Yelp
Settle in, people, because this is going to be a bumpy ride.
In a nutshell, this hotel cut every possible corner and doesn't care about the comfort of the people who are spending literally hundreds of dollars a night to stay there.
-The noise. It's unbearable. On the 18th floor we were hearing people talking, music from restaurants, etc. We expected some level of that, being in the middle of a city, but what we were not counting on was a man sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL, revving his motorcycle ALL NIGHT LONG. That's when we understood why there were ear plugs, a white noise machine, and a brochure about having trouble sleeping on the nightstand. Obviously, these devices did absolutely nothing to cover the earsplitting noise of the motorcycle. We didn't sleep at all for three nights. When we called the front desk about it, we got a whole lot of attitude and an absolute refusal to help in any way, telling us that it was 'normal city sounds' (sorry, but anyone who has ever lived in a city can tell you that a motorcycle revving all night, every night, in one spot isn't normal city sounds).
-The room was TINY. Enough room for a bed and a chair. No closet or any sort of storage space and the extra table and chair were hanging up on pegs on the wall. When we took them down to get some work done, we were crammed into the room with no space to walk.
-The sliding door on the bathroom had no latch or lock and there was a one-inch gap around the entire thing so that you could hear exactly what a person was doing in the bathroom. Disgusting. Pics of the gap attached.
-The toilet was broken. The seat had somehow become unhinged, so you were sliding around as you were trying to go. Pics of the broken toilet attached.
-The outlets were a mess and you had to plug your stuff in juuuust right and hold it in place to get a charge.
-There's only one trash can (due to how small the room was) and it was in the bathroom, only for recycling.
-The front desk were distinctly unhelpful. I had Googled public transportation, but it was confusing (I love Boston, but its streets aren't totally logical), so I went to the front desk to get help. They had no idea, also Googled it, got frustrated, and then sent me away, telling me to just put it into Google maps.
-No ice machine. You have to go to the front desk and request ice.
-The restaurant/bar sucks and is incredibly expensive. The food and drinks are trash and their grab and go section is obscenely and laughably expensive (sorry, $4 for one broken granola bar isn't cool).
-In the evenings and nights, music is blaring out of every nook and cranny of the hotel. In the elevator, the speakers are not equipped for this sound level, so it's crackly and horrible. And, since the rooms are not soundproofed whatsoever (see first bullet point), it seeps into the room, no matter what floor you're on. You can also hear everything that's going on in the rooms next door.
-On my bill, I got charged TWICE for the same Destination Fee/GST Goods and Services Tax. While it's already a BS charge, why did you charge me TWICE??? Pic attached.
Sorry, Moxy, but we saw right through your supposedly minimalist aesthetic and into the fact that you are purely for-profit and not at all about the customer. No amount of garish fuschia can cover up your evil ways.
