My stay at this hotel was… memorable, but not in a good way. On arrival I was told the computer systems were down, meaning no room key for the entire 3-night stay. Any time I needed to access my room I had to wait for a staff member with a master key to escort me, like a VIP, but without the fun. Inconvenient? Yes. Embarrassing? Definitely. I get that technical issues happen, but the hotel didn’t seem to try to fix it or offer any goodwill. Even after following up via Trip.com, they refused any compensation. Charging full price while guests can’t access their rooms independently feels like a bold business strategy. Oh and the door hanger promising drink tokens in exchange for skipping housekeeping? I hung it out every day and got… nothing. Guess it was more of a decorative feature. The room itself was fine - dated, but functional. Ultimately, the lack of effort to address these issues left me feeling disappointed. Here’s hoping the management figures out a better plan for future system meltdowns.

I stay often at Mövenpick Hotel Berlin, and while the rooms are nice and clean, and the breakfast is tasty, the service at reception is extremely unprofessional. First of all, the staff often doesn’t speak German and regularly mix things up. On one occasion, they gave me the key to someone else’s room—mixing up names, which is completely unacceptable. Check-in is another major issue. There is always a long line at reception, which is the last thing you want to deal with after a tiring workday. This happens because of the slow and unprofessional service—it’s clear that the staff are not well-trained or efficient. Additionally, they demand a deposit of 50 EUR per day for the minibar, which is always empty! To make matters worse, one time, a receptionist insisted that I buy a chocolate bar as a deposit and return it upon checkout. When I refused, he simply said “okay,” which was totally weird and unprofessional. To top it all off, during my last stay, the teapot in my room wasn’t working. I called reception and asked for a replacement, but no one ever showed up that evening. This kind of unprofessional and chaotic service has made me lose trust in this hotel. I’ve had enough and will look for alternatives. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone until their service improves.

The amenities were good. Nice bathroom with bathtub and toiletries. Very nice sauna that was not at all crowded. But pleaaaase change the pillows. The bed experience overall. The mattress is too soft and the pillow is a sheet of paper. I woke up with terrible neck pain after the first night. Other things seemed a bit outdated: small TV (non-smart), the wardrobe was not closing properly, etc

This hotel is lovely. Our room has wonderful high ceilings, beautiful finishings and is very well lit. Every detail and everything you may want has been considered- there is even a free of charge pillow menu to get the perfect nights sleep. The beds are very comfortable, the space is quiet and immaculate. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Based on what we paid to stay here it feels very good value for money. I traveled here for Berlin Marathon and the hotel had a special “marathon buffet” the night before the race which was lovely, carbs without having to travel the night before the big race. I would recommend anyone traveling for the race to stay here, it’s a quick journey by train and then a short walk to the start and finish lines.

I stayed at this hotel, hoping that the Swiss brand would ensure a high standard and that the four stars according to German standards would be truly deserved. I booked a room with a King Bed and specified in the reservation. I requested on a high floor with a bathtub and an attractive view, even if it was just of the street. Unfortunately, I received room number 104, which does not meet any of these requirements. The bed is definitely not a King Bed, the room is on the lowest floor, it is equipped with a shower, and the view from the window is of a dirty courtyard... The hotel has clearly seen better days, which is also reflected in the staff. The reception ignored my message pointing out that the room did not meet the reservation conditions. The walls in the room are dirty, the carpets are stained, and the furniture is scratched and worn. Some of the appliances are archaic and should be replaced. All of this indicates that the hotel still has a lot of work to do. While a renovation might be a major undertaking, more thorough cleaning and a friendlier, more professional staff are issues that can be improved immediately. These kinds of changes are crucial for improving guest comfort and maintaining the hotel's good reputation.

The hairdryer did not unfortunately work for 3 days, luckily the receptionist helped us. I could not figure out how to make the sauna work. The cleaning standards are low (dust everywhere, carpet). The bar crew is very attentive. The internal patio is very relaxing. Very well connected and quiet area. Breakfast was amazing.

This hotel is okay, nothing to brag about and could use a few updates. TV: not a smart TV, only German cable channels Pillows: Flat and thinner than a smash burger patty I would not stay here again

Room was clean and comfortable, I liked the high ceilings. Do note - if traveling with someone other than a spouse the bathroom is glass. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The hotel is in a great location near public transportation options. When ordering things to the room, service wasn't as efficient as it could be. All in all it was a good stay!

Yelp
It is clean, modern and located close to historical sites. The staff is helpful and respectful. I also have to mention that the breakfast buffet is outstanding!

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic and the staff couldn't be more friendly or accommodating. We were here 8 days and they treated us like family. Centrally located to downtown Berlin with all the sightseeing, restaurants and mall are within walking distance. There's actually a bunker museum right across the street from the hotel. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning, it's quite a feast, again friendly service and the food is excellent, very European. We enjoyed the bar at night as well, a couple of cocktails at the end of each day to catch our breath was always great, got to know the barkeeps and they always made us feel at home. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the lovely city of Berlin, OH, and you've got to try the ice cream, another plus!

Yelp
I love this hotel - have stayed here many many times. The only annoying part feels a bit like groundhog day. Most of the times I stayed with our crew of assistants and hair & make-up artists, so I end up with a $$$$ bill. The stay has been booked through our fabulous travel agent Artist Travel Service - and the Mövenpick do always insist that we prepare a "Kostenübernahme" (cost takeover declaration). Every time I try to check the group before I leave they say they did not finalise the bill - and as per their records they have my credit card on file and will debit and send the bill to the office. Every time. I must say: I'd rather have the chance to check before I leave/ my credit card gets debited, no chance. They wave me good-bye with a very friendly "we have everything on file, save travels...." Now, 1-2-3 days after we left they call our travel agent and say - in a very friendly way (other than the Mövenpick Nuremberg, who threatened to call the police) - that I "forgot" to pay the bill. On the current tour, we have stayed in three Mövenpick Hotels, and it happened in all three hotels. I wonder if this is a sort of scheme to avoid credit card fees on group bookings. Sadly, apart from the home work we receive with this, it leaves some bad feelings, which result in my rather poor rating. A shame really, as the hotel sure deserves better. PS: Hated the warmed up Rösti though for breakfast. The Swiss sure can do better than that.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed here for seven nights for a vacation (and my first time) to Berlin and our stay was incredibly lovely. Loved: - the deep soaker tub - extremely close to metro and walkable to tourist spots (Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charlie, Tiergarten) but far enough away to be a quiet neighbourhood - friendly and helpful staff! - adjustable bed (we were told at check-in that this was a recent addition. we give it 10/10, extremely comfortable!) Our package included brunch at the hotel restaurant, Hof zwei. I appreciated the variety offered: a mix of American/British faves (scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, etc) and more European fare (breads, meats, cheeses) plus fruit, veggies, yoghurts, fresh juices, and the best coffee I've ever had in my whole life. 4/5 stars for a few small details: some things in the bathroom not replaced, and some bedroom furniture looked a bit rough around the edges and ready for an upgrade. Overall, a very nice stay in a great location!

Yelp
How high my stress is directly correlates to my rating of a hotel. With that said, Moevenpick was definitely underwhelming. The rooms were beautiful, the shower great, and the beds were comfortable. However, the staff was unresponsive and there were some other issues. First, it wasn't a nice surprise that internet had cost me 17 euros when it wasn't even fast. On top of that, we paid 20 euros a day for hotel parking, and our garage key didn't even work the first time we used it causing inconvenience. When we called down to the reception to ask for the internet code, they couldn't get it to us over the phone and asked us to come down to get it....For a country that guarantees that I'll be instantly run over if I ever step foot in the bike lane, I'm surprised they can't fetch an internet code over the phone. Adding more frustration when we called down to ask for the internet cost, the staff answered "I'm new here I don't know." Then, maybe you should find out. For the price of the hotel, you'd be better off booking with Meninger hostel. P.S. The bar was closed. Fail.

Yelp
A great hotel off the beaten path with extremely friendly service and delicious food. This was the first hotel we stayed in on our honeymoon. We had no idea what part of the city it was in (a good or bad part of town), but it did not disappoint. It was a good walk to Tiergarten and other main attractions, but it wasn't so far away that a cab was needed. The staff was always friendly and helpful in providing information for nearby attractions and questions about travel. The breakfast was incredible with lots of choices: eggs, sausage, toast, meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, etc. The coffee they served was phenomenal, probably the best we tasted on our honeymoon.

Yelp
I'm giving this three stars but only because it's the average between the hotel and the restaurant. The hotel is truly lovely. My room was great - on the 4th floor, spacious, and very clean. I liked it a lot... My parents' room on the first floor was nothing to write home about - on the small side (considering it was supposedly the equivalent of my room, price-wise) and had the glass-block divider with the bathroom that everyone else reviewing seems pretty weirded out by. My parents didn't want to trade rooms with me, as they said they were comfortable, so I kept the larger room and had a great time. The only thing that is interesting is that they do not provide conditioner (for hair) in the rooms - only bar soap and shampoo/body wash - I just stole two bottles of conditioner and some body lotion from a housekeeping cart on my way out one day.. I would recommend you just ask for it from the front desk haha. Now about breakfast. Yikes. We did not order the buffet as the cost is extreme for Berlin. (22 euros per person is very VERY expensive in Berlin. Just to put it in perspective, my parents and I went elsewhere - also a hotel - for breakfast and maybe hit 12 euros a person after each eating large breakfasts and having lattes.) The one day we did eat in the hotel, we ordered the a la carte breakfast.. Do not ever do this. Firstly, it took the server forever to come to our table as I'm sure they never get people ordering a la carte (a poor assumption if you ask me), and then, when we did finally receive our breakfasts, they were cold and uninspiring at best. As well, they were considerably overpriced for what they were, quality wise. It was actually extremely disappointing considering how nice the hotel is. Either way, the hotel is in a great location (right on the S-bahn and two seconds from the U-bahn), close to Checkpoint Charlie (15-ish minute walk) and really quite nice.

Yelp
The service was great here over the couple days we stayed and the location was also good. The rooms were OK I guess. We had upgraded to a deluxe room but with the weird shape of the room, it still seemed cramped for two. An inefficient use of space seemed very un-German to me but it was not that big a deal. Be warned, our bathroom was walled off with those square blocks of pretty much see through glass not giving much privacy. Americans will not be used to this although we managed.

Yelp
What an exceptional stay from start to finish. Coming off an overnight flight we were greeted by pleasant front desk staff (thanks again for the early check in!) and our room was well appointed, super comfortable and flawlessly clean. There are 2 bus lines and a metro stop just steps away from the door that take you anywhere you want to go - and many of the tourist activities are within walking distance. Grabbed a delicious lunch at the hotel restaurant before we left for the airport. Already planning a trip back. Don't forget to try the ice cream!

Yelp
When our boss told us he was taking us all for weekend trip to Berlin, we were all elated. He emailed us the details and as soon as we read "We're staying at the Moevenpick" I jumped onto Yelp to read the reviews. Pretty mixed! Here are my thoughts... - the staff at the hotel incredibly charming and helpful - great sauna - fairly central location - nice bar, great food - large, clean rooms. A little dated - loved the bath and under floor heating! - not so keen on the idea that you can pretty much see straight through from the bedroom to the bathroom through the glass blocks! Luckily I shared with a close friend, but be warned if sharing with a colleague!
