"With additional locations in Boulder and Lyons, Moxie lives up to its name by milling its own heritage grains, so buckwheat, spelt, blue corn, and flaxseed may pop up in muffins, loaves, and such; what’s more, it turns out a few items you don’t see much elsewhere, including bialys and fougasse." - Eater Staff

Everything was tasty, but it was overpriced. A croissant is $6 which is ridiculous. The Jerusalem bagel was tiny—nothing like the real deal—but it was quite good. It would also be great if they had more vegetarian options. The space is a little rough around the edges, but there is ample outdoor seating.

Google
Absolutely amazing baked goods!! I particularly love their kouign amann and king egg flavors. Not to mention delicious coffee and sandwiches on incredible bread. They have a wonderful area in the back with shaded tables and a sand play area for kids. The food and atmosphere at Moxie are hard to beat!

Google
A trip to Moxie is always a treat. Everything here is absolutely delicious but today I focused on one of their chocolate chip cookies and a big walnut brownie. What a great source of energy and gastronomic enjoyment! This is my favorite location because I love the outdoor space. Check out the beautiful Italian outdoor wood fired oven – – what a work of art!

Very cool local bread company. The croissants are amazing. My son got the ciabatta club sandwich which looked good. They have non-dairy milk options. I recommend the latte with oat milk!! Plenty of outdoor rustic/natural seating and even some toys for kids to play with!

Moxie Bread Co. in Louisville is an absolute gem! This cozy little spot serves my favorite sandwich in CO—which is saying a lot. The bread is phenomenal, and the quality of ingredients is unbeatable. It’s the perfect stop in a charming town. I got the Sicilian and a chai, and both were impeccable. They came out quickly, and every bite was perfection. Living in Denver, I’m already wondering when my next Moxie Bread Co. fix will be. It’s well worth the drive, especially on a nice day when you can sit outside, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the town’s quaint atmosphere. 10/10 recommend—can’t wait to bring visitors here!

Google
Lovely cafe. Really nice outdoor space out front and back. Parallel city parking. Nice latte and seasonal syrup is lavender thyme. Matcha is good. Their avocado toast is a bit bland though the bread is great. The bagel is really yum! Loved the ham and cheese croissant. The king egg is a bit too eggy. Great service and friendly vibes. Will come back. Love coming Saturdays before the farmers market (right at 9am is there typically a 5-10 person line so arriving 850 or 915 is helpful).

Google
Ancient grain breads and pastries. Great pastries for breakfast or try their delicious avocado toast. Fresh sandwiches for lunches. Also coffee and espresso drinks.

Google
Nice little place in the heart of Louisville, like walking up to someone's home for a meal. Orders happen at the window, which can unfortunately cause a line to form towards the street, interrupting traffic along the sidewalk. There are some nice tables along the main street and several more behind the building: water is also located in the back. The bread loaves were tasty, yet very hard on the outside with no instruction on how to store or soften. Their sandwiches were tasty!

Yelp
The good? This location of Moxie Bread Co is located in one of my new favorite cities in CO, Louisville. And the pastries? Just as I had dreamt them to be. Flaky, light, and buttery. Also, just as good on day two as they were on day one. A sweet and savory combination was decided between my friend and I. We decided first on a classic, Pain au chocolate, because that is how you judge a patisserie. Which met classic standards. The savory options were fun and new to me. The King Egg - think Kouign-amann but throw a cooked egg in there for good measure. The Spinach Ricotta Crossiant - a spanakopita but make it French. And the last choice was a sweet to balance the savory, the coup de grâce, the Lemon Raspberry Cruffin (a delight). We were served quickly and efficiently as there were many others in line hoping to grab one of their delicious pastries as well. Take your pick from decent inside and outside seating options. Many things don't compare to a consuming strong cup of coffee and a freshly baked croissant in the sunny outdoors on a CO morning.

Yelp
What a treat to stop at Moxie Bread in Louisville for lunch today. When you walk in, you can smell the amazing artisan breads and pastries that are freshly baked. I ordered the Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper soup. Incredibly rich and thick. The grilled cheese Panini was the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever tasted. Oh wow, the delish bread and decadent cheese. My wife was super impressed with the Via Moxie Sandwich. Yum! I hope we make another trip to Moxie for breakfast before we leave on Sunday. I can understand why Moxie was a James Beard semi-finalist in 2018 and 2019. They would get my vote for the best local bakery in the country.

Yelp
Okay, so Paul Hollywood is still giving a handshake! And now, Bubba Sparkx would remix his famous jam to: "Sandy, sandy, sandy, sandy, rockin' everywhere, rockin' everywhere, rockin' everywhere, I found you Neeeeeeew Caaaaaaaledoooooooniaaaaaaa!" The New Caledonia Sandwich has officially become the BEST, MOST TASTY AND MAGICAL sandwich I've had this year. It's filled with hummus, cucumbers, roasted tomato, fresh basil, green goddess and greens. It's extremely well balanced while being a burst of flavor, and it's VEGAN for all my vegan foodies that may have a hard time finding options out. You gotta come here! Also, if you need some meat in your sandwich, Moxie's definitely has some amazing options. Prior to discovering my vegan gem, I'd order the Via Moxie 2.0 Sandwich (a take on an Italian style sandwich) or the Le Club Sandwich (a version of a Turkey Club). Both, very delicious! The staff wraps these sandwiches up great to grab n' go. So if you are headed to the Front Range for a hike, stop off the highway and get it for your hike! You will be so happy when you unwrap this delight at the top of your mountain for a peak picnic. Who knows, maybe you'll be singing Bubba Sparkx new jam as you eat it. ;D

Yelp
Oh my gosh. I had a friend recommend to try this place and it did not disappoint. The bakery is so cute. It is very small inside but they have a lot of seating outside and around the building. It would be so easy to grab coffee and a dessert and walk around downtown Louisville. This is a great place to take that friend that loves coffee and different types of desserts! I had a really hard time choosing a dessert so I chose two. Both of them were so good, but the banana cream pie was definitely better than the chocolate pistachio. The chocolate is very rich so it wasn't my favorite. The staff is very nice and I will definitely be bringing friends/family here!

Alexis M.

Yelp
The Jerusalem bagel was phenomenal. My partner enjoyed all the flavor it came with. The wagyu panini was really cheesy! & had a huge amount of mustard (too much for my liking). No worries tho I never let things go to waste! We sat outside because there was so many people. The place is small which was expected due to it being a house. Staff was friendly and didn't really give any help with what to order. Chai (sweet) was not very chai to be honest. Did not like the flavor or the after taste. The vanilla latte was good and traditional.

Christina M.

Yelp
Great bread bakery and good coffee ordered ham and cheese croissant but they would not heat it up. The Rose latte with orange blossoms are good.

Yelp
I keep going back to Moxie because there's stuff I love, but each time I leave thinking it's not worth it. Last week was no different, except that I went for lunch with a group of friends and all of them were far from impressed with the food and service. A little bit to my relief because with all the great reviews, I was wondering if I was just too picky. I'll start with what I like and why I keep going back. The shaded patio behind Moxie is perfect for groups and the atmosphere inside is cosy and inviting. I love their Kouign Amann, the King Egg, the Ham & Cheese Croissant, which are all perfect options for breakfast, but I find their coffee bitter (and a couple of my friends don't like their cup of Joe either). To me, it's really lunch that's disappointing. Last time I had the avocado toast and I ended up with a big chunk of mashed avocado on grilled bread. That's it. To be fair, I don't like cucumber, so I asked for my order without it, but still! No little bit of onion, or tomatoes or whatever. A couple for my friends ordered the sandwich and were not impressed (I gave up on their sandwich a long time ago). Moxie is popular for their bread, but it seems like it was days old and soft. One of my friends can't eat pork and asked if they would switch the bacon for something else, to be told harshly that it would cost extra (I thought anything else would be cheaper than bacon, but I guess not at Moxie). The kale salad had so much garlic (and I do love garlic!) that we joked it was lucky we were not going on a date later that day. And then, there's the service (or lack of since you order and grab the box with your name on it), which I've never been impressed with. I understand they are usually busy, but a little smile goes a long ways. For a small business it's surprising but I feel more like I am visiting a big fast-food chain, totally impersonal (unless you know the staff, then I noticed the experience seems very different). I may go back again to grab one of the pastries I like, but my friends asked me to remove Moxie from our list of lunch spots. And I must admit I have to agree with their decision.

Yelp
Woman operating the espresso machine is a total troll. Took great joy in making me wait in line 15 minutes for my preorder instead of giving to me. What is the point of a pre-order when you then have to wait in line like everyone else and then wait again will they prepare it from scratch? It literally took more of my time. Then if I had just drove up and waited in line like everyone else. System is broken, but the unpleasant staff makes it even worse. Very rude and did not properly affix lids to cups causing disaster. When I gave her the feedback, she just looked at me and looked away like I didn't say anything. Pastries are great, but I will avoid this place based on this woman alone. Save yourself the nuisance, and just go to Paul's. The sheer irony of her hat saying aloha across the front. There is no love emanating from this curmudgeon. Finally, when I tried to leave the same review on Google maps, it said I could not review this business, which was very strange. They must have a way to block negative reviews with Google.

Danny W.

Yelp
Very cozy bakery and coffee shop. We tried a few of the pastries all of which were great. Seasonal latte and cappuccino were so tasty.

Rita K.

Yelp
Lovely food, place, garden, and people. Thank you for choosing to do your best today. It is appreciated. Keep doing what you're doing. ‍

Brianna T.

Yelp
It's always packed! Order ahead to avoid some of the lines. Great food and coffee and bakery items. Love supporting a small business!

Catherine A.

Yelp
Great food, speedy service, friendly staff! We ordered a sandwich, the apple pie chia pudding, a beer, and an apple cider and all of our items were ready within 5 minutes. The chia pudding is surprisingly filling, pre-made in small mason jars so they'd be very easy to take to go, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! The seating is limited, and they are still observing social distancing, so the only "dine-in" options are the wooden tables outside. The seats are literal stumps and the tables are live edge. I liked the ambience and the perfect fall weather we had for sitting outside. Probably not the best option for a group unless you were getting everything to go. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu and getting some of their bread to go.

Terre L.

Yelp
This became my go to during the pandemic.. I LOVE their blueberry/cornbread muffins.. as well as a number of other things. They have now reopened their indoor area and I'm glad that we still have access to the outdoors in front. I can't wait to have my life in order so that I have time to walk there regularily for my daily dirty chai, etc. I haven't had it, but I heard that their "preordered lasagne" is to die for... on my agenda for the future. Just had their avocado toast.. Yummy..small size is more than enough for me..

Sierra S.

Yelp
From lattes to baked goodies, Moxie never disappoints. The quality is consistent whether you're staying or taking drinks to go. If you need a baked loaf for holidays (or daily life), the Moxie sourdough is delicious. My only wish is that they had more extensive interior seating. I would love to settle in for an afternoon to work, but this is often difficult as their seating area is small and usually full.

Chandana K.

Yelp
Its a cute little bakery in Louisville and I love this place! As a baking enthusiast myself, I got so carried away looking at the freshly baked bread options :D I tried their Algerian Baguette, the Chocolate Croissant, the New Caledoneia Sandwhich and cappuccino. I loved them all. The sandwhich was so fresh and yummy! The staff was really nice and were very quick with the order. You also can see the kitchen where the sandwich is prepared and it was impressively neat! I cannot wait to go back here and try their other bread options.

Angela B.

Yelp
Easy online purchasing process. Bread is great and GF brownies are to die for! Wish they offered coffee service, but there's a nice coffee shop across the street.

Luis G.

Yelp
Was visiting some homies in Denver and came through Friday morning (Vet's Day) to get our day started. Cool looking location, friendly folks working and great offerings. We kept it pretty simple with a chocolate croissant and some black tea & espresso, but my friend and I (the visitors) decided to jump on their smoked salmon jerusalem bagel and it was very good, exactly what we needed to get our day going! Definitely check it out if haven't already!

Peg H.

Yelp
A must try when you are in Louisville! The restaurant is in the cutest building. Super sweet staff & super tasty food & beverage .

Darren H.

Yelp
If you're in Louisville stop here. Amazing bread, amazing pastries and bottomless coffee. Not a lot of seating inside.

Danielle L.

Yelp
Best bread, vegetarian options and delectable sandwiches! An absolute delight for indulgence! The only seating, however, is outside and not comfortable enough unless you're lucky to procure a bench seating table at a community table (all tables are community). If you're cool with, then you'd love enjoying your food there. Otherwise, very easy to carry-out!

Russell C.

Yelp
I was looking for good quality bread in Boulder area. Moxie is probably the best I've found so far with Dry Storage second. As for lunch at Moxie/Louisville, the sandwich's are pretty tasty but on the pricey side. The pastries were excellent. Not the most comfortable eating area inside so you might as well go outside.

Kara H.

Yelp
Their coffee and pastries are fabulous. What a great little shop with a home town feel. Right off Main Street so it's easy to access when you want to stop and pick something up on the way home or to work. Parking on the side of the street or across the way. We had their peach danish which was made with local palisade peaches. It was really flaky and crispy but soft, and lightly sweet. Highly recommend!

Sofia I.

Yelp
Great little stop in the historic downtown of Louisville. Lox tartine and a cup of coffee on their outdoor patio was the perfect way to start my morning.

Scott P.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. I'm no hippie but everyone there is and I love it. The food is great. The service is awesome.

Jen R.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches, salads and coffee in downtown Louisville area! The portions are big enough to share or for leftovers. They are rated as one of the best locations for sourdough bread in Boulder county (although not my favorite, I would never pass up the opportunity to buy a loaf when I am passing through). There are a few bench areas right in front of the storefront to allow you to sit in the sun and enjoy a simple lunch! Oh the pastries are all very delicious!

Jamie M.

Yelp
I'm in love with this quaint little place! I came 3x over the course of the summer as a field day tradition and ordered the one vegan option each time-- the New Caledonia sandwich. While I would love more vegan options, i am happy with this one, with roasted red bell peppers, hummus, cucumber, and some other vegetables on what I think is ciabatta? I'm not sure, it has the same crustiness as ciabatta, but the inside is much softer and the bread is brown. The portion is quite large, and it's nice to have half for lunch and the other half for lunch the next day! It's fresh and hearty! Love it. I've only tried one pastry, the blue corn blueberry muffin. Unfortunately I waited too long to eat it and it got absolutely demolished in my backpack, so I am not a reliable source on the texture of the muffin. But, the taste was wonderful, not too sweet. I will have to try this muffin again next summer. My friends love their strawberry iced tea! I think it is just OK-- I like it more for the fact it is a cold drink rather than the actual taste/flavor. More vegan options would warrant 5 stars.

Thomas R.

Yelp
The smell is so welcoming! I am waiting for a friend getting a haircut nearby so decided to get another coffee (one home brewed tumbler in....) The woman at the register was very nice, and my latte was crafted quickly and had the perfect soft foam texture. I got a croissant which was so flakey and buttery! What a nice place to pop into! I'll have to tell my local friends to try the bread because at least based on smell, it must be really good!

Kelly K.

Yelp
Always so good! Been to Moxie many times and am never disappointed. I even have a Moxie t-shirt!

Karah P.

Yelp
Best desserts and bread in the Boulder area. Fresh food and fresher pastries. The outside sitting area in the back is really nice to be in.

Rundi B.

Yelp
A bit disappointing at least the salad that I tried. It's a mountain of lettuce with a little bit of boiled carrots, beets, seeds and a small dressing. It's hard to dress it and eat it. I ate a bunch of lettuce and then did the old shaky shaky but even that didn't quite do the trick. A little bit more substance for $12 would be good. The brownie was good.

Max G.

Yelp
We had lunch at Moxie Bread and ordered two Sicilian sandwiches and one Le Club. The bread is very good and there is a lot of it on each sandwich, probably too much in ratio to the meats and other ingredients. Consequently, the sandwiches are OK, not great, especially at the prices they charge. The staff is very friendly.

Mark N.

Yelp
Not what it used to be! Sad but unused to look forward to getting bread from the bakery. But they have now been inconsistent and mediocre on multiple occasions. Even wrote them to point out some obvious opportunities and did not get a sincere reply addressing the under proofed, or over baked bread.

Chris M.

Yelp
Super yummy breads pastries, and croissants. Got there early one morning to catch a fresh batch of their King Egg dough thingy....soo good and a great breakfast paired with a mocha. Great service too!

Michele S.

Yelp
Moxie is a nice spot for a relaxing weekend coffee and pastry. Always very good. The reason for not giving 5 stars is due to their prices. Definitely more on the expensive side, which deters me from going there more frequently.

Laura M.

Yelp
So good. The quinoa brownies are delish. We ordered the pecan and cinnamon rolls and the Kouign Amann for xmas morning and they were sooooo delicious. And if you're looking for lunch their sandwiches are amazing!

Meredith C.

Yelp
We love your food!!! We've been going here for years and will continue to do so regularly. It's rustic and homemade and I feel like so much love is being baked into that amazing bread. Your GF bread is so delicious!

Mel J.

Yelp
Great bread, one of the best bakeries around Boulder.

Rufina M.

Yelp
To die for. That's how I would describe the bread and pastries. Also had the avocado toast on a perfectly toasted slice of their bread. O.M.G. Going back tomorrow before I head home to California.

Katherine H.

Yelp
I got the lox bagel and it was so yummy! Great local coffee shop and quick service. A very laid back atmosphere!

Cee E.

Yelp
The service is great and everyone here is really friendly and helpful! Food is good. Great selection of sweet and savory pastries. If you are there for the Cruffin or Kougin Aman don't expect them to taste authentic, it is CO after all. So this one comes with a western/ mid western touch. Which is that it is too darn sweet. Smothered in sugar unlike what your may expect like at Dominique Ansel. Other pastries I tried are also very very sweet. The butter croissant was too buttery (I know, I know not something I should not complain about as I absolutely love butter, but there should be a balance). The King Egg was good but again felt very heavy. I love that this little CO bakery is the only one (at least I know of) that has these options on the menu. And the people are just lovely!

Paul N.

Yelp
Wow. Stopped here where having our bikes serviced. Order your food at window and sit outside under the trees. Street is closed so no cars parked or going by. Very relaxing Sandwiches are large so we split one and added a salad. Definitely recommend While we were here, two women playing guitars and singing. Folk style music

Paula M.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent people SANDWICHES are a game changers Be kind

Ane J.

Yelp
I always love moxie croissants in the morning and their chicken salad sandwich. I also recommend the moxie elexir. Great place ran by great people

Natalie W.

Yelp
Moxie has a great set up where you order at the door and then they bring your order through another exit. They have plenty of outdoor table seating that's cozy and very pet friendly. I got the spiced rose chai which had a delicious kick but balanced with some honey notes. Their baked goods and fresh bread were phenomenal. Definitely recommend the blueberry corn muffin, blueberry amann, and Via moxie sandwich. Their breads were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There was a line Sunday morning but it was so worth it.

Brigitte T.

Yelp
Moxie bread has the best bread in Boulder County. They are very careful to use the best of the best flour available in this country with no chemicals, grown the old fashion way and respectful of the environment. I wish there was more of them .

Eleanor E.

Yelp
Well this small place with amazing food and treats! There pastries are incredible. Caramel cinnamon roll with pecans is my favorite! Their turkey sandwich on there amazing bread is so tasty! They also have a large assortment of great coffees and teas! There always a line but it's worth the wait! Great staff working there and they are very friendly.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The cutest, coziest, friendliest, cheeriest, environmentally friendly little spot. I love, love, love, this place. As soon as you walk in you're filled with the warmth from the kitchen and some wonderful coffee and bread scents. It's like a big hug. The staff and patrons are also so friendly. It was a little crowded around lunchtime and multiple people offered to share their table with me. I had a really relaxing lunch break. I ordered the new caldeonia sandwich and a hot botanical tea. The sandwich was huge. Oven warm bread as a base, fresh vegetables, and creamy vegetables made my day. The hot tea was also delicious, and I was able to top it off with someone honey. I really enjoyed my time at Moxie and I look forward to bringing friends here. Can't wait to come back and try one of their salads.

Gus S.

Yelp
The bread is a little dry for sandwiches and they dont add enough fat (oil, avocado, ect.) to soften it up. The curry sandwich was a typical chicken salad sandwich. Good but not $12 sandwich good. They do have good chai, a nice place to sit and enjoy a sunny day, and very friendly workers. Bring home a load of bread to add to your home meals but I'd avoid the sandwiches if thats what's you're looking for.

Alex H.

Yelp
A Louisville institution, Moxie is a great grab-and-go coffee and pastry spot in downtown. You'll find a long line on the weekends, but service tends to be quick and there's usually plenty of seating out front. Their pastries are great, and I can especially recommend their Kouign-Amann. It's sort of a sweeter croissant muffin? They're fantastic. You can expect above-average prices, but I think the quality makes it a fair tradeoff.

Benny H.

Yelp
Pretty good spot. Lots of bread and goodies. Colorado is pretty nice state and this place really gives you a feel for Colorado. Everyone here is extremely nice and serve you with a huge smile. Doesn't hurt that the food is really good too. Overall a pleasant experience. Thumbs up.
