Beautiful seafood, if a little pricey.
We found some excellent dishes at this seafood restaurant and almost came for a second visit in two days until our plans got changed at the last minute. Some dishes were better than others though, which prevented this from being a better rating.
Negroni, 6/10, The cocktail itself was actually pretty good, but unfortunately the wrong ice being used meant it was quite watery towards the end.
Diet coke, 7/10, pretty standard issue coke with ice, not much more to say.
Fried lobster dumplings, 7/10, excellent fry work and the sauce they were served with gave an excellent counterpoint to the oil. If the filling had been an actual chunk of lobster they would have been much better. Also a mere 3 pieces felt a little mean.
Salt and pepper squid, 8/10, wonderfully fresh, perfect texture on the meat and the sauces paired excellently.
Roasted sea bream with vegetables, 8/10, beautiful fragrant fish on a bed of veg prepared with just the right amount of crunch. Great stuff.
Squid ink risotto, 6/10, Unfortunately this fell a little short for me. The flavour of the rice was decent, but the sauce was a bit too runny for my liking and the nuggets of red pepper and mere three prawns did little to give much heterogeneity.
Mango panacotta, 8/10, lovely and creamy with a generous amount of zingy mango on top - this went down so fast we forgot to take a photo.
In summary, some of the dishes here were thoroughly excellent while others I probably wouldn't order again. In general it seemed the chef really knows how to bring out the natural flavours of the seafood. If we do ever manage that second visit we'll be ordering the more 'ingredient-driven' dishes.
