The route setting this summer is absolutely tragic. V1-3 is only uninteresting jug ladders and the back area is sparse empty traverse problems in the v7-10 range.

Google
Awesome bouldering gym. Took the beginner's class and it was great. Andrew really knows his stuff and you can tell he cares a lot about the place. It's a really welcoming environment. I can't wait to get back there.

Emerald B.

Google
This is the first bouldering only gym I'd been to and it was a ton of fun! The workout area looked really nice and there was a group class taking place. The routes humbled me, but they were fun and challenging to work on. I loved the traversing section, but didn't love topping out on the structures in the center of the room. The only thing I really didn't like was that I didn't get any kind of walk through when I signed in - but I also didn't ask for one, so that's on me.

Google
Normally, very cool spot but lately it's been ~70% comp routes. Hopefully not the new norm or a byproduct of Movement not adequately compensating its (very uniquely talented) setters

Google
Great bouldering gym. No top rope. Lots of yoga classes and a good workout area. Very nice climbing.

Andreas L.

Google
Great bouldering facility! It caters well to all ages, offering some neat smaller top out boulders in the front and a large selection of walls in the back. Awesome workout facility closed off from the rest of the gym to keep chalk out. They have both a moon board tension board and adjustable back fill. Ample warm up space. And to top it off the route setting is top notch! They did an awesome job of diversifying the space and I enjoyed the comp style circuit that was set up. If I lived in Denver this would be my home gym for sure. On top of the great climbing they are attached to a brewery which is a great place to end a session or get some work done!

Google
This gym is great! The less than 5 star reviews touching on the value for what you get IMO feel very inaccurate. If you are joining to only climb, and only go a handful if times a month, then you simply arent maxing out your membership benefits and thats on you. I appreciate that this gym is super open and relaxed, and the staff is super friendly, not stuffy or intimidating. My partner and i have been members for a fee months now and we both feel this membership is a great value. Yes this is primarily (obviously) a climbing gym but its not JUST a climbing gym. You also have access to their numerous yoga classes, fitness classes, and standard fitness/ workout rooms and equipment. Its honestly a great value when you compare to standard gym memberships. You also are able to use other locations and invite guests. The rino location is the largest bouldering space in the state, and is also connected to Improper city which is a cool social space. I take yoga classes here regularly, use the fitness spaces for cardio and lifting regularly, and just took my first bouldering class to get into climbing. Point being- even if you font climb (at a climbing gym) this membership is still valuable. And its a great way to meet new people! If people are spending money on a membership to only use it like once a week, then maybe dont get a membership and then complain about not using it as well as you could. But thats just me.

Google
When we visit Denver, the place to climb is the Movement chain of gyms. I’ve climbed at all their locations and this is just as great as the rest. There’s a good quality product on the wall here and the staff is very friendly. The facility is clean and well kept. It is bouldering only but if you are a rope climber don’t worry, there are nice long traverse routes of all grades that are worth doing. Shorter top out boulders are fun and worth doing. There are good training facilities and cardio equipment. It’s the complete picture. Some reviewers complain of the non strict grades (they grade the boulders with a range, e.g. V0-V2), but so what? It’s just plastic on the wall so get used to it, get on the boulders and have a good time. All the boulders I did were well constructed and had a theme to them. There was a good vibe from climbers of many different levels (VB all the way to V-double digit) when I visited.

Yelp
First bouldering gym in Denver, and first time climbing in four years! Felt so good to be back, and the wonderful staff made it even better. The Movement website makes it super easy to fill out waivers and buy passes so no time is wasted upon arrival. Street parking can be a challenge, but at worse you'll have to walk a block or two. There's already so much to see when you walk in--merch, announcement boards, workout rooms, tables where people are on WiFi taking work calls. It's a whole vibe. Love the community culture. Placards with color codes show climbing route difficulty. There's something approachable for everyone. Plenty of spaces to stretch and warm-up or try a variety of climbing terrains, whether "up and over" or inside the cave. I get intimidated easily by new gyms, but something about Movement RiNo put me at ease. It felt like home. Glad I got a 7-visit pass, which breaks down to $21-22 per visit. Good motivation to come a few times and bring friends since those passes can be used for guests too! And don't forget to stop by Improper City next door for a post-climb beer or coffee.

Yelp
Brought my son to Movement RiNo while vacationing in Denver and I'm so glad I did. He had so much fun bouldering here. Filling out the waiver and checking in with Joe was a breeze. A day pass and shoe rental was $26. I promise you that you won't be disappointed ... Wishing Movement RiNo continued success in 2022!!

Yelp
Obviously bouldering is dumb and we would all rather be several pitches up a gnarly route. But, this is probably the best bouldering gym I've seen in my life. Tons of board space in all varieties, huge regular gym, tons of fun features. Even a hater like me got a great work out. Stop at river north brewing afterwards for a full Colorado experience

Yelp
We came on a recommendation from bouldering friends to kill some time and work up an appetite for brunch. Movement RiNo offers some easy beginner paths and challenges the more experienced climbers. As first timers, you fill out a waiver through their tablet or on your phone. Keep your ID with you as they'll need to confirm with your waiver. It ended up being $24/person and if you need to rent climbing shoes, that'll be an extra charge. For shoes, you'll want them to fit tightly for optimal climbing! Everything is color coded with a difficulty ranking. If it's your first time climbing, you'll want to stick with the greys and greens. The goal is to only use one color for both your hands and feet. Routes will either let you climb over or you'll have to climb back down. There are also cave-like routes, leaving climbers hanging upside-down sometimes. We had a great time just trying our best to beat each other's progress. It's a lot easier if you go with others who can help spot you and tell you where the next foothold is.

Yelp
Great gym location! The staff members are very friendly, and I enjoy climbing here during the week. Parking can be hit or miss with street parking, but otherwise the gym is a great place to climb and meet other climbers in the area.

Yelp
I'm writing this from a guest point of view as I haven't been climbing here yet. Went with my husband who normally climbs here and brought our daughter to their childcare. Childcare is $5/hr and first come first serve basis. Their check-in process is really nice and secure. They provide pagers if you are going next door for coffee or a drink. The place is impeccable and huge! Plenty of chairs everywhere, tables and seating, and cubbies for your personal belongings. So even if I don't climb, I have somewhere to hangout. There's other rooms within the building for cardio, working out and a yoga studio. This place has so much to offer! Bathrooms are super clean. Includes showers and lockers if you want to put your stuff somewhere more secure (BYOL - bring your own lock). Staff has been nothing but friendly on my first visit! Can't wait to come back and try actually climbing haha

Yelp
Wow what a huge Bouldering gym. This place is crazy hooked up, two workout areas, plenty of different style routes, campus boards, moon boards, spray wall, you name it. They do the range rating which I personally don't like. I understand grades are always subjective, but at least give us a more narrowed down idea. Came here on a Friday and wow it was like a party, vendors and just tons of people. If we lived closer, this would be my membership

Yelp
I attended Movement twice with friends who have memberships, recognizing that my bouldering skills are next to nil. I have really enjoyed the experience with my skilled friends, who are willing to reach me about runs, holds and footing. Movement's staff are always friendly, helpful, and instructional. I listened to one of the staff members assist a new member and they spent about 20 minutes together at a run talking through it with the instructor showing holds and footing. The runs are changed pretty regularly, so you'll never be bored. I've found the people who go to be really friendly and they'll give you tips, too, if you're open to it. I like the community vibe and the membership gives you access to multiple climbing gyms (in Denver and a few other locations).

Yelp
Great staff, fun and challenging routes, good workout equipment. Just bought a membership after 4 years away from climbing, post-injury. I must say, I was not expecting the fitness classes to be so intense, regardless of how poor my current athletic state is. Took the ski fit class with Alexis earlier this week, and I've been walking funny for three days now... literally almost fell down the stairs on my way to take an epsom salt bath. It hurts to laugh. When I walk my dogs, I have to double their dose of CBD because I can't bear the torturous pain of trying to stabilize myself on the icy sidewalks when they lunge after squirrels like the maniacs they are. My 8 year old son brags to his mom's boyfriend because he can outrun me. No matter how much ibuprofen I take, my legs and glutes still feel like a bag of smashed a**holes. Despite the class being called "ski fit", I had to cancel my trip to Loveland on Tuesday because my spaghetti legs would have have planted me face first into a lift pole. 10/10 recommend, will be back next Monday.

Yelp
Amazing bouldering gym in Denver! Came while I was on vacation and was super impressed with the climbs, variety to choose from, and the pure size of this place. It's huge! From being able to top off, horizontal routes, and the light up wall, the routes challenge you as a climber to use different techniques and improve on your skills. Great for beginners and experienced climbers! Wish this place was in my hometown, we have nothing like it!!

Yelp
I like this bouldering only gym for the fitness classes and the fact that it is attached to Improper City, a good co-working/bar/coffee place. It has been nice to work at Improper City and take a quick fitness class. The staff has been friendly and the instructors have been good at motivating me with inventive classes and a wide variety of equipment. Bosu balls, TRX, foam rollers, medicine balls, etc.

Yelp
Beautiful gym. Your first visit is only $10 and it's good for the other Movement gym too. 2 fitness rooms, yoga studio, and a childcare center. Tons of bouldering, lots of overhang, even a small cave off to the side of the main climbing area, and lots of creative problems. Very clean facilities.

Yelp
hey Movement, you increased my rates 4 times in less than 2 years, yet equipment not fixed, signs on several pieces for 3 weeks to months...dust behind treadmills been there for the 2 yrs i joined also, yet rates keep going up
google avatar

Julia E.

Yelp
Awesome gym, shitty parking situation. People seem nice and welcoming, but it's annoying to get to
google avatar

Cayleigh W.

Yelp
This is the best climbing gym ever! So many different bouldering styles available: slab, traversing boulder wall, lifelike and wall boulders, spray wall, LED and wood walls. They have different styles of problems like some with overhang, some with lot of volumes, ect. Im a beginner climber and it was so fun to try out all the different stuff here. Also very large gym, clean bathrooms, reasonable price, and weight and yoga available.

F B.

Yelp
Movement used to be like a second home for us but sadly it has grown more and more corporate while offering fewer and fewer services. Eliminating childcare was the last straw. Here's a tip: stop spending money on signs that day "you belong here" while getting rid of one of the few programs that actually made you inclusive.

Yelp
If I had to use two words to describe this gym, it would be "wasted potential." The facility is huge and clean and there is a LOT of wall space. Unfortunately, the setting team consistently makes choices that do not use the space to its fullest potential. About 25% of the wall space (and on walls with some of the best angles) is used for traversing. Some people like this, so fine. But it comes at the cost of less boulder problems in what is meant to be a bouldering gym. Also, why make the traverses going the same direction? If you're going to have two, make them different directions. Seems easy and obvious. Another 30% of the gym is used for "comp-style" problems. When these walls are set, often only one or two problems go up, severely limiting the hold density and problem density of that wall. This not only means that walls don't get set as often as they should-it means that when they are set, there aren't that many problems to try. Another awful choice was the color grading system. It makes sense to make it easier to circuit and easier to find problems in your range, but unfortunately since this is a new gym it comes with the sacrifice of climbing the same problems over and over since the setting staff is limited in hold choice (same holds with set difficulties results in repetitive problems). Perhaps if the gym was older and had a much larger variety of holds, this would work. But it gets old very fast. This gets one star for proximity to my house and for clean and new facilities. No other stars due to the massive waste of potential. Oh. Also parking is terrible. How did they not plan for this?

Yelp
Top-notch bouldering and fitness facility. Tons of space, super clean, and really friendly staff. The bouldering itself is great. People of all abilities climb here, and are usually friendly and helpful with some beta if you want it. They rotationally reset problems pretty often, so there's always something new to climb. And there is a good variety of styles -- traditional boulder problems, top-outs, tricky slab, new comp/skate-style, overhang, a cave, and a traverse wall (5.9 to 5.12+). Holds are in good shape (even though this is still a pretty new gym, they clean them between sets so they don't get super grimy). This is a popular spot so it can get kinda crowded on a weeknight, but there's enough space to spread out and not feel like you're climbing on top of people. Fitness facilities are also great. I don't belong to another gym just to work out b/c I don't need to. The fitness classes and instructors are all really good, and push you and the other 10-20 super fit people in the room until you're spent (but in a nice, not yelly way). They don't have any weight machines, but have most of the other standard gym equipment - cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, rowers), full racks and barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, TRX bands, bosu and balance balls, etc. And a yoga studio. Oh and of course all of the climbing training stuff - moon board, campus board, hang boards, etc. Can't really ask for anything more (well maybe parking, but I've never parked more than two blocks away, and leave after dark all the time with no issue). When I want to climb ropes, I go to Baker [Movement's Baker Location on 5th]. Otherwise, I come to RiNo.

Benjamin W.

Yelp
Great facilities and friendly staff. Setting doesn't rotate extremely often but there general volume is so great that it's not super noticeable

Yelp
Tons of bouldering and beginner friendly routes. Kind staff, clean and welcoming. Love the location.

Yelp
Five stars for this massive, brand new bouldering gym. They nailed it with this one, right in the heart of super hipster RiNo area, it attracts the young crowd you'd expect at a bouldering gym that was near a college campus or similar. Definitely also all types young and old, and all skill levels having a great time in here. I took advantage of the $10 first time visit, and since I had my own shoes etc. it was a pretty cheap day at the gym. I did check out the membership rates and I think it's pretty steep, if rates were slightly lower I'd pull the trigger on a membership in a heartbeat. Doesn't matter much though, membership and attendance here looks super strong so not much reason to dip the rates. There is a cool weight room and gym setup which was nice, I went in and got a quick workout after my arms were spent, and I think this would help a lot of people justify the cost of a full day visit or monthly membership fee. Located in the same building is a great bar and coffee shop, perfect thing to do with friends after everyone is burnt out from climbing. Bring your wallet, the bar is pretty expensive too...

Sara M.

Yelp
Pretty much everything about this gym is perfect. Expansive and spacious bouldering area, clean, well-lit, tons of great problems that are clearly marked and interesting. They even have a traversing area! I've never seen this in a bouldering gym before. Solid cave like the other Movement in Denver, plus childcare, weights, cardio equipment, plentiful cubbies, friendly front desk folks. The only thing holding me back from giving five stars is the parking/location. It's all street parking, and I've often had to park 2+ blocks away. This wouldn't be a problem except for the safety factor. I've gotten catcalled and harassed just walking to my car by people living in the abandoned buildings nearby. I dread leaving the building after sunset, which I feel like will get a lot worse in the winter. I know there's really nothing Movement can do about this but still, it's a bummer.

Yelp
Let me count the ways I love Movement RiNo! 1. I can walk here. Anyway I can avoid traffic after work trying to get a gym session in is greatly valuable to me. 2. I can get beers/food after with friends and walk home. Again, avoiding traffic and not having to worry about taking an Uber or Lyft home because I've had a few. 3. Now on to the actual gym, the facility is open, clean, has variety, and I can still climb quickly even if it's busy because it's so big. Big pluses! 4. Training area is nice and organized... and MOONBOARD! 5. Traverse wall!! Great for warming up and ending a session with endurance. 6. Brand new exercise equipment, large yoga room. 7. Is rather be climbing outside but I've been busy with work and it's so damn hot, that it's nice to have a gym I actually enjoy being at and spending time at.

Yelp
I love movement rino. It's a huge huge facility and always kept in tip top shape. There is a ton of problems and a huge variety in style and difficulty. The gym section is well equipt as well. The gym is big enough that even when it is crowded you can always find something to hop on. Always cool seeing pro climbers here too !
google avatar

Adam F.

Yelp
Tons of bouldering for all levels and friendly staff for newbs. Multiple locations and now a membership allows you access to Earth Treks climbing gyms also. The weight area looks good too.

Yelp
This place is fire. Amazing community, staff, routes, and facilities. All around rock stars. Keep it up

Brian E.

Yelp
This is the best bouldering gym I've been to. Tons of routes, good vibes, and a great gym as well. Will definitely be going back!

Keith A.

Yelp
Love this gym. Been to many climbing gyms and the bouldering and classes here are top notch. Caryn's yin class helped me feel especially refreshed after weeks of being under a lot of stress. Thanks for being awesome movement!

Charlie B.

Yelp
Great gym with a ton of fun bouldering options. There's a great community feel and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Emmanuel R.

Yelp
While the space is brand new and in a popular part of Denver, Movement's latest gym is underwhelming. From the sterile and empty feeling walking in, the greeting by pretentious and unfriendly front desk staff, to the inconsistency (both in grade and quality)of the route setting, this gym fails to impress. You'd be much better off checking out any one of the other Denver area gyms.

Mark R.

Yelp
WOW! If I could only leave a review for 10 stars!!! I moved to Denver about seven months ago and was blessed to find the Movement Community. Both the RINO Movement staff and facility are at the absolute top of industry!! Managing Director Andrew will make you instantly feel at home and welcomed. Andrew does an exceptional job leading the Rino team to make the space beautiful, clean, and full of positive energy - not to mention his soul enriching yoga classes! :) Each member of the staff will always go out of their way to spread a warm smile and positivity to any situation. The instructors for yoga and fitness classes are amongst the best in the industry. They share their energy with their students and go out of their way to make sure students grasp each pose / exercise in the correct manner as to not cause injury. Thank you to all the instructors who have helped me, including Britt, Jen, Tara, Julieta, and Angie, you are the BEST! I appreciate ALL you do! The facilities in RINO for Bouldering are the best I have ever climbed in my life. The route setting team does an immaculate job at setting new routes every week. The traverses are challenging and attract some of the biggest names in the climbing industry to the gym including Alex Honnold and more! Come check this place out, your soul will thank you later! Namaste
