape everywhere- ridiculous! Also we had the ugliest view of the construction site, constantly heard workers yelling, talking banging, clanging, all right under our balcony. Our unit had crappy furniture- the water barely trickled out of the bathroom faucet. Towels felt like cardboard! Jets in the bathtub (that they brag about having) didn't work, part of the swimming pool was always closed....and as I already stated, they of course, charged us the full rate! Absolutely a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT - do not stay here! Will never be back.

Jack S.

Yelp
I could have given this hotel 3-4 stars, but the greed of the owners just disgusts me. The good: we had a junior suite and it was nice - not great, just nice. Furniture was comfortable and the bed was good. They are pet friendly. The bad: parking is inadequate. Why anyone would build a facility with inadequate parking perplexes me. To add insult to injury, you must pay $20 per night for parking - if no spaces are available they will provide valet parking at the same price. Yes, they are pet friendly, but you will pay $50 per night - capped at $150. So. I paid $1,875 for a room for 4 days plus another $230 in fees. All of the people we interfaced with were great. My issue is specifically with the management.

Souzana V.

Yelp
This lodge was nice. Rented a 1 bedroom for 2 nights and 1 day. The staff is very nice. The only complaint is that they have no AC. Open windows for cooling. Their location is beautiful and easy to get to the free gondola. The gondola is basically your source of public transportation when you're here, but it's a beautiful ride on it and very short and convenient. Love this town. If you entered telluride from Ridgway, please do the San Juan scenic byway to the million dollar highway. Beautiful and breathtaking views and worth it! Continue on the scenic route when you leave here.

Cleared D.

Yelp
I recently booked two nights here. It is a beautiful place. Come to find out there is no hot water. They did not bother to tell me this when I checked in. I find out the next morning when I go to take a shower. This seems a little odd. Why wouldn't you say something ahead of time ? I do not agree with this policy.

Cathy H.

Yelp
Wow is Telluride gorgeous! We loved staying at the Mountain Lodge too as the location right next to the gondola and the grocery store is super convenient. Judging by the photos, updates have been made to the rooms over time. Our room was clean, in good repair, well-appointed, and spacious. The floors were are tile or hardwoods, no carpet. The kitchen has everything you could need if you plan to cook, if not, there is a restaurant/bar on site. We also loved that it's pet-friendly and ski-in/ski-out. Our ground floor room couldn't have been more convenient.

Yelp
We were here for a wedding. First the positive- the location is beautiful- you pay for location NOT quality. The proximity to the gondola is perfect and views galore. I had no trouble with the staff. Parking is tough- we used the valet for the weekend. Now the room- we had a jr suite w a great balcony (we weren't facing the parking lot so that was super nice) the room was dirty. The furniture was very worn. Not comfy worn- but gross old worn out. I'm attaching pictures of the dirty tub and bath mat- the mat is in front of the sink- super gross. The drawer in the built in dresser wouldn't close. I didn't take a picture of the broken blind- it only went 1/2 way down. See the pic of the worn 'leather' couch and chair w flat cushion. All the chipped old oak furniture I didnt bother to photograph- just know it's matches everything else. The beds were as old as the furniture- we did use the pull out for the kids- if it is indeed temperpedic as advertised- it's past it's replacement date. The big bed slopes in the middle - so we rolled together all night. When I called to get fresh towels, i was told they don't clean the rooms because of covid- uh.. ok.. they did eventually bring towels. If you are looking for a pretty view and want to spend a lot- this works- but when we go back we will for sure look around. I cant see how anyone would say the rooms are nice or worth the money.

Yelp
Every comfort of home with an incredible view! We'll stocked kitchen, (subzero fridge, dishwasher, blender, cutting board, nice knives, etc.) comfortable furniture & beds. Even games and puzzles in the rooms. Bathrobes & bath salts with a nice deep tub! We were initially greeted by Colleen, who made us feel welcome and helped us with everything we needed. Will definitely recommend and be back!

Yelp
WEDDING VENUE REVIEW - We hosted our wedding at the Mountain Lodge - so this review is pertaining to the Mountain Lodge as a wedding venue, but it also served as a great hotel for our guests to stay. If you are lucky enough to consider the Mountain Lodge as your wedding venue, then you should 100% plan your wedding there. Our wedding had ~110 guests, and the Mountain Lodge was able to accommodate our guest count perfectly. We had a seated dinner, with 30 guests seated outside, and the rest inside. The venue itself, the views, the staff, and the food were all incredible. The staff at Mountain Lodge went above and beyond every expectation we had. Sam and Kaitlyn (who are the main wedding / event coordinators) were amazing to work with, and made the whole experience for us. We exchanged countless emails/text messages, and were able to meet with them in person multiple times for tastings and planning sessions. They did everything they possibly could to meet our wants/needs for our wedding day. They went out of their way to bring in specific alcohol we requested, allowed us to add lighting to the pool deck and decorate the pool with flowers, and basically accommodated every request we had. They were always quick to respond to our countless questions, professional, extremely patient, and fun to work with every step of the way. They were also always willing to get creative with us to make sure that our desires were met without exceeding our budget. With the rapidly evolving COVID situation, they always stayed positive and kept us informed about whatever changes were happening in the county. On our wedding day, the staff at Mountain Lodge made us feel like royalty, and all of our guests could not have had a better time. There was never a line at the bar, or an empty drink, and the staff converted the outdoor dinner party to a dance floor seamlessly. The food was delicious, and they were even able to accommodate food allergies/intolerances for our wedding guests. Lastly the views - the views just speak for themselves. It was incredible to eat dinner outside just soaking in the beauty of the San Juans, and all of our guests inside were in awe of their dinner views as well. Additionally, many of our guests stayed at the hotel, and all were very happy with their accommodations. It was also very nice for them to be able to run to their rooms if they forgot something. All in all, the Mountain Lodge is an incredible place to get married and I would do it all over again if I could. They did everything in their power to create and execute our dream wedding day, and we couldn't recommend this venue more!

Yelp
Definitely a 5 Star experience even in the off season. We were greeted by Colleen who was very welcoming, and continued to help us with everything that we needed the whole stay. The room was comfortable and had everything that we needed. The bathtub was amazing (the bath salts were great!) the view is breathtaking. We would definitely recommend and will be back!!

Yelp
Do not waste your money. The concierge was very helpful upon check-in and the main lodge and a scenery are beautiful. That's where the positive comments end. We entered our room where the heat was on and it was freezing cold. It's dated, the bath and shower have paint all over them, the room is tiny, and the mattress had big dips. We chose this hotel because of the on-site bar, restaurant and jacuzzi. We were told the restaurant was closed for breakfast and lunch but that it would open for dinner. At 9:00, after trying to use the tepid jacuzzi, we learned it was closed and had to scramble to find anything open (we found a nice restaurant in Telluride that was almost closed but offered bread and dessert). We tried to talk to the front desk but no one was there for 10 minutes. But.... The owner was. He heard our concerns and said a seemingly insincere sorry, then we watched as he proceeded to enter his comfy room without trying to make anything right or as advertised. If we'd paid 200 dollars, or they at least seemed somewhat empathetic we could have dealt with it but this was NOT worth the $500 to stay in our dated, cold, uncomfortable room. Give your hard-earned money to someone who cares about their customers. The owners here clearly don't.

Yelp
Stayed here for our honeymoon and had a great time. The room was very nice and the location to everything in mountain village as well as the lift to Telluride was perfect. Our only issue was the noise of both our neighbors and the people above us. Maybe they were being extra loud or maybe the walls were just thin. That and we had scheduled our days and planned out everything down to when we were going to swim. But they kept closing the pool for private events so we did not get to experience that. But the hot springs in Ourray were a good supplement. Staff was amazing!

Yelp
For the price the service should be completely different. One star for location. Our fire alarm batteries were all out and going off when we first got to our room, half of the stove didn't work, the sink water was extremely milky. Considering the smoke detectors we're going off I can't even say when the room was last cleaned. Not a luxury feel and for the price you'd expect a lot more. We also came with a large group and they told us we couldn't valet our cars or park in front of our rooms... fine for parking whatever but then wouldn't even let our car through the gate to drop off our luggage.

Yelp
Let me start with the positive: - It's located in the most beautiful area of the U.S., the views from our room was amazing!! Where there is room for improvement: - There isn't any parking/parking is super limited! We were pulling a small trailer and the front desk guy acted like it was the end of the world, them tried to charge me $125 to park. No. - The overall attitude of the place is a little uppity. - The bathtub wasn't clean upon arrival (there were unwanted hairs ). - The heat didn't work in our room... it only kicked on when you set the thermostat to 85, then it would heat the room to 85. For the price, it's not worth it! Probably won't be staying at Mountain Lodge again. .

Yelp
My BF and I like to stay here on weekend get-a-ways! Everybody here is very accommodating and kind. We love the convenience and location and always have a fantastic time!!

Yelp
One of my favorite hotels ever. The mountain views are only beat by the friendly, accommodating staff and a delicious food and drink menu. The Detox Retox is an exceptional cocktail. Thanks Mountain Lodge! I'll be back soon.

Yelp
very dated, many things didn't work. the shower water pressure was very poor. Front desk promised they would look at it, never showed up despite 2 requests. Too expensive for the old rooms

Yelp
This lodge was absolutely incredible. We visited for our anniversary and the accomedations could not have been more perfect. The gondola was super close in addition to the grocery store and an awesome sports rental store. We will absolutely be coming back and will be bringing the kiddos. Thank you for an incredible weekend and for the top tier customer service.

Yelp
It's been one of the best Thanksgivings I've personally ever had and thanks to this place my new wife and I had the best time! The hot tubs after a day of skiing were incredible! Also shout out to Haley who is the sweetest and friendliest bartender ever. She made great drinks but also helped us with tons of knowledge and local tips. Also thanks to Bryce who helped us with getting to our room and delivering things to the room when we needed them. We had a great time overall! Thanks from the newlyweds in tiny room 4110!!

Yelp
From the moment we checked in, we knew we had found a gem. We booked a Junior Suite room and could not have expected anything better. The kitchen was spotless with every necessary appliance to make meals, and the room felt like our own personal mountain lodge for the duration of our stay. We enjoyed it so much that we called the front desk to extend our stay and spoke with Mike Ialeggio. We had mentioned we were newly engaged, and not only did he extend our stay, he surprised us with a handwritten note and bottle of wine in our refrigerator. The staff have been nothing but fantastic since check-in, and we know we will be back for more memorable trips. Thank you Mountain Lodge Telluride for making our engagement that much more memorable. Yelp
The accommodations were wonderful. Friendly staff. I loved our room. We had a king-sized bed and two twins in the loft upstairs. There was also a sofa bed in the living area. We enjoyed all three televisions. The views outside our deck were stunning. I loved the high-end refrigerator in our unit as well. I will definitely be coming back for another visit.

Yelp
For the price you would expect more. I guess some of the rooms are nicer than others but I really don't know what they are spending money on because it's not in my room. We have mold in our shower. Which we called about and they said was a stain they kinda cleaned up and didn't even bother to look at the rest of the shower because there was more near the shower head and faucet. The furniture is a mixed mash of yard sale furniture that hasn't been upgraded probably since the 90's. None of it matches and it's so uncomfortable to sit on it has no support anymore because it's so old. We haven't even been able to sit on the couch the entire visit because it's so bad. The couch sitting in the hallway that no one uses is better that anything in our room. I ask for towels and the room to be cleaned. Well I got towels so one of two is good I guess. I have stayed at 100 dollar places nicer than here.

Yelp
Laptop stolen from room. Horrible communication about it. No callbacks from hospitality.

Yelp
Pros: * Every single member of the staff -- from the front desk to the drivers to the servers -- I encountered was friendly, professional, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. For example, the first time the cleaning staff tidied my room, they saw my makeup on the counter and left me extra makeup removal wipes. It was a small touch but very sweet. Whenever a staff member saw me wandering around, they asked if they could help me. I never had to wait for a shuttle to take me where I wanted to go. * The hotel is beautiful and has a cozy vibe. It's made up of several older buildings (at least 100 years old, if I recall correctly) but is well-maintained. * It's located right on one of the slopes. It's easy to ski in, ski out from here, and the hotel has places to dry your gear. * The hotel provides free, convenient shuttles to the gondola, which can get you all over town. I didn't use my car at all while staying here. I should add that I didn't experience any issues of mustiness or broken items that other reviewers here reported. Maybe that's more of an issue with particular rooms than the hotel as a whole. Room for improvement: * There is no mini fridge in the room, which disappointed me a little bit, as I had a few small groceries and snacks. It's not that big a deal, but stocked or empty, a small fridge would be nice, even if only upon request. * I wasn't pleased about the parking situation. In advance, the hotel does warn guests that parking is "VERY limited" in town, which is a massive understatement. There is NO parking past 30 minutes in Mountain Village. Your only other options would be to park somewhere on the side of the road and walk an hour to the slopes with your gear or park in Telluride and take a gondola or shuttle to the mountain. Given this, the hotel charging guests $20 a night for parking rubbed me the wrong way. In lieu of free parking, I'd have preferred the room just costing an additional $20, as the current method feels like nickel and diming. This is what knocked a star off my rating. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at the hotel. If you can get a good rate, I would recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
We booked our stay at Mountain Lodge 11 days prior to arrival. We checked the website, under their current Covid alert page it said they were happy to announce the pool was open. This was why we booked there. The morning of checkin they emailed me asking for a credit card and with lock box instructions and told me the pool would be closed. I mentioned I checked the website and it says it's opened. The woman from ML snapped at me "well, you didn't book through our site." To which I responded, no, but I was still able to look at your website and it still says it's open. She then said, "oh, yea, well we didn't update it." She was beyond rude, so it started off on a bad note. We have a 2 year old, so we requested a crib... 3 times before it actually came. They asked me the third request, "did you ever talk to anyone to ask for a crib?" YES! Of course I talked to someone, how else would I request it?! There was cigarette butts on our balcony, old wrappers behind the night stand (which I looked behind to plug in a charger), safety pins on the floor - not great for a 2 year old. Cleaners walked around the hallways without masks on, inside. Our bath was broken, I called to ask someone to fix it, but they said no one was allowed to enter our room to fix the bath. However, the guy who dropped off our crib walked right in. Another member of the staff entered our room without knocking randomly one day. He entered the wrong room by mistake but didn't apologize just walked out. Two members of the staff came in without asking, but no one could come in to fix the bath... Engineering was supposed to call me that night to troubleshoot, no one ever called. We stayed during a heat wave, no AC at ML so I called to request a fan, twice. Never showed up. We valeted our car one night at the hotel. When we tried to get it the next day I called over a course of 30 minutes. No one picked up the phone so I walked up. No one at valet or at the front desk. After a while (and other people waiting) I walked into the lodge to find there was a managers meeting. So everyone was ignoring the phone ringing off the hook as well as 7 guests outside waiting! I was charged for 4 nights of parking, instead of 1. I was told by the woman on the phone when I gave her my CC the morning of checkin that I would get a call to review charges before checkout. This never happened and I've called to ask about the charges share my issues with the hotel... but no one has answered my call yet. I've tried calling 4 times.

Yelp
No A/C. Slept with the window open and just heard people talking all night. Even with the window and blinds wide open (which ruins any bit of privacy), the room was still way too warm. TV didn't work, so I couldn't drown them out with that. Bed was uncomfortable with scratchy sheets. TV cables were dangling in front of the fireplace. Overall, not worth the price by far.

Yelp
I'm sure if you want to only ski and stay in your room, Mountain Lodge is fine. We are paying a lot of money for a disappointing lodge experience. The exercise room has one treadmill, one bike, one elliptical machine. The exercise room is tiny and the door is propped open so the lobby can see the steam room door. Like I really want an audience when I am in my swimsuit or towel, so I'm not going to use the steam room. Likewise, the pool & hot tub is outside the restaurant window. I'm going to pay more money to go to a hotel spa in mountain village, so that I can have privacy and some space to workout. I should have stayed in the village anyway, to be closer to everything. The shuttle service is nice, but It is a pain to have to get a shuttle to go to the gondola. The $20 valet for parking was a surprise too.

Yelp
Beware, Mountain lodge is comprised of private owners. One of the owners in particular that owns many units, has a tendency to rent rooms that DO NOT meet the standards and quality of the resort. The unit we rented had not been remodeled or up kept with cabinet door handles laying on the ground, place hadn't been cleaned, there was animal hair thick on the floor and furniture and there was used feminine product laying on the bathroom floor when we arrived. The management at mountain lodge was awesome but could do nothing for our $1500 stay because it is privately owned. The owner wouldn't even send a cleaning crew to make it right. We had to stay in filth for 3 nights. Unfortunately these type of owners are bringing mountain lodge down and setting a bad precedent. Definitely not a $500 per night experience. I hope they can get it under control as we have been frequenting Mountain Lodge for 12 years. Be sure if you book here you only book through mountain lodge rental pool and not through a third party site. If not, you never know what you will get. All units are not equal and the pics as shown online may not even be of the unit you get.

Yelp
Amazing! Staff is extremely well trained and very cosmopolitan! James - helped our group of 35 unload and get things to our room - even though they were all off for the night! Joe - you won't find nicer, more attentive front desk, professional-service! He's so nice and goes above and beyond to help customers. Gabriel is also the same - he's wonderful! Nico and Miko were helpful w transportation, questions... lots of questions! Neil is the manager/photographer. All the beautiful photos you see were taken by him. He met our group several times, outgoing, informative and had patience to listen to all our questions. He is an amazing manager - which trickles down to the staff. They are all so Customer Centered. Never had any issues. Beautiful ski in/out accommodations- 30 sec shuttle ride to gondola. The Mountain Lodge cannot be best if you are in groups, families or on a couple getaway!

Scott R.

Yelp
Beautiful lodge. We were upgraded to the junior suite because we came on off-peak season so there was no one really around. Gondola and Mountain Lodge center were closed so we had to head down to Telluride and Ouray to dine and sightsee. The staff was really friendly. The only thing I can see become a huge issue is parking. There is not a big parking lot to park your car. It's just a narrow road with a few spaces. I guess if it was busy, you would have to valet.
