"A welcoming restaurant with a charming team and a lovely tiled floor, set in the basement of a striking red-brick Georgian house. The well-priced set menu showcases wonderful Irish produce and the tasty, modern dishes are skilfully enhanced by global flavours." - Michelin Inspector

Food was exceptional quality. All the dishes were outstanding in taste & flavor. Particularly the duck and beef tar tar. Set menu is incredible value for what you get. Service was friendly and really good. Love the decor and little details. Definitely recommend!

Google
The food was really excellent. However the location lacks ambiente and is way too noisy. Staff is very nice but not very helpful about the food expérience. Basically they were simply stating the same thing as listed in the Menu, no added value or insight. Two of our courses were served in the wrong order. Waiting times between dishes were also quite random and sometimes we got our food after others that arrived half an hour after us. The food is good but to make it worth the full price it would be good to the see the expérience extended to the whole establishment.

Google
Love everything about this place!!! Best food we had in Dublin and should be Michelin starred. We got a wine pairing with our experience which I would say is a must because the somalier is very knowledgeable. If we ever return to Dublin, we will be returning!!!

Google
Amazing experience, food and service. The only slight minus was the cold welcome by the lady at the reception desk. A smile and a different welcoming phrase anything other than " what can I do for you", would be nice to match the rest of the atmosphere and well thought dishes/matching wines.

Google
Fantastic appetizers, entrees and desserts! Awesome value. Don’t miss this place!

Google
Fabulous meal to top of our Ireland trip. We had the sourdough, cheese selection, gnocchi, calamari, and oysters, and everything was perfectly executed. The service was wonderful.

Google
Divine, simply divine. My favourite was the curried cod and the parmesan dish. The curried cod had just the right amount of spice. The tartar was excellent and the tuna dish was fabulous! Service was top notch and the wine excellent! Will be back again!

Yelp
There are only a few restaurants with tasting menus where I liked every single dish on the menu, and Mr. Fox is one of them. While some restaurants with tasting menus only serve miniature sized food, Mr. Fox serves decent portions for each course. Not only was I completely satisfied with the taste of every dish, I felt very full at the end. Each course had a different flavor profile where the ingredients worked well together. Furthermore, I was impressed by the non-alcoholic spirits and wines selection. I really enjoyed my non-alcoholic Riesling and non-alcoholic gin (Tanqueray 00). Both food and beverages were 5/5.

Yelp
WOW. This was an incredible experience. I was in town for business and it was the birthday of my manager. We were able to secure a table and it was a fantastic celebration. Everything was impeccable. The service, the food, the atmosphere. I was ready to lick everything off the plates. It's a tasting menu and everything offered is impeccable. We had 8PM reservations and we were the last group to roll out at 11:30PM (no, we weren't pressured to leave, we realized no one else was around =P) Thank you for a wonderful meal and memorable time at your lovely establishment. I'll come back the next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Mr. Fox is the best culinary experience I've had to date. Each course was a new experience of tasting flavor profiles that I had never tried before. The sommelier for the wine pairing was knowledgeable and fun to talk to. My friends brought a fox stuffed animal, and the staff thought it was funny and let us put it up on the wall (see picture). The ambiance was also great, as the restaurant is down below the street level hidden away, making it feel like a secret that only you know about. Unreal experience, I hope I get the chance to visit Dublin again someday just to go to Mr Fox! And I hope they get their Michelin star, they deserve it.

Yelp
Had an absolutely stellar meal here with 2 of my friends! And I highly recommend opting for the wine pairing with the tasting menu. Hardly anyone had selected the wine pairing when we were there, and they really missed out. The amount of care that goes into each pairing was phenomenal, and each pairing really enhanced the accompanying course. And if one of the courses is custom (vegetarian, for example, or non-shellfish), they actually select a different wine that will be specific to the customization. Cheers! Enjoy your meal!!

Yelp
Friendly staff. Plain decor. Basement room was stuffy and over heated. Exceptionally loud as the evening progressed. Wine list was so so with at least one bottle mislabeled. Tasting menu was 91€ and the food was trying to live up to the Michelin accolades but just kept missing the mark except for the deserts which were simple and delicious even though they kept arriving at different times. Table service was what you might expect at a diner with empty plates sitting for so long we stacked them to clear some place and then had to ask them to be removed. Not terrible just not worth the hype.

Yelp
This was one of the best food experiences I have ever had !! From start to finish every piece of the tasting menu was amazing ! First class !

Yelp
Located just North of The River Liffey on an unassuming street lies Mr. Fox, look for the blue door! After they buzz you in, the actual restaurant kinda lies in the basement of the building. They do a Pre-Fix menu for 78 Euros and they do it very well! Lots of locals here if you know what I mean & you want to wear something nice, they said. The wine program is amazing as are the house cocktails.. some of the best drinks I've had. The menu consisted of 11 different courses well spaced out focusing on regional items in season! Everything was amazing & cooked perfectly but standouts included a Lamb Rump cooked MR with smoked yogurt sauce and a Monkfish with Cockles & a SEP puree. The desserts were also great with a blackberry yuzu and a chocolate hazelnut brownie concoction! Service was perfect & each dish is explained in detail. One of the best meals I've ever had/ Must try in Dublin! talk later

Yelp
By sheer coincidence I was here twice in a fortnight. The tasting menu is sublime, each mini course better than the last. The 'main' is a luscious lamb fillet which melts on the tongue. Other courses consisting of a tuna tartlet and hake in a curry(ish) sauce and tiny servings of ham hock and potato all served to create a superb dining experience. It's not cheap, especially as we had far too much wine, but worth every penny. Three desserts finished off an excellent meal. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The meal kit we got was superb so we booked a table to celebrate my birthday. They'd moved dining outside to their terrace. Everything about it was flawless!! Five course menu is €59 per person. Photographs don't really do it justice. Will 100% be back

Yelp
We went as a party of 3 for a fun dining experience. The tasting menu was amazing. My friend and I left fully stuffed, however hubby was still hungry afterward. It was a nice way to step out of your usual and try new things. It was about a 2 hour experience. Everyone was attentive and kind. It was a wonderful way to spend the evening.

Yelp
(4.5 stars) Dinner here was a wonderful experience. I don't think the dishes were perfect, but the complexity and richness was definitely there. Even loved the bread and whipped mushroom butter to start. The chateaubriand steak was probably the highlight, beautifully pink throughout with very light seasoning where the meat and the sauce reduction were the stars. The cod and mussels bisque was beautiful light and fresh, the short rib felt slightly over-cooked because it didn't peel off the fork as easily as I had hoped but that could have just been the cut of meat and that sauce, potato, onion accompaniments were lovely additions to each bite. The risotto felt slight over-cooked as well, a tougher texture to the grain than I was expecting, but the dish was super savory and addicting.

Yelp
Such a lovely dining experience and a wonderful perk to our stay in Dublin! Everything was delicious and each course left us excited for the next. I recommend the wine pairing - a lot of fun and fabulous choices!

Jen M.

Yelp
The food was incredible and the service top notch. I enjoyed this meal as a solo diner and the staff made me feel very comfortable and well taken care of from the moment I arrived. The tuna starter was so insanely delicious, and all 5 courses were such a treat. I highly, highly recommend.

Yelp
I have eaten here with my wife and friends a few times over the past year or so and every time the food has been really superb: nicely presented, good portion sizes & flavoursome. The wine list is sufficiently long to meet most tastes and there's a nice bar area one can relax and have a drink at before you sit down for dinner at your table. Staff are friendly and know the menu & food they're serving.

Yelp
My husband & I are ultimate foodies, we've been in search of a 10/10 dining experience which was realized when we dined at Mr. Fox earlier this week. The 5 course prefix menu & wine pairing was exquisite. The menu selections would not have been my first choice had I been given a selection, but the intention behind the meal was artistic. The flavors worked in harmony from course to course as an orchestra. Our servers were educated & passionate about the ingredients. This was arguably the best meal I've had in my entire life, & I've worked in the food industry for over ten years!

Yelp
At last. I have found a proper restaurant serving genuinely high quality food in a contemporary setting that is both informal and professional. Mr. Fox does everything well. The bread was specially sourced, their signature dessert (walnut whip thing) was a joy. But their meats were superb, from the bone marrow to the pork belly, it was obvious that these dishes had been prepared with care and skill. The service was superb with a great balance of attentiveness, anticipation and leaving you alone. And to cap it all it was great value - puts many of the trendy Dublin 2 eateries to shame. Support a genuine Dublin dining gem. Go to Parnell Sq.

Yelp
WOW !!! Had new year's eve dinner here with my mom and wife and it was incredible. The Heirloom beetroot and goats cheese appetizer was out of this world delicious. Carpaccio was melt in your mouth tender and perfectly seasoned. The duck entree was tender and delicious. The venison was not tender so I sent it back and had the haddock with lardo which transformed the dish unexpectedly delicious. The folks sitting next to us had the venison and said it was wonderful, so I chalk that up to the fact that sometimes even a beautiful cut of meat doesn't live up to it's looks. The beans with Chorizo were a great combination. What a wonderful meal. I do agree with the negative comments on the decor - the place is very boring and the lighting is not well done.

Yelp
I spend a lot of time eating out in cities like New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. As a result when eating in Dublin I'm typically under whelmed and usually an embarrassment to my family during that dreaded moment when the waiter asks "is everything alright?". By contrast my meal last night in Mr Fox was absolutely flawless. It was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had in recent memory in any country. The waiting staff were superb, the general ambiance was really lovely and ever starter, main and desert for our party of four was excellent. Highly recommend and look forward to going in again soon.

Yelp
I was extremely skeptical if Mr. Fox at first, but was won over by its excellent food, great ambiance and accommodating staff. I was on a brief visit to Dublin with a group of friends and we had decided to try Mr Fox, for a Saturday night late evening dinner. Though we were a very large group, 12, we were well taken care of without being smothered. The menu provide a variety new takes on continental and traditional Irish cuisine. Some in the party had roasted beets and chèvre as entre I took the croquette of pig jowls with an amazing dark purée (chestnut?) and confit of onion. My main plate were several choice perfectly cooked filets of pheasant with parsnips and berries. The desert was called the 'bounty' which consisted of a presentation of different preparations of chocolate (mousse, cake, crumble, dark, white...) on a small disc of gelato (vanilla?). It was extraordinary. All servings were large enough to satisfy the experience of tasting the food, but small enough to enjoy all three courses. In sum, they demonstrate a true commitment to the food and the experience. Strong recommendation.

Yelp
Fantastic, Mr. Fox! A clean and cool ambiance. The portions were filling and perfectly sized. The flavors were spot on and superbly creative (delicious roasted peanut flavor from leek and aioli?!). Service was great, and the dishes were timed well. Really, the only cons were that the music choice was a bit on the cheesy side and the time between us asking for the check and it coming was about 25 minutes.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was very good. However, the lighting and atmosphere in the evening in the back dining room leave a lot to be desired... way too bright... light shining into your eyes for the walk incandescently.. no atmosphere at all. Sad as it's a perfect date restaurant. Also, we tried four glasses of wine and they were all average. Food was nice tho as was the bread and a utter at the beginning.

Yelp
Hidden gem just off Parnell Square in Dublin. Food is excellent and the old school Brunch and Supersplit desserts take you back to your childhood. Staff are a credit to the owner and he should be very proud of this beautiful restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Tasty food with good service. For main course, they put mussels together with cod but it didn't cover cod's fresh taste. Very good.

Yelp
I had a fabulous meal here tonight. All four of us ordered from the a la carte and it took us forever to choose our meals as everything just sounded so wonderful. I had the crab to start and it was almost too pretty to eat and tasted just as good. Guinea fowl for mains was delicious as was the very ambiguously named"pb & j" dessert. The staff were all lovely and friendly and very attentive. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Yelp
Had dinner at Mr. Fox, a new restaurant in Parnell Square, on a recent trip to Dublin. It's from the same people behind The Pig's Ear, which I ate at on my last visit to the city and loved. The space is modern and warm. There's also an awesome little bar to grab a drink before dinner, where we sat and had a glass of champagne. In addition to the incredible bread with whipped butter they send out, we tried the oysters, deviled eggs and pig's head to start. The deviled eggs were out of this world and the oysters some of the best I have had. Super fresh. From the starters we tried the crab ravioli (a must order) and the bone marrow which was the best thing I ate during the entire trip. I'm still thinking about that dish. So rich and savory. For mains, we had the cod and the venison which were both great. The cod was cooked to perfection and served over a corn succotash that I wish I could make at home. The venison was another standout dish and one I would order again and again. We also ordered a side of carrots which were spicy and delicious. For dessert we tried the orange "supersplit" and the chocolate bouchon. The orange was an olive oil cake with vanilla ice cream and clementine granita. Very refreshing and clean, especially after such a big meal. The chocolate bouchon had everything we wanted in a chocolate dessert and we basically licked the plate clean. It was fancy and fun. On top of all the great food, the service was fantastic, which made our meal even more special. The real kicker, though, was the price tag. A meal like that would cost an arm and a leg in NYC where we live. The prices were extremely reasonable, especially given the level of the food and the service. I can't say enough good things about this place and can't wait to go back. If you're looking for a special place to have a meal while traveling in Dublin this is it. Get a reservation now while you still can.

Yelp
My husband and I were visiting Dublin for a few days and I searched best restaurants in Dublin, Mr Fox showed up and it did not disappoint. It was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. The crab appetizer was delicious, both of our mains were amazing, and the dessert was a perfect bite to share. Prices to us were very reasonable for the high quality of the food. If you are looking for a great meal make sure to come here! Do try to make a reservation though, this can be done online which is nice.

Yelp
Wonderful first meal in Dublin after long flight. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Deviled eggs with some real. Devil. And excellent steak tartare. And wonderful quail starter. Good wine selection. A little noisy.

Kitty O.

Yelp
We were visiting from Canada and went to Mr. Fox on our last night. Without question, the best restaurant I have been to, to date.

Zander M.

Yelp
Of our 10 day trip to Ireland, this is definitely the best meal we had. Front to back, every course we had was fantastic. The service was also by far the best we had on our trip. I would highly recommend Mr. Fox to locals or visitors who want a superb dining experience.

Nate M.

Yelp
Food was fairly bland and uninspired. They came quickly with the food, but once we'd eaten they took an hour with the check. They clearly knew what they were doing there, as we couldn't walk out since we had already eaten.

Liza H.

Yelp
Charming atmosphere and great food. Staff were attentive and friendly. Great dinner before theatre!

Larry M.

Yelp
Superb restaurant. All 4 of us loved everything we got from carpaccio to tartare to wonderful entres of lamb, pork belly, and cod. Best meal I've had in a while. If you can, go and sit back and enjoy. !!!
