The venue is lovely, but it’s disappointing that drinks are almost always served in paper cups, even though plenty of ceramic mugs are available are right behind the baristas at the counter. I completely understand if there are occasions when mugs run out, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here — at any time of day, I still have to request one.
Part of the joy of sitting down for coffee in a charming place like this is enjoying it properly served, in a mug, with a bit of care. Of course, paper cups make sense for takeaway orders, but for sit-in customers, it really detracts from the experience.
