"Mr. E’s Late Nite is an unfussy Logan Square spot from restaurateur Esam Hani serving late-night–friendly items like hot dogs, Italian beef, pizza puffs, and cheap beer, and it’s the seventh business Hani operates on the 2700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue." - Naomi Waxman

Stopped by for a snack after hitting the bars, this place was amazing. The customer service was 10/10, so sweet and they have a good atmosphere. The prices are super reasonable and overall one of the best hot dogs Ive ever had!

Google
They did a buncha’ changes recently and they are all whack. -removal of the 2 hot dog combo, one of the most standout reasons to go here. -no more outdoor seating -no more beer -new buns are bad I’ve been coming here for years and this was my favorite hot dog spot in town, so it’s tragic they got rid of so much of what made them great. I talked to another customer too who was bummed about what they’ve done as well, so I’m definitely not alone here. Management, bring back why we loved this place!

Google
The best eats at the best price. Even though some reviews say otherwise, Mr. E's still tries to meet customers in the middle in my opinion. Go anywhere else and a burger and fry costs $16-$20 before tip. Mr. E's combo sits around $12 and is such a satisfying fill. Even though they don't serve beer anymore, they still have beverages and it is still worth it to go in and grab some food. Just hit one of the nearby bars after you eat your fill, like I am doing during this review. (Longman & Eagle has $3 PBR cans and $5 Old Style on Tap at the time of this review.) I implore people to continue supporting Mr. E's because the food is still top notch!

Google
Was driving past thought we’d stop and grab food.. We should’ve kept going. Got the Gyro combo and the chicken fingers combo. Folded the gyro to eat it, and the inside of it didn’t even rise above the bread. The ranch for the chicken fingers was absolutely disgusting. Taste like canned ranch. Main complaint and the reason we will not return is small portion sizes. We were both hungry 20 minutes after we ate…

As a resident who lives nearby, I love coming to Mr. E's for a tasty meal and great prices. I personally love their burgers! The combo meals are right around $10 for most of the meals. Staff is always very pleasant and service is very timely. I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my order! I will continue to patronize this business for a tasty and affordable meal! It always hits the spot. Try their cheese fries!

Google
Polish combo is delicious! Yummy hot dog and crinkle cut fries. My fav:)

Google
Just tried Mr. E’s Beyond Burger, and wow—what a treat! It was so good I couldn’t resist ordering a second. Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying, it’s a must-try for anyone looking for a plant-based delight. Highly recommend!

Google
Classic American cheeseburger. Basic but delicious. The bun was soft, the lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh, the pickles were perfect, the patty was delicious. I’d give it an 8/10 but would be 8.5 or 9 if the edges of the cheese slice were melted. The service was quick and to the point. Maybe could be cheaper, but for late night food, it’s a great choice!

Yelp
So my lovely wife and I have been to Mr. E's twice, and each time we have come here to eat a pizza puff at the start of a self-conducted Milwaukee Avenue food and fun crawl. I gotta admit, it's a pretty tasty snack. I don't know if this place ever fills up, but we ate sitting at the stools facing out towards the bustling Milwaukee Avenue scene.

Yelp
Mr. E's Late night might be better in the night than in the day, but I was underwhelmed by the hamburger I ordered. It was small--the bun was the size of the smaller ones you get at the grocery store, and it was not flavorful/seasoned at all. The crinkle fries were hot and plentiful. The give you one napkin and 3 packs of ketchup if you eat in. The person at the counter was cordial and efficient.

Yelp
quick fast and delicious!! we stopped in for a quick dog and ended up grabbing beers and eating inside they have a nice patio too but we wanted to get some AC on a hot day. can't beat it

Yelp
The burger was really yummy. Just a great smash burger with solid ingredients, seasoned perfectly, not soggy. they gave me a lot of fries too. i love a good crunchy, non oily french fry and these were great. can definitely tell i'll be here late night grabbing a bite a lot now. the service was good aswell, they gave me my soda right away, answered my questions direct, and even gave me a new water cup before i left :)! love this place. we sat in to eat and it was comfortable, convenient, and there's an outside area too! quality place.

Yelp
Easy and convenient place to get a quick bite to eat. Food is nothing extraordinary, but the service is fast. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating. The burger was good and they had a lot of other options to select from. I will definitely be back to try the other options.

Yelp
To add along to my review of Mr. E's, I would also recommend their Chili Cheese dogs. These are one of my favorite items to order from here and they are very good.

Yelp
Red Hot Ranch makes it really tough for short order burgers in the $5-$7 price range. Mr. E's was decent, but not particularly good or crave worthy. Service wasn't friendly enough for me to round up. I'd revisit if within walking distance, but not worth a special trip. 3.2 stars overall.

Yelp
Cute place, friendly service. Tasty food. Great prices. Very quick turn around from the time I ordered until I left with my food. Good portion sizes, too! Highly recommend stopping in if you're craving any of the Chicago classics. They even have all the classic beers in the to go cooler. I had the chicken sandwich which was really moist. Everything tasted fresh and well made!

Yelp
The pizza puff is seriously life giving and I love that they are open late! Can't wait to visit after the bars again!

Yelp
Good late night spot. Got the two hot dogs combo with the works and a root beer. Fries are okay. Just delicious drunk food. Quality bite, I will be back again.

Yelp
A great hole in the wall type place. We ordered the polish and fries. Everything was great. Fresh to order. The fries could be cooked a few minutes longer but love a great crinkle cut fries. Friendly service. Prices a little high but quality. The beefs looked good. Will try it next time.

Yelp
Perfect for a quick bite at night, just had hot dog which was not soggy, their fries could use some salt after coming out the fryer ( salt after they've come out and sat for a few doesn't hold the salt very well).

Yelp
This review is for a Chicago dog with everything. It had all the toppings (including a poppy seed bun, which is often missing). There was way too much mustard; it overpowered everything. Mustard is such a powerful flavor, and there's already a lot of acid and bite from the pickle and sport peppers, so it needs to be just a squiggle of mustard.

Yelp
Rode past and was hungry so decided to pop in. This place is brand new and delicious. They have a limited menu of burgers, hotdogs, cheese steaks, and Italian beef--but do you really want anything else? Ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and it was delicious. Beer is on point, $3 tall boys. Can't beat this. Just wish I lived closer. PS--they have six stools outside so you can actually eat there.

Yelp
It's a decent neighborhood hot dog spot. It's no frills. I ordered a hot dog and fries and it was good. The prices are ... ok. I'm really happy to have a late night spot in the area.

Yelp
The have an online ordering system so takeout was very convenient. The order was ready in a few minutes so I suggest to choose a pickup time instead of the ASAP option. Their fried shrimp has a seasoned breading and comes with cocktail sauce. The shrimp was bigger than I expected. You can add cheese for your crinkle cut fries!

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Packaged nicely, fresh ingredients, plentiful portioning, and satisfied my craving for a Chicago dog.

Yelp
3.5 stars is more appropriate. Definitely the best hotdog place in the neighborhood. Italian beef was a bit dry and underwhelming. Pizza puff was standard pizza puff....yummy. Will hands down be my neighborhood late night spot.

Yelp
Best chicago style dog in Logan Square, without a doubt. Great prices, fast friendly service, but the dog is incredible. A+++

Yelp
Did not know what to expect, had previously looked at this place online and couldn't decide if it was any good. Once in the area and being so close to the Logan Theater, my destination, my boyfriend and I decided to take a leap and eat here. He ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, and I ordered the Italian beef. Both got drinks and fries. The price was well worth the food. We ate so fast and enjoyed it so much I didn't remember to take pictures. This place only has 5 seats at a table looking out the window. We are not from the area and had nowhere to eat our food but luckily there was a spot for us to sit. The Italian beef was delicious, the added hot peppers were a charge but nothing to break the bank, they were nice and spicy unlike other hot peppers at most places. The beef was nice and tender and delicious. The fries were crinkle cut fries with just the right amount of salt. The Italian beef was massive itself I almost didn't finish it. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken sandwich and regretting not getting the chicago dog. Next time we are in the area we will remember this place for sure!

John H.

Yelp
Solid spot for some classic Chicago food. Their dogs, burgers, and beefs are legit. Only downside is I wish their fries were fresh cut and wish they were open later.

Roxy M.

Yelp
Super prices, super food! It's just what the neighborhood needed. Burgers are especially tender and delicious!

Yelp
Not a good experience with this place I've been here 3 times and first off I order a combo and the combo didn't come with Sausage so when I came back the next time I told the staff they said sorry and didn't do anything about okay cool 3rd time I waited about 25 minutes for two hot dog-and a burger and combo noticed a bag sitting on the counter and mind you it was just myself and another customer and they had got a pick up call so all order are out except my order finally when they see me standing waiting he grabs the bag adds the fries , I stop him right there and I tell him is that my bag that's been sitting on top of the counter all this time ? He stated it wasn't ohh Really the end of the bag was all wet mushy that's because it was sitting for a long time!! I watched it sit there, with an attitude he said he would make my order again which they did but he was rude about it , I'm not sure if this man was the owner or manger , but he wears black glasses his whole attitude was Unnecessary. Once I got home I noticed my burger was very pink inside , bread got super Soggy and for the combo the Italian beef was not dipped as looked like a rainbow on the beef nasty looking they didn't add the peppers beef was dry I paid 30 to 40 dollars each time for my family to eat and this is what they put out And think it's okay well I'm not the one to just walk away anymore I let them slide once . It's a shame I wouldn't waste my time or money here. I do not recommend nasty!!

Yelp
They would have perfect griddle burgers if you could just add bacon. I look forward to to trying the rest of their menu

Luca V.

Yelp
got a chicago hot dog and it was just OKAY , and paid the extra .45 cents for cheddar cheese and they forgot to add it

Sara R.

Yelp
So nice to finally find affordable, delicious comfort food. Gratefully their take-out system is simple and perfectly functional; prices are beyond reasonable, and the food is a huge thumbs-up. As a native Chicagoan I say with authority that I know how Italian beef and hotdogs should taste. Mr. E's raises the bar. Both of our kids prefer their hotdogs to ones they've had both at home and at Superdawg (sorry guys, we still love you) and Portillo's. Italian beef was a huge hit with my father-in-law, which means it must be perfection. I'm a cheeseburger fan. We all win. Highly recommend.

Angelo D.

Yelp
I've tried almost everything on the menu and everything is good. Prices are great and it's fast. Can't go wrong. The dbl cheeseburger is great!
