The 13 Best Restaurants In Greenwich - London - The Infatuation

"Before being welcomed by the friendly staff at Nepali spot Mountain View, you’re greeted by the enticing scent of spices and meat cooked in the tandoor. Far more casual than the white tablecloths and leather-backed chairs suggest, Mountain View is one of those restaurants that’s perfect for any occasion, whether a romantic date night, casual dinner with friends, or a big family dinner. Expect to see couples fighting over the last lamb-stuffed momo or families doling out ladles full of Malabar fish curry rampant with coconut. A strong selection of curry house classics are on the menu, but it’s worth trying some of the chef’s specials. Think mis mas korai combining king prawns, lamb tikka, and chicken tikka in a sauce spiked with red wine. The coconut rice and garlic naan are also excellent. " - Jonathan Hatchman

Google
Busy Nepalese restaurant near Maze Hill. Service very friendly and professional. Gurkha beer always great, poppadoms were great with nice dips, lamb momo were exceptional. The chicken makhani was a very thick, creamy but spicy curry, maybe a tiny bit light on substantial meat pieces. Enjoyed the meal and all for just £33. One of the best Nepalese restaurants in Greenwich and they have a lot of competition.

Anniversary meal yesterday. Been a few times and they have never disappointed, including yesterday. Service impeccable from staff to food presentation to food. Put a congratulations banner up with balloons, and even gave us a little cake, which was really lovely of them to do. We were given a table in the corner which gave a feeling of intimacy, despite the restaurant being filled with other diners. Fully recommend. We are grateful to the staff at Mountain View for helping to make our celebrations special.

I recently visited Mountain View Restaurant in Greenwich with a group of friends, and we had an amazing dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff, especially the owner, was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We ordered a variety of dishes including Green Salad, Palak Paneer, Vegetable Naga, Paneer Makhni, Hariyo Kurilo, King Prawn Jalfrezi, and the Tandoori Chicken Sizzler. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. The combination of roti, butter naan, garlic naan, cheese naan, and peshwari naan perfectly complemented the rich curries. Each item had its own unique taste and was served hot and fresh. We also enjoyed some drinks and were pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary sweets and drinks, which was a thoughtful gesture and added a special touch to the evening. The food was excellent, the ambiance was cozy, and the service exceeded our expectations. The restaurant had a good crowd but still felt comfortable. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the presentation of dishes. I would definitely recommend Mountain View Greenwich to anyone looking for authentic, delicious food with a friendly vibe. I also took some photos of our dishes and the menu, which I’ll be sharing to give others an idea of what to expect!

I ordered a takeaway from here. I am glad I ordered directly through them instead of on their Deliveroo page. The customer service was very good. I rang in advance to ask what can be made vegan. He said just put vegan on what you order and we will make all the veg dishes vegan! Amazing. The food came quickly and was warm when delivered to my door. All the food was DELICIOUS. I often feel disappointed when I order takeout as I feel i could have made something better myself. I couldn’t make food this good. The korma was a highlight for me. Also loved the dumplings and the breads were great. My favourite touch was that they labelled each dish vegan so I knew they had took that extra care. My boyfriend loved his meat dishes and he was very impressed too. Everyone can enjoy this restaurant. They are very accommodating. We just moved here and after trying a few places are glad to have now found our local go-to takeaway! I would say how unfortunate that is for our wallet but… it isn’t expensive. I would say it is very fairly priced and that is a big factor in us intending on ordering again. I recommend this place and give 10/10.

Google
Delicious food at a reasonable price. We ate in and service was immaculate and swift. The manager briefly greeted us, and service staff were diligent, polite and patient. The atmosphere was pleasant: low-level music and some light chatter, but quiet and easy to talk.

Google
Delicious food and friendly service at a reasonable price. Starters were great - poppadoms, paneer and onion bhajis. We had a few curries for our mains and all were delicious. Really friendly service and the complimentary chocolates at the end were nice touch. Great local spot we will definitely return to when wanting a nice curry.

Yelp
Very small portions. Sauce with good flavor but very little food. 4 shrimp to tandoori prawn dish. 7 calamari rings to calamari squid dish. Shrimp were good but the calamari bland and not fresh thick batter. Location good street parking Mediocre service and requesting service charge tip. Upside not very expensive but expect to have to order many dishes for a meal.

Yelp
We had a fantastic meal here on our first night in Greenwich. Excellent service and delicious food made this a memorable evening. The Aloo Tikki Chat and the Murgh Tikka Lababdar were stand-out dishes for us. We came here as a family and everyone enjoyed their orders. Highly recommended!

Yelp
What I like most about Mountain View is that it is not in a touristy part of town. We were turned on to MV by our cab driver. We were heading to an Indian place in Greenwich and he said absolutely not. You have to go here. So thankful for his advice. The food at MV was delicious & the service was pleasant and efficient. You know that you are eating where the locals eat.

Yelp
My husband had been to London previously and this was my first trip abroad. Knowing the area offers authentic Indian food, I looked for a restaurant with great reviews in Greenwich, as we were going to spend the day there sight seeing. We were so pleased to find Mountain View! Rom, the manager, and Pravesh, our server, were attentive and provided recommendations. We dined on chicken, lamb and a vegetable dish (I'm a non meat eater) plus rice and naan. Portions were generous, reasonably priced, and delicious. They did not disappoint! Highly recommend.

Yelp
AMAZING! Came here with my boyfriend's parents when they were in London visiting, the only thing that is disappointing about this place is it's far away from where I live and where my boyfriend lives (we went as it was near the hotel his parents stayed in). When we got there for 7pm we were given a complementary sherry (always a good way to win me over free alcohol), we shared starters - the onion bhaji's were incredible - and then my boyfriends parents had a selection of smaller dishes. I am vegetarian and I had the Paneer Tikka Karai, so delicious it wasn't greasy and I loved the selection of vegetarian dishes they had and how easily identifiable they were on the menu. Even though some the desserts weren't available the staff were helpful and everything they recommended was delicious, it was also my first experience of having Irish coffee (not really being a coffee fan) it was amazing. The staff were lovely, really happy to answer any queries about the food we had and recommending dishes and wine, despite spending over 2 hours there, we never once felt rushed or that we were holding up people waiting for tables. At the end of the meal the manager came over and was chatting to us (we were trying to convince him to expand to north London or at least Wandsworth) he was very happy to accept our compliments and offered us a further drink on the house before we left. I honestly could not recommend this place enough, great staff, amazing food, despite it being across London from me over 10 miles away I will DEFINITELY be going back.

Yelp
Best thing is it was open later than anything else around the O2 or Greenwich. Items ordered were hit or miss. Probably closer to 3 stars overall but is 4 stars if it weren't for the disappointing tikka masala that was way overly sweet and seemed like could have been made with ketchup. Staff didn't rush us out at closing time which definitely leaves me error'ing to 4 instead of 3.5 stars.
