The Best Ice Cream Flavors in San Francisco | Eater SF

"The number one complaint at this small Dogpatch shop is its limited hours, and the number two complaint is when they don’t have Thai iced tea. It’s smoky, sweet, and satisfying. That said, all of the expressive, gourmet flavors at Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous are worth a try, so don’t fret if they’re out of just one." - Caleb Pershan

Interesting name, and a very small place. Not-very-friendly service. The whole experience was disappointing. We waited about 20 minutes to get our food, and there were only 3 people ahead of us. Don't know how many staff they had, but saw at least two people. The drinks were pretty good, a lot of toppings, and sweetness adjusted to as requested. This is the only place I've seen that charges $0.50 for no ice. So if it's a cold day in SF and I want a drink that's not too cold, I would actually have to pay extra. Of all the snacks, the egg puff stood out, delicious! However, the fried squid sucked, soggy and very chewy. All in all, no plan to visit this place again.

Google
The boba is always good and the food is super good. The staff is always nice. But I have a tip for you. Maybe update the website when the hours change cause you keep opening late and changing the time if opening.

Google
Family wanted boba and we checked this place out. Long line outside but was hoping a quick service. Unfortunately, we waited 30 minutes for maybe 14 orders ahead of us. Taro and Oreo boba was really tasty. Just be ready to wait. I’d give 5 starts if the wait wasn’t so long.

Google
Our experience here was extremely disappointing. We arrived and ordered 2 High Mountain Oolong Tea Creama drinks without being informed that all their beverages come with default ice. Surprisingly, we weren't given the choice of having ice or not. When our drinks arrived, we politely requested one without ice, as we weren't aware that all their drinks were served cold. The staff member at the front counter complained about the default cold drinks and questioned how we could have known. We requested the removal of the ice and asked for room temperature drinks. And we have to pay extra $0.50 to remove the ice. She proceeded to the kitchen to fulfill our request. However, when a man emerged from the kitchen with a stern expression and asked us, "What the hell do you want?" in an intimidating tone, it left us feeling genuinely frightened. All we wanted was a room-temperature drink, and amidst the tension, we managed to explain our preference to him. He went back to the kitchen and eventually prepared a room-temperature drink. I can't adequately convey how scared I felt; it was a truly unpleasant experience. I have no intention of returning, and while the drink was acceptable, it was rather bland, almost like water.

Nice place to quench your thirst. In the recommendation of the lady behind the counter I got myself a fresh mango juice tea. It had fresh mango pieces with green tea and ice. I asked for no extra sugar and toppings. Still it was quite sweet for me.. maybe the mango was very sweet. It was delicious and refreshing with actual pieces of mango! Good stuff!

Google
great place, my daughter loves it and says it is the best boba/milk tea. usually quick and polite, though sometimes busy at random times.

Google
Love the giant fruit tea. The best! Smells better than any perfume because of the passion and fruits they put in. The orange pulp wasn’t so carefully separated like the last time but I still like it. Tastes like heaven! Even for someone who’s never liked venturing out of the comfort zone like original boba milk tea will LOVE this! The snacks tho, *bleh* Too greasy and no flavor whatsoever. Just get the tea!

Google
My go to place for mango fix. I love their Mango Mango drink. It’s chock full of real mango goodness. Best in SF! Long wait and huge line during peak times. I always call ahead and ask for 30% sweetness. Worried that this posting might make the wait worse. 😅

Yelp
Convenient quick boba shop! Mango sago was good - nice coconut flavor with mango pudding, a little too much tapioca in ratio

Yelp
My boys and I came here the second time to grab some drinks. We got the mango mango, strawberry slush, and taro purple rice with coconut milk this tim. We enjoyed all the drinks. Would come back to try other drinks. The mango mango is more on the sweet side which my hubby liked, I was ok with it. I liked my drink better which was the taro purple rice with coconut milk. I had a sip of the strawberry slush which was delicious, it contains ice cream. Overall, would come back to try other drinks.

Yelp
Ordering a big order from Doordash from this boba shop was slightly slow, but otherwise my friends and I had a good experience. On a Saturday afternoon, our group of friends placed a delivery order for this boba shop. For my first time, I ordered their regular black milk tea with boba. While the texture of the boba was not my favorite, I still enjoyed my boba and enjoyed the general taste of the milk tea. My friend ordered the Grape with Aloe Vera drink, and neither of us enjoyed the drink too much, but we expected to not like the general flavor. I'd love to give this place another try and try one of their other boba flavors in the future!

Yelp
They are closed for a month. Reopen 7/4/2025. Doesn't say why but just wanted to give everyone a heads up since hours on Yelp is not updated

Yelp
Straight to the point, good experience whenever I visit! My go-tos are their High Mountain Oolong milk tea or their Giant Fruit Green Tea. Small interior, a few bar seats but be sure to plan for a to-go experience. Baristas & cashier are relatively quick as well.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday and there was already a line out the door waiting to order on the kiosk. Decided on the mango pomelo sago drink (~$7) and the wait was around 10-15 minutes. I saw only 1 worker making the drinks. Drink was refreshing and there was enough of each ingredient that not only could you see it clearly in the cup but you could taste it as well.

Yelp
Mr. & Mrs. always hits. It's a small tea shop with a variety of drinks and snacks you can buy. They have about 3-4 stools where you can also sit and have your drink. We usually always stop by when we're in the area and get a mango sago with pomelo or without. The drinks are affordable and really well made. The service is good and speedy. It's a nice place to get a pick me up drink to go.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a good time here. The drinks are fantastic and price pretty decent. The size of the drinks is a highlight. I love their matcha slushy with red beans. Great for the summer. The service is good but due to being a very popular spot it could take bit sometimes. Neighborhood vibe so you see a ton of locals.

Yelp
It was an unusually warm day and the kids have been walking and saw Mr and Mrs Tea. tea and The tea in the High mountain oolong milk tea with boba was really good. Girls really enjoyed their Strawberry slushie with boba. There was only one party in front of us in the line to order. The lady who took our order was fast. There is no indoor nor outdoor seating.
google avatar

Yelp
I will always defend Mr & Mrs, it's the best price for great quality drinks in the city. Where else can you get a wide variety of FRESH fruit teas for less than $6 in 2024? Their boba is always perfectly chewy, and their teas are also brewed pretty strong (my personal preference). We tried their mango mango today, and you can tell there is so much fresh mango in the drink. This may be my new favorite! A lot of people left bad reviews for their service and wait time, which is valid, but those are things that I can look past and do not expect from a no frills boba shop in the Richmond.

Yelp
Came here on a sunday afternoon and there were approximately 8 orders in front of me. I ordered my go to jasmine milk tea with fresh milk and zero sugar with boba. The boba was well marinated with btown sugar and was chewy, which was excellent. The tea had lots of jasmine flavor. The total was $5.43 with tax included. There are only street parking on Clement St. Try to find a parking spot on the side streets.
google avatar

Hope L.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was a short line. I got the black milk tea with boba and it was $5.49. It was perfectly sweet and the boba was chewy with honey flavoring. However, the drink tasted a bit powdery and I prefer drinks made of real ingredients. I would come back here but would get another drink.

Yelp
I came with a friend around 6 PM on a Wednesday night. The place is quite small with only a few seats at a bar available. Most of the other patrons brought their drinks to go. I ordered a matcha fresh milk with cheese creama on top. The creama was delicious and went well with the drink. The matcha flavor was very light and was mostly creamy from the milk. It was quite tasty but probably not the best choice for the matcha obsessed folks since the flavor was pretty muted. I also got an order of curly fries which were a great flavor and perfectly fried! All in all, a nice stop for a quick boba drink and snacks.

Danielle L.

Yelp
Very rare, nowadays, where you'll find a boba place that is under $6 for a good size. Luckily, this place is a gem when it comes to good value sized drinks! I got a peach green tea (regular size) with lychee jelly (I believe it was 65 cents extra?), which came to a grand total of $5.81 (including tax). The tea quality itself is not necessarily the highest of quality, but it's much higher than drinks from places like quickly's. I would say if you're in the mood for some boba and you don't need the mega top tier quality tea and you don't want the lowest of the low, this is a good spot. The place itself is pretty small, about 4 stools. There's a self serve kiosk to order. The drinks came out fairly quickly and the workers seem nice.

Yelp
Just note that today October 18th they are out of like a lot of things. All the mango drinks, no tea thai, no coconut dessert, no coconut drinks.... Anyways, it took us awhile to order since it seemed like they had absolutely nothing but regular tea. So my friends got the matcha drink, I got the oolong sea salt cream, and my other friend got the giant fruit tea. The fruit tea was great, or so she said. I had the sea salt tea and it was very watery. The matcha drink was low quality. Get the punch card if you come here often. We got 5 stamps right away.

Yelp
I looove this boba shop! I've been here many times and I'm finally leaving a review. This is a typical no frills boba cafe with a huge variety of drinks, Asian snacks and desserts. I like the freshness of the teas here and the texture and sweetness of the boba. The takoyaki and popcorn chicken are crispy and flavourful. Highly recommend if you like boba and want a snack. Wait times can get long if they're busy and there's not much seating.

Yelp
I've passed by this place several times when visiting the Richmond, so I decided to finally give them a try and ordered ahead via DoorDash for pickup. I ordered a peach green milk tea, jumbo size (costs $0.50 more), less ice, 30% sweetness which is $6.19 (not bad given today's boba prizes). The prices are generally $0.40 higher when ordering on DoorDash though. It was still very sweet at 30% sweetness (I felt like it was more like what I'd expect for 75% at most boba shops). I did like the fruity flavor though, I tasted peach bits which was probably largely what was causing it to be that sweet and making it easier to taste the peach through the milk and tea. Overall I thought it was decent and I like that they have a sizable menu, so I'd be interested in trying their other drinks.

Yelp
Drink was good but the owners were rude and one drink took 38 minutes . I know they are stressed but when I asked when my drink would be ready she rolled her eyes.
google avatar

Nancy P.

Yelp
Good drinks and fast service. I like that you can change the sugar amount and wish they would ask for ice too. Convenient location on Clement.

Yelp
Is my favorite boba place in San Francisco. I'd like to know why is closed for several days now?anyone knows?
google avatar

Allison W.

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer for years, like since they opened. The only good thing here is the price as the customer service sucks. They have paper stamp cards that are easily misplaced, but when you come in with 5 stamps cards of 2-3 stamps each, they won't combine them for you. (10 stamps = 1 free drink). I don't understand how hard it is to do that. The owner who is the one who's making drinks is totally rude and not interested in keeping loyal weekly customers of over 10 years.

Yelp
Really good, love giant fruit tea!! Their egg puff is really good, my kids love it so much!!
google avatar

Yelp
The Berry Berry Drink is super refreshing and I recommend getting it with sago or aloe Vera but is good as is! My partner got the Passionfruit Sparkling and it was also really good and honestly I think both would go great together!!! We also got the deep friend Gyoza and it was great!!! All in all, I highly recommend checking it out!!!

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by Mr & Mrs Tea House because it was close to our dinner spot. It's a really small interior (with only 4 bar stools for seating) so it's definitely more of a "grab & go" location. The one thing that really caught my attention is the strong and fragrant aroma of tea that you will inhale as you walk past it. It is such a pleasant tea smell so I knew the tea drinks here had to be good. MR. & MRS. BLACK MILK TEA - 4.40 + 0.50 for boba. I got my drink with less ice and 30% sugar. I wish I got it with 0% sugar so I could get more of the tea flavor since the boba is already sweetened. The tea flavor was strong and good and complemented with the milk well. The portion sizes here are really big, too. I feel like the tea smelled better than it tasted, but I still enjoyed the drink overall. Great boba shop in Inner Richmond to check out if you're craving boba. There's also plenty of good restaurants and Chinese bakeries to check out nearby, too.

Yelp
Honestly our go to neighborhood boba spot! We think it slightly edges over Little Sweet but not by much. Our go to drinks are winter melon lemon juice, high mountain oolong milk tea, berry berry, and mango drinks. Service is fine, they'll recognize you if you're a regular, and there are just four stools inside to wait for or drink your drinks.
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
Hole in a wall boba drink place. They do have great variety drinks and HK style street food. One guy hiding in the back making your food and drink. One girl take order in the front, with no expressions on her face when talking your order. I really like their black sesame boba.
google avatar

Jason Q.

Yelp
Have been to Mr and Mrs Tea many times and in the past my only complaint has been long waits even when there seems to be no one else there. The teas have always been very good, however. Today was sadly my last visit though as there is 0 customer service. After waiting 20 minutes for three drinks(something we are used to here). I attempted to carry all three drinks to the car. When I realized they were slippery I asked for a carrier or bag and they said there were none. So I foolishly tried to carry them and then the inevitable happed. After trying to help them clean up the one drink that spilled I asked if they could make me another and they wanted me to pay again. I understand small business is rough but I can't think of any other business that wouldn't have tried to make this right, even a replacement drink at a discount would have been received well as I hold some responsibility here. They just looked at me with contempt however. There are plenty of Boba joints in town, this one just proved they don't value me as a customer.

Yelp
Okay a really solid boba shop!! They did run out of a few things while I was there, including boba (!!!) and green tea ice cream, so that was the only major fallback from my experience. My party got three things from the menu: - HIGH MOUNTAIN OOLONG MILK TEA: I got it with 30% sweetness and was REALLY impressed! Though I couldn't get it with boba, the tea flavor was really strong and stood out to me. - MANGO POMELO SAGO: I've only had this a few times at other spots and it never disappoints. Here, the drink used real chunks of mango and it was delicious - STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM PUFF: the egg puff is some of the best I've had outside of Asia! Really delightfully light, sweet, airy, and a bit crunchy! Ice cream itself was fine but was nice to eat with the puff.

Yelp
Good milk tea boba place. Has a variety of drinks and food sure to please any palette. Place is small and depending on the time, it may be busy.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
I always get their peach tea and popcorn chicken. Nice place to grab a quick bite late at night. The snack portions are a little small but everything tastes great. It's good value for their price point knowing how expensive boba can be.
google avatar

Tonichi M.

Yelp
Just love the taste of their black milk tea . I would add boba and grass jelly .you can have it with sugar added or no sugar at all.. I always love going back .
google avatar

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
One of the best giant fruit teas. One of my go to. Also like the coconut sago as well.
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
The boba here is just ok. Nothing special. I think it's the only boba shop on Clement. The shop is very small with a few seats. Service was slow. I waited about 10 minutes for a drink.
google avatar

Sharon ..

Yelp
Their boba is good, the Hawaiian green tea is a safe pick as well. The peach green creama tea was a little too overwhelming for me next time I would get it less sweet. Service can get a little backed up sometimes so if there's a line waiting I would put in an order and come back around to pick it up if your walking around running errands. They do have a little bar seating inside but it is mostly takeout boba and snacks like popcorn chicken.
google avatar

Aidan C.

Yelp
Service is extremely slow. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes for 3 drinks. This place is not worth your time, or your business.
google avatar

Sherwin C.

Yelp
Delicious drinks here, particularly their black milk tea. You can find all your favorite bubble tea options here at a reasonable price and friendly service. One of the nicer things about this restaurant though is the option of getting the Ice Cream Puff. This isn't as common to find in restaurants of this size but the version they made here was reasonably priced and delicious. The bubble waffle had the right level of crispiness and chewiness without being overly sweet.
google avatar

Charisse L.

Yelp
Got the oolong milk tea with boba, less sweet and less ice. Very fast. Very cheap for SF. No complaints.
google avatar

Christina J.

Yelp
This spot is really good This pick was solid : Mango slush W/ Lychee jelly and Boba Will be back soon

Jessica H.

Yelp
One of my top almond milk tea places in San Francisco. Not many boba places offer almond milk tea. I like Mr. And Mrs. Tea House since they use green milk tea as the base. The place is pretty small with only a few stools to sit at while you wait for your drinks. Remember to be patient as there's only one man working to make all the drinks and one person as a cashier.
google avatar

J K.

Yelp
Only have gone once but I found the milk tea to be very good. Service was ok. Slow because place was very busy at time. Place is small, not really a sit down place but they did have some seats. My daughter got the chocolate ice cream thingy. It wasn't as pictured but she loved it. The egg puffs were very very good. Would definitely get again. All in all I liked it. Not really convenient for me to go there but if it was I would go quite a bit probably.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I've been to Mr & Mrs Tea House a few times in the last couple years. Their drinks are solid and reasonable priced. Most of the time when I come here I would order their Jasmine Milk Tea w/boba. My friend loves their fruit teas. I have yet to try their food items. This time I decided to try the black milk tea. It was very good. They are a bit out of the way for me but I try to stop by when I'm in the Inner Richmond area.
google avatar

Yalai R.

Yelp
Terrible service, the tea is disgusting, zero recommended, the fried octopus is super greasy

CS C.

Yelp
Coconut sago drink is what I always get , it's fire!!!! I crave the Coconut drink with sago and coconut pudding from this place
google avatar

Suki L.

Yelp
A solid boba spot. I recommend the super orange green tea drink or any of their milk teas. Their snacks are really good as well! I always go for the popcorn chicken & curly fries. They still offer a physical point card for rewards.
google avatar

Lisa X.

Yelp
Still great! Currently loving their Jasmine cheese creama tea or the Black tea creama. I customize mine to no sugar. Fast and efficient. Also, they have a Buy 10, get 1 free stamp card. So don't forget to get yours stamped.
google avatar

Lizzie S.

Yelp
Solid option for tea in the Richmond. Given the amount of Asian restaurants and how it's like a mini Chinatown, you might think there were more boba places in the area! My friend got her usual matcha green tea (no boba this time) and was a fan. I tried one of their seasonal options, the Mango Mango, with a non-seasonal/normal but unique topping: yogurt boba. I loved the mango flavor but wouldn't classify it as tea or a slushie. The yogurt boba was almost like popping boba but with yogurt texture inside and flavoring! Would recommend both, but maybe just go in with those expectations. Service is friendly and fast, they have a nice rewards system if you go there often, and I love their location amongst lots of Asian places and also near Green Apple Books and Golden Gate Park! Go and support local businesses and explore the great outdoors (park) safely!
google avatar

Danielle C.

Yelp
My favorite cup of tea, Giant fruit green tea. Has lots of goodies inside this one cup of tea. Lime, orange, strawberry, watermelon, pineapple, blueberries, passion fruits and more. Their popcorn chicken is very good too
google avatar

Elaine Y.

Yelp
Ordered a mango passionfruit tea with grass jelly and got a mango passionfruit tea with boba instead. Boo! Aside from this little snafu though, the drink was honestly very good. The passionfruit provided a nice tartness that proved to be very refreshing on a warm sunny San Francisco afternoon. I also liked the bits of mango and the passionfruit seeds at the bottom. I'll also give kudos to their boba which is added to the cup warm! It was a bit on the clumpy side but if you shake it around enough, they'll separate themselves eventually. All in all, good drink at a good price!
google avatar

Joy C.

Yelp
Ordered through DoorDash, and it took over 30 minutes for just 2 drinks, without any boba in my order! This is absolutely ridiculous!! The girl with glasses was incredibly rude, offering no service whatsoever. To top it off, everything costs extra. With so many other boba places in the city, I'll let you be the judge!!
