You know it's hard for me to love Algiers but this hidden gem in Algiers just makes me appreciate the city a little more. Mr Bs Bakery has to been thee best donuts I've ever had ! And trust me I tried a few all over the West Bank I didn't know the best was just a few more exits away. Maybe it's just my timing But every time I go there and order myself a treat is always hot and fresh and yes I'm gatekeeping when it comes to them. Sorry, y'all can have coffee & 😂

I’ve been making the drive there since I heard about this place in a group during Covid. This was when glazed beignets were first introduced! When it was a novelty. I’ve brought family and friends and recommended this place to friends visiting NOLA. My last visits changed that. My last visits were my last visit. Again, here I was passing up other bakeries, driving out of my way, bringing someone to try their glazed beignets. I walk in during business hours and they don’t have any because they stop selling them at a certain time. Okay, what time? An hour before you arrived. Got it, so we went back the next day before the stated time. I ordered the glazed beignets and out from the back walks this woman who then announces that the beignet fryer should be turned off no matter what time of day it is if they get busy 😒😒😒1.) There wasn’t a soul in the place other than me. 2.) It’s a bakery that’s now morphed into a snowball stand (change your name please). 3.) That public announcement was extremely tacky, unprofessional and unnecessary, yet extremely necessary. Now, I can stop putting miles on my car and go right down the street to get my sugar fix because no matter what time you order their menu items, it doesn’t change based upon the whims of the owners and I can literally get it on a delivery app in less than 10 minutes. Side note: there is a man who I suspect to be the owner who is extremely warm and respectful of customers. The bonnet-wearing young lady behind the register who seems absolutely miserable to be there and the public announcement making lady, not so much. Imagine treating customers like they’re a nuisance 🙄Like, how dare you walk in and order a menu item 😂😂Very disappointing experience. If glazed beignets is what you’re looking for, look elsewhere. If horrible customer service and wasted time is what you’re seeking, look no further!

Lady behind the counter was friendly, made us some awesome beignets, they were glazed….very light and HOT AF. Very good. When you’re done go to SGM service station down the street for the best fried chicken you ever had

Truly amazing. Found this little spot while visiting the area a few weeks ago and I’m so happy we did. Wish I had a place like this at home! Mr. B and all his people were so kind. The Mardi Gras beignets were so delicious…and an added bonus they were glazed so no messy powdered sugar!!

We traveled 80 miles to this Bakery and I was worth every minute we just had to try the glaze beignets they were cooked to order and so good even the next day with popping them in the microwave they were so delicious I would recommend for everyone to go and try the glazed beignets and next time I'll come earlier so I can try the delicious breakfast as well and the service was so welcoming!

Met owner for the 1st time. He had a line outside the bakery and it was raining but they were practicing social distancing. He made us come inside where it was warm and dry and jumped right in with the orders. Got us in and out. He rocked. Ohh yeah breakfast was delicious too. And those beignets😍😍😍

The glazed beignets are a 10/10! I'm not the biggest pastry or donut lover, but these are delicious! They're light and the glaze isn't overbearing. They even taste good after they've cooled if you throw them in an air fryer. Customer service was great! I definitely recommend giving them a try, especially for the glazed beignets.

Before taking a drive to the end of the "boot" in Louisiana, we decided to stop here for a small bite to eat. Besides having a glazed beignet, which I had never tried before, everything was pretty subpar. The service was cold and indifferent, and they were sold out of most of the items on the menu with empty display cases.

I had a large donut order, 27 dozen of glazed donut. The donuts were fresh, warm and ready for pickup on time! My staff members truly enjoyed the donuts, the service is superb!

I stopped by Mr. B's Bakery and purchased 3 dozen glazed beignets for my coworkers and I. Some of them have never had a glazed beignet before until now, and needless to say, they absolutely loved them. Hot, fresh, and a beignet. Their beignets are a 10 out of 10. Service - 8 out of a 10 Ambiance - 5 out of 10. Please don't think that this is a fancy spot because it is not. I normally go in, order what I need to order, then leave. Yes, they sell breakfast plates and breakfast sandwiches as well. Grab a plate of liver and grits while you're there.

This shop has the most expensive Donuts in New Orleans! Easy in and out with quick service.

Very good the kit sausage egg and cheese in toasted is everything and the beignets..The staff is super friendly and it feels like home everyone seems to know one another.

Small bakery on the Westbank where you can get donuts, beignets, cakes, king cakes, and even a hot breakfast plate. It's located in a strip mall just down the street from Karr high school. The inside is small, but there are a few high top tables to sit and eat. They're open until 5:00pm, but I'd suggest that you get their early if you'd like anything other than beignets. I arrived around noon and the donut case was pretty sparse. There were a few cakes in the pastry case as well, but the glazed beignets are the star of the show here and the reason why I came. You can get them hot and fresh at any time of the day. They make them to order, so if you're getting more than I'd say a half dozen be prepared for a wait. When I went there was only one person working and she had a large order that she was working on. I waited over an hour for three dozen beignets. The young lady working was very kind and apologetic about the wait, but it wasn't her fault. Only so much you can do when you're short staffed. I had no issues here, but again, just be mindful if you visit. The wait paid off in the end though as everyone that got their hands on one of the warm delights adored them. Hopefully they can get some more staff soon as I'd love to try some of the other pastries and a breakfast sandwich.

Small shop in shopping center but big on flavor. I had the Hot fresh made to order glazed beignets and they were delicious. They also serve breakfast but I arrived too late to try and they make doughnuts in house. You should be able to find something that you like .

The food is amazing! You must order the glazed beignets best I've ever had. The service makes you feel like home. You are always given a warm greeting when you walk in the door. It's definitely a comfortable ambiance and hidden gem on the Westbank.

I called this place to see if they sell hot glazed beignets and whoever answered the phone had the nastiest attitude. She need to watch her tone.

This was my first time here. Seriously I tried to call at least 5 times about my order. These grits are not fresh. Y'all dead wrong. Just be cutting corners and selling people anything. Then wanna act all surprised when I called to let them know. You cannot re-warm grits. Period! Now I see someone stating my review was a lie. A girl answered the phone and stated there is a lady on the phone saying the grits are not fresh. I spoke to the owner. I could hear someone in the background a guy saying he told them not to serve it. I cannot make this up. For the young lady saying that I am lying. I've been cooking longer than you've been alive and I know old grits from fresh grits it's obvious you do not. Some people just eat anything. Had the food been on point, I would have given a positive review but it was not. So that's that!

Wonderful donuts! Picked up a couple dozen for a work meeting today. They were fresh, tasted delicious and I will definitely go back again!

The best neighborhood bakery! I've lived very close to Mr. B's (previously Honey Whip Donuts) for a very long time now and I can confidently say that I have never come across a bakery quite like it. For the longest time I would just get the donuts, which are to die for, but this year I finally tried one of their king cakes and OMG it was amazing! It is very similar to Randazzo's king cakes, so if you like those, then you'll definitely like Mr. B's king cakes. I may have even liked Mr. B's more than Randazzo's. On top of that, Mr. B, his wife, and the employees are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Do yourself a favor and try out Mr. B's bakery!

I've only visited once so far but very reasonable prices and delicious pastries. I look forward to visiting again as I always pass by when I'm dropping my husband off at work.

Haven't Been To Mr B's In About 5 Months Because I Don't Have An Appetite In The Morning Due To My Pregnancy, Ok so after I paid my light bill this morning I called to place and order but all I got was a busy signal which is to be expected for such a fine establishment.. so on my way there my car started running hot & I was like I'll run in and order I just won't turn my car off got to the register & I forgot the young lady name who took my order but everytime I have cash I tip her because no matter what she goes through she be at work with a smile! She's also sweet & patient well she told me 7 minutes & gave me a hot glaze donut for the wait. I waited less than 5 minutes & my Hot sausage with egg & cheese on toast was ready! I truly appreciate y'all from the bottom of my heart yall steady amaze me btw that sandwich did not make it home I tore it up!

BOY if you haven't been to MR. Bs Bakery you need to... EVERY Ting is awesome but these GLAZED BEIGNETS are OFF THE CHARTS.... I'll never eat that powdered shit again.

OK, being from Cali is cool, but NOLA bakeries, honestly put us to shame! I'm almost 50 and I've never seen twisted donuts with chocolate and vanilla glaze!! The best of both worlds!! The eggs don't need cheese but, they taste like it's some in there... and they melt in your mouth! The grits are well cooked, perfect for your daily dose of folic acid. I now know why breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

I went for the glazed beignets that I had heard/read so much about. They were light and fluffy and hot with that nice glaze. Very good and the other family members that came with me (we were visiting from H-town) enjoyed them as well. The lady behind the counter that served us was friendly. Thank you Mr B's and I look forward to trying something else next time I'm in town!

Customer service is amazing but the donuts taste like they fried in grease with food or burnt grease.

Sometimes there is a little wait but I dont complain when the food is good. Also, the lady Kerry is the most welcoming person I've ever met. The hot glazed beignets make you do the Beenie Weenie when you bite into them. Definitely a place you have to visit for breakfast when you're on the West Bank.

Friendly service and the doughnuts are so much better than the sweet-empty that is Krispy Kreme. Their breakfast food choices are delicious and consistent too. I am happy they're in my neighborhood.

With fast in and out location, I stop by early mornings. Always greeted with a pleasant "Good morning". The donuts here are always fresh with a nice assortment to choose from. This morning he had made Baklava and it was wonderful. This spot is the best kept secret on the West Bank.

This business is NOT closed. I stopped in this morning and told the owner some jerk claimed him closed. Then I got some awesome donuts to go.

These were the best doughnuts I have ever tasted. The service was excellent and the lady there was very nice. I have made doughnuts before in the navy, and these are the BEST!!! But, what really impressed me was the lady was talking to a man that looked homeless while I was waiting and she treated him with so much respect. If you want good service, good doughnuts, from someone who expressed genuine love for humanity go here for doughnuts.

My wonderful husband brought a sample box home earlier this week I in fact was skeptical. To preface I up until Now, an Atlanta born and raised die hard Krispy Kream girl. Most southerners are loyal and true to their hometown childhood establishments, I thought I was.That was until I ate one of Mr. B's sublime mouth watering, earth shattering fritters. I then followed that with the pure divinity of the soft delectable donut hole. Then the grand finally of chocolate twist. Today I stopped in at 6:40 line already forming, until his doors opened at 7am. I will never look at another donut or confection the same way again. Staff is friendly, customer's delighted to share their experiences with you. If I could give a ten star rating I would! If you want a sweet heavenly taste of New Orleans, take the ferry, drive over the GNO (aka) Crescent City Connection. The trip to Algiers is worth it. Just another Jewel tucked away with in my favorite city in the South. FYI even better than Varsity's fried peach pie, and for an Atlanta lady that is a compliment beyond anything most Georgia gals would ever say!! Mr. B's best kept secret in Nola and Algiers!!!! Try it you will be awestruck by the southern pride and homemade buttery like Grandma used to make. Highly recommended, get there early for donuts, stay for shrimp and grits, and lunch plate's.

I went there yesterday to grab donuts for the office. The donuts were good and tasted very fresh. They were a little bit wet from the icing, but it didn't make them soggy. They were reasonably priced. The selection was good and everyone enjoyed them. The gentleman at the restaurant was very friendly and fast.

Grabbed a dozen donuts yesterday and a couple of something else, round and small and cinnamony. All was delightful. The donuts were somehow both light and fluffy, yet still dense enough for one to be satisfying. Though, I wager eating only one will be a difficulty. They're just a couple miles from home and on the way to work. This will surely be a problem for both time and diet.

Mr. B's is awesome. The owner is a sweetheart, as are the cashiers/servers. And the baked goods are phenomenal. My husband adores the donuts. I love the apple fritters. And now he bakes cakes! I ordered a birthday cake for my husband and it is delicious, and very pretty. This is a hidden gem in Algiers.
