Yelp
Not sure why the ratings for this restaurant are so low, but my friend and I definitely enjoyed our meal from Mozzarella Bar. We checked it out on a Wednesday evening after attending a Yelp event and doing some eye shopping. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time, so we were seated right away.
The choice of napkins and utensils are interesting, for a lack of a better word: Not only did my friend and I get different ones (she got a smaller fork while mine was bigger), the napkins we got were paper instead of cloth, even though the empty tables around us looked like they had cloth napkins. Questionable plating choices aside, the food was delicious. The pre-meal bread came with flavorful tomato bruschetta, and we ordered burrata and farfale with salmon to share. Although serving sizes could have been a bit bigger, the burrata, which we were told is made in house, was fresh and creamy, and the pasta was had great chewy texture that went well with the sauce and salmon that looks deceivingly like pieces of chicken. Salmon was moist and flavorful, and not dried out at all.
One aspect that could be improved is the service. It's possible that the staff were trying not to be overbearing, but they were a little too hands off in that we often found ourselves trying to catch their attention. Admittedly, we were so hungry that we walked into the restaurant without checking any Yelp reviews, but despite this departure from the norm, we had an overall delicious time at Mozzarella Bar.
