Google
Unique and fun place for a date night or hanging out with friends! We sat in the restaurant area and fortunately were able to borrow a GenX appropriate game (SkipBo). The food was better than I expected based on other reviews and the service was excellent. My only complaints are that the food prices are very high and there’s not a lot of options. Also the acoustics of the restaurant area are terrible and made the noise level of the room seem higher than it should be. Parking is a challenge but we went on a Saturday night and were able to find a spot close by since neighboring businesses were closed. All things considered it was a fun place to go on a rainy fall night and I’d definitely go again.

Google
Mox Boarding house is a great game and card store with an incredible selection and incredible food! We were able to order mtg cards and play while we ate which is always fun. Mox is also the perfect place to pick up a new board game or a gift for friends/family

Google
It's a game store with a really nice restaurant in it. And by really nice, I mean entirely appropriate for gaming next to and you can order from the gaming side, and a server will bring the food right to your table. I put the price for the food in the same fast casual place as like an applebees or chilis, but the food is much higher quality.

Google
I love this place🤩. You can play board games with friends and then have some food. The food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. 🍗There is a wide selection of board games you can borrow from the counter, and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that parking is difficult because there are not many spaces.🥺

Google
The area is huge and has plenty of board games. This is the best Mox among all the locations. Corn critters with corn and cheese was served with frozen cheese that was not reheated but not eatable. The overall vibe and ambiance are very good.

Google
The Mox is a nice restaurant that seems like a bar and it directly ties to the board game store next-door. Great concept of playing games while you eat. You get 15% off a game if you play it at the table and purchase it. Note that the 15% off is only on games you actually play at the table. Not games you might want to buy. We ordered the Reuben, which was fantastic! It was one of the best I had. The hot chicken sandwich was just OK and the kids meals were pretty good. We ordered the quesadillas and the buttered noodles. The sweet potato fries were excellent too. They have a mix of beer, wine, and cocktails. Over all the place is really nice and clean and the service was pretty good.

Google
The atmosphere is good, and the board game selection is decent but this place has some of the worst food I’ve had in the city. $120 for Brussels sprouts and pulled pork with no sauce or glaze at all, a hot chicken sandwich that maybe had salt as a spice on there and nothing else, and Mac and cheese so dry my toddler was able to eat it with his hands without getting messy in the slightest. Also Cesar salad shouldn’t come with corn and tortilla chips. Go for the drinks and if you know they have a game you want to play but go to dinner somewhere else first.

Google
Great game selection and great food. I really enjoyed the Mac n cheese! Plus, I won my dinner game, which was a nice bonus.

Yelp
The food is average. The only reason why I come here is to play games. There is food which is nice but don't bet on it tasting like fine dining at all. When I walked in there was only picnic-style seating available. Since I have a shoulder/neck injury and my friend is pregnant, I asked if we could have 2 seats with backs. The waiter quickly accomodated, no questions asked. You can borrow games from the store-side of the building and play them while you eat. It's a great way to test games and meet up with friends. Parking can be a bit nuts so do your best to come early if you're meeting people there at a certain time.

Yelp
After our first choice venue got booked out, we decided to host a party in the speakeasy at Mox Bellevue. I'm super glad we chose to do so and our guests really enjoyed the experience! The speakeasy space itself is unique and great. It is set apart through a hidden bookshelf entrance behind the main dining area on the way to the restrooms. There is a portion of the bar with seating dedicated to the speakeasy and two large tables and one smaller one with booth seating. There was enough space for our party of 20 people, but it did feel a little tight when everyone was up and ordering drinks. The recommended capacity on the website is 18 but once everyone settles in and sits down, we didn't have a problem with feeling too crowded in the space. Plates, water cups and pitchers were already set up on the tables once we arrived. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. For an establishment that is known for board games, the food was pretty good. We ordered several rounds of the mexican street fries (my favorite), calamari, and hummus with pita for our guests. The bartenders/servers checked in on us frequently and got our guests' drink orders out quickly. Huge thank you to them! They also provided us with additional plates and forks, and a cutting knife as we brought a cake to share. Pricing was super reasonable and I retroactively wish we had reserved another hour as our guests were having so much fun. If you are looking for a place to host a party in a private space, I highly recommend looking at some of the rooms here. There was a good variety of sizes and pricing and our guests got to enjoy trying some new board games as well. The only downside was parking - it can get hard to find a spot as the lot is tiny but after a certain time, I believe you can park in some of the lots for the neighboring businesses. I just recommend reading signage carefully to make sure you don't park improperly.

Yelp
I'm not kidding when I say I went because of Yelp reviews praising the service. My experience was the opposite!! As someone who works for an international gaming company, I would have loved to establish a relationship with this type of establishment. I have to say I left feeling deeply frustrated and disappointed. Every interaction I had felt laden with apathy. Employees were quick to spout rules, yet I had to fight for attention to ask questions. After getting permission from one employee to look more closely at the games behind the counter, I see another team member flying over over to tell me I can't be there. Sigh. The experience only went downhill from there. The communal seating was awkward, the service during the meal was virtually nonexistent, we had to flag someone down for everything. Uo top it all off, the food was outright gross. This could have been a meaningful opportunity for community connection, but it fell very short.

Yelp
Fun place on the eastside for the family or large groups. Food is decent and good beer and cocktail selections. Huge selection of board games to check out and the staff is quite knowledgeable and happy help to suggest games. Pricing is a bit expensive but you can sit and play as long as you want.

Yelp
My friends and I have been going to Mox for years. It's like going to the library, except you get to try new board games, be loud, and enjoy food and drinks. They also host game events for Dungeons & Dragons and Magic the Gathering. You can borrow up to two board games at a time to bring to your table. If you're stuck and don't know what game to get, they have board game experts there to help you. They'll ask you questions like: "How many people do you have?", "what level of strategy do you prefer?" And/or "how complex of a game do you want?". Most of the time, we've ended up with some great games, but there have been a few games that we'd never want to play again. But that's the fun of the experience! Favorite Games tried: -CDSK Trivia (fantastic trivia game where you choose how well you know a topic and get asked question according to your supposed knowledge level) -Wavelength (given a word and two opposite adjectives, can you guess where the reader put the arrow on a spectrum of opposite adjectives?) -Wits & Wagers (a betting game where you guess numbers and years) -Hues & Cues (a game where you give a word to describe the shade of color on a board). Okay Games tried: -Hanabi (this card game is tough and requires you to be silent throughout the game) -Steam Up (this dim sum game is fun but has a ridiculous 12 page instruction booklet, but the game is actually pretty simple) - Forbidden Island (co-op game with some strategy involved) Meh Games tried: -Canvas (this one is award-winning, but just wasn't for me) -Pusheen The Cat (very low-strategy and mostly just cutesy) Service is always great and the waitstaff are super attentive. The tables and interior are clean. Their cocktails are honestly a hit or a miss for me. The Spicy Margarita Fireflower was one of the worst cocktails I've ever had (thankfully they don't have it on the menu anymore). I tried the POWER OF ENDURANCE ($13) last I was here because I was intrigued by the pandan liqueur. However, I was quite disappointed at how small and watered down it was. Their MEAD and CIDERS are decent though. Oh and their CHAI lattes are great if you're not in the drinking mood. For food, I recommend their FRIES or ELOTE. The fries have a crispy outside coating (like cornstarch) and their elote is just super flavorful. Both are great shareables. Overall: 3/5 for drinks, 4/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
The food was good! We got the Fried Calamari, Tavern Mac and Cheese, and the Sausage and Pepper Rotini. Both dishes were very cheesy. The calamari was alright, it wasn't eye openingly good but not terrible. There are a wide variety of board games to choose from and a large interior so there is a lot of space. Pretty good place to come with a group of friends and play some board games with good food.

Yelp
mox is primarily a place to play and purchase board games. they have a huge selection -- you just walk up, ask for a game, and you can play it for free. if you want to keep it, you can buy a copy and take it home with you. attached to the board game area is their diner. i will say that i find that the food is actually good; however, it's overpriced. i think part of that has to do with being able to play the available games for free... but for some of the food options, the price is a little whack. the mexican street fries are $14 for example, and there isn't a ton of toppings besides on the very top of them. the inside of the diner is pretty. it leans into a 1920s/gatsby vibe which is cool. the service is very spotty... i would say it's about 50/50. sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not-so-great. overall, i like mox and i will continue coming here. i just wish the food prices were a lil lower...

Yelp
Wow this place is a roller coaster. So I'm averaging out the last 2 visits for stars but will say the service is amazing, kind and friendly wait staff So we ended up getting a table in one of there secret rooms as they were packed and wanted us to be in a more quiet location (so sweet) Let's talk food Poutine (subbed fries): I always love mox poutine when they get it right but wow wow wow whatever that water down seethrough sauce was was NOT gravy. Pass FIVE-SPICE CHICKEN BITES: so this was ok flavor wise BUT I couldn't enjoy it as the chicken was over seasoned by miiiiiiles Mox Burger: solid burger and their battered fries are always on point Here hoping whatever is happening in the kitchen resolves itself

Yelp
I would say this is a good place for a first date or for friends to gather. If you are into board or card games, this place is definitely for you! Food and Drinks are solid and tasty. Good Ambience and Service. They mostly have super long tables to sit at with others so may be a bit crowded by others Reasonable Prices

Yelp
This is a place where it's definitely worth checking their event schedule before you go. We popped in on a night where they were having trivia and a puzzle event, so seating was limited. We put our name down on the restaurant list, and got a table in about 45 mins. Once seated, the waiter took our order and wasn't seen again for quite some time. Ended up placing a second drink order and food with someone else, which was fine. No silverware or anything provided, we had to ask another (third) person. It's pretty loud in the restaurant with everyone chatting and playing games, and be prepared for the occasional yell when someone wins. Food is good! I had the chicken bacon ranch and the tofu bites. Both were really good! I wish they had a bigger cocktail menu (there were only 3) but they do have a full bar if you know what you want, along with coffee. Wasn't a fan of their coffee based cocktail, it curdled within minutes. Great spot to buy MTG if you need anything, from sleeves to boosters. They have a good selection. The worst thing about this spot is parking. It's super limited, and depending on the time you go, you cannot use neighboring businesses lots. We went at 6:30, so surround businesses were closed and all was fair game. I circled for about 5 mins before I found a spot. If you like MTG, DND, or playing board games, I highly recommend this spot! It's great!

Yelp
Great game store and card shop, great and friendly customer service. I've been a customer for many years now. Unfortunately the food is very hit and miss. They change the menu occasionally and sometimes it's pretty boring other times it has something more interesting than a burger. The quality of the food can be very inconsistent though. Sometimes it's really good but on average don't find the food to be worth the price sadly.

Yelp
The only reason why this place gets 4 stars is because of the games you can play when you are eating! Besides the games, the drinks/cocktails were gross, and the food was average. I would never go to this place because of their food or beverages. For drinks, I got the Cafe de Blanc, The First Edition, Sinnoh Pearl, and the Silver City beer. The cocktails were either too sweet or tasted like they did not mix the drink correctly. The beer was good, though! We got the Five-spice chicken bites and Mexican street fries for appetizers. For our entree, we got a bacon chicken ranch sandwich with ceased salad and a Mox classic burger with bacon and a side of Mac and cheese. Our server said that the appetizers we picked were some of his favorite, but they were whatever and way below average for a typical restaurant. The sandwich and burger were good, but nothing special. The best part of the meal was the Mac and cheese! The server was really nice, and the people who help you pick out the games are the best! They have so much knowledge about games and picked out games that fit perfectly what we were looking for. The ambiance of this place is clean and modern. It is the nicest place I have been to that has games at the restaurant. Tip: skip the cocktails and stick with the beer. On the weekend, go early, or you will have to wait.

Yelp
We ventured out to grab a quick 21st birthday drink the family and found this amazing Speakeasy room at MOX. Atmosphere was very enjoyable for apps, drinks and a quick game of Spot. Food was delicious and priced perfectly as were our drinks. If your looking for a relaxing place for game night head to MOX Boarding House in Bellevue and make your way into this semi private speak easy room

Yelp
I've come here before just to browse, but this time I came with three friends to play games! The game selection for purchase is pretty amazing, and I love that this store also has a huge jigsaw puzzle space, so that you can really pick one that fits you or your giftee's aesthetic. The food itself is decent-- not the best you can get at the price, but reasonably tasty bar food. It was a bit awkward to play a board game at a four person table though, along with food and drink, because there really wasn't enough space for it (or barely was). We came on a Friday night, and it was packed! I'd recommend making reservations-- I think we were lucky to get a table without one, and we were unable to switch tables either due to holds. I think if I came again, I'd skip the food entirely, maybe get a drink per person to enjoy while playing. The food was really the most difficult part of navigating the smaller table. If you wanted to be here for an extended period of time, maybe taking a break to eat instead of playing while eating would be the more correct procedure. Will add a comment that there might've been some pieces missing in their copy of Cascadia, according to the person at our table who plays that game all the time. But overall, it was a very fun time, and I had such a good time and would definitely come again.

Yelp
I went to Mox Boarding House for the first time and it is amazing! They have a free parking lot, but it gets busy so you may have to park further away. I was with a small group (5 people) on a Thursday evening. I was kind of bummed out because there was a long wait to sit in the restaurant. However, there were plenty of open tables in the main store area. I asked a worker and they said we could order at the bar and they would bring the food to our table. I just ordered the first thing I saw on the menu, which is the Mox Classic (a cheeseburger and fries). It was really good and I would definitely order it again! You can borrow a game to play at the front desk. They suggested a card game called Chameleon. It was perfect for the number of people we had and the casual vibe we were going for.
google avatar

Alice Z.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 | Service: 3/5 | Experience: 5/5 This establishment is half board game shop and half restaurant. My party of 4 came on a Friday evening and was able to get seated in the restaurant. Let's just say food and service are very subpar. HOWEVER, most folks come here to "rent" a board game to play; there are so many and there's not necessarily a time limit to how long you can stay. I had a really great experience and got exposure to very unique games that I had not heard of before.
google avatar

Vivien L.

Yelp
5/5 experience and 2.5/5 stars on food. I've been to the Mox in Seattle and have similar comments about the Bellevue location. I highly recommend Mox for the gaming experience and ambience, and definitely not for the food. My group and I had a fun time playing a few games with our appetizers. We ordered the five-spice chicken bites which was their take on Taiwanese popcorn chicken and the Mexican street fries. We finished the chicken but not the fries since they tasted pretty bad. The menu description says they're crispy battered, but they were just normal fries with an odd combo of seasonings.

Yelp
Mox Boarding House is such a cool spot in Bellevue! If you're looking to grab food, drinks, and play a variety of board games, this is definitely a place to visit. My boyfriend and I came here for the first time tonight to have dinner and play some games and we had such a fun time! It was pretty packed since it was a Friday night - the parking lot is very small and was full so we luckily found street parking. The hostess told us that the wait time would be an hour or so but we were luckily seated after waiting ~15-20 minutes. We wandered around the shop area to look at the wide variety of games while we waited and the employees were all very helpful and asked if we needed assistance or had any questions about any games. For drinks, we ordered the sinnoh pearl, cafe la blanc, first edition, and a beer. The cocktail menu is very limited - there were only four options to choose from. Our drinks were okay, I wouldn't order the sinnoh pearl again. My boyfriend didn't like his drinks and they weren't filled up all the way either which was disappointing. Would probably only get beer next time I'm here. For food, we ordered the five-spice chicken bites and Mexican street fries for appetizers and the Mox classic burger with a side of mac and cheese and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich for our entrees. The appetizers were okay, nothing special and we wouldn't order these again. I enjoyed the burger and mac n cheese, they were tasty. The service was wonderful! Our server was very friendly and continued to check in on us despite the fact that it was busy and he had a lot of tables. The ambiance is really cool as well. I've never been somewhere like this before. There's different sections - main dining area, game shop, private bar area, tournament room, and a trading card room. It's a pretty loud place with mostly everyone playing games over dinner but it's such a great time and we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Such a fun place to come as a team outing or with friends. Their menu is great for a board game cafe and of course the game selection is endless. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing games and fun. Our apps were scrumptious and I wanted to have a few bite of an entree that I could also take home so I got the curry. They have an option to get a cajun chicken as an add on too and it was also super flavorful. And then we sat there all afternoon and had a great time playing hellapagos. Great Tuesday afternoon!

Yelp
Located on the second story of a block of buildings in Bellevue, MOX Boarding House is more than meets the eye. When you first enter you find a long hallway with game rooms off to the right. The art deco theme is polished and perfectly welcoming. My husband and I met with a friend for dinner and we were impressed by the service and the food. I ordered a vegan Seasonal Citrus Salad and it was fresh and bright. I liked that they had a couple of vegan options on the menu. My friend ordered the vegan sandwich, NOPALES TORTA which is Fried cactus with avocado, spring mix, tomato, and onion; served with aioli on telera bread. There aren't many bars in the area with vegan options. I appreciate that they offered more inclusive dining options.

Yelp
Without the food this place is already a 5/5 for me. If you live in bellevue or you're visiting and you've already walked around bellevue square for hours and then you probably ran out of things to do. If you like board games at all, this is a must visit. All throughout high school this was my go-to hangout spot just to try new games with friends and watch magic players going at it. It wasn't until I made some money that I evolved and started eating here with friends but the food is surprisingly really good. Yes, it's pricey but the experience of playing games while eating restaurant food is something you won't find anywhere else. Also the staff are always so knowledgeable and nice. They are always eager to recommend new games and somehow they know the rules for all of them which is crazy because half the time I can't even figure out the rules for the one game they recommended.

Gwen H.

Yelp
Love having a place to play games and eat dinner. I think there is an opportunity to improve the menu and offer healthier food options.
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
The place is sick as heck. There's a great energy here for 20-30 somethings/adults who want to hangout with other adults to play games, chat, and grab a snack. This should be the reason you come here. I came with my extended family (includes parents + child) after a long hike for the food alone because we were hungry af and the food pictures looked good. The wait was long to get our order and our food was as slow to come out. Our waiter was simultaneously also the bartender. The food was so average. The pictures and names overhyped the food. It did not taste as good as it sounded or looked e.g. Chilli fries tasted like canned chilli poured on deep fried (previously frozen) potato wedges. The burgers were decent and I commend the great char on the thick patty of meat. Come here for games and company where food is a snack/accessory and you'll likely get a 5/5 but don't come here hungry looking for excellent food and attentive service.

Yelp
What a gem this place is!! It's the kind of gem that you want to support but you kind of don't want anyone else to know about at the same time because then everyone will go there and it will be so packed with people you'll never be able to get in again !! I love that you can try out board games here to see if you like them before playing them. I love that they taught my son how to play Pokémon card game I love how friendly the staff is and how much they want you to really enjoy all the things that they offer I just wish that the dining area more gluten-free options. Currently I have to get really creative in order to have food that I can eat. I wish there were more of these in the area

Lilly T.

Yelp
I had some friends visiting from out of town, and we decided this would be a fun way to spend our evening. That was an understatement. Food was great, staff was great, games were fantastic.

Yelp
Mox as a restaurant is not bad, but as a hang out spot it is absolutely top tier. How it works is you arrive with group of friends and you can "check out" any board game your heart desires and play FOR FREE. If you're hungry, they have a restaurant area and if you fall in love with any of the games, you can check out the store section to purchase them as well. It's a super fun way to kill time and have a huge selection to cater to board game beginners and connoisseurs. The shareable plates are all pretty solid. I liked the all three of the following: Elote Corn Ribs, Roasted Garlic Hummus, and French Onion Poutine. None of it blew my mind, but they were great snacks as we played board games. Board Game Recs: - Wavelength: Similar mechanics to Codenames, but with the twist of having to gauge opinions/sentiment. Great for board game beginners and skeptics. - Sheriff of Nottingham: Deception is front and center in this came where you smuggle items into your store. Super simple mechanics, but doesn't support too many players. - Cash & Guns: Fun concept of splitting loot with your fellow criminals after a heist. Supports up to 8 players and fun for both beginner and advanced board game players. For the adventurous, there's also a speakeasy if you can find it!

Yelp
Great spacious board gaming room, restaurant and store. The store has many games to choose from and friendly staff ready to help. For the space, it is very large and there is plenty of space to play games. You can bring your own or play ones they have. For the food, it was good. The potato wedges were cooked great and were crispy. The shrimp and grits was a good portion was was good. There are also a variety of drinks available. Overall, great place to come to grab a bite with friends and play board games. They also have private room available for rent.

Yelp
My favorite place to play some board games and sip on beer! You can grab some drinks and snacks while you're playing games. Not sure what games to play? Just ask the employees at the front desk! They're super knowledgeable and provide recommendations based on your interests. It's a great place to go on a fun date or bring a group of friends. When dining, I personally like to order the garlic parmesan fries and the black raven as my beer of choice. I highly recommend going to Mox to bond with friends!

Yelp
What a cool idea! Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the Seattle area for the first time for work. One of the nights during my visit our team came to Mox to use their big ballroom. When you enter Mox you can't help but be impressed at all the different games. You have Pokémon, Catalan, Monopoly, and a gazillion other choices. We started the night off with drinks and I have to say the appearance coming out was wonderful. I tried a few cocktails and they tasted okay. I'll be honest in that nothing really stood out. Designer cocktails can be fun, but something was off. The food was also decent, but ultimately I hardly had any dinner. Most of my focus was playing a card game with my colleagues. That aspect of the night was a ton of fun! We spent a solid two hours laughing and enjoying ourselves. I did make it to the bathroom once and it was clean. The staff was pleasant albeit a bit slammed by the size of our party (40+). I do want to comment on the amazing brownie that we had for dessert. It was so rich and tasty. I highly suggest their brownie dessert. This concept and the atmosphere are amazing. I wish we had something similar where I live but it looks like we will have to come back next time we are in town.

Yelp
1st time visit and was thoroughly impressed by this huge, new looking, paradise for board games. This place is a combo of places to hang out playing games, a game shop, and restaurant. They even let you check out a variety of games to try for free. If I were to imagine the ideal place for someone who loves board games, this would literally be it. Went on a Sunday and it seemed well staffed and they were attentive.

Yelp
For the love of games, come here! No time limit on your game experience or limited library borrows in store Large tables, booths, seating for small to large parties make games and eats east here... need a room for a huge party or event, they got you too! THE best part of my experience here is the staff! Friendly and knowledgeable for selecting a game from their library to try or buy from their large selection in their adjoining store Need caffeine? Full service barista style menu Food mediocre and a bit cumbersome to play and eat. I'm glad there is eats option regardless of my taking abilities

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening with my 10 year old and husband. We had no reservations and the wait was 20 minutes. Almost no wait to have a "community table," which is a long table with a bunch of seats instead of a separate area for your party. Pros: -good food -polite staff -no need to sign out a game. They just hand you the one you pick to bring to your table to play. Cons: -very loud -after we got our food, our server stopped coming to our table, so no refills for us -small cramped space, so having a group of people with plates of food and a game laid out is chaotic

Yelp
The food has gone down hill and the staff are the rudest I've ever met. Literally just microwaved meals and staff would yell at you for their mistakes. They would say you can sit somewhere or do something then suddenly out of nowhere another staff member would come and yell at you for doing something they said you could. For example, they mistook our gift bag as a food bag and yelled at us for bringing in food. There were electronics type gifts in the bag. Not a single bit of food. We told them these were not food and they can clearly see the content. They didn't apologize, instead kept doubling down that there's no outside food allowed and we should know now. They completely ruined a very special moment because we were asking a friend if she would be a bridesmaid. Our friend was literally in the middle of reading a very heartfelt letter and was tearing up. That staff member has such a big power trip that she did not really see was going on and just wanted to exert control over others. Another example is we asked if we can sit and eat at the game area instead of the restaurant. The person from the restaurant side said it was ok. Then later, another person came and told us we couldn't sit there and offered no solutions. They just said we had to go. I told them to go find us another table since they had said it was ok. Only then did they find a place for us. Another time, they kept moving us from table to table. They didn't give us a reason except they wanted us to move. We moved since we didn't care much. During the last time where they came over to try to move us again, we said no since we were settled and they wanted to move us to a spot that was so dark you couldn't read your game pieces.

Yelp
Service is horrendous. Servers are rude, argumentative, can't do their jobs well. The dishes were dirty, when asked for a new glass, the server inspected it like he didn't believe me and shot me a nasty look. Server didn't bring drinks until after the food arrived. Good didn't arrive for over 45 minutes, so no drinks, no server checking in for nearly an hour! Once food arrived, server complained about being tired, understaffed. Meanwhile, at least 10-14 immature and badly behaved servers were jumping around and being obnoxious, not doing their jobs. When the server was told he did a bad job he went into attack mode and became super nasty. Will never return.

Yelp
It was my first time visiting this place in Bellevue for a work event. It's huge! But we got one of the private room, chose a board game, and ordered lunch. There's a ton of beer options! We even had background music of various games like Mario Cart, Zelda, etc. Plenty of free parking in the front. The service was great too! The waiter checked in on us every so often making sure that we had everything we needed. I'm going to recommend this place to my teenage daughter. I think she'll like hanging out in the restaurant area with her friends. Hot tip, the French fries were outstanding and I'm a French Fries snob!

Yelp
Mox has such a lovely friendly vibe. You don't have to be a hardcore gamer to go here; casual play is just as welcome. They have an inviting retail space and a yummy kitchen with very large tables that are great for gaming. They also have a wide selection of games to borrow. If you're looking to play a quick game of Codenames over lunch, this is the place.

Yelp
I really love this place! It's so fun to visit, and I love that they offer so many games to loan and try. The staff are knowledgeable and really lovely human beings. The inventory is divorce and shelves are well-stocked throughout the year. They always have so many different events running, for so many different interests. The restaurant is generally very good, though a bit pricy; the menu does rotate on a quarterly basis, which is neat. I knocked down one star because the parking lot is beast to contend with.

Yelp
Lots of great things to say about this place. The selection of games, obvious passion of the staff, the way it functions as a third space between work and home in the community, ability to test games in the cafe, well designed use of space, they all make this place stand out. Events are well run. I used to avoid magic events because of many experiences with jerks and hygiene issues but this has a better vibe. The food at the cafe is about two steps better than I would expect at a place like this. The bar has a lot of great options, including they make excellent expresso here. Staff is friendly and all have passion for talking about games. They have even done things like return dropped cards, kept my cell phone safe when I forgot it, handled issues like damaged products or wrong food well. Main downside is the parking situation around the store. arrive early and allow extra time for parking.

Yelp
Great place for meeting up with friends/family to play games. There's some nice variety of seating. You can sit in the restaurant or in the general retail area or a separate area in the back that only has tables (it gets kind of loud there). I always love walking around the retail area to see SO MANY games. The restaurant's food is okay. I've gotten a few different things from the menu now (tofu curry, mac and cheese, poutine, and beet salad) and it's always just okay. I will probably eat before going to Mox the next time I go there. Overall, great place!

Yelp
I love Mox! I've been a fan of Mox and (Formerly) Card Kingdom for forever! The staff is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. This is *the* place to go for MTG, D&D, and pretty much anything tabletop and beyond. They hold a lot of community events and tournaments and it remains a great place for finding like-minded folks. Board games can be demoed free of charge, which is my favorite part of being there. We are often there for hours trying out new stuff. The restaurant is good too, but the menu changes often. I would recommend their Italian sodas and their poutine (when they have it). Mox is often pretty busy, get there early or parking becomes difficult. Parking around the car repair places around the building is a little sketch. That and their restaurant is a little understaffed, we had to go to the bar to close our tab once. I highly recommend Mox Boarding House.

Yelp
A great place to buy a pint and play a game. They have everything! The adult-oriented gaming events are really fun.

Yelp
The BEST board game cafe I've ever been to! I recommend this place to everyone who visits Seattle. The staff are super friendly and helpful with recommending games for groups of all sizes. The last time I was here we had 7 people, and we tried 4 different games and had multiple beverages over 3 hours. The drinks were good and the space was clean and spacious.

Yelp
I've never had a bad experience here, whether I'm coming by myself to pick up cards, with friends and family to get grub, or with a whole crew of work colleagues, Mox has always exceeded my expectations.

Yelp
I just had the worst experience. It was as if the staff felt no responsibility for getting food to folks. We waited for fifteen minutes to order while the server was texting. Then the food came out randomly. The first thing we ordered came out last. We never received some of the drinks and still were charged for it. We were also charged thirty minutes overage for the room while we waited for the food. We were never offered games. I do not recommend anyone go here with a team for an event.

Yelp
This is a review of the restaurant portion of Mox. The best feature of their restaurant is that you can bring in a board game, or borrow one of many from the game store side of the place, and play right at the table while eating/drinking. We borrowed two games (Splendor Duel and Caper: Europe) and played one while waiting for food and eating. This was great and an experience I would come back for, but only to have convenient beer/cocktail service at the table. They have some nice large booths and tables so you can bring in fairly large groups of 6 or more at a table around a larger game. One thing to be aware of is the dining room is large with a tall ceiling, so it gets rather loud even when it's not packed with people. If you're easily bothered by noise then this probably won't be great for you. Staff were very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The drink menu is reasonable: lots of local beers on tap, and a few cocktails that were unique and some that were their take on classics. The food menu for the Bellevue location had a decent selection of appetizer/share items, but only 3 mains. We had the street corn to start (pretty good) and then the rockfish veracruz (fish was good, but covered in not great marinara sauce over white rice--strange to have marinara over rice!) and the South American Mole (looks better on the menu than it is--also over plan white rice again!). The main dishes they offer sound good--like they are putting effort into trying something a little unique--but their recipes are just way off for the two we had. For example, there's a lot that can be done to rice to make it interesting, but they give you a pile of plain white rice with dishes that just don't make sense to do so on. I suspect their burger may be a better bet? I doubt that comes on a bed of white rice Overall, if this dining experience didn't offer board games, this would be a 1 star rating. The staff and board game option make it worth trying. I recommend eating something else before arriving and sticking to drinks and maybe an appetizer to accompany a nice board game experience.

Yelp
there was a time when magic players had to buy from places and people who looked lije the comic shop from the simpsons. Those days are no more: this place looks fantastic like they actually want your buisnesd. they have a ton of people working there in uniforms, and a huge amount of space. great board game and accessory selection. the restaurant is actually pretty fantastic- leather seating in booths and the bacon-wrapped meatloaf is waaaay amazing. there's also a full bar!

Yelp
I came here today for my birthday celebration. The food was meh. I just wanted it to be better. I guess only come here if you want to play games and that's it. I will say their coffee was good.

Yelp
What an amazing spot!!!! I wish we had one of these where I live. The perfect combo of game playing rooms, cocktail lounges, dining areas, private spaces, retail games, and game borrowing! Love this place. Cocktails are inventive and excellent! I had a cocktail with glitter in it, called Glistening Oil (video attached)
