Cousin! As fans of The Bear, my wife and I felt obligated to grab some Italian beef before our flight out of O’Hare. With a name like Mr. Beef, how could we say “no?” We visited on a Friday evening and it was not super busy. There are ample tables for the busy hours. We were greeted at the counter and ordered from the large menu posted behind the counter. I got an Italian beef plate and a beer; my wife got a gyro plate and pop. Both dishes came with fries and were reasonably priced. The serving sizes were generous and the food was very good. I would go again and recommend it to folks seeking out this kind of food.

Had the Gyros Platter. The Gyros meat was dried out. Asked for some extra sauce and they charged me for it. The Pizza Puff wasn't cooked all the way and the breaded mushrooms were still cold on the inside! The fries weren't completely cooked and were waxy tasting. I guess the cook was in a hurry. The order taker rushes you to order and has a sarcastic attitude. The guy complained about how much he pays for sauce. He doesn't realize that his food was dry and that he charges way too much for subpar food! Relax buddy! If you have to be a jerk to your customers about a little extra sauce maybe try another business! The place is nice on the inside, but because of the food and crappy service, I won't go there anymore.

This past early September marked the very first time trying the popular Mount Prospect eatery after taking my boys to a nearby indoor playground. Venue has a spacious dining area with an old school classic vibe, slot machines, extensive all-around menu with really good food (especially the pizza) at still reasonable prices and friendly service. A cool place to dine in for some good quality eats and family/kid friendly indeed. I live all the way up in Beach Park but if ever down in the area again, I'd highly consider stopping at Mr. Beef and Pizza again! I've always strived to support local and hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).

I ordered a pepperoni pizza slice. I became alarmed when I noticed there was just one pepperoni on the pizza and then found that most of them were hidden beneath the cheese layer. I believe this was done on purpose to give it a distinctive appearance. The pizza's cheese was spread equally throughout. The pie's frame was airy and slightly firm, and the sauce had a subtle tartness. I also had a New York strip steak sandwich. The steak itself was delicious and had a good charred aroma from the grill. The only issue I had was that it was cooked too well, which made it difficult to chew. The bread is lightly toasted, has a lovely golden color, and is still fluffy. The sandwich is served with sliced tomatoes, a little sweet grilled onions, and freshly chopped lettuce. Despite its simplicity, the sandwich had a pleasant flavor and texture.

LOVE this place! Fried mushrooms were amazing. The Sausage Pizza Slice was so cheesy and delicious. Honestly, I haven't had one bad thing on the menu yet! Salads, sandwiches and soups are soooo good as well. The only downfall here is I NEVER know what to order, so many good options. You have to try this spot, they wont let you down!

I don't know what happened with my pizza 😐 I believe this is a pre-made FROZEN DOUGH! VERY DISGUSTING AND DISAPPOINTING it's not fresh pizza DOUGH LIKE 😕 😒 😞 😪 😢 BEFORE I used to come here before almost every week for $9.99,$11.99 now $13.99 i am sorry I can accept the prices 😢 😞 😔 but now a frozen DOugh really makes me sad 😔 I don't think 😢 they gonna 😢 😢 be here 😢 for long time...I Love this place we made a lot of good memories with the family team st. My coworker recommended me where to get a good gyro, Mr. Beef! I came here with an appetite for a gryo. When I arrived back to work, my sandwich was very cold. I'm 3 minutes away from work and was expecting a hot sandwich. Very disappointed!

My buddy and I stopped in to check this joint out a few months back after being recommended from one of his coworkers. I totally dig the classic old school diner vibes and its a shame that there was only a few people inside when we were there. The sweet lady who took our order was very helpful to recommend some items on the menu. Overall the place seemed well kept and honestly under appreciated. Wait times for food were reasonable and things moved along well and without fuss. I jumped at the usual things i get from these kinds of places. The french fries were decent, but didn't really have much that set them above the average fry, though we ain't hating here. Of course I had to get the mozzarella sticks, and it was the right choice like always. The flavor and texture were on point, and the pull was tenfold. The marinara needed a little more going for it, but that didn't detract. My main item, a basic hotdog was solid as well. I intended to try some other things next time for sure, since they have pizza as well. It's a gall darn shame this place wasn't jumping when we were there, cause I can imagine what that atmosphere would be like. Lets spread word about Mr Beef! Can't wait to be back!

Mr Beef us our "Go To"! I ove the salads and my partner loves the beef sandwiches. Although their pasta dinners are also yummy. Matter of fact, I don't think we've ever ordered anything we didn't like!!!

What has happened to this place. They took all the TVs out and the crabby grey haired older women ignored us while we were in line. This used to be a fun family type place. Now it seems like a shell of what it was. What a disappointment. No friendly workers anymore. Food was good. But it was more than the food bringing us here.

My wife and I went there for lunch on July 4th weekend. I had a beef, fries and a slice of cheese pizza and my wife had a slice of cheese. I hadn't been there for a while, and it is as good or better than I remember it. The beef is not over seasoned or spicy which is fine with me because the beef is top quality and I love the flavor of the meat and I don't want it over powered by spices. I had the beef with sweet peppers on it and their hot pepper mix on the side. While the hot pepper mix had a great taste and aroma, I cannot tolerate hot spice too well, so I couldn't eat that much of it. But that' s just me. I thought the quality was excellent. The pizza was a big slice with lots of cheese and a good firm crust. Very good and filling, we both loved it. With the beef, fries and pizza, I was full the whole rest of the day. And, the place is very clean and there is a lot of room. I do miss the TVs but let's face it, but most of us probably watch too much TV anyhow!

Mr. Beef and Pizza, two of my all time favorite things. Visited on a Saturday afternoon 2pm, inside is huge clean, and has that 50's diner vibe happening, only a hand full of people eating inside the restaurant. Ordered a combo meal with sweet and hot peppers and a slice of sausage pizza, dine in. The pizza had a crispy thing going on the crust, like it may have been reheated? It's definitely a thicker style crust heavy on the sauce and cheese. The sauce was kind of bland but the sausage pieces were good. Cheese was good, but the slice was average at best, not something I would go out of my way for. The combo with sweet and hot was a let down. The beef was dry and the gravy lacked any deep Italian flavor, did not get any garlic or oregano spices more like a beef broth. The Italian sausage also lacking spice no fennel or seasoning. The sweet peppers and giardiniera did help make it better. Fries were a frozen bag variety that were not salted and pretty plain. So they have a huge menu with just about everything you can think of, however when you call yourself Mr. Beef and Pizza I expect a great Italian beef and a delicious pizza. It's good but not great in my opinion. No desire to try anything else from the large menu.

As a lover of pizza and beef I was excited to eat here. I've driven by for years and finally tried it. It's ok. They won't win any awards for their pizza (which is heavy) and the beef was decent but not particularly memorable. The service was good. As for the ambiance, I'm not sure what was off about it maybe it was the ripped, dirty looking booths or maybe it's that tacky purple color. As we were walking out, the man filling the gumball / prize machines gave my boys a couple of prizes. That was really appreciated. I'll give it another shot though and you should too. Places like this deserve a second chance.

Use to love this place. Chicken sandwich with fries and a Pepsi almost $17.19. $8.25 for a sandwich and $4.99 and $2.25 for cheese fry and medium Pepsi. I thought it said "bundle and save" I don't think so!! I understand that prices have gone up everywhere but I have not seen this kind of mark up ANYWHERE! Hope you come back to earth with your prices.

I love this place, the food is fantastic! The service is awesome! The ambience is out of a real cool diner, they also have a little gaming area if that is your gig as well. I highly recommend them, I don't see how anybody could not like this place! I've been going there for years and years and always enjoy going there.

Unlike other fast food locations....they get the orders correct. Something unique in my experiences. Yes, prices increased but it's not their fault! Great sandwiches....great fries!

Best pizza if you want something between thin and hand tossed. Sauce is great! Tomato sauce gives me heartburn but this doesn't. So, the Italian beef has more flavor than Portillo's that has been such a sell out the last few years. Mr. Beef has great prices especially through the times right now. You can get an Italian beef for the same price as a McDonald's cheeseburgers meal.

really wanted to like this place... it has a such a cute diner vibe and an inviting menu but unfortunately just missed the mark on everything. food (pepper and egg and a salad for me; gyros, burger, kids nuggets) were fine at best. and omg the ladies room made me lose my appetite even more. we had just come from the nearby park district that had a cleaner porta potty. the staff was so sweet but unfortunately would not reco a visit.

I love this place, the fries and mozzarella sticks are a most, great food options and at a great price, easy in and out of the drive thru or sit inside its very spacious they even have a party room, I got my niece hooked off this place she goes daily, Every time I am near I have to make the stop

The pizza is mediocre. The steak sandwich is the best thing on the menu. Outdated location, looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1980s. It's usually pretty dingy and dirty. The service is friendly, but this isn't my first choice for lunch when I'm in EGV

I am a huge Italian beef fan and finally got to try this place. I wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, however for a place that has beef in their name I would have expected better. I have been spoiled by their neighbors Mr. Beef in Arlington Heights and Bubbys in Elk Grove. They do have a bigger menu than both so if you are going with a big group who all have a taste for different things this would be a good choice.

Haven't been here in a few years, went through drive-up. Was a little unsure what I wanted, decided on sausage and broccoli bites and then added a small soda. When I got to the window I apologized for the delay in my ordering, cashier Niku P couldn't have been sweeter; she said sometimes she can't decide either. Kudos to her! Food and price was good. Will be back

Drive thru! That's something! Worth the 20 mins wait. It was our first time here. Great service. Food was delicious and was made to order. You don't need to even asked for condiments it came with it. Which we forgot to ask lol. Coke drink was also yummy it's like McDonald's coke! Lol Not a fan of their onion rings though.I would get my onions rings at portillos. XD

Finally decided to go here after they opened up limited seating inside. Beefs are to sloppy to eat in you're car and I like my beefs dipped so lots of napkins are needed and a table. They say their recipe is the same one used at Mr. Beef on Orleans in the city. I've been to that one several times back in the day, and I remember the city location being much better that here plus the giardinera was better downtown. Now the beef sandwich here was A-OK. I asked for mine dipped and it wasn't but still pretty juicy. The person at the register wasn't the most friendly but the person giving out the food was much nicer. I'll take a beef from Johnnies or Portillos or even Buona beef before here but if I'm in the area again and craving a beef or combo I would stop here again. They have a very interesting sandwich called the Italian Trio that I want to try. Its described in the menu as 1/2 beef, 1/2 sausage, 1/2 meatball. They offer 3 sizes of beefs, a junior a regular and a big that was really quite big and filling. Drive thru and looks to have plenty of parking. Pizzas thin and pan, and by the slice, salads, pastas, chicken, hot dogs and burgers. Good value. Catering too!

Best beef in Chicagoland. Buonas, Portillos, no other compares. Get a cheesy beef on garlic.

Great cheese burger and the cheese pizza is pretty good. Reminds me of Orange Bowl - lol, I'm really aging myself here huh? Anyone remember the Orange Bowl in woodfield? Lol

Another great spot near work. Stopped by with the Sales crew for a bit of good Mangia & conversation. The Gyro's plate came as a good recommendation & since I haven't had it in a while sounded like a good choice...And yes it was. So far nothing tends to disappoint here at Mr Beef & Pizza! Stopped in for lunch today and was disappointed with the prices. Normal size grilled Chicken Sandwich. Nothing fancy and a large drink 12.65. I know times are tough but man 8.25 for a sandwich and 3.15 for a large fountain drink? They buy the fountain mixers in bulk for Pennies per ounce. This is insane. Shame really, the food is good.

Was craving a BLT pizza and they popped up on Uber Eats. Really tasty and decently sized pizza even though I ordered the smallest size. The crust isn't super thin, but is light, airy, and crisp. I was really impressed with that and compliments the BLT pizza perfectly, making it tasty while it's hot and fresh and good and crisp cold as leftovers. Also grabbed the popcorn shrimp dinner. It's basic and what you'd expect, but good quality. Not greasy, fresh, and not all breading. Cocktail sauce and coleslaw were on point as well. Would definitely like to explore more menu options here.

This is a small business we have supported frequently, during this pandemic. My daughter loves their chicken parm sandwich and cheese fries, and they have the BEST breaded mushrooms with a side of really good ranch--- yes, some ranch that other restaurants give can be not so good....this is REALLY good ;) We have also tried their pizza puff, gyro salad, cheesy beef and pizza slices and all were great. Their delivery is always on time, even sometimes early, and the food is always hot and fresh.

I was pretty excited about experiencing the famous Italian Beef sandwich and hit Mt Beef straight away after checking into our hotel. The older lady at counter was less than friendly and appeared annoyed at us from the moment we walked in the door. Big city I thought to myself, not a big deal. The sandwich was nothing like what I remembered from my childhood. What happened to the flavor? How is it possible to make a wet sandwich taste so.... dry, Thank God I went with the spicy peppers and cheese or this would have been a complete disaster. Place was clean, and character was awesome.

Large and varied menu. Pizza is above average (get it well done), and they have specials on Mondays for a large cheese pizza. Italian beef is plentiful, but get it juicy with mozzarella cheese on garlic bread: trust me, this is the way. Gyros and burgers are tasty. Pizza puff, mozzarella sticks, and cheese fries are all excellent side choices. Their pasta is decent too. Something for everyone here. I have been visiting this place for 23 years and the quality of the food has always been consistent. Local mailers sometimes have coupons for the place.

I ordered a Gyros grilled with extra meat. Extra meet is supposed to be additional half order of meat. If my sandwich was extra meat I would hate to see how small regular sandwhich is. Flavor was good portion is a rip off. Go elsewhere.

Yay! I'm a fan of their slices. I only met Mr Pizza as I didn't feel like an introduction with Mr beef was necessary. A slice and a draft of MGD for about $6.99 with tax. A large enough slice with tasty sauce and a frozen pint of beer. It was good. Good za slices are hard to come by in this area. Yes there are a number of businesses that sell pizza but not many sell decent slices. Their slices are thin crust with that bread crumb powdered bottom. Pastry type with a nice chew and tasty sauce with a crispy crust. Any slice on hand is a mere $3 dollars. The place would remind you of 70s era diners with pink neon and vinyl booths. The kind of place small children would find intriguing. Speaking of children, this location has a separate party room that could seat forty with arcade classics. One detail not known to the public is that they have a drive-thru. I've eaten in this area for more than a decade and found this out about a week ago. It'd be great if management knew the pluses with using signage.

F THIS PLACE! They made a pregnant women cry! I used their drive through as I was in a hurry to deliver some paperwork all the way to Winnetka. I ordered a hot dog for $2.99 and chicken tenders and a large unsweetened iced tea. ...when someone orders a large drink you can assume they're pretty f-ing thirsty! So I pulled up to the window, she had my iced tea ready, took my card, swiped and returned it and ran away.... without giving me my iced and just left it in the window behind the glass. WTF LADY! I waiting for 10 minutes for this lady to come back, dying or thirst and extremely hungry counting down the minutes on a serious time crunch! When I finally got my food I quickly drove off and headed towards the highway. I could not wait to eat that hot dog! Yum! I pulled the hot dog out of the bag at a red light and couldn't wait to unwrap the deliciousness I was about to devour. (Had breakfast at 9am and wasn't able to get food until this hotdog which was around 3pm which is an extremely long time for a pregnant lady to be hungry af..so you can imagine how badly I could not wait to eat a hot dog) So I unwrap my hot dog and what do I see?- NOTHING. It's just a meat on a bun! WTF IS THIS SHIT!? What the hell did I pay $2.99 for? I was expecting a fully loaded Chicago hot dog. I was so upset I started crying uncontrollably. STARVING AND ALL I GET IS A SAD PIECE OF MEAT ON SOME BREAD.... they should be ashamed of themselves! I cried for 20 minutes, threw that bullshit out and only ate the gross low quality fried chicken tenders. All I wanted was a perfect hot dog. I was extremely disappointed and even flicked this place off on my way to work the next day.

Pizza is good, but too cheesy for me. I asked for lighter cheese, but it still was too much. Maybe I should go without it ..

I am very surprised with the pizza here. I'm sorry thin crusts lovers, I typically don't like thin crust. I want to feel like I'm eating pizza. I want to pick up a slice with substance and feel like I'm eating something a little bread-y and not a hot cracker with cheese on it. I don't want to hear "crunch crunch" when I bite into pizza, ever. And what's the deal with square-cut pizza? Seriously, someone please explain this to me. What's the point of this? When you traditionally or pie-cut pizza, every slice for the most part is fairly equal in ingredients and size. But when you start making the pizza look like like tiny bathroom tiles, then you end up with really large center pieces with 100% cheese and toppings with no crust and then the neglected, unloved, edge pieces/step children of the pizza where it's like 60% crunchy cracker and only 40% toppings around the edges. Now I'm no Pizzaologist, but I don't like those numbers. And be honest with yourselves folks, no one eats the edges, unless you're the sucker who stands in line first and has no choice. Everyone else just gets the edge slices to be polite but deep down they just want to be pizza selfish and grab the giant, perfect, crustless "slices" in the middle like anyone with common sense. So yeah, Mr. Beef's and Pizza was surprising. The crust was soft and chewy and it DID NOT feel like I was eating a little cheese cracker snack, but a cheesy meal. And believe me, they did not skimp on the cheese. To make it even better, their sauce was light and actually tasted like tomatoes and not tomato paste. There were some bites that actually had little chunks of tomatoes that weren't completely crushed in the sauce making process. I love that!

I want to thank you for the warm hospitality and delicious food.Every item served was top notch in taste and proportions. The Pizza, Beef, meatballs, sausage, pasta and salads all excellent. It meant a lot to the whole group and personally cant thank you enough. I will go out of my way if close to the area for your delicious food, warm hospitality and quaint setting. OK, I've been coming here for 20 years and lived in the neighborhood. I think maybe the pandemic has made the quality of the food suffer. I had the year of salad which had a minuscule amount of meat. Mostly comprised of Romain lettuce which I ultimately threw away. Next time I guess I will just get the gyro. The next time I was there I had the barbecue beef dinner special. The meet was a clump of goo. It used to be good but somehow they changed the meat. I will not order that again. I will return however and stick to the gyro. Unfortunately, pandemic has affected too many of our businesses. They seem to be cutting corners in order to stay alive.

Ordered chicken Parmesan and found a staple on my food. Why would there be a staple on my food. Last time I'm going and I went here a lot. I would've preferred a piece of hair, at least it wouldn't have cause internal bleeding and surgery.

I have ordered from them several times now and can safely say give em a try! Good size beef sandwiches! Tasty and quick! Fantastic milkshakes and fries too. Their pizza is also quite scrumptious!

Food is high quality for fast food, cool 50's interior lot of variety on the menu, a bit expensive but like I said high quality fast food is more expensive, I really like this place

We have been coming here over 1 years .The food is good ,the variety is good but lately the prices make it not worth it ,3 hot dogs small fries and a chili 30.00 .Sorry not worth it any more ,sorry guys

Pretty good food all around. You won't be disappointed if you get a beef sandwich, burger, or slice of pizza. Haven't really had anything else here but I'm sure it is solid like everything else I have had.

Mr Beef has a full menu and everything that I have tried has been consistently great food... Mr Beef has great food... Service is always efficient and quick Glad it is close by because my family and I cannot get enough.
