"Our Favorite Dishes: BBQ Beef Banh Mi, Tuna With Egg Banh Mi Top Baguette makes our favorite banh mi in Little Saigon. The tiny, order-at-the-counter shop isn’t doing anything extreme with their sandwiches, they’re just doing them extremely well. That means fresh toppings that perfectly pair with whichever protein you choose, plus crunchy French baguettes we wish we could take home in bulk. Our move is always the BBQ beef with lemongrass, but if you’re looking to change it up, try the tuna as well. Just make sure you add a fried egg on top." - brant cox

Coming into the OC we expected to find really good banh mi shops all over. It was early morning and my bf was hoping to find a banh mi trang for breakfast. We saw the positive reviews and stopped by. The baguettes are baked daily according to the packaging. The bread was pretty hard for a fresh baguette. The filling was not typical of banh mi missing the pickled vegetables and sriracha. Overall it was okay not what we expected.

Google
This place has improved their banh mi's texture.

Google
This is my favorite spot for vietnamese cold cut banh mi, the cuts are fresh with a generous amount and very delicious and flavorful. I recommend getting their #1 on their menu.

I ordered a Banh Mi today in the morning. When I was able to get a chance to eat it, the sandwich I got was not what was on the menu. There was no cucumber, no cilantro, no jalapeño. Instead, they overloaded it with pate and butter - making it salty. When I returned to talk with the shopkeeper to find a resolution. Instead of refunding me, they offered me a quarter of bread and told me to move over the fillings of the old sandwich to the new piece of bread. I said no as that is quite unprofessional and dirty. Do not come here.

Google
Good sandwiches at a great price. The feature here seems to be the bread. I think the owner was trained in France so the baguettes are authentic? I wish I had time to try everything on the menu so maybe I will over the next few visits to SoCal. That ice coffee though.... So so good. Didn't sleep much after drinking one.

Google
I came here a few years ago from florida and loved it so much I took 10 sandwiches back home. It was so good I came back. All of these are scrumptious and I highly recommend

Google
Place is nice and clean but the #1 Special Sandwich that I order is very non-impressive. The baguette was very dry, crumbled and over rises. The pate was not nice all that nicely flavored nor tasty. For $4.25 I get a much better deal at subway for my bucks! I will not be back! I would rather go to either Lee Sandwich or Bali Sandwich if I want to pay for an over priced Vietnamese sandwich.

Google
There are two different menus posted up in the shop, one is American version and the other is Vietnamese, so you can order to what your heart is content. There’s a few stools placed by the window if you’d like to enjoy your baguette and drinks on the premises.

Yelp
idc what anybody says. this is the best banh mi ever. i could never get sick of u Mr. Baguette. i always get the #1 special with veggies on the side! it's my favorite and it has never let me down in my entire life. i grew up eating this and will continue to grow up eating this :) the ladies at the counter are friendly! service is super quick and they get you out of there fast there are no chairs or tables inside to eat. it's a grab and go spot! i usually just take it home to eat 10/10

Yelp
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, friends would occasionally surprise us by leaving bánh mì sandwiches at our front door as a random act of kindness from their favourite shop, "Mr. Baguette". For the uninitiated, a bánh mì is a sandwich popular in Vietnamese cuisine served on a baguette filled with meat, a variety of fresh vegetables (e.g., pickled carrots & daikon, cucumber, pepper, cilantro, etc.), condiments, & more. I'd eaten bánh mì from a few other popular chains, but for some reason the bánh mì sandwiches from "Mr. Baguette" just seemed...better. Fast forward to 2024...When we finally visited "Mr. Baguette" in person, we were pleasantly surprised. Located in the Little Saigon area of Westminster, California, this location of the "Mr. Baguette" chain is tucked away in a modest strip mall, & if you're driving too fast you just may miss it! Upon entry, we immediately noticed that this shop offers a different experience compared to other popular chains we've frequented. During our visits to "Mr. Baguette," it's been pretty low-key & quiet. The take-out only shop is very clean, & (to date), the polite staff handle your food in a sanitary manner, wear face-coverings/masks & gloves, & have maintained the plexi-glass barriers. Their efforts to keep customers & staff safe (rarely seen these days) are very much appreciated --- especially for those who are immune-compromised. Thank you so very much for caring about the health & safety of your customers & staff! The nice variety of bánh mì sandwiches offered at "Mr. Baguette" can be customized with your choice of breads, meats, condiments, & fresh veggies, & they are more than happy to cut your sandwich in half. They even offer faux "meat" options (e.g., vegan chicken, ham, & turkey) for non-meat eaters! The sandwiches we've enjoyed here have always been fresh & delicious, & the baguettes are wonderful. I only wish they would offer gift cards or certificates...it would be great to share the love with others! I'm a fan!

Yelp
I enjoyed this place for years cause of the politely, friendly, courtesy and helpful staff. The place is small, bright, lean cut , friendly space with plenty parking spaces. All foods are to go or quick eat at the high table there against glass window with no chair. I don't like their bread much since it pre baked (frozen) or half way baked then baked the rest on the spot. The meats are quite pleasantly enjoyable and tasty. The cold meats & cold veggies against the warm bread with light butter and pâté are delightful delicious. If you order hot coffee, they will make it on the spot and very good. Their menu have plenty of choices and with 2 type of breads (VNese & US) plus they do have pastries, coffee and juices too. I used ordered the Saigon bacon (pork belly, typical VNese meat for banh mi) but the price had gone up $13 for it...I also enjoy the combo or special #1. Their paté chaud (pork or chicken) is fantastic. Buttery crunchy crush and tasty filling - and it's the biggest size I seem so far too. Yes the prices are on the high end, but worth it once or twice a month (if you give up something for it). I got their special offer coffee & pastry set for $6.50 for hot coffee ($7.50 for iced coffee)...paté chaud & hot milk coffee and #1 special VNnese banh mi for total of $15 (not including tip).

Yelp
Good bread, good service, clean place. I was bummed they didn't have sesame seed baguette available

Michelle N.

Yelp
Hard for me to try a new Banh Mi place and not think about my go-to. I got the Pate & Pork Meatloaf w/ French Baguette (Banh Mi Cha Lua). My favorite cut of meat is the cha so it was a bit hard for me to figure out which one on it was on the menu. Thank goodness I was able to order in Vietnamese! The banh mi and meat itself was pretty good, just nothing too special. The meat was good and plentiful, but the bread was a bit hard like it lost it's crunch and soft inside. I wouldn't mind coming back, but only if I had to. It was still a great meal!

Valy C.

Yelp
Excellent service and quality product, order was on time. Highly recommend to other customers!

Andy V.

Yelp
1. The Banh Mi was delicious, and I love that it was cut in half! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! 3. The staff was friendly and very quick with my order! Note: There is no seating! There is only a standing counter that fits two people! Photo: Thai Tea and Pate Ham Banh Mi

Yelp
This place is one of my go-to Viet Sandwiches in Rosemead and Westminster. Today, I ordered the BBQ Pork sandwiches; there was no hint of lemongrass and barely any filling inside. I forgot to take a picture. Their special sandwich is nothing special. The Rosemead location (original) always has the best butter croissant. They were very eye-catching, but SADLY, I was very disappointed with how dry it was inside, even though it looked good from the outside. I wondered if it was (at least) one day old croissant. A freshly baked croissant should be soft in the center and this wasn't. The server ladies are very pleasant, but I will not be back to this location. They have a combo of bread and coffee for a few bucks cheaper.

Kass K.

Yelp
Service was alright. Saw a review that the strawberry smoothie was spilling everywhere. I had the same experience. So I think it's the consistency of the drink that makes it messy. The mango smoothie came out fine. So if u want a less messy smoothie and better tasting one, I recommend going for the mango. Waited a good 15 min while seeing other customers getting their food first even though they came after. I liked that the place was clean though.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Lacked pate and bread a bit too thick for my liking. Ham special can be packed a bit more of a wham. It satisfies the craving for banh mi to go.

Douglas G.

Yelp
Always the best banh mi in town. They offer a lot of unique options and extras to make your own sandwiches at home as well. Some of the best baguettes as well, and the meats are top quality. Definitely worth the slightly higher places for top quality food.

Nha T.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times and my experiences have been average. The baguettes are crunchy and extremely hard unlike how baguettes should be, which is light, fluffy and crispy. Out of all of the baguettes I've eaten in my life (which is a lot) these are the most hardest in texture. I do appreciate that they have vegetarian options here. I ordered the vegetarian turkey baguette and while the meat was delicious, the bread made it difficult to enjoy because it cut the roof of my mouth. I later ordered the vegetarian turkey in a croissant form since this way, I could enjoy it better with softer bread. Even though the cashier had mentioned that they'd bake the croissant fresh for my order, it was stale and wasn't flaky. The Vietnamese coffee I ordered was sweet, delicious and I liked how creamy it was. There is an option to have the Vietnamese coffee made less strong. The parking can get very crowded since the parking lot isn't that big. There is also parking available in the back as well. Overall, this baguette shop does have potential however, their recipes for the baguettes and other baked goods need improvement.

Yelp
Mr. Baguette is definitely in my top 5 best banh mis in Orange County. When you walk in, you can see all their accolades hung up on the wall next to the register. I used to think their prices were on the higher side, but nowadays most banh mi sandwiches from their competitors are at a similar price point. To me, what sets Mr. Baguette apart is: their superior pork pate and their Saigon bacon. You won't find a cut of meat like their Saigon bacon at any other sandwich shop nearby. It is as delicious as it is beautiful, flavorful pork belly with the gelatinous red exterior. If you can't already guess it, my go to order is the Saigon bacon and the special (love the combination of their headcheese with pate in the special/dac biet).

Tyler T.

Yelp
Get the Pate Chaud. Seriously get the Pate Chaud. It is a buttery meat pastry with the most flaky and buttery croissant on the outside and seasoned pork/ chicken on the inside. It's literally the main reason that I pull up to this place. The banh mi also slaps too. Way harder than certain chains such as Lee's Sandwich because the bread is so crispy. My personal recommendation is the #1 House special and ask for extra carrots and pate. Cute little quick stop place. Stop on by whenever you're in Garbage Grove and don't forget your Vietnamese iced coffee too!

Nikky B.

Yelp
The 3 stars is for friendly services and 1 free baguette with Yelp checked in but that's about it. We got the pate and beef lemongrass and there were nothing memorable about them. The pate was too creamy and salty for my preference. I think they are tons of places to get your bánh mì craving in this area that you won't have to make a special trip or drive for this one.

Yelp
I love this place that I can tell you guys they have great pate chaud but they all had sold out as early as I came. The thai tea and the coffee was great too, but the service sometimes annoy me. The staffs were so nice and friendly except one, with all my visit times just only one that made me wonder why she is still working here and as the cashier while the attitude and the personality is so bad. I spent a couple time with her services, even I went with my mom too. And I saw with my eyes as well Trang is not the good person and with the job as the both ways, she mad at my mom once when my mom changed her mind with the bacon that lady chose. She asked with the angry voice and made my mom scared and confused. Then she walked away and let the another guy helped us, so I decided to buy 2 to make it peaceful and he was nice to help me out with the smiling eyes and apologized! But then she gave us all the orders at the pick up section and told me that's the new guy so he doesn't know how to be a good server, he is bad one blah blah but he had just helped her to calm me down, what's wrong with this lady? He even better than her 10 times I swear at god The second time that I had bad experience with the same person named Trang on the day that I wanna buy one smoothie for myself because my daughter told me that's good ! But I had to wait while she just standing there with another 2 person in the kitchen and just waited for the sandwiches while that's not really busy at that time. Then I heard she ordered the guy to stop break time and made it for me and she was just standing there and waiting. So the beverage will be made with the person that just only work with the drinks ? I think it's not because I recognized that guy was the one who helped her calm me down before, so she doesn't know how to make or just lazy ?? And the third time is not for myself but I was there and it happened front of my eyes how she treated the old lady (maybe homeless but she was clean and nice) with the loud voice and angry face just because the lady wanna make sure with the changes. I felt bad for her because many people looked at the poor old lady slowly walked out but with Trang, her face like the lady deserves to be served like that and I think she will be argued with that lady more if the another staff in the kitchen didn't stop and force her back to work, but she showed that staff a bad looking and didn't give up, she told the next customer the different story and she made all up, likes she was the victim. I love this place but with that lady attitude, she's gonna ruin your place soon. Why do I need to wait for a while to put on these things on public ? Just because I thought maybe she was in bad mood or too busy so that made her like that but NO. After the story that old homeless lady on this Monday and of course with my mom before, everything was clear, that's her personality, her true color and congrats to Mr.Baguette, your customers will be kicked out with your own staff like her !

Yelp
What's Good: The Tuna Sandwich is SO good! Comes with a healthy dose of tuna and the baguette combo is legit. It's now in the rotation with the Special Banh Mi, the best Banh Mi Thit Nguoi (cold cuts with pate sandwich) around Little Saigon. And if they have fresh baguettes coming out of the oven, get it. I go to other places for other types of Banh Mi, like Daikon and Carrot for their Pork Belly and Banh Mi Che Cali for the Chicken (I know, I'm one of the few).

Steve H.

Yelp
When the bread is cold and chewy, it can't be good. The combo baguette is not stand up against others in town (Yummy, Daikon, ...), there is no flavor at all; on top of that, their menu price is most expensive in town.

S F.

Yelp
Friendly service and the pork belly bánh mì I had was perfect. I had it on the soft French bread and got a baguette to go which was also delicious.

Leslie T.

Yelp
The banh mi was yummy!! I got the special and my sister got the lemongrass chicken!! Both tasted delicious. My first time coming here and I'm definitely coming back!!!!

Roger G.

Yelp
Maybe it's just my luck but I've been receiving some bad banh mi"s lately. Within the past 6 months I've visited this location 3 times and there's a reason, stale baguette. I was hoping that today's visit would be a different outcome and it wasn't. Great customer service, fresh meats but unfortunately stale bread. Previously I would request this location at least once every 2 weeks but due to my experiences of late it has dwindled down to once every 2 month

Laurent L.

Yelp
Great sandwiches. I tried few of them. Clean place. Quick service. Little place to sit down and have some coffee. Have restroom as well, it's a plus. Highly recommended.

Nana S.

Yelp
Love their Saigon bacon...but not sure if I want to pay almost $10 bucks for it. $7-8 is reasonable, but $10 is just too crazy.

Susan L.

Yelp
My first time eating Mr. baguette was with a coworker. He bought me a sandwich since I didn't usually have anything to eat at lunch time and this was the best sandwich I have ever eaten and I even saved half of it to eat it for dinner. My coworker bought the sandwich in the morning and it was surprisingly still soft when it came to lunch time. This was my best ever banh mi experience and although it is a little pricey, it is better tasting banh mi than Lee's sandwiches and can create lasting memories.

Catherine N.

Yelp
The patrons are not so good at social distancing, but to be fair the place was packed! (Probably a good sign!) Mr. Baguette did take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Glass panels, social distancing, and masks are required! The Banh Mi Special was very good! Each sandwich is ~$6 and you get 1/2 of a whole baguette, stuffed to the brim with Vietnamese cold cuts and a slew of the typical fresh vegetables (jalapenos, carrot, daikon, cilantro - the works). The bread is crisp, but soft enough so that your palate doesn't bleed with every bite. We tried the soft baguette vs. the traditional French baguette and I much prefer the traditional one, which has that crispy exterior and pillowy insides. It was well-salted, unlike the soft baguette which seemed to have a lot of sugar/sweetness to the dough. Much pricer than other bakeries, so I'm not sure this is worth it. The surprising show-stopper was the Paté Chaud - a Vietnamese meat pies with heavy French influences. The meat was seasoned perfectly, but the pastry was so rich (some might say too rich, but I disagree). Buttery, flakey, and tender - it reminded me of the best freshly baked croissants from France itself with a slightly sweet and salty meatball inside. You can smell the butter they use in the crust! I will be back for more.

Hannaybunnay I.

Yelp
I made a banh mi board using all their meats, pate and Vietnamese mayo and it was such a hit I kept refilling the board. This place has great quality meats and the ladies who helped me at the register were so kind. She made sure she picked out the best looking meats for me and also made sure I checked into yelp so I can get a free loaf of bread. I am definitely come back.

Randy T.

Yelp
I order the meatloaf and egg sandwich, I After I went home, I found out no meatloaf while I am eating, I called the store, he said he is sure to see the meatloaf in the sandwich, he told me to take back for him. I drove back to show him, he is NOT apologized at all. Very bad bad service, I won't come back. This guy has a bad attitude service. If there is zero rating, I will give this store a Zero rating

Dany O.

Yelp
One of my fave sandwich spots.... You have to eat it upside bc the bread is hard at the top but overall the meat and bread are unique and I enjoy em.

Peng H.

Yelp
So good WOW and I just had a bowl of pho at PhoHolic Baguette Sandwiches Baguette Sandwiches

Jim T.

Yelp
Best bread of any chain banh mi, but $9-$10 for a Banh mi is way too expensive. And seeing the prices from one year ago it's a near 50% increase. I get it, inflation, minimum wage increased but 50%? in 1 year?

Amy N.

Yelp
This place has amazing baguette best around!!! I get the egg and pork sandwich often. A great breakfast sandwich! It's a Vietnamese/French style grab and go place. They also have pate and other freshly baked goods. Of course the bread itself is very fresh and made daily. Best to eat it on the spot- if you take it home and leave it overnight it will get hard. If you like Vietnamese coffee they have that here as well. If you like a typical sandwich they have that here too. They open from 6:30am to 7pm daily. The complex gets busy especially during the breakfast/lunch hour and parking can be challenging on the weekend. Weekdays is never a problem. The bread is 95% of the time good, every now and then the bread is a bit hard. Not so good for to go since the bread will get hard on the way home and it doesn't taste so good anymore. If you buy and eat it right away it's amazing!!!!

Rev-d O.

Yelp
Let me start my review with a short story. Years ago I was living in Phu Nhuan District in Saigon. There was a old lady who always had a cart on Hoang Van Thu street near Big C. That lady's cart looked like it was made of left over parts from an exploded air plane. Why am I telling you this? Because that lady made the best Banh mi on the planet. And I've traveled the planet and eaten a lot of Banh mi. I'm also telling you this story because this restaurant would benefit from flying into Vietnam, landing at Tan Son Nhat International, getting a Grab Taxi, renting a hotel... maybe on Hai Ba Trung in District 3, and then using a stolen motobike, drive down Hai Ba Trung making a left on Hoang Van Thu and looking for an old lady with exploded airplane parts and fire. She will teach you. Like Vietnamese Yoda. But in lieu of her advise, maybe try not having hard baguette. The bread should be soft. As if it was cooked today and not 2 days ago. Maybe Sriracha with the pate. Not Jalapeño. Some sliced carrot and maybe some cucumber. Maybe. And of course egg. A little runny. Not super hard like the bread. I'm rating a 3 star because the place looks nice and the staff is awesome. Quality food is below a old lady in District 3 by Big C with an exploded airplane for a grill.

Kenny K.

Yelp
Been coming here for years since the beginning. Quality still there and menu options have expanded and so are the prices. A sandwich and coffee combo is ~20 bucks. I remember the days when it was half that. Lol

Hoang-Quyen P.

Yelp
Not the best sandwiches, price has gone up almost 3x the cost and the service has gone down . I bought 2 baguettes yesterday and it tasted like stale, trying to cut it up and it crumbled in pieces, dry and brittle. This Chinese food to go taste like craps.

Monica H.

Yelp
I've been to this location quite a few times. Always early in the morning before work. I love that they're open by 6:30am. I've ordered the egg and cheese, veggie turkey, veggie ham and meat pastries. All are fresh and good. Today, was my day to bring something for work. I decided to bring a tray of veggie turkey sandwiches. It was 10 sandwiches cut into 3 pieces. Just enough to feed 24 people since I also brought two salads and a veggie tray on the way here. The tray was neatly prepared and my co-workers loved the sandwiches due to how fresh the baguettes were. This place is always clean and service is quite quick

Kim C.

Yelp
Delicious French baguette sandwiches. Nice staffs. The place is clean. I can see the staffs wear gloves and masks while making sandwiches. The price is a bit pricey but I can understand how the cost of supplies have gone up.

Xuan L.

Yelp
Great customer service! Banh Mi is good! The bread gets hard after awhile so you better eat it right away.

Lily T.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite banh mi place. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! They accommodate for those that are vegetarians. Workers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere quick in the area.

Peter L.

Yelp
Baguettes are hot and fresh. Best baguettes in Westminster area. They're so good even after couple days that you can bake it in the oven and it still comes crispy and soft inside.

Hannah N.

Yelp
Ingredients are fresh, service is excellent for a Vietnamese place. Modern look and feel. The best part is their bread--it does taste better! Only downside is theres no Parking during peak hours. But if you go early in the morning it's not a problem

Nini N.

Yelp
I feel like they used to be better, but I've now found other Banh mi places I prefer. I go here if I'm specifically craving sesame baguettes, but their chicken sandwiches are actually quite salty.

alexander k.

Yelp
Not impressed with the sandwiches namely, special and barbecue pork. Not enough of The pâté and the butter spread, e.g. only spreading in the middle part of the bread, no spread on both ends of the bread. The servers were friendly and peasant. The waiting area looked clean.

David T.

Yelp
Always great. Hits the spot every time. Even back home in the motherland doesn't compare. Saigon bacon just the right amount of everything. Freshness quality of meats and veggies. Oh and the bread is awesome highly recommend.

Alexis T.

Yelp
Love the sesame baguette and it's always fresh! The meat and vegetables are also fresh and plentiful. Parking in the center is quite busy during lunch time, but call ahead to order so there is no waiting. Best sandwiches in town and my go to for excellent banh mi!

Doan N.

Yelp
I love this chain! This place needs music though to liven up the spot for real! Came for my cha lua pork and pate cilantro pickled carrot and daikon toasty baguette fix.. and veggie ham for mom. Very nice.

Stephie L.

Yelp
By far my favorite banh mi place! It is probably the cleanest banh mi shop ive seen by far! You can see everything through the open kitchen concept. Their baguettes and meats are all very fresh and tasty too. I was helped by Sonny on my phone order and he seemed like he enjoyed working here. He got my long order and all my extra requests correct.. he made sure of it twice. I think everyone would agree with me that its a hassle to be picking up the wrong order and having to come back to figure it out. So its really nice that Sonny double.. tripled check even when I arrived at the store!

Nijole T.

Yelp
I come here solely for their sesame seed baguette, it is delicious and extremely affordable. Service is great, they get through the lines quickly. Coffee and sandwiches are ok, but I prefer to just buy their bread and make my own at home. Very clean and always fresh, worth checking out!

Kendrick N.

Yelp
I've been to many Banh Mi places and this would be my go-to spot. The soft-to-hard ratio of the bread is just right & has good quality ingredients. I also enjoy looking at the staff's cute lil French hats.
