This is another restaurant in our neighborhood that we frequent, its German cuisine and beer. Living in Germany for 8 years and having a German mom we are always looking for German places to eat. Dunderbak’s has a beer haus feel and decor, they have all kinds of things to see and buy there. You can buy beer, souvenirs, cookies, food products and this time of the year Christmas cookies and candy. Our daughter was visiting so we took her for dinner. We started with a big pretzel and my wife had a small Oktoberfest beer. For our meals we had a jaeger schnitzel and a sour cream schnitzel both with spatzle, one with pomme fritz and the other with German potato salad. The staff was nice and professional and it felt like we were in Germany. Since their portions are huge we shared two entrees and didn’t finish them. If you like German food and beer we recommend Dunderbaks!

This place is incredible! We started off with the cheese board well worth it, the chive sour cream spread to the ginger mango white stilton amazing five different cheeses. We follow the lineup with Spätzle and a Leberkäse sandwich with an add on of Nuremberg sausage. The mustards oh my god the jalapeño, cranberry and the house mustard a must try. All washed down with a few different styles of beers from the bar. Everything came out in great timing and was such enjoyable.

Food is always good and the atmosphere is amazing. Feels like you're really in Germany. They have a deli case and offer a variety of chocolates and gummies plus various groceries like seasonings and pudding mixes. You can buy bottles of wine and beer too. They even had trvia night while we were eating. It was so much fun.

It’s not even a question—it’s a tradition. James, Melea, Kelly (rookie visit), and I had another absolutely incredible dinner, and this place just hits every time (missing Jon, Rebecca, Lila and Corn). The sour cream schnitzel? Unreal. Crispy, flavorful, comfort food at its finest. The pierogies are the kind that make you slow down and actually enjoy every bite. And the pretzel… I mean COME ON 🤤 — it’s AMAZING. Warm, soft, perfectly baked, and impossible not to fight over. And let’s talk about the beer 🍺 Because wow. A fantastic selection, brewed right, and the perfect complement to everything on the table. Great food. Great beer. Great memories. This is one of those places that never lets you down and always leaves you saying, “Yep… that was worth it.” If you haven’t been—go. The atmosphere was amazing with live music, super friendly service. Our server, Jose was super helpful with suggestions! The authentic German food… To die for, it was so amazing, definitely worth giving this place a try if you’ve never tried it. The beer was superb!! Also recommendations from the server, they sell 4 & 6 packs & growlers! My man and I were first timers and will definitely be back. I’m in absolute love 😍🤤

We absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is always welcoming and fun, and there’s usually a great crowd when we go in. The service is consistently excellent—friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home. The little German shop inside is such a great touch too, and we always find something good in there. Most importantly, the food is amazing every time… we never leave disappointed! Highly recommend if you’re craving great German food and a great vibe. 😋🇩🇪

Ambiance is like being transported to Germany! Our server was great and food always comes out right away and hot. Well, as you can tell this is one of our go to spots. The food is always excellent and you get a lot of it! Prices are reasonable, maybe more than, since you get so much food. We love, love, love Mr. Dunderbaks!!! Definitely give it a try! Trust me you won't be disappointed!

Went for an early dinner here so we made it to happy hour for the first time ever! Which is a discount off of all the draft beers what a great surprise. My husband ordered a light wheat beer, and I had a German rattler beer. We both ordered the schnitzel which was pounded out thin crisp, and delicious topped with brown mushroom gravy. I had hot German potato salad along with red cabbage. My husband had the spatzle along with red cabbage. Red cabbage is smooth well cooked and very tasty. Potato pancakes, absolutely on the table with chunky applesauce and fresh sour cream. After dining, we went over to the deli section ordered some fresh, corned, beef, pastrami, and braunschweiger with a half a loaf of fresh rye bread for later! Absolutely needed to have the chocolate cake with fresh whipped cream and cherries. I believe it's some sort of a Bavarian cake with a cherry Kirsch the little shopping on the Christmas table of course because they had my mom's favorite cookies a gingerbread covered with chocolate also found a few other cookies reminiscent of my childhood. My husband, of course, needs to have a bar of marzipan delicious food. Good service from our waiter Trevon very attentive knew what we were having. It was an enjoyable evening. Don't forget to stop by. They have outdoor seating if you'd like with big steins of beer always welcome. Don't forget to look around the beer room, which is off to the side filled with imported bottled beers as well as German beer steins.

We came for Valentine's Day and while it was crowded we got a seat right away. Friendly service, the lady who took us to our table had a dirndl on, and a man played music on the Accordion in the middle of the room. I saw all the German products and treats right away and we bought a bunch of things, Rotkohl, Goldsaft, chocolate, German Wafers, Kalter Hund, a classic. We got the Schweinshaxe, Schnitzel and Leberkaese with sides: Rotkohl, potatoes, vegetable soup, dumplings, salad. My husband had a beer. The food was good, definitely got my cravings for a German food filled. I would have given 5 Stars but given that I grew up on German food there are a few things that could be a little more "authentic" or maybe the way it was made in our home, local restaurants around us or even when traveling through Germany have a different taste/flavor. I know it's sometimes hard to get food from your home country in a different country, as types of ingredients available can vary. But all together it a good and we will definitely be back.

Dunderbak's has been a local staple for years and there are reasons for that: - Beer. But not just beer-- beer in giant glass steins. - Some of the best German/Austrian dinner offerings. You can get seven variations of schnitzel here, and that's not even a quarter of their menu. There's so much to choose from. - The vibes here are nostalgic and welcoming. Yes, the interior is cheesy to some. But I happen to love cheese, so pile it on. To me, the German decor and density in the room makes this feel like a place where you can always find a friend or have quality time with the ones you've got. - And so you don't leave empty handed, they have all sorts of imported candies, cookies, and culinary accoutrements available for purchase. Something I'd like to note here, because I see it as a common complaint: This place gets very busy-- even parking, so keep that in mind. And when it gets busy you may have to wait for your server. I suggest that this is the sort of place you'll want to come to when you have plenty of time to sit and enjoy your meal & beverages. Also, if you are not a social person, this place will not be for you. The open seating and long tables are inherently designed to encourage interaction. It's abuzz with joviality, music, and casual banter. I personally love the atmosphere but I know this is not the case for everyone. That being said, please come and have a great time, be patient with your servers, and enjoy the live music. It's like Oktoberfest every day!

Warning: I haven't tried real German food nor know what they are called in German. Nice ethnic place to have dinner. I came here because of the mouth watering pictures from other Yelp reviews. I didn't read all the captions which I think I will next time cause I really wanted to try the pork shank(?) but that is only served on Friday and Saturday. My husband was deployed to Germany at one point of his life and it brought back good memories when he ate the food. We ordered the soft pretzel with beer cheese and the potato pancakes with sour cream and apple sauce(?) for appetizers. My husband got the pork schnitzel with some sort or gravy and my daughter got the kids hot dog. Sides were fries and pickle spears. Ratings: Pretzel with cheese 10/10. The pretzel was soft and perfect and the cheese dip was amazing. I literally ate everything dipped in that cheese cause the serving is a lot. I think it was super cheap too like $6 or so. Potato and onion pancakes. 7/10. It kind of tasted like a homemade hash brown that was deep fried extra crunchy. Nothing special to remember about it. It did come with 4 pieces and we ended up eating only 3 of them. My husband loved it with the apples. Schnitzel 7/10. It was like thin slice of cutlet. I was not a fan of the sauce he chose so that could have been a lot of it. It was tender and big though. I do feel that it was under salted or lack of additional seasonings but I'm pretty sure it's traditionally cooked like that. I just like my food seasoned well. Sides were huge. Pickles were amazing, not overly salted or vinegary . My whole family weren't fans of the home fries. Kids hot dog 10/10. It was really good. It was long, longer than the bun which my daughter thought was interesting since she only knew of the bun being longer than the dog. It had really good flavor and the casing was crisp. I enjoyed the bite I took a lot. For the drinks we had sweet tea and their draft root beer. Interesting what draft root beer really is, it is kegged(?) warm root beer poured over ice. I wasn't a fan since it wasn't carbonated enough or at all for me but the flavor was good. My husband loved it and drank all of it. Glad we decided to come in to try it. They have a cute mini shop inside too. Like a Cracker Barrel feel but the merch is intertwined in the dining room area. Try it out for some authentic German food.

Mr. Dunderbak's has been a family favorite of mine since I was little and I love going back all throughout the years! Everything I've tried there (which is a lot since I've been going for so long lol) is delicious, made fresh and cooked to complete and utter perfection. The beer options are insane (in the best way possible) and the staff is always providing great service. My go to options are definitely the kartoffelpuffers (potato pancakes that are made fresh and literally heaven on a plate), the pierogis, and the andouille sausage or Bavarian bratwurst with curry sauce. The apple strudel is also great and I love checking out their little market while I'm there- I always walk out with delicious German treats. If you're looking for a unique spot to have a good meal at, I promise you you'll love Mr. dunderbak's!

Olivia answered the phone the 2nd time I had to call back, despite the same voice denied it was her. Olivia and previous host disrespected and disregarded my request for a lost item that has sentimental value and may have been left there Sunday evening. Olivia even hung up on me. Does she not care about the image she presents to Dunderbak and the company? Is my black beanie there or not?

Best German food around! They also have some great beer options which they are known for also. Der Karavan is my favorite sandwich: Breast of turkey, roast beef, topped with imported Havarti, served with crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes and touch of mayo. The place is decorated with a plethora of German charm and they have a multitude of German food and drink items for sale. It's often pretty busy on the weekends. Great place to go, they have German music playing and sometimes have live music as well.

Good German food, good comfort food. Came at the recommendation of another person. Lots beer selection, tap and bottle. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff. Nice european market for food items and gifts. I ordered the schnitzel with cream sauce, pomme frites, and potato/ cheese pierogies. Everything was delicious. Monday night they were starting trivia night. Lots of fun, good food. Highly recommend.

Went for dinner tonight before the Lightning game. Awesome authentic german food in a great atmosphere. It may be in a strip mall but once inside you're transported to a german gasthaus. Great food and huge Octoberfest beers. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a good german feed.

After spending a whole day at Adventure Island, we were pretty hungry and feeling like having some hearty food. Mr. Dunderbak's came up as an option so we decided to check it out. Here are my ratings: Quality of drinks and food: good. I tried the Zigeuner Schnitzel that came with peppers, onions, and a sweet red paprika sauce. My sides were German potatoes and red cabbage. I frankly thought that the sauce was a little too overpowering and hid the taste of schnitzel a little bit. However, adding sautéed onions and peppers was an excellent idea. The sides were some of the best that I have ever tasted. The Dunkel was also delicious but I wish they also offered boots. Décor: pretty neat. The place feels partly a store and partly a restaurant. There are some fake looking Bavarian decorations glued to the wall but overall it made the place feel very cozy. They just need to have some live German polka music players as the music being played on the speakers gets repetitive after a while. Cleanliness: good. The tables were being constantly cleaned. Service: okay. Our server kept checking on us a little too frequently and it turned out that we were the last customers of his shift (as pointed out by him). He was obviously looking to be done with the day and go home which is understandable but I think that it unnecessarily put pressure on us to finish ordering and pay our check. A German restaurant experience is supposed to be nice and relaxing instead of hurried up. I think it would be better if the restaurant does what many others do which is to pass the waitstaff duty to someone on the next shift if it's getting too close to the original server's shift end time. Price: medium. The schnitzel was around $19 and the large beers were around $14. If you're in the mood for some good German food with matching beers then checkout Mr. Dunderbak's.

Good selection of German and Belgian beers and amazing food menu. Their sandwiches are to die for as well as their sausages, potato pancakes, beer-cheese soup, cheese spaetzle etc. etc. Haven't had anything bad here in the several years I've been visiting. A nice deli as well as assorted market items to take with on your way out.

After two tours in Germany I can say that Mr. Dunderbak's was right on the mark. Not only was the food good, but the choice of dry goods on the back walls reminded me of shopping on the economy. The service was quick and even got to brush off my rusty German to place my order. Great small family atmosphere just like in a local village or town. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes. Sehr gut!

We spent two nights in Tampa for a concert and a mini getaway. We opted for German food, especially after traveling to Germany and Poland earlier in the year. We were not disappointed and throughly enjoyed the meal, the service, the accordion player, the atmosphere, and the marketplace. My husband was excited to find his favorite German mustard ($6 compared to $15 on Amazon). Highly recommend and you will not be disappointed.

I've been eating dunderbacks for over 20 years. Great food, good beers and fast service. My favorite lunch is the leberkase sandwich paired with a hacker pshorr. Traditional German feel in the restaurant and occasionally have an accordion player. 10/10 would recommend.

Great food and service. The schnitzel is the best around. The pomme frites are absolutely amazing. Red cabbage is not overly sweet like other cheeses laced.

This place is fun. It puts you in a good mood with its kitschy interior and beer-lined walls. We had a table of 8 and were seated in the "stockroom". The waiter was slow on the water but everything else was timely. The food varied from bland to tasty. While German food is generally not spicy, mine was a little dry. Schnitzel was spot on. We all had fun!

Excellent German with a few minor flaws. As you walk in, the restaurant looks quite a bit like a German bier hall. The larger communal tables are right in the middle, twobars, and seating in the bar and another room. The German music adds to the ambiance. We were seated quickly and had biers in hand within a minute. The bier is traditional German. Mr. Dunderbak's has some of their own brews to try, which were decent (try Barriehaus for even better lagers). I had the Rahm Schnitzel with spaetzle (jaeger gravy) and sauerkraut. The veil was quite good. The main downside was the sauce had broken and had a bit of a strange texture (see picture). I also think the veal is deep fried instead of pan fried, based on the flavor, but the sauce was able to cover up that taste. The spaetzle was nice and adding the jaeger gravy just added to the experience. Sauerkraut fairly typical of German restaurants. The Black Forest Cake was nice, although I did have a better one at Hildegard's in Huntsville, AL (which scored lower on the schnitzel). As it was father's day, they also gave each of a beer to take with us. A nice capper to a great evening.

The food here is amazing, and honestly even the staff is great. I used to frequent this place back in my drinking days and always said I wanted to try them out for lunch or dinner. Well after 12 years sober I finally made my way in and I am very happy to say everything the table ordered was delicious.

I've been here several times and have always enjoyed my visit. I've never been to Germany, but the friends that I have say it's authentic. My favorites are the Jägersnitzel with the red cabbage and a sour beer. I've had a few of the sides like the potato salad and pretzel. I had the curry wurst for the first time. Very tasty! So much so that I shared some with my pants. Service is top-notch, and the staff is helpful if you don't know your way around German cuisine. They seem to lack a lot of the noodle dishes. But you'll find some good choices. The place is decorated with lots of things that I think you'd find in a German restaurant. They're loaded up with all sort of candies and other snack items. They have a really good selection of beers. On Tuesday nights, they have trivia. I've won before and it's a certificate for food. They do have live music, but I've not heard it. The place can get packed, so plan accordingly.

We drive from about 45 minutes away to come here. My boyfriend is German and we have tried so many restaurants in FL, this is definitely one of the best. You could drink their mushroom gravy. The decor is amazing and it's like a little store inside. We love it!

Interesting place. I really like German food, so I'm always looking for a good German restaurant, and we sought this one out when visiting the area. First the food. My husband and I split the Wiener schnitzel, and we also ordered the cheese soup to start. Both were delicious and very filling. So much so that we decided to forgo dessert. As for the service, I felt it was lacking. Although the restaurant was only moderately busy, there were long lags between check-ins from our server, and it felt like an eternity waiting for him to bring us our check. Finally, I thought the ambiance was odd. Although it had a German flair, it was overrun with European market items for sale, but in no particular order and in random displays. Plus there was a strange dark area off to the side with even more random items for sale. Also the seating felt crowded and uncomfortable. Overall, it didn't give off a vibe of somewhere you'd enjoy visiting and hanging out. That's my takeaway. Too bad because the food is good. ‍

Went there for an early dinner around 5 pm. Was fairly busy but got seated right away. This place it great if you like beer and German food. Menu is large and they have great beer on tap. I had the Oktoberfest sausage platter where you get to pick two different kinds of sausage and 2 sides. Sausage was very good.

I have come here a few times and it never disappoints! This time I got the Saurerbraten which was delicious. The service was friendly and fast. Despite being very busy, the restaurant was not too loud!

Mr Dunderbak's feels like an ode to the past. It's everything you want in a german beer hall and the food is fantastic. It's easy to get decision paralysis with the beer menu!!!! So many beers so little time. This I do know, get a schnitzel and get a potato pancake and you'll leave happy. Prost!

This was a surprisingly great place in Tampa near USF. We both ordered the schnitzel. I had the one with sour cream and mushrooms abs my hubs had the one with brown gravy and mushrooms. He had the pirogies and spazele and I had the pierogies and spinach salad with hot bacon dressing. For dessert we tried the German chocolate cake which was so good and not overly sweet. If you like beer-this place had many options.

This German tavern has become a local favorite for us. The food, mostly German fare, is always delicious. Some of our faves include Weinerschnitzel/Jagerschnitzel, spatzel, warm German potato salad, red cabbage, cucumber salad, potato pancakes... And favorite desserts include black forest cake and apple strudel, among others. There is a fantastic selection of beers and wine. The periphery of the restaurant is stocked with different European foods such as chocolates, pastries, and jams, and at Christmas time the little shopping area becomes a petite European Christmas marketplace. Also entertaining on weekend nights is Akkordian Joe, who plays the accordion and sings polka favorites from a little gazebo in the middle of the restaurant. The only negative that I can think of is that it can get pretty crowded, with a bit of a wait, especially on weekend evenings. But Mr. Dunderbak is always worth the wait.

I went to Mr. Dunderbaks with a group of 9 co-workers for a late lunch on a Friday. They were great about seating us and we only needed to wait until half our party was there. We had two vegetarians in the group and they were pleasantly surprised with the offering - they both ordered the Spatzel and gave it rave reviews. Our boss ordered a several appetizers - pierogis, onion rings & fried green beans (two orders of each). The pierogis went fast but the orders of the other two were so big multiple people took some home. We weren't aware going in they had lunch specials so that was a nice surprise and most people took advantage of it ordering sandwiches and different types of sausage. The only down fall is the seating. It is all benches which are bolted to the floor and even though I'm 5'10" I felt I was too far away from the table. We will definitely be back though.

I've been to Dunderbak's several times over the years and I always eat/drink far more than I should. The food is delicious, even my spouse (who is a pickier eater) enjoys it. The beer selection is great. It is crowded, there is usually a wait, but it is definitely worth it. We went on a Friday and there was an accordion player! Idk how often that happens. This trip, I got the zigeuner schnitzel and our server recommended the spicy paprika sauce; glad I went with it. The sides are all fantastic and I have the worst time picking between them. My kid has recently graduated from kids menus and annihilated the sausage platter with spaetzle and applesauce but preferred the knackwurst to the Bavarian bratwurst. I tried both and thought they were both delicious, but think he may not have liked the softer texture of the Bavarian bratwurst. We got Black Forest cake to go bc we were too full from the meal.

Omg the food was amazing I got Der Ruben and it was amazing I dont know how I have never eaten here before but it was awesome fresh and affordable. 10/10 I reccomend it. We were so hungry we didn't even have time to take pics before we devoured it.

The best authentic German food you will find in Tampa Bay. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the service is excellent! The seating can be tight, but it's worth the wait--a great place to eat and shop for German snacks.

Decided to have dinner nearby my hotel and many restaurants were already booked during the evening. I called the restaurant to see how long the wait was and was surprised to be told there wasn't much on that Saturday night. Came in around 9pm and I was seated immediately at the bar. It was actually light and pretty quiet. A host came in soon to ask my drink order. I requested a sweet and fruity beer and he immediately told me about the raspberry beer they had which was 6 dollars for 10 ounces. It was very refreshing and raspberry flavor was quite delicious. While it was low on the alcohol content, it was still a great beer and something I would definitely drink again. For my entree, I ordered the venison sausage platter with cold potato salad and pickles. There were two good sized sausages, which wasn't as gamey as I thought. It was pretty plump and juicy as well, and adding some mustard gave it some good flavor. The potato salad was pretty good, especially with the bacon added. The pickles were a bit too sour for me, but there was a generous amount of them. There was also sourkraut in the bottom, but I didn't care for it. The atmosphere looked like a German bar with a small gift shop for German goodies as well. What really surprised me was that it wasn't crowded at all for a Saturday. There were only a couple customers and it was mostly quiet. Even the American music and German music in the background was too soft. If it wasn't for the other customer sitting next to me, I would have found it to be a library. While the food and beer was good, I thought it could be a bit more lively. I remember the restaurant having live music before, but this time I didn't hear the singer. Maybe it is only at certain times, and I was too late for it. I would go again when it gets crowded and the singer is there. It would be much for a fun and party atmosphere.

For good German food, look no further than Mr. Dunderbak's! Great selection of beers, fantastic snitzels and sandwiches! Potato pancakes are good too! Service is prompt. Good knowledge of the beers available. Cool setting and decor. Even some German music thrown in.

A group of us were joking we would be the first in the door at 11:30 AM on a Saturday. However there was several parties eagerly anticipating lunch. The food here is still delicious and the restaurant filled up as we ordered and received our food. We had great service and our group enjoyed a sandwich, schnitzel and sausage platters. I wish they offered a side item platter because there are so many alluring choices. Worth driving for and the beverage and market offerings make this a destination.

Haven't been to Dunderbak's in years and wanted to celebrate October fest on my son's birthday. The food was all great, beer was at room temp and we had pretty poor service on this visit. The waiter we had must of been tired. I don't think he even smiled once. I tried the pork shank since it's my favorite when visiting German breweries. This one wasn't the best. Tender but skin wasn't as crispy. Everything else was delicious. We picked up a ton of delicious chocolate and candies only found in Germany and we enjoyed seeing them. But with the terrible service we received. It's a big difference from the find times we had here years ago. Me and my German husband were disappointed by how it changed

Visited for my brother-in-law's birthday and it was so fun! The food was absolutely delicious - I love the Jagerschnitzel. The sausages were so darn delicious and the curry wurst was amazing and then service was spectacular. The number of beers are exciting and almost seems never ending.

As somebody from Central Europe I always enjoy trying an authentic German, Swiss or Austrian restaurant. This German place has not only great food, but also provides an amazing German environment, including good service. I had the Wiener Schnitzel and truly enjoyed my meal. There are also a lot of German goodies that can be purchased and taken home.

I've been eating here since it was located in the mall when I was at USF. I can't believe I've never left a review. The best German food I've had outside of, well- Germany. Great schnitzel, great Jagger sauce. The best pierogies! If you like German beer, then this is your place. So many choices. Fun Beer Garden experience. Lots of fun shopping the Market/Deli and Bottle shop, too. Service is mostly great.

We live in San Diego and don't have much in line with German food so we were looking for German Food in Lakeland area and ended up going to NE Tampa after a recommendation from a friend. Charming decor and friendly service perfectly complemented the food. Jaeger and Italian schnitzel were just right - breading light. Come with an appetite as it is a huge portion. Sides of warm potato salad, red cabbage and spaetzel with mushroom gravy all tasted like it came from your mom's kitchen. Desserts were a good end to the meal. We will be back.

We came here on a Friday night, so it was a little busy and we had to wait ~25 minutes for a table, which was totally fine. Inside smells.. bad to say the least - like a mildewy, rotting scent. I am very disappointed in the service we received here. We were seated, and SEVERAL tables (4+ just in our own section) seated much later than us got their orders taken and/or received their food way before us. We waited 40 minutes for our food, and our waiter was impossible to flag down to even get our order taken. When we got our food, it was lukewarm. The food is what you'd expect of German bar food. I liked what I got, which was the Zigeuner Schnitzel with spicy sour cream sauce and the warmed potato salad. Overall, I probably wouldn't go here again unless some friends REALLY wanted to. Food was average, vibes were off, and service was trash. My boyfriend has been here a couple times and said it's not usually like this, so give it a chance if you really like German food I guess - although I personally wouldn't.

FANTASTIC Authentic German Cuisine! Every dish we tried was Amazing and made from scratch with quality ingredients. The service we experienced was attentive and quick with great attitudes. The German music makes for a FANTASTIC experience. The German Snacks & Assorted Foods for sale are all from German and Amazing selection! Alot time to peruse the place and explore the many rooms and areas for a mind blowing amount of beer selections. You won't be disappointed. Highly Recommended!

This restaurant is more authentic than what you find in Helen, GA. My favorite here is the veal jager schnitzel with spatzel. The pomme frits taste good with curry ketchup. My bf is a huge fan of their curry wurst and he likes their assortment of German beer. They are a brewery and brew their own beer. They sell German goods and knick knacks in part of the restaurant. This place doesn't seem like much on the outside but full of surprises inside. It's a hidden gem in this area.

A real German Bier Pub and Grocery. Huge selection of beers on Tap with seats and tables to grab a meal. Great Pastrami sandwich too.

Came in for lunch on a weekday. It wasn't too busy even we arrived but soon started to fill in. The seating is open so you can sit anywhere you want or find. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Reuben and it was delicious! Love the flavor of the thousand island dressing and sauerkraut. It came with chips and a pickle. Hubs got the side of German potato salad which was pretty good also. I'd come back to have that Rueben again!!

Came here with a friend that's been coming here for decades. I guess since they used to be at university mall. Still going just as strong too! Got seated right away during lunchtime rush on a Saturday afternoon. Jam packed menu of so many great authentic German choices. Started off with a German pretzel with the beer cheese. Hands down this is the best way to eat it. I'm sure the mustard is great, too, but the beer cheese - oh man! Also went with one of their sandwiches. The bread was some of the softest and freshest bread I've ever had. I also had a side of the German potato salad (cold). On the way out we stopped by the little store and grabbed one of the Milka chocolate bars. Great service, great environment, and great food. I'll be back for sure. Can't wait to try some of the other dishes.
