I came to this place because of the curiosity of the name. I fell in love with the logo 😍 And I fell in love with the place. It is in a strategic point, it has parking (it is a full plus), the attention is first class, the atmosphere is spectacular and the empanadas are delicious. The barista Juan attended us and made his recommendations and we really liked the empanadas but especially the one thePhilly Cheesesteak. The green sauce is spectacular, I would buy it in quantities and their coffee... wow... apart from being beautiful the art was delicious! What if I recommend this establishment? Of course!🤎☕️ 💯 Every time I come to VA, I already know where to go for a good coffee!

Google
Absolutely amazing! Empanadas were delicious and the coffee was amazing too. Had a very cute and cozy coffee shop feel. Only small complaint is the tables are a little small for eating at, but otherwise amazing place!

Ordered for pick up but decided to stay and enjoy my empanadas in person. I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy the shop felt. Definitely going in the roster for coffee shops to do work at. And the empanadas were so tasty and filling without the sugar crash I get from pastries at other coffee shops.

I love empanadas, and these are soooo wonderful. I love that they offer a variety of flavors and they stamp the name of the flavor on each one. That’s such a thoughtful touch. I ordered the chicken little, cheeseburger, Philly cheesesteak, and the chili chicken. They all tasted really good. The breading of the empanadas had like a sweet flavor that goes well with the filing. These taste baked. They are a great size as well. Mpanadas is very aesthetically pleasing, it’s very cute, warm, and welcoming. The seating is very comfortable.

Google
This coffee shop is an absolute gem! The seasonal empanada, Havana, was OUTSTANDING! I paired mine with a passion fruit cream latte (not official name) and it was exactly what my soul needed on a Friday afternoon. The coffee was smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with a playful vibe that makes it just as fun to sit and stay awhile as it is to grab something to-go. And yes—the llamas! They add such a whimsical and unforgettable touch to the whole experience. Jesse’s friendly personality really set the tone for the shop. He provided a superb recommendation and made my experience feel personal by remembering my name after the initial purchase. Between the incredible food, top-notch drinks, and the one-of-a-kind atmosphere, this spot is easily one of my favorite finds.. lucky me, I was on a random work trip, what a win! I highly recommend for anyone looking for something special beyond the usual coffee shop scene. *You won’t be disappointed*

Google
This place is hands down the best empanada place in the DMV. I'm quite an empanadas connoisseur and have tried quite many places. If only it weren't almost an hour drive for me, I'd be having these empanadas quite often throughout the week. I have yet to ask them to confirm this, but it felt as if they were freshly made from a dough, not something stored in a freezer at any time. I couldn't decide which flavor I liked, so I got one of each, and WOW, all of them were AMAZING in their own way. My only wish is that they make some with olives in them, Argentine style, because the olives balance out the rich taste. I also didn't quite make out if the staff are from Peru, Bolivia, or Colombia. The Llama suggests Peru, but I'll report back on this on my next visit. The decoration and feel of the inside are cozy, but I wouldn't plan on dining in. There aren't many seats. It's more of a take-out place. Seeing ice cream served here felt kind of odd, but I'm in love with cortado and horchata latte on the menu. There are a lot of road constructions going on around Mpanadas, unfortunately, so expect to be a bit bumpy to get here. The small parking lot has about 10 spots if you manage to get near it. I don't know when, but I'm coming back.

Google
I really enjoyed the empanadas here! They were a great size packed with meat - I had a combo of two beef and one pork barbecue(favorite). They were very good and satisfying, but the meat almost landed on the bland side for me. It could have used a bit more seasoning for my taste, but I tend to put a little bit of salt on everything, even a pinch in my black coffee.💁🏽‍♂️ I loved the puffy crispy crunchy outside! Two sauces, one hot and one mild, came with the combo. They were also delicious. There is no guessing on what's on the inside of each empanada. It's somehow "printed" on the outside. I ordered takeout, but there are a few chairs and tables inside. The atmosphere had a nice, relaxed vibe with some great music playing in the background. Prices are fair, and I had excellent, fast service from the very friendly team!

Google
So cute inside! We had breakfast here and it was pretty good. Filling but the images on the menu do show two empanadas so it was a little confusing when there was only one for the price listed. Food was good.

Yelp
OK, so I've been obsessed with this place for a minute. At this point, I've tried so many of their empanadas. I love the pizza empanada that they have sometimes. It taste like a big pizza roll and is honestly so delicious. Another one I enjoy is the beef papa. The Havana empanada is on my list. For an empanada, you're looking at paying about $3.50 to $5 dollars. Sometimes, there are deals where you can get a couple for a bit cheaper. They are absolutely worth the price. They are often super full and the shell is delightful. I also really enjoy their sauces. The green is my personal fave. It gives cool, tzatziki meets cilantro vibes, and the red one is also delicious but a bit spicier. I also love the coffees and beverages here. I had a really good lemonade over the summer. I can't remember exactly what type it was, but it was the perfect blend of tart and sweet. There or Chata latte is definitely one of the better ones I've ever had, too. On top of that, the service here is incredible. I've met a couple of the owners and they are great. Additionally, the other staff members are very nice and go out of their way to help people. One day, I even watched as an employee brought a customers empanadas outside after some random old man hit their car in the parking lot and took off without even leaving a note. I would highly recommend checking out their social media as that is where they typically will let you know about different specials and things. They have different Monday and Wednesday deals seemingly all the time, so check them out. The vibe inside is also very chill. They have Wi-Fi that works well, so it's a great place to take meetings and catch a legit Café vibe. I have yet to try the ice cream and/or paletas. I'll definitely be back for those.

Yelp
When you walk in, the enviro is cute and casual! Fantastic customer service!! Alexis and Juandi are great!! The food excellent! I love everything we ordered. Specifically the Beef Papa, the Chorizo Ranchero, and the Bombay empanadas! They have lovely specials for grouped buys. Their coffee options are delicious! They also have a wonderful dessert empanada, called Havana!! Definitely worth a visit! I promise it won't be your last!!

Yelp
UberEats review: Where has this place been all of my life? I'm serious when I say that as a New Yorker, it has been hard to find quality empanadas since moving to the area. Well, after randomly searching UberEats, I found this place for breakfast and my life has been changed. I ordered the breakfast special: 2 empanadas with coffee ($15) I ordered both the maple bacon and chorizo ranchero. Both packed wildly different flavors and both were incredibly delicious. The maple bacon brought a sweet and savory balance with just the right portion of bacon and eggs. There is a very subtle yet delicious sweetness to each bite and the eggs top off the experience with added fluffiness. The empanada dough, talk about buttery soft! It literally melted in my mouth before chewing it. My favorite of the 2 was the chorizo ranchero. This empanada can only be described as savory in each bite. There was a mixture of potatoes, eggs, and chorizo, all meshed together to satisfy your mouth upon first bite. Again, the empanada dough was buttery soft. Would I try them again? ABSOLUTELY! Sign me up for more! Well packaged and handled with care-I cannot wait to order again and visit them in person.

Yelp
Tuesday 6/24/2025 I found this spot on TikTok and decided to give it a shot after the hype I saw for it. $5.55 per empanada is crazy to me but luckily they have deals for different days. I decided to visit on a Tuesday when they were having their special buy 2 get 1 free for $11.10 deal. With that deal in mind, I made a takeout order online for the cheeseburger empanada, Philly empanada, and French toast empanada. - The cheeseburger empanada was alright but definitely would have benefitted from a sauce. Also, it tastes more like a chopped cheese rather than a burger. - The Philly empanada was my favorite of the 3 but once again, it's another empanada that would have greatly benefited from a sauce. - The French toast empanada is the most creative empanada I've come across but the execution isn't quite there. On the inside, it was sweet with some berries, and it kind of resembled French toast, but I wasn't much of a fan. All in all, I can confidently say that these are the most unique and creative empanadas I've had but the execution needs a bit more work. If you're planning on visiting, make sure to take advantage of the different deal days to save money. -- For more FOOD content, follow me on Instagram: @issa.cheatday

Yelp
This is a very cozy and quaint coffee shop selling a variety of delicious empanadas, coffee, tea, gelato, and small snacks. The atmosphere is charming and welcoming. The empananda menu is pretty extensive offering traditional like chorizo and creative like french toast. They are priced at about 5.50 each. Service is polite. They do a great job at describing items if you have any questions. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love the spot, definitely a unique place. My favorite is the Philly cheesesteak or barbecue, can't choose between the two. They have great deal so make sure you also follow them on social media. Cute little Café great to stop in and have a little treat. Servers are always friendly.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my first visit to Mpanadas, and had to make another visit to try more of the delicious gelato during this warm weather. Last time I was able to try out the pistachio and dark chocolate (which was my favorite), so this time I got the vanilla bean. The flavor was a good choice since it was overpowering (just light and refreshing); it was the perfect treat to cool me down! I'll have to stop by again to try more menu items.

Yelp
The storefront is very tiny, but super cute. I got the spinach and artichoke and tangy BBQ. Both were very good on it's own. They gave the option of mild and spicy and I got one of each. The mild sauce was a creamy salsa with a hint of green and the spicy one was creamy with a hint of red. Both of them tasted very light, it's an ok addition for maybe the meat options? I did not like them at all with the spinach and artichoke. But it was tasty with the pulled pork one. I loved the dough it wasn't hard and cooked to perfection, most of the time when get empandas they are very hard on the outside, however they are cooking these, they are doing it right. The shell has a sweetness to it that i enjoy. Like most Bolivian Saltenas, so good. The spinach and artichoke one was sooooooo good, it was a perfect balance of spinach to artichoke. Right amount of cheese and so flavorful. The BBQ one was good too, juicy and not dry. However this one was perfect with the sauces. The mild had a little tiny level 1 spice and the hot one had a level 3 spice. I could honestly do both without the sauces, but they were good. l love that you don't have to play a guessing game with the emanadas. They are stamped with ink into the dough! Love that idea! I will be back to try more as well as their paletas and Gelato. I did not get any frozen desserts as I don't eat fast enough before it melts, so i opted for the horchata iced latte with oat milk. This one was a 1/5, as it was not great:( Very light in flavor almost just a cinnamon touch. No horchata to it at all... The entire road is being disrupted by construction and it's a pretty busy road, hopefully the get that taken care of soon. I feel bad for the business. Parking can be a hassle so be prepared for that and people who cannot park. I shall be back soon and stop by again!

Taylor R.

Yelp
Long-time and often-repeating customer! Can't get enough of the empanadas, my favorites are the cheeseburger and the spinach artichoke. Thank you Jaundi for the great service!

Yelp
Came for a Yelp event and I plan to come back! Cute place, with empanadas, cream and coffee in Arlington. Counter staff was nice, fast and knowledgeable. Vibe was cute, cool and modern, featured llama. my empanadas were hot and delicious! I ordered one breakfast empanadas and one anytime-both were great, along with horchata.
google avatar

Yelp
Really enjoyed this spot! So many options, we ended up ordering more than we planned. All the them were really good the spinach (surprisingly) really stuck out to me. And the softness of the empanada itself is perfect! I loved it. Excited to go back and try some more.
google avatar

Yelp
Hot empanadas and good vibes! We asked what they recommended and got the beef empanda and horchata gelato. Super friendly staff! Very cute seating. I wish I had gone earlier in the day to try their coffee, I will have to come back. The owner came by and asked if we needed anything. Easy parking.

Yelp
Mpanadas is a delicious treat. The cafe is very cute! The empanadas were so good and love the vegan option. They also had a vegan guava sorbet that was yummy.
google avatar

Yasi S.

Yelp
Definitely a local Columbia Pike spot as there's nothing alike it. The empanadas are not made fresh there. I wish that they were made fresh. Definitely unique flavors. Recently tried the French toast empanada; I wouldn't get it again though (personally too sweet for me & I'm a sweet tooth, so that's saying something). The service is okay. It's a cute little spot; wish they had a record player in there or some live music.

Yelp
A little empanadas go a long way. They have combo that you can order 3 or 5 or individual. Very delicious, it have lots of flavor. I got the cheese burger, melted cheese one and a beef one. Alot of fillings inside that filled the whole entirely empanada. All were delicious and very filling. Would definitely order this again.

Yelp
A big group of us got Mpanandas catered for lunch this past Sunday and it was so good! This was my first time eating empanadas from here, and even though the breading wasn't very crispy after sitting in take-out containers for a bit, the empanada, overall, was still very impressive. I got to try the CHILI CHICKEN and BEEF PAPA empanada. The chili chicken was my favorite because it had a hint of spice and the chicken was soft and the sauce/seasoning was phenomenal. The beef papa was good, but I thought it was pretty dry (from the ground beef and potatoes) and bland compared to the chili chicken. Still pretty good but I would try a different empanada next time. I would need to eat their empanadas in person to get the full experience. They have a lot of coffee options here, too, so I would love to try both together.
google avatar

Zack G.

Yelp
Empanada shop with a bunch of unique flavors of empanadas, caffeinated drinks, gelato, and popsicles I opted for a tangy chicken empanada, the green-sauce, and a seltzer. -The empanada was great, and it was made even better by the sauce. The empanada also had a ton of meat in it, and it had the cool touch of having shop's logo branded into it as well -The seltzer flavors they had were pretty unique too. The one I got was "mint watermelon" and it was great The space is pretty small, but it is cute and they do have a few tables available. There is a bunch of construction happening around the place, but they have their own parking lot which makes it much easier to get to The staff were very friendly

Yelp
Thanks for the fun event! Everyone was so friendly and answered questions about the menu! I loved the spinach empanada! I can't wait to go back and try a coffee! The seating area is also adorable!!!

Yelp
My Sunday drive consisted of heading to Columbia Pike for my free empanadas at Mpanadas in Arlington. My first impressions were positive. In addition to the warning/instructions about parking, when it was my turn to order, the cashier (Ninni) was very welcoming and helpful. Since this was a first for me, I asked, and she gleefully offered a couple of suggestions. As she was assisting me, I noticed a few other Yelpers behind me listening in on her recommendations and having their phones ready to scan the Yelp Check-in URL . I was relieved to know that I wasn't the only one who had waited till the final day to take advantage of this event. Mpanadas is a very cute and quaint little spot that would be great for a book club meeting, a girl's meetup or just some "Me" time. The offerings include sweet and savory options. I settled in on the cheesesteak empanada and one other recommendation from Ninni. I would have taken advantage of one of the drinks or frozen treat options...But, I had already committed to a detox smoothie from Tropicana. I will definitely return to try the one empanada I really wanted that was sold out (maple bacon) and a few of the frozen treats. If you are in the area and looking for a sweet or savory treat, I recommend Mpanadas. If for nothing else, go check out Ninni's smile! Happy eating.

Yelp
A cute little spot that seems a bit like an "IYKYK" location! Parking is very limited but not impossible. There's some versatile seating options (two seaters with small tables and benches along the windows) that maximize the space because it definitely filled up quickly. The staff greeted me with a smile and warm welcome, along with taking time to share the options and explain flavors that were unfamiliar to me. I was not expecting to see such a nice variety of ice cream and coffee! I had the philly cheesecake empanada and horchata latte and took scoops of guava and Lucama ice cream to go, along with a spinach empanada for later. Everything was delicious; definitely worth the trip!

Yelp
My wife and I came here this evening after having seen this several dozen times because we go to the LA bar and grill across the street. We ordered the Philly and the cheeseburger and they are delicious. Unlike other empanadas these are very doy and soft and have a very special flavor. The service is very lovely and I would say we'll be back
google avatar

Chandler D.

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant located in Arlington. They have a variety of flavors to choose from for empanadas and they also serve coffee along with a few other drinks. When we came, we were the only customers so they were able to make our orders in a decent amount of time. You're able to order empanadas by 2s, 3 or a 5 pack. I ordered the following empanadas: cheeseburger, tangy bbq, 2 Philly and the Chorizo Ranchero. They were absolutely delicious and flaky! Very flavorful!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Tasty empanadas that are pretty sizeable. Did the combo of 3 for $15. After eating it, I thought it was a good value. They have decent amount if choices. My favorite that I tried was the cheeseburger. Would recommend giving it a try.
google avatar

Juniper A.

Yelp
The establishment is very lovely and humble. The decor is always lovely and the coffee is delicious. Lucia is one of my favorite people there, she serves my coffee with a smile and always asks if I'm satisfied with my order. She is one of the best people there at M'Panadas. Would definitely go back there for their yummy food and service.
google avatar

Yelp
I order two empanadas at the Blue Festival. One chorizo and one Philly. They were delicious and full of flavor. Completely stuffed with food, generous portion. Well worth the price!

Niranjana S.

Yelp
A great place for a quick bite! The service was quick and efficient, there was some space to sit and enjoy empanadas, and the menu was just big enough where you have options but don't feel overwhelmed. We grabbed 3 vegetarian empanadas (cheese, spin art, and the new bombay vegan one). All 3 were great but I have to say the spin art is the best one. It also comes with 2 sauces - mild and spicy. I didn't find either all too spicy but was yummy nonetheless.

Yelp
I went here on Tuesday Alexis was very sweet and helpful!! I will be back and recommend to a friend!

Yelp
I've had Mpanadas twice now and I've enjoyed both times! First was for a Yelp Elite event that I enjoyed so much I came back. The cheeseburger empanadas are delicious with jalapeño sauce on the side. I do wish I enjoyed the other flavors but so far, the cheeseburger has been my go-to. The waitress is so sweet and excited for customers which makes the experience worth it. It's a cute spot but mind the construction for the time being!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this local business! We came during the heat wave and the palettas were a perfect way to cool off. Get the Philly and both sauces! Thank you Alexis!
google avatar

Yelp
Their staff was friendly and helpful in explaining about the menu. The food took a while to come out but it was worth it. Very fresh and delicious empanadas I've had in a while in the area!

Yelp
First timer. Shared four: 1) spicy chicken, 2) spinach cheese, 3) majadito and 4) the store's new flavor BBQ pork. The traditional majadito was my favorite, but the spinach cheese did not disappoint. Dining companion liked the spicy chicken best but also liked the majadito. Friendly cashier requested feedback on the BBQ pork, which was solid - juicy chunks of new instead of dry, stringy shreds, and good sauce. I suggested they take it up another level by making it saucier and adding cilantro +/- red onion. Personally, I didn't get any of the beans or corn in my half. Disliked the mild dipping sauce; not the herby, cooling avocado crema vibe I enjoy with fried foods. Establishment kept clean but paleta display was down for repair. Probably would've purchased one otherwise! Might be back, but $5 for a small empanada is too much... I know the combo deals make it cheaper, but they shouldn't be that high to start. Worth $3-$4 a piece at best.

Alice K.

Yelp
This place has very good coffee and the veggie empanadas are excellent. (I imagine the meat-based ones are as well!). Service staff is friendly as well. Just one suggestion to the management: when the place gets very busy, it might be helpful to have more than one staff member there. Weekends seem to have lots of take-out/pick up orders as well as people eating there, and the wait can get pretty long as well as overwhelming to the staffer behind the counter. Thanks!
google avatar

Beatriz M.

Yelp
This is an amazing place! empanadas were fresh and very tasty. we tried the spinach and artichoke and the seasonal cherry cobbler! the staff is very attentive and friendly in a very cute place where you can have a nice cup of delicious coffee with your empanada.

Yelp
Been seeing the "coming soon" signs at this place all last year and had a chance to try last night, as me and my wife didn't feel like cooking and it was a Friday night! The Three empanadas, drink and a 1 sauce is decently priced at $16 for a filling meal. Parking is limited and there are no tables for groups. You're better off ordering for pickup. My favorite is the Spicy Pork empanada filled with pork, black beans and corn. For reference, the spice level of the Spicy Pork and their "Mild" sauce is about that of Taco Bell "Fire" sauce. At 6PM, a lot of their menu items were sold out or otherwise not available. Looks like this place is better at lunchtime. Since it's hard to get parking, I would either park at the garage across the street and walk 4 minutes, or order for pickup or to delivery. Unfortunately, there would not be enough seating to bring work colleagues here. Better to organize an empanada party at the office. VIDEO https://youtu.be/nbRpCQ7YzlE?si=hi1GJGQb2MxobTkC

Yelp
Today at Mpanada I not only enjoyed a delicious empanada, but also received the best service from Marite. It's the little things like this that make you want to come back!

Komita P.

Yelp
Marine was so hospitable! Knowing it was my first time here, she showed me around the menu and her suggestions were spot on. I had the Horchata Latte and the Spinach & Artichoke empanada. Fresh. Hot. Tasty. I can't wait to return and try more Mpanadas. And coupled with the vibe, can't go wrong! AND it looks like a great place to work out of for the day. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Tasty empanadas. I recommend the beef empanada. It's also very cute inside. There's a wall you can take photos using their props. I do not recommend the shrimp empanada. It was mostly cheese and it seemed very empty on the inside.
google avatar

Melinda T.

Yelp
Looking for a quick bite and enjoy hand held items? Well Mpanadas might be worth a try if you're in or around the area. Also look at the photo worthy wall with the swings and the props. So fun. They definitely carry the llama theme throughout on the walls and in the bathroom. Anywho, we found this gem bc we needed an afternoon snack to tie us over before dinner. They have 3 deals if you get more than one. For 3 of us, we opted for the 7 for $31 deal, which included 4 sauces. Not too bad, each are $5/ea. We tried the shrimp, spicy chicken, steak and cheese, chorizo and potato, and a few others. All were good! We didn't feel like it needed the sauces (mild or spicy). They're a decent size too - ~2 is a great snack. The empanadas are also labeled on the crust fold; some where easier to make out than others but not a big deal. I'd come here again for sure!
google avatar

Lia M.

Yelp
I'm thrilled Mpanadas has opened in the neighborhood. It's a cute spot with friendly staff. It's a small parking lot but there is some street parking too. They have paletas, macaron ice cream sandwiches, and of course, empanadas. I was pleasantly surprised because I rarely like baked empanadas, but these Bolivian empanadas are really good. I've been twice, but they got my first order completely wrong, so I had to throw it in the trash, as I don't eat the ones I was given. Definitely double-check your order. My second order was great. The spinach and cheese empanada is my favorite. The beef one was flavorful. I'll be returning, and often.

Yelp
The Pike needs a place like this. The food was great, super friendly staff and the cafe is so inviting. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Ordered the maple bacon and French toast empanadas with the horchata latte. Both empanadas were cooked perfectly and had a nice flaky crust. The marble bacon was really good and would order again. The French toast empanadas had lots of blueberry and tasted fine but the inside was just a little too soft for my personal preference. Will try more options in the further.

Yelp
I tried 4 types of empanadas (spicy chicken, spicy pork, vegetable, and cheeseburger) and they were all awesome. I also love that they're all "stamped" so you know which is which flavor. I prefer some over others, but that's just personal taste. The empanadas are small for $5, but they are STUFFED with fillings and 2 will do the job if you're only moderately hungry. Pro tip: spicy means spicy. One didn't totally clear my sinuses but I did start to sniffle. There isn't much seating, just bar stools, but you could always walk across the street and eat in the plaza if there isn't space. WILL DEF be back to try more!
