"Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, located in Highland Park and on Larchmont, is currently facing potential asset seizure by the IRS due to a payroll tax misunderstanding and complications arising from the U.S. government shutdown. The bakery's owner, Aaron Caddel, had been resolving the issue with Paychex before the shutdown stalled communications with the IRS. A notice of intent to seize assets was issued unless a payment of over $86,000 is made by January 23. Caddel is struggling to reach IRS case workers to resolve the issue, which could cause financial strain on the small business." - Farley Elliott

Delicious. The pastrami was at another level. Excellent fresh bread. Aesthetic presentation. The pastry was apricot with shredded croissant. Very good. Sandwich pastry and no drink for $14.

THE end of the line for creative croissants. Cruffin: a lightly sugar-coated croissant baked in a muffin tin, stuffed with light, cranberry mousee-like creme - sweet and tart with restraint. A super clean, beautifully simple interior design, friendly and knowledgeable staff and...speakers with rich sound playing joyful music. A really nice place to be.

Worth the hype! Finally had their famous cruffin (croissant-muffin), which was crisp and flaky on the outside and filled with passionfruit custard on the inside. Also had a chocolate croissant and chocolate chip cookies, which were also delicious. Look forward to returning to try more things!

I wanted to check out Mr. Holmes cruffin - croissant muffin. Cruffin of the day was with raspberry filling. It did taste like a croissant except shaped like muffin. I also had the mocha donut - mocha cream filling; fruit danish and chocolate croissant. Very good. Not sure I would go back as it's too pricey.

This place was on my bucket list for awhile and to be honest, I'm kind of disappointed. We went right when they opened since there are limited parking. Great for a photo op for Instagram but, the food was okay. The employees weren't really helpful. They assume you already knew the menu choices. Had to ask them several times what were the pastry options (mostly what ingredients were in them...). They seemed annoyed when you asked questions. This will be my first and last time I go there... FYI: pretty far drive if you're staying in downtown Los Angeles!

Ordered vegan salted-chocolate cookie, chocolate cherry raspberry cronut, and raspberry jam filled donut as well as a almond latte. All of them-🔥. Highly recommend the salted-chocolate cookie, it's basically a brownie in cookie form and the donut was sugary-covered raspberry ecstasy and washed it ALL down with an almond latte that was exceptionally smooth. Coffee was exquisite, very good! Gorgeous environment and ambiance, staff is great!

My favorite place to go when I want to treat myself. Try the pastrami & monchego croissant and any of their fruit pastries (my favorite is the plum one🤤). Also their espresso drinks and vegan brunch special (hilariously named “the millennial mortgage”) are really reasonably priced. Also everyone who works there is incredibly friendly. I actually really like that there’s never anyone working there on their laptop; gives it much more of a bakery than a cafe vibe. Love that.

This place stands out compared to the area. While they clearly mark what their items are, they don't indicate what kind of filling each has. Not all the items I tried had a filling, but most did. In some cases I was pleasantly surprised. In others, it could have done without. I tried the cromuffin. It was just ok. I should say I'm also not a fan of cronuts I've tried at other places. So perhaps it's just not my cup of tea. I couldn't tell what the filling was, but I know that I did not like it. The churro croissant was good as was the donut. But for the prices I just didn't enjoy it enough to want to come back.
