Mousam Spice House has really good food, good prices, and fast service. This food truck was really close to where I was staying, so I had to give it a try.
I ordered butter chicken and samosas which came 2 to the order. The butter chicken came with rice. The sauce was very fragrant, nicely spiced, and it had a subtle sweetness. It was filled with cubed chicken. The chicken was a little tough, but it did not detract from the excellent flavor. The rice was light and fluffy. I like the sauce enough that I feel like I could eat it over rice, like rice and gravy.
The samosas were cooked fresh when I placed my order. These are the biggest samosas I have ever eaten. They were triangular, with round, bulging middles. The filling was well mashed (but not pureed), perfectly compacted, and very flavorful. Of note, there were not too many green peas. I’m not a fan of those, and their sparse distribution was appreciated. The dough was thin, crisp, and not greasy. It was served with a small cup of spicy sauce. Yum!
*no rating for atmosphere because I ordered to go. This is a food truck in an Exxon gas station parking lot, on Guadalupe St, just north of campus. There’s a couple of picnic tables. It’s not set up for atmosphere.
