A friend recommended this place for AYCE Kbbq so had to check it out while in the burbs. Walking in, the place is fairly clean for an AYCE place. Seating is arranged into booths which offer decent privacy for groups. In the middle of each table is the cast iron grill, with an exhaust vent situated above.
We got the premium AYCE option for 34.99 per person because it came with some nice meat options such as galbi, pepper steak, etc in addition to seafood. Like every AYCE place, you get sides which included the standard fare of fish cakes, kimchi, radish paper, potatoes, and lettuce. When it came to the meats, the bulgogli was the standout---it was well marinated and surprisingly tender and juciy. The brisket was average. The galbi (or short rib) marinade was uneven, some pieces were more flavorful than others. Same deal with the pepper steak, the seasoning was not evenly distributed. We also tried the pork shoulder and pork belly, those were pretty good. The seafood options were pretty lackluster--the baby octopus was grainy and rubbery. We also got their soybean soup and kimchi tofu soup, which were a bit on the salty side. Their fried dumplings and fried chicken were crispy and flavorful.
Service was very fast and attentive. Our server kept up pretty well for a large party and we were never waiting too long to ask for more rounds of meat or sides. There is a charge for unfinished meat so keep in mind to only order what you can eat. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the experience--a no frills, AYCE spot with pretty solid yet diverse options.
