"The second surprising shutter is the upscale Asian restaurant Mr. Chow in Malibu. The hip former hotspot first opened in 2012, but closed earlier this month without so much as a peep. A tipster send along a couple of photographs of the buttoned-up space, including the signature white-on-white interior that has been completely lifted of any furniture." - Farley Elliott

Nice decor, great ambiance. Kinda cozy for such an exquisite dining experience. Everything smelled great. Food was deliciously prepared. Our lady server was sweetheart. Can we consider adding a few more pescatarian and vegan options?

Food was ok though overpriced (rent, no doubt). They rushed us through. Before we finished our first course they pulled our plates (while we were eating) to deliver the second course. I objected to the back waiter but he ignored me. Tables around me were shocked and told me I should speak to the GM. I tried. She said he was their best waiter and it was our fault for not eating fast enough. With my guest in the restroom she asked if we wanted the check or dessert. I asked her to at least wait until my guest returned. I was so insulted I asked for her name and the name of the server (4 times). They refused to give it to me. No doubt because they were so ashamed of how we were treated. This is an over-priced tourist trap serving mediocre food with a dated menu and no management oversight. If this were my business, I would have fired the GM and the waiter on the spot. Avoid this place unless you like abuse.

We tried to have dinner at the Mr.Chow restaurant on Sunday. It was complete disappointment. First of all, it listed as a Chinese food restaurant. But it is NOT a Chinese restaurant, no Chinese food at all. The second, we were waiting to be seated (empty restaurant), were sent to the bar. We asked for the menu, waitress brought it in 15 min, asking to be patient. The dishes are very small and waaaaay overpriced. The service was very poor. The waitress was spoken monotone loud voice. We ordered soup, asked, if they have bread or crackers. she "sent" us to the Italian restaurant across the street. We paid $219 for 3 small dishes(no drinks), waitress "recommended" to share between 3 of us. We left the restaurant hungry. We Do NOT recommend the Mr.Chow restaurant.

Dark Dark! The service was great and the food was delicious BUT it was so dark we couldn't see the food! Everyone had to use their cell phones! It definitely put a damper on what might and should have been a great dinner! We couldn't even see the bill when they brought it! We had to do it with our cell phones! Silly, really but actually not so silly when we got the bill!! It could be so great but----not something I would do again unless I came with a head lamp! And- by the way- the restaurant was empty- perhaps they might shine a lamp on that?

Very disappointed - had barely received our cocktails that they started serving the food - never had such an expedited meal for that money. Several lessons to be learned from the Las Vegas and Miami locations. And to top it off, the duck, which is the house specialty, we had only thighs - no breast at all and we could hardly see our plates it was so dark - very disappointed- nothing to do with the other locations!

Awful... Don't waste your money. Service was good. Food was over priced strip mall fare. The waitress was a bit condensing and speaking from script. When told the spareribs were tainted, she ignored us and came with the bill. Going to Chin- Chin next time. Boo Booo!!!

Great atmosphere, comfortable and cozy, really great staff, not at all snooty or pretentious, delicious food. It's always a pleasure to go here
