Mowgli is one of those places that dikhta hai bilkul desi, but taste-wise gently whispers, “easy ho jao” 😄
Let’s start with the good stuff. The vibe is fab, service is warm, and the tiffin-box presentation is full nostalgia. Food arrives in school-style Indian lunch boxes and suddenly you’re mentally back in childhood, waiting for mummy to ask, “Tiffin poora khaya ya nahi?”
Starters:
The dahi puri was actually nice — balanced, fresh, and honestly the closest thing to proper Indian street food. Dil ne kaha, haan yeh theek hai.
Mains:
Now comes the reality check. The chicken and dal (served in very cute tiffins) were… not it. They look great for Instagram, but taste-wise they felt like Indian food after finishing finishing school in London 😅
Masale bole, “hum thoda kam bolenge.”
Ironically, the boiled rice was the most authentic dish on the table — perfectly cooked, no fusion confusion, just pure apna kaam karta hua chawal 😂
Drinks:
Cocktails are decent — not wah wah, but also not meh. Bas theek-thaak, like that friend who’s always on time but never exciting.
Overall, Mowgli is Indian food for British tastebuds. Lots of show, beautiful presentation, great for someone who wants to “try Indian food” without actually committing to Indian flavours.
If the mains ever decide to grow some proper desi masala, this place could easily be a 5-star banger. For now, it’s a solid 3 to 3.5 stars — acha experience, achi vibe, but ghar ka taste abhi door hai.
