Great carryout option for Indian food! The staff are very polite, and the food is packaged nicely. The mango lassi, butter chicken, and samosas are delicious! Also, some extra goodies came alongside my meal for free (naan, two mini chicken burritos, and rice pudding)! For me, the dinner portion of butter chicken is enough for three meals (about a third is pictured here), so it's super affordable!

Google
This has to be one of the best Indian meals we have ever had. We called the day before for pickup the next afternoon. He was so helpful with deciding spice level for each dish. Everything was ready when we arrived and packed carefully so it stayed warm. We shared all dishes and loved every one. My favorite was the coconut curry chicken. They added complimentary wraps and rice pudding, which was absolutely delicious. So happy we found this place, so easy and absolutely loved how each dish was spiced differently and tasted homemade and fresh!

Google
Amazing. First experience with Indian food outside of New York City. I have to admit, I was extremely impressed! Make a reservation...it gets crowded fast. Don't miss this place.

My husband loves Indiana food (I’ve never had it) and he’s been really wanting to try this place! Last night we did and wow! It was great. Everyone was so nice. Great experience! We will be ordering here again.

Google
Absolute best Indian food in town. I wish they still had dine-in and were open more days but that's the only complaint. Every single dish I've gotten from here has been excellent and you can customize the spice level to your preference. I always get several entrees so I have leftovers for several meals.

Google
Mr.Curry is the most attentive chef around. Our family has been fed by him and his kitchen for years and I would not change a thing. He truly is a blessing to the community. P.s I'm hungry and ordering them tonight 🥰 I ONLY wish they would open for dine in again. I loved going there.

Tristan

Google
Good portions and quality for the price, my meal came with extra snacks that were really good.

Google
I recently ordered a large catering spread from Mr. Currys for a party, and I can't say enough about how fantastic the food was! Every single guest raved about the dishes, making it a truly memorable dining experience. The appetizer Mr. Currys Express Wrap, was a huge hit—everyone loved the flavors. The standout was definitely the Chicken Biryani. It was rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced, making it a crowd favorite. Guests also couldn't stop talking about the Paneer Tikka Masala and Chana Masala, both of which were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. To top off the meal, the Rice Pudding was a delightful sweet ending, and the Mango Lassi was refreshing and creamy. If you're looking for delicious Indian food in town, I wholeheartedly recommend ordering from Mr. Currys. They simply are one of the best restaurants around, and I can’t wait to order from them again!

Yelp
These are not the typical flavors you get at Indian restaurants in the United States. Bottom line, the food is excellent. We picked up Chicken Biryani, Coconut Chicken Curry, Paneer Matar, and they threw in an Express Wrap Vegetable. I would order all of these again but the consensus was the Biryani and Paneer were the favorites. Large portions, good prices.

Yelp
Chicken Tikka Masalaaaaaaa!!! Yum. My favorite Indian food around. It's only carry out, no dining there, and only open 4 evenings a week. But we order their food often. I think we've also had their vindaloo, paneer, and sag dishes in the past, and they were good. But the chicken tikka masala is now our usual. And I love their rice. FYI they cut their naan bread into wide strips. Maybe just tell them if you don't like that, but it's great for dipping into sauce.

Jana J.

Yelp
A hidden gem on the outside of town. Everything I've tried has been fantastic. From the price to the service and both quality and quantity of food you'll be happy with this takeout dinner choice!!
google avatar

Melanie N.

Yelp
The. Best. Indian food -- we love the chicken tikka masala and mattar paneer. The owner is so generous and everyone is very welcoming.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Fantastic food and when your able to dine in you get such great service. And anytime I've had a large order they have one of their guys carry it out to my car. The owner is amazing. We love eating here.

Yelp
My sister & I decided to get Indian food for our family birthday dinner. Most of the family has never had Indian food, so we thought getting a variety of dishes and putting it out buffet-style would be a great introduction. We ordered Chicken Tandoori, Prawn Chili Roast and Beef Tikka Masala as the main dishes. We had rice and naan to go with it. Everyone LOVED IT!! The beef has a bit of a spicy kick to it.. but it was our mom's favorite - she DOES NOT DO ANTHING REMOTELY SPICY - but she went back for seconds!! The tandoori was very flavorful and the prawns were fabulous!!! Mr. Curry's went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure the dinner would be the best introduction for our family and they made fans out of everyone!!!

David I.

Yelp
Being new to town we wanted to try out this restaurant. Taking sympathy on us they let us order inside and gave us a complimentary appetizer while we waited. The young lady that waited on us was very polite and friendly and seemed well versed on the menu. We found the food tasty and well portioned meals. Pricing seemed very competitive as well.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a little out of the way, but so worth going. Food is always delicious! We're always happy with the service, even though it can be a little slow because it's usually just one or two servers, but they are always super friendly and do a great job!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my gosh! Best Indian I have had in forever! This is a small quaint restaurant ran by a family. It isn't fancy but it is authentic! Amazing dishes! Their to go or carry out option is on point. They double wrap everything and it remains hot til you get home. We travel 30 min each way to get this Indian food every Friday. We have pretty much quit going out for food during this recession but this place is our exception. For 20 bucks we feed both ourselves and have leftovers for lunch. Great place highly recommend
google avatar

Jarrod S.

Yelp
Food is fantastic and owner is really nice. I am probably going to have a different opinion, but I really do not mind the carry out model they have gone to. They are always very consistent and overall really good food. I recommend the chili chicken and of course the chicken tikka masala. I am glad we can get this quality of indian food without going to St Louis!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting the restaurant, so because of the pandemic, we didn't get a chance to sit down and enjoy the service the restaurant has to offer. We ordered the chicken pakora, and the butter chicken and we were definitely pleased with both choices. The chicken pakora was tender and the chick pea batter was not overwhelming and seasoned perfectly. We weren't really sure if we were going to enjoy the appetizer, yet I'm happy we did because it complimented the butter chicken dish well yet still made its own statement. The butter chicken was worth the wait; chicken wasn't dry nor gummy, and the smooth butter sauce brought the chicken, rice and cream together wonderfully. We had been wanting to try a more common Indian cuisine to get our feet wet, and I will say that we made a great choice with not only the meal, but also the restaurant as well. We will definitely be coming back to explore more dishes. Keep up the good work, Mr. Curry!
google avatar

Yelp
They were very accommodating when I made a last minute call for their Sunday lunch buffet! All the items on the buffet line are marked vegetarian or vegan, very helpful since finding vegan options in the metro East is pretty challenging. Loved everything we tried! Will have to find a reason to book a weekday dinner sometime soon!

Maddie F.

Yelp
So delicious and for the amount of food for the price can't beat it! Butter chicken was amazing and as a plus the girl who gave me my order was very kind:) I'll definitely be coming back
google avatar

Yelp
I am embarrassed for a few different reasons. First that I've only recently tried Indian food for the first time. Ever in my 35 years. Second because I've driven by Mr. Curry's every single day for the past 8 years. I wish I could go back in time. After experiencing Indian while out of town, I came home determined to try both our options here in Edwardsville. I tried the competitor on a day Mr. Curry's was closed and Mr. Curry's tonight. Blew the other out of the water. Everything was piping hot, the rice was so flavorful, and there was even a rice pudding thing and quesadilla-looking item (clearly still learning) thrown in as an extra I didn't even order. And it was about $5 cheaper than the other place in town for way more food. I'll be back to try every menu item. What a gem we have!

Katheryn C.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I got the butter chicken. I got to-go but the person who helped me was very nice. I will definitely come back!
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
I've been dying for some good Indian food since moving from Los Angeles. Mr Curry's is it!
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
I'll start with what I ordered, I ordered the chicken vindaloo which was outstanding I ordered the non-vegetarian samosa which again was very delicious. Would definitely come back for the food. My server was a young guy very polite very helpful not many people in the place so me and the other customer got a lot of attention which is great. What wasn't so great was when you walk into the place it had a bit of a funk smell. The other thing that wasn't so great that's when walking to the restroom the exterior doors both of the men and women's restroom are very dirty. Wouldn't have taken much to clean them up. Probably would have given 5 stars for the food alone but I had to deduct at least one star for the cleanliness. I really hope the owners read these reviews and clean it up just a bit and I'll be glad to update my review.
google avatar

Lance L.

Yelp
Weirdest place ever, but the food was very good. It's like walking into someones home and they weren't expecting us.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE Mr. Curry's. LOVE. The food is always spot on. The service sometimes left a little to be desired, but the food always makes up for it. Everyone is always super friendly. You get Dahl soup, papadon, and Mr. Curry's express before you get the meal you ordered and it is all so tasty. The buffet on the weekend is equally great.

Yelp
This is a tough review to write. Why? Because they purposely try to keep prices low (and they do!); it is part of their mission statement. And the food is very good for the money. I just wish they could do a little painting to "spruce" up the place- especially the hallway and restrooms. A bit cleaner and I'd have given them 4 stars. I'll admit, I know almost nothing about Indian food. I've eaten at the other Indian restaurant (Taj) in Edwardsville and this one has better food and prices. We went here on a Sunday for the brunch. I noticed two things while in the parking lot: 1. You have to have a reservation and that 2. Sunday brunch is $5.95. What? That is very cheap and I thought it a mistake but turns out the price was for real! (All you can eat.) Luckily, when they asked us if we had a reservation (no) they still found a table. Note to self: If I go back, call for a reservation first. The food was good, a few dishes were too spicy for my wife, but I liked almost everything,. The nann (flat bread) was great; both baked (or was it grilled?) and fried. The yellow rice dish was nice as was the chickpea concotion. It reminded me of spaghetti-Os in flavor excepty you had chickpeas (aka garbonzo beans) in place of the pasta. The rice pudding was very sweet - needed a little more rice and less milk. All in all, nice food and an incredible price. They only charged $1 for the soda! So 2 of us ate for around $13 before tax and tip. Wow - now that's a deal!

Yelp
So the outside of the restaurant is very quaint, like a renovated house. The inside is also the same. The food is anything but quaint. My fiancé and I were both very impressed. We started with the pawns as an appetizer, very good. He tried the beef roast (odd for an Indian restaurant) at a level 4 and I had the coconut chicken at a level 3. I am not usually a spicy foods girl, but this was comfortable for me spice wise with a kick. The level four included jalapeño which definitely make you sweat. The service was fine opposite from what earlier reviews had. The waitresses kept our water glasses full, and checked in on us.

Yelp
I've only had Indian food a few times, but I've always liked what I've tried. I was excited to go to Mr Curry's, and would like to try again in hopes of giving them a better rating, but the service I encountered is standing in my way. I ordered a couple of appetizers while I was there. Their description on the menu was thorough enough that I understood, unlike many of the other dishes. Those two appetizers, and a side of nan, were all very delicious. This leads me to believe that they do, in fact, have great food. When I asked the waitress about a few of the menu items, her only response was "I don't know, I'm a vegetarian." Super. Even if you haven't tried the menu items, shouldn't you know a little bit about them? I suppose that if you are not a novice, like me, then you will have a perfectly pleasant experience. I, however, was turned off by her attitude and am hesitant to try Mr Curry's a second time.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Outstanding, have never eaten inside but the take-out is top shelf. Have never been disappointed, We tried the new Indian on Main street, save yourself the time and skip it. Mr. Curry is the best and very reasonable
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Had the buffet on a Sunday. Courteous service, and a surprisingly good value. I especially enjoyed the tandoori chicken, and onion-ring-like appetizer (don't remember its name). The veggie dishes were flavorful, though some of the veggies are overcooked and mushy.
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
Excellent food and service!!! A little taken aback initially by its humble appearance but pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, service, and price. We were brought a small cup of soup - Called Dal I believe- and asked if we would like a vegetarian or chicken complimentary appetizer before we even looked at menu. Both were absolutely delicious. Even the Three condiment sauces that accompanied it were fresh and bursting with flavor. I had the beef curry Masala and my husband had the chicken coconut curry dish - very Good. We also received a complimentary light dessert ending of rice pudding or mango smoothie. The bill was around $30 for the two of us which is a lot less than what we usually pay for a dinner out at restaurant. Especially for all the food we got. No alcohol drinks on menu but We saw customers bring in bottles of their own wine. We will be back!
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
You won't be disappointed in this place. The food is amazing, the staff is so nice, and the place is homey. Come enjoy some amazing curry! This is one for my favorite spots in Edwardsville.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
You know that kind of random house on 143? Yeah, get in there. My first exposure here was for a family member's birthday party (private room!), and it was fantastic. We got to try almost everything (the Express, which is basically an Indian burrito, is still my favorite), and it was all amazing. I've been back many times for eating in and taking out since. Portions are phenomenal, you will have leftovers and that is a good thing. I'm not crazy about the ambiance, I'm not crazy about the reservation-only thing, but I understand both and don't mind a bit.
google avatar

K S.

Yelp
The redeeming thing about the place is the food. It was great! Great serving size and more than enough to take home if you like. The bad side was the place needs to be cleaned up. The place looks overgrown and run down. The inside is a hodgepodge of furniture and cabinets in an old house. Service was slow but the staff tried very hard. We would come back but our thoughts are that you have to think like you are eating in India so roll with it.
google avatar

Josh Y.

Yelp
Everyone drives everywhere in Edwardsville, so I guess it doesn't matter that it's a bit out of town--still strange though. The food is good. Prices are good. Just don't order above a level 4 spiciness if you want to be able to eat your food.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I always go to Mr. Curry's! My favorite menu item is the Chicken Tikka Masala. The food is reasonably priced (around $10 per person) and there is the perfect amount to fill up with and then take some home for later. I have always found the staff to be super friendly and helpful when I am not sure of something on the menu. The owner often comes by the table and makes sure everything is good, which I love because it shows that he actually cares. They are never super busy, which is fantanstic because it means there is never a wait. The food arrives quickly as well. As far as the 1-5 spice level goes, 3 is the average. I usually get a three and I would consider myself to be average on the ability-to-handle-hotness scale, and for me the 3 is perfect. I highly recommend Mr. Currys to anyone looking for something new or just looking for a delicious meal that won't cost a fortune.

Jose S.

Yelp
Go ahead and try ordering delivery, even though they claim to offer it. Nothing they list on the menu is actually available. Never had the food, the experience was too bad otherwise.

JB B.

Yelp
I've been comparing Indian restaurants in the area and the Taj on the other side of town is better. I had been avoiding this place mostly because the building was weird. I finally gave it a try recently. It was not good! The chicken tikka masala sauce tasted like chef boyardee with chicken. Yuck. The texture and flavor was way off. The samosas were ok...a bit mushier inside than they should be. The aloo gobi had too much sauce and the flavor was also off. I wanted to like this place because it's closer to my house. It's also cheap! I will say the kheer was ok but usually kheer has pistachios. Anyway, I consider myself to be a half way decent critic when it comes to Indian food. I just moved here from San Francisco. SF has tons of great Indian restaurants.

Kay B.

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about this place and was really excited to go a couple weekends ago for their lunch buffet. The food was delicious! It's not a huge buffet, but there are enough dishes and appetizers to satisfy your appetite. Of course, I went straight for the naan and the chicken tikka masala. I also enjoyed the tandoori chicken and the curry chicken. I ended up going back to fill my plate 3 times it was so good! You also can't beat the price. For $6.99 you get as much delicious food as you want. People really need to try this place.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
I really, really like Mr. Curry's food. But. They are usually very understaffed which means your meal could potentially take awhile. They've tried to combat this by asking people to make reservations no matter what if they are going to have four or more people in their party - in order to make sure they have enough people working. So call ahead! The food is worth it! Every meal comes with a little dish of lentil soup and a basket of delicious, warm naan. I'm partial to the coconut chicken curry and the tikka masala. I always have enough food to take home a box for a second meal, which I love.
google avatar

Tracy E.

Yelp
Mr Curry's is a bit out of the way but worth it. I haven't had the lunch buffet by I've only heard good comments. Dinner is excellent. The prices are good and all the dishes are excellent. If the owner is there he will come to your table for a chat. He is open to any questions about India and food!
google avatar

Aaron M.

Yelp
Ok, it's a little strange to walk into a house to eat Indian food. However once we got over that it was on. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. I had lamb biryani which was off the charts and my wife and daughter split a tandoori chicken which was perfectly cooked and well-presented. We got a couple of appetizers, plus some extras they brought out and our entrees for $38 and I'll be eating Indian for the next two days. Cant wait to go back.
google avatar

Steven P.

Yelp
Very very affordable. Our bill was $54 for 4 entrees and 2 appetizers. Food was delicious. The Tikki Marsala was outstanding. Brought us lots of naan which was made to perfection. Maintenance upkeep has been disregarded for a while both inside and out. Not a place for a romantic date. Strongly recommend this business for take out only. Will come back.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
This is a nice place to go if you want some tasty Indian food. Beware - you need a reservation! I went without one and they did work me in but don't be surprised if you can't get a seat as it is a small place. I went on Sunday afternoon so it was the open buffet. It was busy so the buffet was turning nicely. They have the typical dishes you would see - tikka masala, tandoori chicken, lamb vindaloo but they also have a variety of vegetarian dishes. The chili mushroom dish was by far my favorite. The tikka masala was a disappointment as there was standing oil and the flavor was off. However don't let that flaw dissuade you. At $8.50 for a fresh and tasty Indian buffet in Edwardsville, it is no surprise you need a reservation.

Meg F.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the friendly waitress more than made up for the lack of decor. This place should be packed, but instead we had it to ourselves. They offer vegan, vegetarian and omnivore multi course meals that will leave everyone satisfied and with leftovers for the next day. Highly recommend giving it a try!
google avatar

Eliz O.

Yelp
My husband and I love Mr. Curry's! Granted it's the only Indian restaurant in the Edwardsville area, it's good. They have a weekend brunch that's just okay, but it's quite cheap, so it may be worth it to try it. For some reason this place is never busy, despite it being good. Every time we go there for dinner we feel like they are just waiting on us to finish so that they can close. The menu items are good, I had to try a few till I found my favorite. They have a spice level from 1 to 5, so depending on your spice toleration you can tell them a number. However, I cannot tolerate too much spice so I always say 1, which in my opinion is like a 4. It's still too spicy... but if you ask them for less spicy, they'll make you a new one! The staff's friendly and the owner occasionally comes out to chat with the customers.

Ben J.

Yelp
Do not be turned away by the unique setting. The first time we went here we weren't sure if they were even open. They were and we have been hooked since. True, the service here is not the fastest but if you relax, have a Kingfisher or a house specialty mango smoothie drink, enjoy the light homeade crackers and choice of sauces, you will be rewarded with a great entree. Like others have said, if you aren't sure if you like Indian food the weekend buffet is for you. Try a little of many different items and find your favorite. If you like spicy food, be sure to let them know. They have a rating scale on all of their dishes. Whatever you order you can order from a 1 (mild) to a 5+ (you're gonna sweat). Ask questions, specify what you like, and the service here will definitely be to your liking. Enjoy!

DIANE H.

Yelp
I have been to all of the Indian restaurants in the area, but this is my absolute favorite food of them all. Truly fantastic Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala with freshly grilled Naan. Just amazing! And the nicest staff. Yes, service is a little slow. Yes, the ambience is a little humble. But the glorious food is what keeps us coming back!

Rebecca R.

Yelp
Hands down, Mr. Curry's the best Indian restaurant I have been too. I've tried others in the St. Louis area and it's still my favorite. I usually place an order for carry out and they always send samples of other dishes to try. Also, the portion sizes are so big, I always have leftovers for the next day. The service is great and the staff is always friendly!
google avatar

Erik E.

Yelp
I love Indian food and this is the only option. Service is mediocre and I found a fruit fly in my food. I won't be coming back.

Heather -.

Yelp
Cheap (you get so much food!) and tasty! What else do you want? I ordered the Chana Masala and there was so much food that I had enough for two meals.

Ray T.

Yelp
Worst Indian Food I've ever eaten. The Naan is too thick and doughy. The Daal soup need a ton of water to make it actually soup. The chicken curry is too sweet. The basmati rice is too bland, no flavor and it was mushy. Haveli in St. Louis is the best I've eaten. This place does not compare. I've been here twice now and don't think I will go back a third time.

Rowan C.

Yelp
Have enjoyed Mr. Curry's since their first opening. Having personally visited Southern India I can attest to the authentic cuisine offered in this establishment. I especially enjoyed the Beef Vindaloo. Rowan Cadaret Wood River, IL

Joe P.

Yelp
Awesome Indian food! As you may have noticed, the restaurant is located in a repurposed house, which makes for an eccentric dining area, but this keeps noise down. Food truck prices for a sit-down quality meal. While we were waiting for our order, we were brought a secret off-menu appetizer on the house for no reason in particular, just to be nice! We'll be back... Many times!

Andy S.

Yelp
BEST Indian I've ever had! We have ate at 4 other St Louis Indian restaurants for years and this it like having a chef come to your home and impress you. Everything was perfect. $25 for dinner for 2. Can't wait to go back. My wife said it was the best dinner she has ever had. She had coconut chicken. I had lamb biriyani. Both came with a delicious soup. not sure what, but it had some tomatoes and maybe some root veg. Very good. The pappadum had the best cilantro chutney I've ever had. I was actually able to eat it and not burn my mouth for 2 days like others I've had. Some complimentary "chips" came out. perfect temp and flavor. I think they were deep fried naan. Wife's chicken seemed like every thing was super fresh and all home made. My lamb was the highlight. SO full of flavor. Cashews, raisins, tons of spices in the rice. I'm a wimp, so I got 1 of 5 heat. perfect. Get the tiki sauce on the side with this. Maybe going back for the lunch today.
