Moxies Houston Restaurant

Came here to grab a quick bite. I was surprised this restaurant was very nice! Very good atmosphere. The music was the right volume and appropriate for the night. The food was seasoned well. There was a whole Section dedicated to vegetarian options. Which is always a plus! I actually did the red Thai curry with no protein extra veggies. The naan was very well made. The meal came out perfectly. And I also had the Brussels sprout no bacon. The orders were all correct. And swift. I would definitely come Back! The bathroom was very nice and clean.

This is a very laid back, yet sexy venue in the heart of River oaks. Not only can you catch a game, but this is an exquisite place to take your girl out on a date. The downstairs bar is always lively and the outside patio is vibrant and effervescent. The salmon is superb and overall the food and drinks are delicious as well.

I came here on a date with my boyfriend and the service, food, and atmosphere was amazing. We didn’t have to wait to be seated and when it started getting cold our server wasted no time turning their outdoor heaters on the ensure we were warm. They have an amazing selection of both cocktails and mock-tails for those who don’t want liquor! The food was so yummy and the stick toffee pudding was perfect! We sat for quite a long time and never felt rushed to get out if the restaurant, I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We were a party of four and decided to sit outside since weather was nice. Atmosphere was cool, music was vibing and service was good and fast. We had the Steak Salad (9.5/10 I recommend getting the steak medium plus), nachos (7/10), shrimp tacos (8.5/10) and the potstickers (9/10) and to top it off we got french toast (9.5/10) Would definetly come back and try the lettuce wraps and burgers because they looked delicious

Upscale restaurant with great food and wonderful service. Rose was super sweet and accommodating. Lovely patio area and I was impressed by the shrimp tacos and a decent sized side of Guac with chips. Bf loved the burger. Would definitely go back!

I enjoyed the overall atmosphere here; inside, patio, and bar are available for seating. We were told we had a 30 minute wait and ended up only waiting maybe 15 minutes. Service was good, gratuity/tip automatically added and it was only 2 of us. The maple glazed brussel sprouts appetizer was my favorite, tropic thunder drink from the "zero proof" drink menu was refreshing, and enjoyed the fresh cut French fries... The rest was a bit underwhelming considering the prices here. The short rib Bolognese, the meat was not tender and I've had better Bolognese sauce but did enjoy the bread that came with it. The southern fried chicken sandwich was underseasoned and not that crispy. I think this place would be a good spot for drinks and appetizers.

The restaurant is gorgeous with amazing food and service. It is on the pricier side but if you are willing to spend an extra buck I definitely recommend this place, it is worth it!! I got the chipotle chicken and it did not disappoint!

The food and service are average at best. I’ve been here a bunch of times usually because other people want to meet here or because of the convenient location. I’m not sure why people love this place. Here’s what we ordered today 👇🏾: 💙 FRENCH DIP* roasted beef, pretzel bun, sautéed mushrooms, swiss cheese, creamy dijon horseradish + au jus. ($19) 🧐 The Houston location has a bad habit of serving old fries. It’s like they make them in bulk and then just have them sitting in the kitchen waiting to be ordered. I send the fries back every time. 🔶 BREAKFAST TACOS: potato, egg, chorizo, salsa, avocado, feta, served with tajin chips & guacamole, $16 🔷 AVOCADO TOAST: santa fe style avocado toast with pico & bean salsa, toasted ciabatta, $14 🔶 VEGETARIAN HUEVOS RANCHEROS: sunny-side eggs, cheese & black bean filled tortillas, bell peppers, ancient grains, enchilada sauce + avocado 🥑 , vegetarian $14; add chicken $3 🧐 The food was just okay. Half of it was cold. The hash browns had no flavor. 🧐 Service was a bit slow even though it wasn’t that busy. 🧐 During brunch they added a 20% gratuity even with a party or just two people. 🤔 Drinks are expensive ✅ The restaurant is cute and clean ✅ Free and easy parking 🅿️ in the shopping plaza lot ✅ Valet is available (in the evenings for sure)

I have been coming to moxi for a long time now. One of the kindest most lovely bartender no longer works there. Her name is Russia and it is always a pleasure to see her and I was not able to see her this time when I came by. I moved away to Dallas for a little while, but every time I come back, I take my friends to this place. I would give this a five star rating but because I no longer see her it's a little bit harder because she was an amazing waitress and bartender. It's a shame.

It's always a vibe at Moxies. I requested a table near the windows upstairs in my reservation, and they were sure to oblige. My waiter Aaron was very accommodating, attentive, and personable. He had great recommendations such as the smoked old fashioned and the blacked chicken sandwich. My friend and I shared an order of potstickers 9/10 they're delicious, and I love the salsa that comes with them. I ordered the cheeseburger 10/10, and my friend ordered the black chicken sandwich. 9/10 Both our meals came our swiftly and cooked to perfection. The burger was bursting with flavor. Besides the old fashioned I tried the pineapple spicy margarita. It was ok. I'd give it a 6/10 I was wanting more spice and more pineapple flavor. The smoked old fashioned with whistle pig was phenomenal so smooth. The restaurant is visually appealing ,clean, spacious, and in a good location. Parking can be hard to find in the lot, but they do offer valet for $8

I recently visited Moxie's for a friend's birthday dinner and had a great time. Every item on the menu is carefully crafted to provide a perfect blend of unique flavor in each sip or bite. I ordered the calamari, chicken lettuce wraps, and steak frites. If I had to start one, bench one, cut one I would start the Calamari, bench the Steak Frites, and cut the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. You can't go wrong with any of them though! I've also had the chipotle mango chicken and it was delicious. For cocktails I would recommend the classic or spicy jalapeño margarita. Moxie's does a great job with lighting, the lights are low but not too dark. Even when the place is packed it's still easy to focus on your table without much distraction. There are TVs set up in convenient areas around the restaurant so you get a decent view of the game from any angle. Our server Lily was really nice and very attentive, she made sure our dinner experience was outstanding. The hosts and runners were great as well, they were very welcoming. We will definitely be back.

I visited Houston for the first time this past weekend with friends and before we headed to the airport, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. A friend recommended Moxies and I now see why! The service was top-tier. Our waitress was Jenny who was quiet but attentive. When asked, she provided great recommendations. The manager also came to check on us while dining. The food and drink options varied on the menus. There were ample gluten-free and vegan options available for patrons like myself who have gluten sensitivities. I had the Calamari and shrimp along with the lettuce wraps that I was able to substitute shrimp for. For my entree, I had the Blackened Mahi Mahi that can with corn hash and mashed potatoes. All dishes were well-seasoned and delicious. Would definitely recommend.

I came here for brunch with a few of my girls when I was in Houston. It is HUGE! All of the servers were gorgeous and overall the place was chic! We started with the mimosa special which was a bottle and 2 juices! We started off with the nacho appetizer which is humongous! Easily can be shared with a group. I ordered the breakfast tacos but I was honestly pretty full after those nachos. Everything was really good and I would definitely come back

I've been here a few times and it always has such a great ambiance and vibe (literally can come dressed in casual or classier date night - there are few dress code restrictions like no bball shorts but nothing crazy). Started with drinks which were very good & refreshing! Then came our appetizer of guacamole & tajin chips - I was a little hesitant with the chips because wasn't sure what to expect but these were delicious!! The tajin was not too subtle but not at all overpowering- it gave the chips a nice kick and made them quickly devoured especially when paired with fresh guacamole! Main courses were the ribeye & short rib bolognese pasta. I'm such a fan of a good Bolognese pasta but this left more to be desired and seemed bland compared to the ribeye. The steak was seasoned so well and juicy that I ended up eating more of that than my actual pasta. Steak bordered on the salty side BUT it was slight and forgivable. I would hands down return for that steak!

First off I will be going back! Food was insane! There are so many options I want to try. The mango chipotle chicken is just ridiculous. I'm never a chicken breast type person but it was juicy and the quinoa was seasoned and cooked well! The pasta is insane as well I should have got it as a main course but next time! The lettuce wraps are definitely a great lunch option as well just healthy option as well! Everything we got was a must get so you will have options! We went for a friend birthday dinner! The service was quick we had like two three servers for 12 people. The ambiance was invited clean and modern. Don't walk RUN!

Customer service with patrons that are visiting the establishment. Plus not charging 20% gratuities for two people seated at the bar. I expect if there is a six person party, but not for two people at the bar. After bringing to the person's attention the manager was not understanding and put the person that was paying through hoops only for the person to have to dispute the charges with the bank. Not a fan after this experience.

I made a reservation the day before, for Super Bowl Sunday x valentines weekend and what a great decision! In summary: The portions are huge, the food is delicious, and there are so many options on the menu!!! It's also such a pretty building (in a pretty area) with 2 floors AND patio seating. Despite it being a super busy day, our service was timely! Since the Super Bowl was on every single screen it also was pretty fun sharing that game day experience with everyone there. Especially during the halftime show!

Returned to moxies for the first time after a couple years. We celebrated my step dad's bday and the service was amazing. We had a booth near the tvs which was perfect for him. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Will definitely be adding back into rotation. The bday dessert was an ice cream cake with a good balance of all ingredients .

Came in on a Friday night around 7:30, we had a reservation so we were sat upstairs almost immediately. The restaurant has ample space and it has a nice vibe overall. For appetizers we had steak bites and calamari which were both okay really nothing to write home about. The steak was a bit chewy but it was manageable. For our entrees we had nachos, short rib bolognese, and blackened shrimp tacos. Again all the entrees were just okay. Overall, our experience was mediocre, not bad but not great. I'm not sure I'll be returning, it's a decent place for girls night, but don't come expecting much from the food.

Food and service was good! They accommodate allergies and additions to meal very well. It was very nice spot for a girls night or date night. Great ambience and music setting. Would definitely go back for a cute casual dinner or pregame before a night out!

Spot by for a quick bite during brunch and wasn't crowded at all, got there early as well.. Sat at the bar and the service was really good and fast, the hostess was friendly and helpful.. I had the breakfast omelette which was good and came with side of toast and potatoes.. Bar area down stairs was connected to the patio and had plenty of TV's to show the March Madness games.. Can't never go wrong with Moxies because the food and service is always consistent whenever I come to Houston.

Bbq ribs with the stuffed potatoes. Delicious meal. Everything was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Recommend

Chill atmosphere and I enjoyed sitting outside in the lounge area. The staff are attentive and the food is decent. They have a wide range of food and drinks to choose from. Good date night

My sister told me she wanted to take me here next time I was in town and we finally made it happen and I was not disappointed! It's been a long time that I've been to a restaurant that I really was impressed with. I love how big and open the restaurant, I felt like I was on vacation in Miami. Everything we ordered was delicious! The steak bites were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The sauce with the tuna stack was perfect. The sushi hand rolls were a perfect bite. Calamari has shrimp pieces too, nice touch. It left me wanting to come back during my 3 week trip. I do wish there were maybe 2 more salad options, maybe a basic salad and something else. Either way, I'm coming back and recommending it to my friends.

My nephew recommended this place as it was my fist time in Houston. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in awhile. They got everything right the ambiance, food, and the service was top notch. The funniest thing happened in this day. We came here twice in one day. So me and my family came for lunch not knowing my nephew would want us to have dinner here as well. But we still came because the food was that good! My top picks the bruschetta with roasted tomatoes at first bite I was in love. The sushi cones and that fabulous steak perfectly cooked with a tiny bit of fat. If you were to reserve a seat reserve for the second level, boot seating, and more intimate. The downstairs is "Barsi" is what my nephew called it. The place looks very upscale and the service is great. All the staff were all smiles. By the way the restrooms are clean, that's a big plus! Lastly, there is a dress code. Don't come is gym clothes they will turn you away. Make sure to check out the the dress code!!! There's plenty of parking but was hard to find a spot. Moxies offers valet though. I recommend this place 110%. Note: I give the e food 5 stars

This is my second time coming here while visiting friends in Houston and it is always a great spot. We stopped by for a late lunch with some friends after shopping at the Galleria and all of the food was amazing and looks pretty as well. The salmon salad came out and I was in awe by how visually appealing it was. We also got the potstickers and chips and guac that were very flavorful. We did sit outside this time because it was a nice day. We got seated very fast but I will say the service was a little slow just to get drinks or anything in. I would definitely go back again for the food, I am sure it is a great date night spot as well!

Ambiance is casual and laid back. Good and service were great. Tables are available for reserve. Our table was an hour wait, so my group just grabbed seats at the bar.

I like Moxies & i love that they stay open late. The food, service and ambiance is good. Definitely my go to.

This place has a really trendy vibe! Nice ambiance upstairs. I only had dessert - the mile high mocha pie and a piece of the sticky toffee pudding. Both were delicious. Be aware that the pie is 95% ice cream, so you have to be ok paying that price for mostly ice cream. But it went well with the crumbly cookie middle and crust and the almonds and caramel/chocolate on top. Nice presentation! I would like to come back and try one of their regular menu items. Definitely worth another visit!

The food was amazing and our server was even better. I went for dinner, which was around the happy hour time . My girlfriends and I had a time. I got the French onion soup and the red Thai curry. One friend got the chicken Cesar salad and another got the fresh guacamole with chips and the salmon cobb salad. The place is on the cold side , temperature wise .

Such good vibes and ambiance every time we have been here. We had the most attentive and fun waitresses! The chicken rigatoni and bread pudding were so good!

Came here with friends before having a night out due to the great location. The appetizers were a perfect portion for sharing. We order the steak bites, calamari, and chicken lettuce wraps. The steak bites ended up being my personal favorite, with all pieces being perfectly cooked at medium rare. Mostly loved their cocktail selection - finding a more rare inventory. The staff was als very pleasant and lively. The atmosphere was also causally elegant.

The brunch/lunch place where it always seems everyone is having fun. Casual food but with well dressed waitstaff makes it a bit different. Excellent salads , I had ginger tuna and my wife had power bowl. Good breakfast options as well in particular the huevoes rancheros . We also had calamari to start which was great. Only down was everything was just so big. Bellini's and such for morning drinks. Inside and outside seating though long line on the latter on a day like today.

Very nice, great people and the ambience here is excellent. The smoke is old-fashioned and the food here is excellent.

Healthy vegetarian bowl anyone? The cauliflower rice and curry below the colorful toppings paired for a savory and healthy lunch. Loved the vibes of this spot! The cocktail menu with espresso martini's and plenty of other amazing options, make this place a must for multiple visits to experience everything the menu has to offer. Cheers!

I always enjoyed my time at Moxies - the outside patio bar in particular! It's a nice spot to enjoy the evening with picturesque string lights and a nice ambiance. My bartender was extremely nice and accommodating. I ordered the veggie burger and fries. Moxies has an extensive menu for all tastes and budgets. Their wine/beer and cocktail list is expansive. Onsite parking available. A fun, Instagram-y spot for enjoying great food and drinks.

Saturday night around 10pm, no wait time we asked to be seated first available Our waitress was very helpful with the me and drinks. She was also very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was very chill with sexy vibes Food was amazing! Bruschetta- bread was nice a toasty with a garlic flavor. The cheese was a little over whelming with a either lemon or dill flavor. However all the flavors paired well together Beef vindaloo- they knock the Indian dish out of the park! All the flavor and spices where there. The naan bread was perfection Blackened Mahi-mahi- a lot of food. The fish was cool nicely. It laid on a bed a chorizo/corn and mashed potatoes. For me personally I like all the flavors, just not together Recommend!

Amazing spot! We shared appetizers among the group and I got the steak salad as an entree. One of the best salads I've had. Brussel sprouts and steak bites were great. Steak was cooked to perfection! Our server was great, continuously checked in on us.

Back in early February, we did a team dinner here. Figured since we were hard at work, we should unwind and bond over some eats and drinks and this spot kept popping in my head since the team asked me to pick a place. Since I had been here before and fellow Yelpers had reviewed this place with positivity, this was the spot. Reservations were made via OpenTable and the party was seated upstairs. I had arrived late but after arriving on the top floor, the hostess immediately knew my name and led me to the table. Upon arriving, I'm greeted by our server who lets me know it's happy hour (HH) for another 15 minutes and with our crew already having ordered their beverage, I doubled up on the ol fashions and we ordered some apps on HH including the guacamole, poutine, and bruschetta. The guac is quite tasty and one of the better guacs I've had. Poutine has tons of cheese for you cheese fans like myself. Wish it had a bit more gravy though. The bruschetta, it has the toasted baguettes on the side and you scope the tomatoes and ricotta on top. A bit unorthodox as I prefer traditional bruschetta but whatever makes people happy. For the entrees I went with the Salmon avocado cobb salad which was basically a stacked wedge salad with the wedge of lettuce on the bottom, then layers of avocado, tomatoes, hard boiled egg, the salmon, and crispy bacon on top. Presentation looked dope and it tasted delicious although the salmon could've used a little more seasoning. Other co-workers mostly got pastas and sandwiches (typical corporate boring eats) which they enjoyed. Most of them ordered the chicken rigatoni and crispy chicken sandwich, everyone finished them and were stuffed afterwards. I mean, how could you not be stuffed after eating apps, entrees, and washing them down with cocktails and beers!? Service was on the money as our server was attentive and made sure we had what we had. Also appreciate her warning us about happy hour ending allowing us to get a last round of drinks in at the HH price before it shut down. There's a lot to like about this place with the atmosphere, location, drinks, and food. It's gonna be pricy so be prepared to spend. But it's definitely worth it!

FIRST TIME @ Moxies. I loooooved the classy upper echelon ambiance of this restaurant it is absolutely beautiful. The service and hospitality was one of my favorite parts of the experience that Moxies provided, we were checked on continuously. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and chips/guacamole as appetizers. The Brussel sprouts were extremely flavorful and fresh. The guacamole was mouth watering left the bowl scrapped clean. To follow that up my wife had the salmon and I chose a light miso soup ramen. The salmon was tender and cooked perfectly to medium. The brown rice was a great compliment. While the ramen had a extremely fresh herb flavor that will cleanse your soul. Moxies did not disappoint if you're downtown you should go

Moxies is a really good place for drinks! The ambience is beautiful and if you sit on the patio you can enjoy a nice view and hopefully a little breeze. I've never had an issue with the service here. Service is always courteous and not overbearing. The food can be hit or miss however if you stick with the basics there's nothing to complain about. Solid fries, tacos, and other items to munch on. I recommend Moxies as a great place to pre-game before you head out. The drinks and the atmosphere never disappoint. This is a great place for your next girls night out.

Food was great and so was the ambiance. The weather is perfect for patio dining. I wasn't aware they had wine Wednesday and it was a Wednesday night. We ordered a bottle of one of my favs- the prisoner and had a nice evening. I also ordered a carajillo because I'm on the hunt for the best one. It was alright.

Hello Yelpers!!! I'm in the H-Town meeting friends for lunch so we decided on Moxies. First off I like the fact that there was ample parking and free valet until 4pm. We walked in and the place looked great. We sat outside and placed our order. All I can say is everything was great and the food came in large portions. The drinks were delicious as well. The price of the food was reasonable, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was so sweet and the ambiance I loved. Especially the kool pictures on the wall. Do you know what else I noticed guys.....the bathroom was clean and it smelled nice. I have pictures so please enjoy!!!! Be sure to stop by if you are ever by the Galleria in Houston, Tx. Ciao xxx

If you're feeling mixy head to Moxie's! This restaurant and bar is perfect for pre-gaming or checking out a game. The service is decent and the food a notch above average. My favorite is the salmon avocado cobb salad.

I love any cocktail bar that has a vibe! Moxies is a great place to hang out for a bit and unwind with good company. I was in town for a wedding so I met one of my friends here to catch up. The food was pretty decent - not a fan of the tuna sushi stack, but I enjoyed the vegan potstickers (still seemed like a frozen meal), Brussel sprouts and Thai chili chicken. My cocktail was ok - I'm not a fan of aperol which overwhelmed the taste. The atmosphere is what gives it the 4 star rating

We went to Moxies for brunch/lunch. It was a great day in houston, so the patio was the better option. Our waitress Stephanie was great, friendly and attentive. Inside is really cute, so i think it can be nice for a dinner date night. For brunch, they have a $30 bottle of bubbles(and not Andre). I actually ended up getting a burger and I was not mad at it *although the hostess started my visit on the wrong foot- i wont fault the whole business because Stephanie made up for it. I just wish I remembered the name of the hostess.

Yeah I love this place. The bartenders are THE BEST! This place is such a vibe. I love this place so much and I can't wait to come back. The sticky toffee pudding is delicious! Hugo spritz is my favorite drink. The bruschetta was good but a bit too salty for me.

I was visiting the area for a conference and hopped by moxies to grab a light dinner to go so I could work from my room. I really appreciated the large vegetarian selection I decided to try the lettuce wraps be because of all the good reviews. It did not disappoint the flavors were varied and meshed so well together. It was all packed very well and the yuzu sauce was the cherry on top. I was incredibly impressed. I almost considered getting this for much the next day it was soooo good!!

We popped over here after leaving another restaurant that we weren't able to try food at, and I'm sure glad we chose here! It was such a nice day out and they have a great patio space that we wanted to sit in. As we waited to be called for our table, we headed to the bar to grab a drink. We were greeted promptly by a smiling bar tender that happily took our drink orders and had them out swiftly! The ambiance of the bar connected to the outside patio was quite nice, bc you could feel a nice breeze. We were so hungry that we decided to actually order our food from the bar. And of course, a few mins after ordering our food, our patio table was ready. The bartender was so great and understanding, and we paid out our tab and headed out to the table. Our food was brought not too much longer outside to the patio and everyone that we interacted with had such a great smile and great attitude, so it really made for a wonderful experience. You could tell a lot of communication was going on throughout all the staff as everyone was constantly moving and checking on us and other guests. Once we were done, they cleared the table, which I LOVE! I hate sitting at a dirty table, especially if you'd like to relax, enjoy the weather and order more drinks. We will definitely be back to this place when it warms up again. I love the Dallas location so I'm happy that the houston one lives us to it as well!

Nice place for drinks, they type of place you go to after work for drinks or a cute date night. I came here on a Wednesday evening, it was busy but not packed. We sat at the bar upstairs for drinks. The cosmopolitans were delicious and service was quick. Didn't order any food but my friend who has been there before said the food is not the greatest.

Came here for a company lunch and it was a great pick! We ordered steak bites, sushi, bruschetta board, potstickers, and it was delicious. I got the spicy tuna roll, not my favorite -it had carrot and I think that's weird. Drinks were tasty- got the Marky Marg- which is a pineapple margarita. I'd recommend to come for happy hour, the menu looked good & for a good price! Our waitress took great care of us! Thanks- Tori!

‼‼‼ CUSTOMERS BEWARE, A 20% TIP IS AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED ‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼ I've been to moxies many times all over Texas. My favorite is the one in downtown Dallas so I thought I would try this moxies and I am disappointed. First, since when was tip included automatically for two people? Our service was okay, not terrible but very dry and not the best. I'm a firm believer in tipping what people deserve, I would not have tipped 20% because that's not what I was served. I wonder if I missed it posted somewhere but I think it should be mentioned on the menu that tip is automatically included. Also, after this you also get an additional recipient if you want to add an additional tip to the automatic tip, anyone who doesn't pay attention will probably end up tipping again. Just wanted to warn any future customers.

Just a heads up, whether you're a party of 1 or 10, your bill will be charged an automatic 20% gratuity. Management claims it is on their website but I'd like them to post a screenshot of that because I only see a statement of "gratuity added for a party of 6 or more". But I will add, I was glad to pay the automatic gratuity and I actually added more on top because requiring your waitresses, to adhere to a dress code of heels, tight skirts and dresses and work 8 hours on their feet all day, makes me think they deserve that money. Other than that glitch in the system, I still was happy to give this establishment 5 stars. The location is fabulous, in the heart of Galleria. Great place if you have out of town visitors. There is valet. Indoor and outdoor seating, with great outdoor shaded views of post oak. Great selection food items. Clean bathrooms. Thumbs up to any restaurant that serves mocktails. Everything we ordered was super delicious. Great for birthdays, gatherings, dates, and although I saw a kid or two, I don't think it's kid friendly. I enjoyed everything about our lunch. I'm looking forward to going back many times and already told many friends about this new find.

Moxies is for the vibe and not so much the food. Food was pretty good but definitely on the pricy side. Adding 20% gratuity prior is just a thing that's becoming more and more prominent in Houston. Hate it, but what can you do.

Been here a couple times. First time the staff was great, two days later horrible. Drinks & food is way overpriced for what you get. Atmosphere is pretty good/ trying to look high class & I guess that's what they are expecting you to pay for.

When I booked reservations, I didn't realize this was mostly a sports bar and restaurant combined. We were seated promptly, but downstairs next to the bar which unfortunately had rowdy group celebrating their Christmas party. This place can get loud, so if you want to hear your date talk, ask to be seated upstairs. There is a dress code. Hint --- wear black. All the waitresses are attractive and wear fairly tight black dresses, so I can see why a lot of guys would come here for HH and to watch games. Regardless of the atmosphere, our waitress was nice, but was definitely trying to up sell us. We started with the calamari appetizer which was fresh. No rubbery calamari here and also mixed with fried shrimp and a sweet chilli and chipotle mayo dipping sauces. It was topped with shishitio peppers, which we were both hesitant to eat at first, but ended up enjoying. I ordered the filet mignon 6 oz along with quinoa and seasonal vegetables ($41). Everything was delicious. The filet was perfect and tender at medium rare. Usually at fine dining places, I find the sides subpar. However, the brocollini was flavorful and I loved the sweet roasted carrots. The quinoa was enjoyable too. The nice part about Moxies is you can go expensive or you can also have a reasonably priced dinner (burgers and tacos). My hubby got the shrimp tacos which were affordable at $18. They had a nice crispiness with the lettuce but weren't anything special. I liked the thick chips they came with which had a little spice sprinkled on top. This is the first time we skipped dessert at a nice place. They had some brownies, mocha and key lime pies, but nothing seemed to stand out and we're trying to be good for the holidays. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, but felt the sports bar environment dampened the enjoyment of our date. Next time, I'll ask to be seated upstairs.

I was suggested this spot by a Greta friend. Location: galleria Staff: can't remember person who greeted us at entrance but she was very nice and professional. Person who was our waitress was Jasmine and she was phenomenal. ( and I'm not just saying that because of our matchy name) Price: average Parking: plenty as it is in a shopping strip Food: I had a cup of joe even tho it was lunch time and it was a perfect hit for my day. I also tried the shrimp tacos and definitely delicious. Wait time: none food also came out pretty fast and was well cooked and perfect heat temperature. Will definitely be coming back.
