Moxy Manchester City (Manchester, UK) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Sure, the Moxy hotels are a Marriott sub-brand, but they’re as unique as any independent boutique hotel. Moxy Manchester City occupies the site of what was once a hat factory in the city-center Spinningsfield district, and while it retains a portion of the factory’s well-worn brick façade, it is for the most part a new build, a nine-story modern structure whose interiors present an idealized version of urban loft living. There’s another kind of nostalgia at work within; references to legendary local bands like Joy Division and the Smiths abound. Bar Moxy, with its all-day dining menu and its vast selection of libations, anchors the hotel to Manchester’s vibrant social life." - Tablet Hotels

Very lovely hotel. Bar and social area downstairs is great! Rooms are lovely. Quiet corner just off one of the busy night-life area’s. Easy to get to. Checking in and out was a breeze. Would stay again.

Short break to the city and first time at Moxy Manchester. Really fun hotel and the staff were all excellent. Very friendly and helpful. In particular, Sam the Duty Manager was brilliant. We had some unexpected changes to our plans and he helped sort everything out with a smile and lovely chat! As an elite member for over 20 years I have stayed at Marriott brand hotels all over the world. Would definitely recommend the Moxy. And breakfast was gorgeous. All really good quality ingredients.

Visited Manchester Opera House to see a show & this hotel is right behind, 2min walk. Hotel is lovely, modern hotel with great double room fully air conditioned, Clean room. Stayed with the option of the breakfast which was superb, everything you would require, Full English to fresh waffles for all you could eat. Don't know what rating the hotel is but i'd give it 5 stars....Well done Moxy we will be back.

Cool hotel. Friendly staff - Mitch was very helpful when I checked in. Nice room - good sized bed, small but decent quality bathroom. Good price for a Saturday night in Mcr. I would certainly book again.

The hotel is in a good position, on the edge of Spinningfields. The reception is friendly and a pleasant area. Our room was small, which was fine but had floor-to-ceiling windows that looked across to offices just a few metres away. There were net curtains but it was dark in the room and we needed lights on even on a sunny afternoon, so we had to close the curtains. This made me realise how important a view from the window is to me. There were only 2 teabags in the room and 2 sachets of milk. The shower gel was empty, so we washed with shampoo. The towels and good and the bed was comfy. There is only one hook in the bathroom for a towel, so we had to hang the bath towels up in the bedroom. The room was quiet, which was good but being surrounded by other high buildings, I would not come here again as it felt too claustrophobic for me.

Wonderful staff - so helpful and attentive. Gave great recommendations for restaurants and sights to see. Bent over backwards trying to find a place in town that could help me with a computer problem. The only issue I wasn’t familiar with (for the Marriott Moxy chain, is that there are no room phones), and when i figured out how to dial the front desk number with my cellphone (hold down zero and a plus will appear, then dial the number) all i could get was a recording. (The shower drain was plugged, but it was fixed first thing the next morning by maintenance - i just had to get some clothes on after the shower and run downstairs to tell the front desk. They were so wonderful in helping me get plenty if towels to sop things up immediately. All of the staff were so happy and helpful with everything, and would answer any questions on a variety of topics and getting directions. The”Britain’s Got Talent” staff stayed here while I was there, so they must love the Moxy hotel too. Suited for a younger crowd, probably a little too edgy for an elderly person.

What a fantastic hotel. We had such a lovely welcome from Emily and Sam on the front desk when we arrived.|Most hotels won't let you check in early so we thought we'd just drop our bags off but Emily said the room was ready for us so we could check in there and then.|They were both really friendly and welcoming, it was lovely.|We'll definitely be back!

Freddie and the entire bar staff were amazing. She was friendly and always going above and beyond when we were down eating or drinking at the bar. Will definitely stay again due to how welcoming and pleasant she made our stays!!!!
