We frequent here about once a week. Love the sausage sandwich, burgers and grilled tenderloins. The cheese curds and veggie basket is our go to sides. Usually we get carry out because the dining room needs updated. The chairs are very wobbly and the booths are very small. Also, need to focus on someone to sanitize and wash tables between guests. Other than that, staff is friendly and service is fast.

Looking for some nostalgia? Then take yourself, or grab the family, and or friends and enjoy one of the best Restaurants In Indiana. Mr. Dave's has been around a long time and are still doing it right. Anything on the menu is AMAZING. If you haven't yet, you're missing out. No better time than summertime.

The food is absolutely amazing! Prices are good and the staff are always wonderful. But because if they are busy and youre in the drive through, you'll probably be missing a meal, but they're understanding and correct it

First time ever stopping in. Definitely was not disappointed. Decided to try one of their tenderloins that they're supposed to be famous for. It was humongous and delicious. Had those old school crinkle cut fries. Has indoor and outdoor seating and to go. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a stop.

Google
Tenderloin was huge and absolutely delicious. Chicken strips were also very good. Fries were Ok. They are crinkle cut and weren't very crispy so not my favorite. Ice cream was delicious. The hot fudge sundae and Strawberry sundae were both very good. The hot fudge is very good. It only has 7 booths, 1 table that seats 6 and 1 table that seats 4. So not alot of seating and the chairs at the tables are a little rickety but they are cute :). Overall a great place to stop and eat. We will definitely stop again when in this area.

Google
Mr Dave's, what a wonderful local place. I found this while driving a wrestling team to Manchester University. I had the fish and chips, only the second time my fish stayed crispy. First were hit and crispy outside tender inside. The staff were very sweet and handled the lunch rush I walked into like champs. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town!!

Haven't had anything that was bad. They are always accommodating with any special order we have added. Food is good we go about once a week. Nice cozy atmosphere.

Google
Food used to be amazing, but prices have continued to rise while quality decreases. Our order tonight featured an undercooked burger, soggy BLT bread, and a chemically tasting blackberry shake--which used to be my favorite item!

Yelp
Excellent value for people on a budget and with large appetite. Portions are generous. Get the combo and save money. The have a nice selection. The pork tenderloin is HUGE and delicious

Yelp
The food was freshly prepared and tasted great! We shared a pork tenderloin sandwich for lunch.

Yelp
Wow is all I can say! We had a 30 person reservation messed up at another restaurant so we called Mr Dave's and the lady's cranked out 30 orders in a matter of minutes and they made a silk purse out of a sow's ear!!! I'm definitely going back for seconds!

Yelp
Fish n fries, double cheeseburger w onion rings, and ragin cajan cheeseburger. Everything was fantastic, except the tarter sauce - too much mayo.

Yelp
Amazing service, great prices and the local dinner feel gave it the best place to grab some lunch! Had the opportunity to meet the founder and hear the story behind Mr. Dave's! The breaded tenderloin was well worth the drive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This restaurant is always great. The staff is so friendly and efficient. The food is hot and fresh every time. The restaurant is always clean.

Yelp
I've been here twice now. Both times I was blown away. Let's start with the cost. It's practically the cheapest price for quality food and service you'll find! Speaking of service...seriously the absolute nicest people you'll ever come across. The second time here my son accidentally dropped the shakes on the ground and they made a HUGE mess on the floor. The staff came out, cleaned it up, made new shakes and apologized to us!! Seriously? I was prepared to have to pay again and it would have been completely justified. It's small inside but there is also outside seating. I would recommend this place to any person. Worth a drive if you want a nice family dining experience. I love this place!

Yelp
Outstanding food and staff. Everyone seems happy when you enter, which says a lot about the management. If you haven't tried the sausage sandwich, you must. The chicken strips are wonderful. Where can you get a burger so big? North Manchester is so very lucky to have this food establishment.

Yelp
Fortunately for Mr. Dave's, it's being managed by Mrs. Lewis who does a superb job in food preparation, personnel management, and customer service. She is a gem! The restaurant continues to be a N Manchester landmark.

Yelp
It looks like no one has reviewed Mr. Dave's in a while. We like the chili and the fish sandwich is good. I'm really into their chocolate milkshakes at the moment. It's unique because it is not a chain restaurant. The new owners are doing a good job at keeping the food almost like the founding Mr. Dave. There is a new manager and she is doing an excellent job.

Yelp
I was so excited about stopping in - my husband and I have been wanting to for years. As soon as we walked in we smiled. It seemed perfect. We ordered the tenderloin expecting to be blown away and walked away very disappointed. I wish we would have tried the burgers. It seemed like it was a frozen patty slapped on a bun with hardly any seasoning.

Yelp
This my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered the dinner special. A breaded tenderloin, cheese fries and a Sprite. The food was freshly prepared, and served deliciously hot. The price was very reasonable.

Yelp
I go there just for the hamburgers and onion rings when I am in town visiting!!! Fresh made, juicy, delicious!!! Best burgers I've found in all my travels.

Yelp
It's all about the tenderloin. It's well-cooked but not much seasoning. Decent bun. Solid overall. Good onion rings, too. I'd say they are the star here. The tenderloin is a bit small--not a bad thing in an,d of itself, but a bit of a departure from tradition. This was nice and juicy, but the breading didn't have the crunch or flavor I was hoping for. I dig the 70's wood panel vibe inside. I'll definitely give it another shot--it is, after all, a classic Hoosier tenderloin joint. Even though I think the tenderloin is three stars, I'm giving this place four b/c it's a nice family-run place. If I come back and the tenderloin is what I expected, I'll give it five stars.

Yelp
A local restaurant for us! Mr Dave's has been a part of our community since before my time and recently changed owners. Same good food. Personally love their cheeseburgers and cheese sticks. They are known for the tenderloins which are good not necessarily the best around. Service is not quick but everything is made to order. Seasonal potato salad is awesome! Give Mr Dave's a try!

Yelp
Tried the grilled tenderloin and it was underwhelming. Meat was rather thin and tiny (think McDonald's hamburger size) for the price. Lettuce and mayo were extra. Fries were nothing special. Paid $8 for the lunch combo. Not sure how they got famous for this.

Yelp
This is a one of kind place and you feel it as soon as you walk in the door. We ordered bacon cheese burgers and fries. The bacon was laid flat across the burger and bun so it was the first thing you ant to bite into. Cooked to perfection It was just a tease to get to the burger. Now there are all kinds of burgers but this kind was obviously in a fast food category. There was a drive up window and it has the feel of a small town In and Out vibe. Not in decor since besides the old times newspaper add patterned counter it wasn't much to look at on the inside and in comparison to a flashy tiled red and white back scape with little paper hats atop of the heads of chipper employees named Freddie this is more like a 'we been here a long time and we plan on sticking around a long time' kinda joint that is a staple on the main strip of a quaint and charming little town in North Manchester. The burger was greasy and cheesy with fresh onions and pickles crispy bacon that you may chose to eat first or fold over into the bun. The bun seemed to be a bit out of the bag. The fresh but dryish bread could've used some toast to it and a rumor of butter but sometimes if you let it sit a bit the juices just do the work. Fries were good but a little soggy and not as hot as I'd like them but the onion rings were fried perfectly. I also love that the tables move because I am a giant and I can't fit in the booths.

Yelp
The food is better than a lot of places in town even with the new owners which I was a little afraid of after they closed and reopened but it's still a great place to go. The prices haven't changed, they're a little high but, I'd pay the extra for the better food quality and We love to mess with Cameron.

Yelp
I had high expectations on Mr. Dave's since rediscovering a copy of an old magazine article ["Love me Tenderloin" - Gourmet Mag. Jan 2003] highlighting the nation's best breaded tenderloin sandwiches. The famous Gnaw Bone Tenderloin was wonderful at the original location - and on re-reading this article, I was fast 'n loud for N Manchester. Sadly, very sadly - the sandwich I've experienced over the weekend at Mr. Dave's failed to live up to the past days of glory hype. It was a production style - seemingly prepared and frozen some time ago. Closer to a Pete's Pride Pork Fritter than one of Indiana's best and most lauded. The posted newspaper and magazine articles inside trumpeting those heady days had a publish date earlier than a decade ago. It was O...K. Sweetie had same sandwich and we shared sides of onion rings, broasted potato wedges and cole slaw. Rings were fine, potatoes were fine - cole slaw was OK. I don't mind greasy spoons and dives - to me the place seems tired - or perhaps 'retired' is more appropriate. Am I going back? maybe some day. I drive past 20-30 times/year. Am I going to make a special trip, drive an hour+ for that tenderloin? nope.

Yelp
old school throw back. mr. dave's is near my grandma's house in indiana, and i dream about that breaded pork tenderloin. as a kid we used to go there and get them, and the fried mushrooms, even after we'd had dinner at my grandma's house. i always make sure to stop there if i'm in the area now. regular, run of the mill bun, but a crispy, thin, juicy, porky perfect piece of fried meat in the center, that's 2x the size of the bun. i always get mine with just mayo, so good. i don't think in the entire 25+ years i can remember eating breaded tenderloins from here that i ever had a bad one. i wish i didn't live so far away now!

Yelp
The other reviewer is crazy. I have been going here for years and enjoy the small town feel. Food is probably 4 stars but i feel i need to balance out the 2 stars from Bob H. For a small town it doesnt get any better than this.

Yelp
We tried the pork fritter, the turkey club, the fried mushrooms, onion rings, cheesy tater wedges, chili, and potato soup. Found it to be a very nice lunch option. Quality of food was very acceptable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Also got a quart of fresh honey to take home. Nice place when you are in North Manchester and need lunch.

Yelp
This place is one of the things I miss most about Indiana! The burgers and tenderloins are wonderful and the broasted potatoes are worth the wait for them to be prepared, but what always keeps me coming back is the veggie basket. It has the old downtown, small town diner feel to it and the staff is always friendly and fast. One of the best places in town for a lunch with a friend.

Sawyer S.

Yelp
Not many vegetarian options but their ice cream and fried mushrooms are fantastic. The inside is kind of cramped but they have a drive through.
